Episode #11414 Taped 7/15 Director – Noel Maxam

Salemites play the waiting game at Salem hospital, and so do the viewers, as not much movement in story today. Vivian sits with Carly & Chloe at Java, as they insist she take a hike. Viv, tho, is sure there is some hidden reason these two have become so close, is bound and determined to find out what it is, figuring it may just be a man. She finally decides to depart, but first takes a parting shot at Chloe, asking if she has told Carly yet what she did. Vivian departs, Carly asks what Vivian was talking about, and Chloe stumbles and bumbles all over the place, intending to explain, but taking forever to do so. They leave, going down to the docks, where they are alone, and Chloe continues to apologize, repeating a couple times how upset and insecure she felt when Vivian made her think Carly & Daniel were having an affair, and after a time, finally manages to tell about Vivian giving her the number of a man to call, who could cause a problem with the elevator at the hospital.

Vivian arrives home, to find Philip waiting, thinks he is there to see Victor, but no, Philip wants to see her. Vivian is touched, her son wants to see his mother. Phil gets right in her face, angrily telling her she is not his mother, ignoring her protests about carrying him for 9 mos. He warns her to stay away from his wife, no dropping in, no intentional bumping into her, etc. Viv realizes Melanie told him about her wanting to help with the shower, and with Philip so angry, agrees to back off from that. Now she tells him about concentrating on her plans for the tribute to his sister, to have her remains moved to this beautiful sarcophagus. Philip about has a fit, Victor arrives, what is all the noise. Philip tells of wanting Vivian to stay away from Melanie, Vivian leaves, Phil wants to know why she is still here. Everything is all over long ago, why hasn’t Victor sent her back where she came from. Vivian sits up in her room contemplating how Maggie is going to be missing with no one knowing.
Later, she is at the mauseuleum, the lid of the sarcophagus is open, all that white satin (and no pink satin pillow, lol). Gus can’t believe she is trying to kill Maggie, but Viv insists that is not true, she only intends to toy with her.
And back at the K mansion, Victor stands, sternly saying that when he gives an order he expects to be obeyed, he sits down facing little Ciara, saying…and I order you to have nothing but fun today, o.k. Ciara nods her head, he says o.k. let’s go. She hurries out, and it is almost as if Victor “skips” after her. LOL Cute scene.

Melanie sits with Maggie in the kitchen, talking a bit of the shower, but more about Maggie leaving on the trip and missing her. Later, she is at her dad’s place, babbling to him about the shower, and he is invited. He is happy she is getting along so well with Chloe, Carly, too. Maggie stops by with a gift for the baby, Melanie gets a call from the caterer, goes into another room, Daniel & Maggie talk about her trip. She explains how she and Mickey had planned to go, and she thought perhaps now, it would be comforting for her to go. Daniel advises that instead, it just might be upsetting. Maggie realizes that having lost his wife, he knows the grieving process, wonders if perhaps he is not right.

And then we have Stephanie, still pestering Ian to find out if Philip is the one who changed the results. Ooops, St. Mary’s put up another firewall, but Ian manages to get past it, and somehow is able to discern that no computer from Titan accessed St. Mary’s system. So, now Stephanie has another fit, cuz who could it be, maybe Chloe herself, but she is not that computer savvy, maybe had a friend. Decides no, cuz Chloe is a blabbermouth, and would not be able to keep a secret. She is really bugged as to who else could have changed it……and in walks Nathan, finding Ian once again visiting with Stephanie. Ian leaves, Stephanie claims she is just having a hard time with the new software at the hospital, and Ian is helping.

Today, the Emmy goes to Joe Mascola (Stefano) who is outstanding as Stefano alternates between his anger, worry, grief, sadness, love for his son. Stefano still thinks Sami is the one who did this, Rafe sticks up for her, reminding him she was with him last night. Yeah, he knows, sleeping. He reminds Sami whoever did this will die……in pain and alone. Stefano makes that threat a few times throughout the show. Daniel & Lexie are in EJ’s room, checking the machines, etc. Stefano comes in, wants to know how Elvis is doing. They cannot tell him, he is holding, but brain function is not so good. They leave him, and Stefano sits by EJ’s side, talking to him. Fathers are not supposed to have favorites, but I did, and that was you. Oh, yeah, we argued and fought, but that always got put aside. This should be me laying there, not you. He wants his son to fight, promising that he will find whoever did this to him, and they will pay. He kisses EJ’s forehead, then wearily sits on a chair across from the foot of the bed.
Outside, Sami goes thru the gamut of emotions. She doesn’t want to be responsible, she can’t do this, how would anyone know when. She finally goes to Daniel, has a horrible question, but doesn’t like being in this position, and beats around the bush a bit, before finally saying she wants a doctor’s opinion, how does one know when to pull the plug, which she thinks is a horrible expression. Daniel tells her one never knows, that when Chloe was in a coma, Lucas was told there was no hope for her, and to pull the plug, and yet she survived, came out of it and was fine. He says something about when there would no longer be any brain function..that could be the time. He leaves, Sami doesn’t like this one bit. Rafe suggests she go in to see Elvis for a while, maybe it would help her. She starts to go in, Stefano has just come out, tries to stop her. Lexie reminds him that Sami is EJ’s medical care guardian, and as such, can go in.

Stefano comments that Sami is a pain, and now repeats his threats about whoever did this will pay to Rafe. But Rafe tells him perhaps the wrong man was shot, and it is too bad that whoever did this didn’t wipe out the entire DiMera clan while they were at it.
Sami stands inside the room, near the door, looking at EJ, telling him he is Johnny’s father, he is Sydney’s father, how could he do what he did. Suddenly, EJ’s eyes flutter a bit, and then open. Sami begins yelling for Lexie, who rushes in, but EJ’s eyes are closed again. Sami goes out, telling everyone how his eyes opened. Stefano accuses her of wanting to have her kids all to herself. Finally, Lexie comes out of EJ’s room. Stefano anxiously asks if EJ will be all right. Yep, we get the silent, very solemn stare.

Episode #11413 Taped 7/14 Director – Grant A. Johnson

Awkward moments and a few cat and mouse games throughout the show today. Nathan sits alone at the Cheatin’ Heart, remembering a conversation he had with Chloe, and in comes Melanie, Chloe, Philip. Melanie is her usual chirpy self, barely nods between Chloe & Nathan, or even Philip. Seems the happy couple brought Chloe there to ask her something, while Nathan is waiting for Stephanie. Mel sits with Nathan a minute of two, Phil & Chloe find a table, she joins them.
Outside, Stephanie is on the phone to Ian, who cannot find out if Philip changed those results without his e-mail address & server. Inside, Melanie tells Chloe she wants to throw her a baby shower, Chloe is touched, fine with her, it will be fun, maybe have couples…..Chloe agrees, Mel says yeah, like the birthday party, only too bad Philip had to leave. They begin talking decorations and such, Philip grins, his cue to leave. He joins Nathan, mentions something about the children’s wing, Stephanie had walked in earlier, eavesdropped, walks back in hears part of what Philip was saying and blurts out “oh, my gosh, did you tell him?”. Tell me what? We were talking of the children’s wing. (Sorry, this whole conversation is stupid, IMO. Stephanie awkwardly covers, talking of not knowing Chloe was telling everyone about her pregnancy, Nathan is puzzled, they both found out at same time. Chloe & Melanie leave to go shopping for shower decorations, Stephanie joins Philip, and starts the interrogation. She wonders if it isn’t awkward for Philip to be with Chloe/Daniel seeing as he & Chloe used to be lovers. He tells her it is past history, long ago, just like him & Steph. She asks where he went during the birthday celebration, he wonders how she overhears things from across the room. She persists, he says overhear, my foot. Tells her he was at Titan, some meeting for a project he & Stephanie had been working on some months earlier. He gets disgusted and leaves. She calls Ian, saying Philip probably used a titan computer, he needs Phil’s e-mail addy and name of server.
The gals return, loaded with shopping bags, Carly comes in, joins them, learns of the shower, figures it will be fun. Chloe laughs at how Melanie registered her with every shop in town. And now, in walks Vivian, delighted to hear about a shower, cannot wait. Melanie tells her she is not invited. Vivian pushes right in, she is Melanie’s step-mother-in-law and Chloe is marrying Victor’s godson. Melanie cannot take any more, leaves.
Vivian sits down, wondering why Carly & Chloe are such fast friends, ignoring the fact she paid people to mislead Chloe into hating Carly. And insisting there must be something else that is bonding them, what could it be.

Sami has decided that perhaps she should go to the hospital, Rafe is going with her. Meanwhile, Stefano is impatiently waiting, wanting to see his son. Daniel has to go check him first. Lexie tries to keep Stefano calm, Bo has come in, learns they got the bullet, it was sent to forensics. Stefano is blowing a lot of hot air, threatening, accusing, etc. Bo comments on all the enemies EJ has made, Stefano is insulted that Bo might think for a minute he would hire anyone to do in his son. Bo tells him it would not be the first time. LOL. In walks Sami & bingo, a new face to accuse. Rafe defends her, tells of how she was with him. Sami tells Stefano that when EJ comes to, he will be able to tell everyone who did it. Carly comes out, says EJ is steadily improving, it is looking good. Sami is getting coffee, Kate walks over, whispers they have to talk, about the phone call. Sami says not now, or here. Kate walks away. Rafe has observed. Lots of little scenes among all the characters. Kate is outside, Bo has come looking for her, wonders if she remembers anything, she repeats about she & Stefano being on the yacht all night. He gives her his card, in case she thinks of something. Bo is back at the hospital, has gone into EJ’s room. Daniel is checking the chart, comments how last night he had to pull him off of Nicole, was trying to kill her. Bo’s ears perk up, but Daniel assures him Nicole was with him & Chloe all night, with a bunch of FBI agents outside the door.

Stephanie calls Titan, making up a story about not getting e-mails about something or other, gets Philip’s e-mail addy and the name of the current server (they evidently switch them around constantly), calls Ian with the info.

Earlier, Vivian eavesdrops as Victor calls Maggie, knowing she is packing, wanting to see her on some foundation business before she leaves, but Maggie puts him off. She works on her laptop, as Melanie comes in, drops all her “shower shopping” packages, tells Maggie about Vivian trying to horn in. They talk about Maggie’s trip, going it alone, Melanie worries, Maggie assures her she will be fine. She leaves, in comes Philip, who hears about Vivian, who is insisting on coming, even tho she was told she was not invited. Philip agrees it is not o.k. at all.

Back at the hospital, the sound of one of EJ’s machines is heard, everyone is looking thru the window, Carly eventually comes out, saying he was going into shock over the loss of blood, they were transfusing him, that should do the trick. Stefano is roaring as usual, telling Lexie that no matter what, no matter the cost, or who has to be brought in, everything possible to save his son must be done. He will take care of everything. Ooops, Lexie is looking over papers, tells everyone that it is not up to Stefano at all. That EJ is a lawyer, very thorough, and drew up papers he faxed to the hospital, with a living will and naming Sami as the person in charge of making health decisions for him, should he be unable to do so. Shock all around. Sami is floored, she doesn’t want this, Stefano is beside himself. Lexie figures EJ thought he & Sami would be married, so this is why.
Stefano is roaring that it could be set aside, Sami agrees, where does she sign. Lexie says it is possible but would require going to court. Stefano is one the phone in a jiffy, will get a judge down there immediately, two if necessary.
Now Stefano is yammering at Sami again, insisting she wants EJ dead. Rafe reminds him she was with him all night. Stefano retorts yes, asleep. And looking straight at Sami says that whoever did this to EJ will pay, they will die…..in pain……..and alone.

Episode #11,412 Taped 7/14 Director – Herb Stein

Lots of “filler” today, in my opinion, plus the obligatory flashbacks, of course. The first 4 minutes are repeat scenes from Friday’s show (just so you had not forgotten, after the long weekend). Rafe asking Sami to marry him, Stefano ordering Daniel to save his son’s life, even if Daniel is Victor’s godson, Daniel ordering the staff to page Carly, and get the O.R. ready, stat. We definitely take a tour of Salem today. So, now we are in the O.R., everyone is in scrubs, caps, masks and gloves, and guess what? A nurse begins to shave EJ”s head. Is that REALLY done in the O.R.? I thought everything was supposed to be so sanitary and the reason for caps is to prevent hairs from flying around. O.K. on with the surgery. Carly is assisting, hands Daniel the scalpel (isn’t he lucky, no student nurse for him!). They talk of the bullet being in the frontal lobe, lucky EJ is was just 22 caliber, uh, oh, sub dural hematoma. Worse now they are losing him, he is coding. Bring out the paddles. Sigh of relief, that worked, he is back in sinus rhythm, they can proceed. Ahh, Daniel removes the bullet, it goes into a bowl.

Nicole has the TV on, but no news about the shooting of EJ. She decides she is going to the hospital, Chloe tries to talk her out of it, to no avail.

Out in the hall, Stefano is in his full DiMera mode, pacing, anxious, threatening nurses because they have no news. Kate calms him down, he cannot go bursting into the O.R. now. Bo arrives, wants to talk, Stefano grits his teeth, turning away, saying not now. Bo tells Kate that with the number of people wanting EJ dead, he’d have to rent a stadium in order to question them all, lololol, but for now he wants to know who had access to that fortress they call a home. Kate tells him she & Stefano spent the night on the yacht, the staff knew they were not there. She flashes back to calling Sami, says she thinks she knows who did this. Stefano comes back, hears this, gets upset at Kate, but she talks of the scene on the dock with Victor. Bo is not convinced, but Kate tells of Maggie being able to confirm the confrontation. Stefano tells Bo whoever did this is going to pay big time.
Cue Nicole to arrive, with Tim & Chloe right behind her, and Stefano roars at her that she did this, she is going to pay. Nicole tells of EJ trying to kill her last night, Stefano doesn’t believe her, but she has Daniel Jonas as the man who stopped it, the FBI agents guarding her, the one agent who EJ also tried to strangle, and that she was at Daniel & Chloe’s all the rest of the evening, with several guards right outside the door.

Sami is watching the news, Rafe comes in with cups, turns it off, she doesn’t need the news before morning coffee, suggests they go see the kids. Next they are at the Pub, Caroline congratulating them welcoming Rafe to the family, is very happy for them both. She says the girls are sleeping, out runs Johnny, happy to see Mommy. Hugs, big time. Sami now tells him she has good news, Rafe is back, they are all going to be together now, she & Rafe are getting married. Johnny says “my daddy is not going to like that”. LOL. Sami says it isn’t going to be a problem, they are all going to be together, she & Rafe are getting married. Rafe & Sami are both kneeling down to Johnny’s level, Rafe talks of them all going camping together, playing football. Johnny is grinning, wanting to know if he can come to Rafe’s office. Rafe says heck, you can be king of my office. Johnny gives him a big hug.

And let’s take a quick side trip to Stephanie’s apt. where Ian has just arrived, Stephanie begs, pleads, wheedles….wants Ian to break into St. Mary’s system again, and see if Philip is the one who changed the results. Ian is reluctant, why is it so important. she whines some more, talks of how Philip gave away his first child…frankly, she didn’t make much sense, but she evidently convinces Ian, who agrees, and she leaves.

Nathan runs into Chloe on the docks, makes a bit of small talk, but gets Chloe’s dander up when he brings up her one night stand. Chloe gets indignant, tells him to shut up, informs him of her paternity test, tells him he is rude and insulting. He tells her he did promise not to say anything to anyone, and he won’t, he leaves.

Brady is looking thru the mail, Victor comes in, tell him of trouble with DiMeras, that he is sending Vivian to Tahiti for safety sake, that perhaps Brady should make himself scarce, too. Brady isn’t going anywhere, mentions his talk with Maggie (Vivian is eavesdropping) warning him about Victor. Wonders if Victor is just using this as an excuse to get Viv out of the way, so he is free to pursue Maggie, and it will not work. Brady leaves, Victor calls Maggie, telling her that he was thinking about the scene with Stefano last night, and he thinks Maggie should go on her trip after all. Maggie sweetly says she never changed her plans in the first place.
Viv comes into the room, telling Victor she is not going to Tahiti, she married him for better or for worse, is going to stand by his side. And besides, she wants to make sure the transition of Isabella’s remains goes smoothly.

Melanie is looking through Maggie’s cookbook, Philip comes in, loves that she wants to emulate Maggie. He wants to perhaps have a party for Chloe & Daniel, celebrate the baby, surprising Melanie, who remembers his solemn face when he first heard. He claims Chloe is a good friend, been thru a lot, cancer, chemo, etc. he was worried it might not “take”. But all is well now, so….Melanie suggests she throw Chloe a baby shower, Philip thinks this a good idea, Chloe will love it.

Back at the Pub, Caroline has taken Johnny to wake up his sisters, Bo arrives, telling Sami & Rafe that EJ was shot last night. Sami turns white, can’t believe EJ is dead. Bo did not say that, he only said EJ was shot, he is in surgery right now. Sami drops the glass of water Bo has brought her (she is seated at a table), apologizes, Rafe goes to get towels to mop it up. Bo asks Sami where she was last night, she just looks at him. Rafe has returned, says he can answer that, she was with him all night. Bo asks Rafe if she ever left, he says no, she was there all night. Sami is still trying to grasp the news, mumbling about him being the father of two of her children. Then says she didn’t know how she was going to tell them he was dead, and is glad she won’t have to.

Back to the hospital, Stefano is pacing, Lexie arrives, sorry she was off duty when all this happened. He wants her to go in, tell him what is going on, but out comes the solemn Daniel, his news delayed by a commercial. (!). He tells Stefano, finally, only that his son is alive, tells Bo they got the bullet, it was sent to forensics, then goes off with Lexie & Stefano to talk. Kate again contemplates her call to Sami, telling herself perhaps she made a mistake. Daniel is explaining to Stefano that they really do not know yet what sort of damage may have been done. It will take a few days. Lexie tells her father they just have to wait.
Stefano, Kate & Lexie are all together now, as Carly comes out of EJ’s room. “I have news”. Last shot is of EJ, lots of tubes and wires, machines.

The previews for Tuesday (will be up on Monday a.m.) show Stefano tellling Kate that whoever did this to Elvis will pay, the O.R. where machines are beeping, and EJ is coding, a nurse says they are losing him...and Bo asks Sami where she was last night. Episode #11,411 Taped 7/12 Director – Herb Stein

Chloe is having tea with Nicole, assuring her all will be much better, it is the middle of the night, things will be looking much different in the morning. Nicole is happy for Chloe, she is having a baby, knows now it is Daniel’s, she will be having everything she ever wanted. She asks about Brady, Chloe says he was happy for her, mentions he was drinking. Nicole figures he will be o.k. once he completely gets her (Nicole) out of his system….sort of breaks down as she talks of what a sweet and wonderful guy he is, how she messed up, and then thanks Chloe for being her friend, saying both Chloe and her mother are the only two people who really know Nicole and accept her for how she is.

On the pier, Victor claims that he & Stefano were just discussing business, Maggie says it sounds like they were threatening each other, Victor says two old men were just posturing, Stefano heartily agrees, notes the launch coming back for him & Kate, they leave. Maggie tells Victor she didn’t believe him for one second, that they were talking, he got a phone call, and turned into another person, one she doesn’t know. He asks if she followed him there, that she should not be out and about alone. She can take care of herself. Victor doesn’t think so, especially traipsing all over the world alone.

Brady is talking with Vivian in the mausoleum, telling her to leave his mother alone. She is brightly assuring him how his mother will be resting comfortably for eternity in the sarcophagus, insisting Victor thinks it a lovely idea. Brady is not happy at all, but figures if his grandfather approves, it is all right. He leaves, Gus arrives with some new tape recording equipment. She tells him of her rather unpleasant encounter with Brady. Gus learns Brady comes to visit his mother, tells Vivian that Brady would be very disturbed if he found out his mother’s remains are now resting next to those of a long haired Chihuahua named Pookie in the Happy Hunting Pet Cemetery. (Oh, Vivian, what have you done?…and poor Pookie!)

Sami is quiet, claims to have had a bad dream, Rafe comforts her, tries to get her to tell him about it, she doesn’t remember it. She tells him how much she loves him, they begin to kiss, and we leave them.

And guess what, a new day has dawned in Salem, right in the middle of the show.

Bo, Ciara & Carly arrive down by the lake, Bo has a fishing rod in hand, talks of fishing first, Carly holding a minnow trap, mentioning catching some in this. Ciara wants her mommy to come back. She asks Bo if he sent Mommy away so he could be with Carly. LOL. He kneels down, trying to explain that Mommy was sick, had to go away to get better. Ciara wants to know if Mommy had a fever. Bo is at a loss, but Carly takes over, telling her about medicine that makes you sleepy, her mommy took some, but it made her act differently, reminding Ciara of how her Mommy wasn’t believing what she said, etc. Ciara nods, Carly tells her she has a little girl of her own, wasn’t able to spend the time she should have with her, so knows what it is like, and would never ever want to cause another little girl not to have her mommy around. Later, Carly & Bo are sitting in beach chairs, Ciara playing off in the distance. Carly says she loves Bo, but knows how upset he has been over Hope, not being there for her. She talks of how he was there for her when she needed him, but she is now in a good place, and ready to do whatever he wants of her, even if means them being apart. Just tell her what it is he wants her to do.

Stefano & Kate arrive home, unable to find Elvis, who apparently is not there. Stefano comments he is not in his room, his bed not even slept in. Kate calls Caroline, learns she sent Will off to first day of school this morning, that Allie, Johnny & Sydney are all awake and fine this morning. Stefano is happy to know the kids are all still there and safe. They wonder about EJ, Stefano gets an idea, finds an empty booze bottle on the stairs, and goes up, enters the bedroom, glad to find EJ. He starts talking to him, comes around the side of the bed, and sees the blood and wound. (Joe Mascola is fantastic here). He pulls out his hankerchief, wiping the blood, but speaking all the while in Italian. Madre Mia, (I don’t understand Italian, sorry), he is bending over him, gathering Elvis in his arms, saying morte’, morte’ (and I know that means dead). Kate has come in, shocked, then yelling at Stefano to tell her what he is saying. Stefano replies, he thinks Elvis is dead. She calls 911, they are asking questions about pulse & heartbeat, Stefano grabs the phone, screaming into it that this is Stefano DiMera, his son may be dead, and if they don’t get an ambulance here right now, “you will be dead”. He throws the phone to the floor.

Daniel sits on the sofa, looking at picture frames, Chloe comes out (I swear her tummy has gotten a bit bigger overnight), she talks of sleeping later than she intended. Out comes Nicole, all dressed, baggage in hand, intends to design her own WP program, some place with sunshine and cabana boys, figures her bank accounts won’t be frozen forever, but meanwhile, needs to borrow enough for plane ticket. Chloe says of course, Daniel says NO, telling her it is not the money, but she is not leaving town, reminding her Anna DiMera tried that, and when was the last time you talked to her. Also noting the DiMeras have contacts all over the world. She is safer right here. His phone rings, he is shocked, hangs up, tells the women he has to operate on EJ DiMera, who has been shot.

Vivian opens the door to Gus who gives her an envelope filled with the forged letters from Maggie. Vivian thanks Augustine, as she calls him, lol, hurries him back out the door, reads one of the letters, pronouncing it perfect, tucks it back inside the envelope as Victor appears. He asks what she was reading, she says papers from her lawyer, he tells her he has arranged for her to go to Tahiti. Seems Stefano has broken the terms of their agreement, there will be trouble, he wants her out of harm’s way. Viv is touched, Victor really cares about her. She talks of wanting to make sure about the Isabella memorial, Victor is insistent she leaves right away, his private jet, all expenses are paid.

Maggie & Brady arrive at her house, sitting down to have coffee. He doesn’t want her worrying about him, he isn’t on drugs, but she notes he is drinking. So what, not a problem, then tells her she really doesn’t know him. Oh, yes she does, she WAS him. She talks of trying to escape her problems with booze, it doesn’t work. She reminds him that addictions come in different forms. He thinks she is talking of Nicole, but she isn’t. She is talking of Victor, his wanting to control. She advises Brady to move out of Victor’s house, find himself a job elsewhere. Brady doesn’t think his grandfather would like that. She comments she has been reading all about the ancient Greeks, trying to understand Victor a bit better. Did you know they waited 10 years…..10 years outside Troy…so they could win?

EJ is brought into the hospital on a gurney, evidently still alive, pulse thready, lost a lot of blood, but the nurse advises “he was laying on a pillow, which caused compression”, which seemingly saved him. Daniel order the O.R. stat, wants Dr. Manning paged to assist, orders at least 6 pints of blood on standby. Stefano says they can have all of his blood, how ever much they need.

Rafe’s bedroom is awash in light, Sami is dreaming of shooting EJ, with Rafe coming up behind her, asking her “Sami, what have you done”? She awakens with a start, Rafe is there telling her she had another bad dream. Sami talks of how 24 hrs. ago, she was going to marry EJ, berating herself for all the time she wasted, her pride and stupidity, how did not want to marry EJ, was doing it out of spite. Rafe talks of how he knew when EJ walked in with that baby, that he did it, and how determined he was to prove it. And how sorry he is he did not tell Sami this right away. She replies she would not have believed him then anyway. EJ had, by then, had her so convinced he was such a good guy. Rafe tells her how he spent so much time thinking, knowing that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. She laughs, she is so much trouble, so impetuous, her life is full of surprises. He replies his is a drag, and he’d like to be surprised. Now he gets out of bed, telling Sami she is just impossible. He opens the drawer in the bedside table, saying he wanted to save this for some time when they were on a deserted beach, takes a ring out of the box, telling her he cannot offer her a castle in Spain, but he will always give her a roof over her head, bring her coffee, rub her back, and be the one who is always there for her.
He kneels down on the side of the bed, asks Sami to marry him. Sami has been puzzled at what he was doing and now, cannot believe this. She talks of her life being such a mess, but Rafe wants to share that messy life with her. And now, he did ask her a question…she smiles, will I marry you? Yes, oh Yes, yes, yes. He slips the ring on her finger, hugs, kisses, come here, you, says Sami.

Boy, another rather riveting episode. Maggie has come to the Kmansion, wanting to see Brady, who is not there, Victor has no idea, but realizes Maggie is worried about him, even tho, as his sponsor, she cannot talk about him with Victor. The speak in generalities about addictive personalities a bit, then Maggie tells him she is planning to go on a trip, which is why she wanted to see Brady. She talks of not wanting to go anywhere she & Mickey ever went for months after he died. Victor jokes it must have been hard to find a restaurant in town, she smiles…telling of not even being able to sit at the kitchen table, of eating Thai food standing up at the counter…..Mickey hated Thai food. Victor gets a call, asks if it is a fact, tells Maggie to excuse him, it is business, and he has to go.

Stefano & Kate sit in the Pub, he is anxious to leave for the yacht which is ready…she doesn’t want to go until they talk. More conversation about losing grandchildren, Stefano assuring Kate all is going to be well. She wants to know what sort of plan Stefano & EJ have cooked up, he claims there is none. She thinks he is trying to get her out of the way, flashes back to overhearing Elvis say he was gonna take the children and disappear, then tells Stefano that knowing EJ, she thinks he might just plan to grab the kids and vanish with them. Stefano assures her EJ is going no where, he is dead drunk, the kids are here upstairs, Sami is with Rafe, and EJ will do nothing tonight.

Vivian is with Gus in the mauseleum, waxing ecstatically over her plans for Maggie Horton. She has had a hole drilled for the straw, the one she intends to use to feed Maggie thin gruel laced with alcohol. (gruel??? What is this …Oliver!? LOLOL) Gus has found her a handwriting forger, she has some of Maggie’s tacky stationery so a note can be left to Victor, and perhaps a couple of her friends, Viv knows there is not many. Gus claims that folks will worry when Maggie doesn’t reach her destination…Viv claims she will, eventually, older, wizened, and unable to remember where she has been or what happened to her. Now she starts dictating into a recorder the letter to Victor that will come from Maggie….filled with flowery prose. Gus warns her Maggie was a plain spoken woman, would not write like that. Vivian starts anew, but is not very convincing.

Brady sits in the Cheatin’ Heart, boozing it up, Chloe walks in, joins him. She is surprised he is drinking, he claims it is not drugs, he is celebrating, asks what she wants, she says a gingerale. He asks if she is on the wagon …nope…she leans back a bit, touches her tummy, says she is “on the nest”. Brady is happy for her, knows she always wanted a baby and the chances were so slim. Some small talk, he mentions Nicole being out of his life again, Chloe tells him about Chloe being at her place, fearful for her life. Brady claims Nicole is always fearful for her life, warns Chloe not to let Nicole screw up things for her, that is what she does, reminding her how Nicole did things to Arianna and to Chloe herself. Yep, but Nicole was the only person she could talk to when she was having a rough patch with Daniel, she is her friend…again.

Over at the apartment Nicole is upset as the booze bottle is empty, there is not more. She is ranting a bit, Daniel comes out, warns her about behaving. Tells her she is there because she is Chloe’s friend, but if she causes a single disturbance for Chloe, Nicole will be out on her butt. So, Nicole is sorry, but calls George in, wanting him to call Rafe. Nope, he is off duty, will call in the morning. Daniel goes back to bed (not really) as now Nicole sits on the sofa, looking at some baby book, remembering how she read to Sydney. Daniel comes out to find Nicole in tears, she talks about Sydney, her life with her, her miscarriage, how glad she is Sydney is now safely away from EJ, but how her life is such a mess, all these things happen, but she has learned to survive. Just like a cat…she is going to land on her feet again. Chloe returns, gets filled in with a very brief version of the events…EJ kidnapped Sydney himself, Nicole learned about it, Sami knows, EJ knows Nicole is responsible for Sami knowing, is after her, already tried to kill her. (Chloe commented about there being 9 guys out there). Daniel & Chloe go off to bed, Nicole paces. She is having a total breakdown here.

At DiMansion, we have a replay of yesterday’s ending scenes. Sami calling for EJ, coming into the bedroom, finding him apparently asleep, turning away, remembering Kate’s phone call, EJ proclaiming he loved her, his phone call to her saying Sydney was dead. The voices come together quicker, over and over, She turns back to to EJ, picks up the gun that is in his hand, stands and fires. The sound of the shot is muffled, the gun must have a silencer. She stands there, and we see EJ, blood all around the ear, on his right side. Sami stands, seeming frozen, as EJ’s body seems to shudder, the glass he had in his other hand drops to the floor, and shatters. Sami is staring, turns away, seeing herself in the mirror, EJ behind her on the bed, she looks down at the gun in her hand, draws in a breath and rushes out.
Next, Sami is down at the pier (and interestingly, while her her hair has been drawn up in a tight knot all this while, it is now down, loose) She stands there for a bit, then throws the gun into the river and leaves.

And here are Stefano & Kate, arriving dockside but the yacht is not there. Along comes Victor, who evidently dismissed the captain, told him to leave. Seems Victor has had a shipment of artworks stalled at the docks for 15 weeks, Stefano replies that it is because he had an important shipment that took precedence. Tsk, Tsk, Stefano has violated the terms of their agreement. So, now you are going to pay me back? Victor flashes back to telling Rafe about Nicole’s Achilles’ heel, in order to get info from her. I already have, replies Victor, who then mentions he heard about the interrupted wedding, knows EJ is back at the mansion crying in his champagne, and wonders whatever happened to Stefano the loving parent. You’d better get back in line. Stefano laughs…Or what? Victor replies “you don’t want to know”. Along comes Maggie…”but I do”, she says.

Viv is alone in the sarcophagus, dictating a message from Maggie to Melanie into her tape recorder, as in comes Brady. What the hell are you doing here. Vivian sweetly explains about the Isabella memorial, Brady has a fit. He asks if his grandfather knows about this….then tells her in no uncertain terms to leave his mother and her remains alone, do not touch them.

Sami comes into the darkened bedroom, slips back into bed with the sleeping Rafe. His cell rings, and there is Nicole, ranting at him about his ineffectual bodyguard. Rafe says he promised her protection for life, he will talk to her in the morning, he hangs up. Rafe sees Sami is awake, she says she had a nightmare, a really bad one. His phone rings again, Nicole is furious he hung up on her. He assures her again all is o.k. he will talk to her in the morning. A frustrated Nicole throws something at the fireplace, smashing it. Out comes Daniel & Chloe, Nicole is once again apologizing, she is sorry, she is sorry. Daniel is ready to toss her out, Chloe calms him, he says they should go back to bed, Chloe decides to make some tea for us girls, he leaves, Nicole cries into Chloe’s shoulder.
Back at Rafe’s, he is comforting Sami, assuring her all will be fine. He holds her, she looks up, telling him she loves him so much…kisses him. And the camera is back in DiMansion, long shot of the motionless EJ laying on the bed.

Down on the pier, Nicole is trying to reason with EJ, who is blaming her for all that has gone wrong for him today. She gives it right back to him, reminding him of what he did himself, but EJ is accepting no blame for anything. She talks of the grief and misery he put Sami through, her family, his family. How he took Sydney away from her mother and those who loved her, kept her away for months. How Johnny had to watch his mother being sad…..EJ is insisting he told Johnny everything would be o.k., but Nicole reminds him that Johnny had to see everyone sad & upset. She asks if this is how a DiMera is raised, to lie, cheat, be mean. EJ is yelling at Nicole to shut up, but she keeps it up. Finally he sits on Benchie, quietly telling Nicole he is sorry, he really is not angry at her, etc. She comes closer to him, he jumps up, grabs her by the throat with one hand, shouting at how he told her FOUR times to shut up, but she wouldn’t, now she will for keeps. Daniel comes round the corner, shoves EJ away from Nicole, tells him there is nothing he knows how to deal with drunks, and won’t hesitate to do so. EJ leaves.

Stefano & Kate are in the study, she is still harping on making sure Will knows she had no knowledge of EJ’s plot. Stefano insists he will fix it all. EJ comes roaring in, telling Kate to get out, then telling his father to get her out of here, we have family business to discuss. Stefano says nothing, Kate gives EJ a few choice words, then leaves. Stefano sticks up for Kate, and then Elvis tells him about the CD, how Nicole recorded it, gave it to Rafe, who played it for Sami. Stefano is surprised at this turn of events, his mind is racing, as EJ continues on, how he is going to take his children and disappear with them.

Sami & Rafe are talking in bed, she worries about EJ, that he will never stop. Rafe talks of Sami getting sole custody of the children, reminds her she has the disk, they do not have to go to court, just meet with EJ, ask him if he really wants Johnny to hear it, or Sydney when she gets older. He figures it will all be o.k. Sami is still nervous and upset, Rafe suggests some medicinal brandy, goes to get it. Sami’s phone rings, it is Kate, telling her that she just overheard EJ telling Stefano he is taking his children and disappearing with them tomorrow. Sami hangs up as Rafe returns, but yep, lies and says it was her gramma.

Meanwhile, Gramma is talking with Will, trying to get him to understand that the DiMeras lie through their teeth, that Stefano has not changed, that his mom was hoodwinked into moving into the mansion. Will is rather stubbornly refusing to believe her it seems, telling his gramma she has no proof.

Nicole sits with Daniel on Benchie, holding her throat, realizing that indeed, EJ wants to kill her, she is not safe. She thanks Daniel, who has called someone, making sure George will be back, tells him what a good guy he is, Chloe lucky to have him, talks of being in love with EJ at one time, in spite of him being so bad, comments how happy they were in the beginning, then breaking down as she remembers things changing after she had the miscarriage. She is crying on Daniel’s shoulder, George comes along, apologizing, asking if they are o.k. Nicole has told Daniel what EJ did in re: Sydney, how she recorded it, blackmailed him then gave the disk to Rafe. She knows her love of money has made her make wrong decisions, is crying again. They all go back to the apt., Chloe is gone, Nicole wants a drink, Daniel fixes one for them both, they sip a bit, talk, he goes to bed. She fixes herself another, takes a swig from the bottle to boot.

Stefano has suggested to Kate they get out of the house, maybe spend the night on the yacht, she wonders how wise it would be to leave EJ all alone. He will be fine, replies Stefano. They go to the Pub, Stefano again assuring Kate he is going to fix everything..adding because he loves her. He turns to go inside, Kate follows, muttering how all DiMeras do is lie. Stefano asks Caroline if William is there, but our feisty Brady mom tells him it is too late, William knows everything and Stefano is not going to be able to sway Will again.

EJ is screaming at someone to just get out (guessing it must be Harold or Mary or perhaps both), returns to the study, wandering around it aimlessly. He fixes himself another drink, flashing back to them all playing cards one night, looking at a set of framed pictures…..him & Sami, EJ & Johnny, Sami & Johnny, and one of Sydney all by herself. (and nary a glimpse of Allie or Will). He is alternately appearing angry, sad, mad, dejected, upset as he wanders. He flashes back to Sami’s tirade as she threw the ring at him, saying he would never see his children again. He starts to leave, goes back and opens the drawer in a table, taking out a gun. He goes upstairs, into what had been Sami’s bedroom, fingering the white nighty on the bed, looking at the picture sitting on the bedside table that Johnny drew of his “family”.

Rafe is sound asleep, Sami kisses his neck, then his shoulder, saying he has done so much for her already, she cannot let him get into any trouble because of her. She slips out bed, and is next coming into DiMansion, yelling for EJ, asking where are you. She goes into other rooms.
Upstairs, EJ is sort of playing with the gun, not playing, but handling it as if he is not sure what he wants to do. At first, we see him full on, but then we see his reflection in a full length mirror that stands across from the bed. Finally, he sobs slightly, takes a few deep breaths, grimaces, and puts the gun to his head.
Sami cannot find EJ downstairs, so heads upstairs, enters the bedroom, sees him apparently asleep on the bed. She yells at him to wake up, he is not taking her kids away from her, but there is no response. She sees the gun in his hand, stares at it, then takes it out of his hand. She turns away, and starts having flashbacks..of EJ telling her the ransom was a hoax, their baby was dead, then of him telling her he loved her, of Kate telling her what EJ was planning, the voices repeating over and over, all jumbling together. She turns, holding the gun with both hands, aiming at EJ….and fires.

A rather slow moving show today, but….a few interesting scenes. Just wish they did not hop around so much. J Philip has walked Melanie to her shift (don’t ask, doesn’t begin to make sense) as behind them, Nathan arrives at the nurses’ station. Kiss, kiss, she is in green scrubs, as is Nathan. They all greet one another, Melanie commenting that Nathan is going to do his first solo surgery. (Be happy YOU are not the patient!). Congrats, then Melanie asks Nathan about his elbow, and it all comes out how it was hurt while rescuing Melanie from the bad guy at the free clinic. Phil pulls Melanie aside, what’s with the secrets. She just says no big deal, no one was hurt, yada, yada. She would never keep anything from him, learned her lesson. Now all 3 are talking together again, and in comes cheery Mary Poppins…sorry, I mean Stephanie. Small talk, but Melanie tells her about Chloe expecting and how happy they all are, especially her dad. Time for the surgery, Nathan & Melanie take off to scrub up, are next in the O.R. with some nurse telling him that the only reason he is getting this chance is cuz his name is Horton. Oooh, downer, there. Melanie gives him pep talk, surgery begins, Nathan gets the scalpel, drops it, holding his arm, Melanie covers, he tells the other nurse he got a spasm, his hand is numb. O.K. next Melanie & Nathan are out of the O.R. scrubs, evidently he was able to do the surgery, did not request aid or anything. All is well.

Meanwhile, Philip has gone over to Chloe’s, just to say hi, happy about the paternity results and that they dodged the bullet. She tells him he cannot stay long, Daniel will be back, explains the luggage there is Nicole’s who is staying a few days, Phil warns her Nicole could be trouble. Chloe defends, Nicole is her friend, yada, yada, yada. Phil wants to know if Chloe told her anything, Chloe says no, of course not, but continues to defend her very good friend.

Stephanie sits on the sofa, flashing back to the different “DNA results” scenes with Ian. She grabs her keys, opens the door, there stands Ian. She wants to know if he can tell who changed those results, as she thinks Philip did it. And don’t ask me how….but suddenly she is on the pier, meeting Ian, evidently intending to work out some plan with him.

Arianna is berating Rafe, feeling bad for EJ, mentioning “all that Sami has done”. Sami returns, asking just how is she to blame for all this. Arianna stumbles around a few words, Rafe is shushing her, telling her to go comfort EJ if that is what she wants to do, she protests, he firmly tells her “later”, Arianna leaves. He & Sami leave. Later, Arianna is leaving a phone message for EJ, Caroline comes up, cannot believe what she is hearing. She gives Arianna what for, asking how she could possibly have any sympathy for EJ after all that he has done.

In the park, Kate is assuring Will that she knew nothing of what EJ had done until just now, Will says he believes her, then turns to Stefano asking him if he knew. Stefano repeats he was shocked when he heard today, what EJ had done. Will asks if he knew earlier, Stefano denies it. Kate & Stefano arrive home, she is warning him that Will had better not ever think she knew anything about this. Stefano is trying to reassure her, but Kate threatens to leave him, cuz she will not lose her grandson. Stefano threatens back about revealing her poisonous deeds. She retracts a bit, but Will is Lucas’s son, “my family” and if she loses him, Stefano will be very very sorry. Stefano again claims he will make it all right, he will fix everything.

Lexie comes into the bedroom, finding the despondent EJ, ready to read him a riot act, but one look at his face, awww, poor guy. He claims to be feeling homicidal, as usual not taking any responsibility for what he did. He starts ranting about Nicole, everything is her fault, he has now lost Sami forever. He is getting more and more angry, then storms out.

Daniel talks with Nicole down by the pier, George going off a bit to give them privacy. Daniel is warning Nicole not to cause any trouble, wants to know why she needs somewhere to stay, what is going on. Nicole does her usual yada, yada, yada, promising to tell him everything when they get back to the apartment. Meanwhile, she is going to get just a few things from her place. He takes off, she calls George (the FBI bodyguard), but it is EJ who comes up instead.

Will is at the Pub, talking to his dad on the phone, filling him in on what happened, telling him that Gramma did not know a thing….and then saying Stefano didn’t either. Gramma Caroline is right behind him, mouth dropping as she chides him, “you don’t honestly believe Stefano did not know about this”. Oh, Will is sure. Caroline reminds him of all the horrible things Stefano has done to his father, to the Brady family. She talks of him knowing everything that goes on, and further reminds him that it was EJ DiMera, and Anna DiMera, and does Will truly think that Stefano did not know about this?

Sami & Rafe are in his room, they are kissing, her sweater comes off, but Sami calls a halt. She cannot do this. She sits on the bed, talking of how she was going to marry EJ tonight, asking Rafe if he knew why. It was because she saw him kissing Nicole. She explains how she went looking for Rafe, but when she saw that, she rushed back,insisting EJ marry her right away. She is berating herself, how impulsive, rash, she is, that she thought she had grown up, matured, but she is still doing this. That she loves him so much. Rafe asks why she went looking for him…cuz she wanted him to stop her from marrying EJ. (This is really a good conversation). Rafe tells her he knows exactly how she is, after all they lived together in WP a long time. And that is who he fell in love with, tho it took him a long time to realize it. He admits he wanted her to change, but not really, cause then she would no longer be the woman with whom he fell in love. He never stopped loving her, ever. Everything he did, was for her. She talks (via flashbacks) of They begin to kiss..and..well, a few clothes come off…and ………..

Later, in afterglow, both are very happy. Sami falls asleep, so does Rafe, she is having bad dreams, is crying and saying no, no, not Sydney. Rafe wakes her up, trying to assure her she is safe, the kids are safe, but she says she was dreaming how she would never be safe, and EJ took her children away from her. Rafe says he will pay, Sami doesn’t think so, he never does. Rafe tries to promise he & her father will do everything they can, but Sami is not reassured. EJ will get off, he is a lawyer, he always gets around the law.

On the pier, a frightened Nicole faces EJ who rants about his interrupted wedding, how Rafe arrived with audio information that Nicole gave him. She denies this, backing away from EJ, warning him this is a public place, cops patrol all the time. He chases her around a bench.. EJ laughs, indicating that he took care of her bodyguard, making a choking sign. They are both yelling at each other, she accusing him of appearing on the surface as the doting father, loving his kids, but she saw what he did to Sami, You don’t care about them, & you go after people cause you are dead inside.

Stefano comes out of the bushes, glad he found Kate, asking Chad to excuse them. Chad takes off, Stefano comments how Kate left without saying good-bye, she gets indignant that she has to account for every minute of her day while Stefano has all his constant secrets. Before you know it, they are having a verbal war, she is sick of the secrets and lies, he reminds her he has always had his secrets. She yells about all the misery and pain EJ taking Sydney cost them all, he knows, as he also suffered. He didn’t know until afterwards. He talks of protecting those you love, especially your children, telling Kate she would have done the same, then hints about the secret he keeps about what she did. Kate flashes back to reading Chad’s birth certificate, and talking of Stefano being the father. Kate is so worried about losing her grandchildren, especially Will, who comes up just about then. Kate haltingly tells him about the wedding being called off, that Sami learned EJ was the one who hired Anna to take Sydney. Stefano yammers at how shocked they were, Will knows his mom was trying to call him, left lots of messages not to go home, to come to the Pub. Kate wants to explain further to him before he calls Sami back, but Will says no, he is calling his mother first.

Daniel tells Victor, in no uncertain terms he is tired of the way Victor talks to Chloe, and he is keeping her away from him. Victor tries to apologize, but Daniel is firm about it, and walks out, just as Vivian walks in. She babbles on about Isabella’s memorial, says something about knowing Victor would not want to be there for the re-internment but she will and will make sure it is all tastefully done. Victor just fixes himself another drink.

Nicole congratulates Chloe on her pregnancy, Nicole commenting how doctors told her there was almost no chance of her getting pregnant. Chloe smiles, “almost” being the operative word. Nicole is so happy for Chloe, then remembers it is Chloe’s birthday, has her open the gift she brought, looks like a nighty. Chloe thanks her, says she will save it for after the baby is born. Now Chloe is tired, wants to take a nap, Nicole asks if she can hang out there. Sure. Someone knocks on the door, it is George wanting to know if all is o.k. in there. Nicole has to explain it is her FBI bodyguard, protecting her from EJ who is angry with her, she will tell Chloe all about it later. She tells how she has no money, no place to stay, can’t pay her rent on her apt. Chloe invites her to stay in their guest room. Daniel returns, and is filled in, doesn’t seem too thrilled. Chloe send Nicole off to check out the guest room, explains to Daniel, who wishes she would have talked to him first. However, he is o.k. with it, will only be for a few days. He goes out for some take out, Nicole comes out, thanking Chloe for letting her stay. They again talk of the pregnancy, Chloe tells of the KNA test Carly had her take the baby is Daniel’s, and Carly has shut up about telling Daniel of her one night stand. Nicole is glad cuz it would have been a disaster, Daniel returns, wants to know what could have been a disaster. Nicole covers by saying she meant if they did not let her stay there. Now Nicole wants to return to her apt. for a few things, Daniel insists on going with her, despite her objections. Chloe had been getting plates out, Daniel tells her to start without them, they’ll be back soon. Nicole again protests, but Daniel insists, cuz they have to get a few things straight. LOL

Arianna chides EJ on what he did, but he is all for blaming everyone else. He decides he is going to go after Nicole, Arianna stops him, convincing him it would not be a good idea. She tries to understand whatever possessed EJ to do what he did, and now it is Samantha – he wanted to hurt her because she had hurt him. Arianna is appalled, because he hurt his children in the long run, especially Sydney, taking her away from family she knew and who loved her. EJ continues to rant…..not his fault, yada, yada. Arianna is sorry for him, he looks at Sami’s ring, laying on the table, babbles how happy they were going to be, finally asking her to leave. She does so, rather reluctantly, but again telling him she is sorry he is going thru this. EJ sits, staring at the ring, then goes upstairs into Sami’s bedroom. He sees the open box on the bed, the nightgown she was going to wear. A few wedding presents are here and there, still wrapped. He p:icks up a little gift box addressed to him from Sami, opens it. Just stares.

Over at the Pub, Sami is apologizing to Rafe, thanking him for what he did, calling herself a fool for letting EJ lie and manipulate her. He knew exactly what to say and do, causing me to not trust you. Rafe mentions EJ brought Sydney back. No, you brought her back, you never gave up, not for a second. I was such a fool, such an idiot, believing everything he said, I am sorry, truly sorry. You can say I told you so, if you want. Rafe thinks perhaps Sami might want to go tuck her kids in, he is going to leave. She stops him, saying she has no right to say this, it is much too soon, but she wants him to know this….how much, how very much she loves him. Rafe tells her he never stopped loving her, never. Sami smiles thru her tears, goes up, wrapping her arms around him. They kiss, as Caroline comes out, clearing her throat a bit, telling Sami the children are asleep, Allie fell asleep right away, Johnny was a bit resistant, but finally closed his eyes, and is fast asleep too. She leaves to give them some privacy. Rafe suggests they go to his place to talk. She agrees, they leave, and run into Arianna outside. Yes, she has heard the news…Sami gets a call from Will, takes it to the side. He lets her know he has heard about the wedding being off and why. She asks him to come to the Pub, but he has something to do first. They exchange I love you’s. Meanwhile Arianna is giving Rafe a hard time, telling him she just left EJ, who is a mess. Rafe cannot believe she is defending him, she claims not, but complains about all that Sami has done. Sami returns, says she heard her name, and how is all of this my fault.

Another very intense episode, and you do not want to miss a single frame of this one. Daniel & Chloe arrive at Victor’s, not at all happy when Victor is his usual uncharming self towards Chloe. He notes she seems to be gaining weight, she agrees, tells him she is pregnant, he asks who is the father. Daniel is getting annoyed, Choe replies that Daniel is, of course, Victor apologizes, claims he thought Chloe was barren, then, when Daniel explains it is just difficult for her to get pregnant, Vic claims he thought in vitro or something. Daniel assures him they are having this baby together, Chloe says something about God having blessed her and she has everything she ever wanted, which gives Vic the chance to get sarcastic about the tornado, floods, starving children, financial woes of the world, & how God ignores all that to give one person everything they wanted. Chloe retracts, said it wrong, Daniel is fed up, they are gonna leave, Victor tries to make them stay, apologizing again, saying their baby will be family, since Daniel is like a son to him. Chloe glances at a picture of Victor & Philip, says she is tired, Victor tells her perhaps she would not mind if Daniel stays so they can talk. She leaves, Daniel tells Victor he is sick and tired of the way Vic treats Chloe, and they will not be coming over, etc., adding how fragile Chloe is. Vic wonders why, she just said she has everything she ever wanted, she is with the man of her dreams, pregnant with his child, why is she so fragile?

Vivian is knocking at Maggie’s door, wants to talk to her about Victor. Maggie is not pleased to see her, Vivian starts talking of the sarcophagus for Isabells, Maggie rightly asks why this concerns her. Viv babbles about honoring Victor’s daughter, Maggie doesn’t get it, but Vivian persists, and finally asks her what funeral director she used for Mickey. Maggie is getting ticked, says she doesn’t remember, but has the bill upstairs with all the info on it. If she gets it, will Vivian leave her alone….and also, don’t make a habit of just dropping in. She goes out, Vivian spots travel brochures, stuffs them in her purse, commenting to herself that with Maggie planning on leaving, this will be easier than she thought. Melanie comes in, asking what Vivian is doing there. Viv says Maggie getting some info, but she has to leave, is just writing her a note, gives it to Melanie, and leaves. Maggie returns, Melanie explains Viv left, gives her the note.
Now Viv is at the mausoleum with Gus, raving at how beautiful the sarcophagus is, bragging how perfect her plan is, much easier than last time, and now, all she has to do is write a letter from Maggie to explain her absence from Salem.

Stefano & Kate are still at the Pub, with Stefano getting more upset, but refusing to tell Kate why. Finally, he tells her to get the children, they are leaving. Over at the cop shop, Roman is thanking Rafe, happy that Sami is not married to EJ. Rafe acknowledges, tho, that EJ is smart, he & Stefano have a lot of contacts, pay off a lot of people, have a lot of money, and he will undoubtably never do any jail time. But…..he is going to pay.

Nicole has left the Pub, after her encounter with Stefano, rushes back to her room, pulls out a suitcase from under the bed, and starts throwing things into it. She realizes she has to get out of town. Stefano, meanwhile, is calling Marko, has a job for him. Outside her door, a figure appears, so does that miracle side glass window. LOL. Nicole is busily packing, hears a noise, turns out the light…..(O.K. is this stupid or what?) rummages in a drawer, pulls out scissors and hides behind the door. A man now enters the darkened apt. (like he had not seen the light on and Nicole thru that window) and walks slowly thru the apt., turns, facing Nicole, who begins to scream. He turns the light on, flashing a badge, he is FBI, her guard, seems Cooper asked to be transferred to another case, as he did not want to be responsible for someone who does everything to get herself killed. This is George McKee, who could not believe Nicole would be stupid enough to try and hide in her own apt. She isn’t, she just came for a few things, is getting out of town. Ooops, no she isn’t, she is on the phone, learning all her accounts have been frozen, she figures EJ has been mighty busy (tho I cannot see where he would have had time, lol). She doesn’t know what she is gonna do, she doesn’t even have enough money to pay rent on this dump.

And now to the DiMera study, where EJ is begging and pleading with Sami to ignore what she heard on the CD. Oh, no, she heard every word. So now EJ tells her she has to understand, since she herself did all kinds of awful things to those she loved, and then look what she did to him, how she hurt him, keeping her pregnancy from him. Sami is appalled, she trusted him, and all he does is lie to her. He goes on at how, in the end, he could not hurt her any more, he loves her, he could not leave with the children. He goes on and on about being a changed man, the man Sami wanted him to be, and how she has changed, too, how happy they have been, how she was about to marry him right in this room. He is on a roll here, insisting she loves him, he loves her, that all is well, as he gets down on one knee in front of Sami, again asking her to marry him.
Sami’s face changes as thru clenched teeth she spits out that last night, she went to Rafe, whom she loves. But she saw him kissing Nicole, so rushed back here, and in usual rash Sami fashion, insisted on marrying EJ today. It wasn’t cuz she loved EJ, it was revenge against Rafe, because she loves him. And she is leaving this house, taking her children and he is never going to see them again. Stefano has walked in, wanting to know what is going on, as Sami is angrily repeating to EJ, that she is taking her children tonight, and he will never see them again. Over my dead body, says Stefano. And Rafe walks in, telling them if he tries to stop Sami in any way, it WILL be over his dead body. LOLOL. Sami storms out. Kate comes in, asking what is going on. Rafe tells her how EJ paid Anna DiMera to take Sydney. Kate is astounded, cannot believe it, why, why would he do that. Revenge for Sami not telling him she was pregnant.

Sami comes down, holding Sydney in her arm, Johnny & Allie by the hands. As they get to the door, EJ comes out, calling Johnny over, to hug and say goodbye, promising to see him soon. Sami is hustling them out, EJ stops her, saying she did not give him a chance to say goodbye to Sydney. “Just like you didn’t let me”, and she leaves, followed by Rafe. EJ returns to the study, Stefano is demanding to know what the heck happened, Kate is realizing Stefano knew about this, he tells her to give him & Elvis some privacy, she leaves in a huff. EJ finally tells Stefano it is because of Nicole, explaining how she came over a couple weeks ago, overheard Stefano & EJ talking. Stefano guesses EJ gave her money, but is having a fit that EJ did not tell him. EJ says it is his problem.

Roman is telling Caroline how Sami called off the wedding to EJ, as behind him, Arianna comes in. She hears him tell about EJ kidnapping Sydney himself, and takes off. Roman is telling Caroline that Sami & the kids need a place to stay til she gets back on her feet (guess the penthouse is sold, then) and Caroline says of course she can stay here, we have plenty of room. Rafe & Sami arrive with the kids, Roman asks if Will knows, Sami says no, she left a message for him to call her so she could tell him. She thanks her dad, is so sorry, he is just glad she is o.k. and is not married. She hugs him, thanking him.

Chloe answers the door to find Nicole standing there, with a gift for her birthday. Chloe invites her in, Nicole apologizes for not having been around much of late, turns, glances at Chloe’s tummy and says, whoa…I guess we have a lot to catch up on.

Kate is down by the lake, leaving a message for Will. Along comes Chad who was taking a walk. He figures she looks a bit upset, she was kind to him before, maybe she wants to talk. No, not really. He asks why she isn’t at the weddintg, Will texted him his mom was getting married. Kate relates the info, wedding was called off, she has been trying to reach Will, asks Chad to tell Will to call her, if he sees him. And now, out pops Stefano, say hello to Chad, asks him to give them privacy. Chad leaves. Stefano asks Kate what she was talking about to Chad.

EJ is about to go out the door, opens it, goes to grab his keys, turns, and there is Arianna. He shouts at her to go ahead, get her digs in, everyone else has.

Caroline tells Sami she & Roman are going to put the twins to bed, and they leave. Sami stands there, tells Rafe she doesn’t know what to say. He replies she doesn’t have to say anything. Yes, she does, replies Sami, quietly. She has to thank him……tonight he saved her….again. No need to thank him, says Rafe. Yes, I do replies Sami. She tearfully embraces him.

Ah, it’s here, the day is here. Yayyyyy. Sami finally listens to that CD. Rather intense show, tho. Melanie sits in the kitchen with some knitting needles and a ball of yarn, getting frustrated, mumbling some made up words. Maggie walks in asking her what she just said. “I can’t knit” and you don’t like swearing in the house. Maggie smiles, tells her then don’t knit. LOL. They exchange some lite banter, then Maggie talks of loving that Melanie & Philip has been there, but notes they are young, married, and should be having their own space. She tells Melanie she is thinking of leaving Salem for a while, visiting her children, and then taking that cruise she & Mickey talked about. She just wants to sit in her chair and think of, do nothing.

And there is Vivian in the mauseleum, exclaiming to Gus about her plan to put Maggie in the yet to be delivered sarcophagus, him trying to talk her out of it, Vivian calling him a “gloomy Gus” LOL, convinced her plan will indeed work. She is very confident with Maggie not around, Victor will soon forget she existed. She orders Gus to wait there for the delivery, while she goes to lure Maggie there.

At the courthouse, the judge is informed the State rests, asks defense to call his first witness, and Hope is brought in. She takes the stand, and the defense attorney begins questioning, but you would swear it was Hope on trial. He gets her name, her former position with the Salem PD, Bo Brady the Police Commissioner is her husband, Roman Brady, the Commander is her brother-in-law, both of whom were victims. Bo gets upset, stands and wants the questioning stopped, she has been through enough, the judge tells him to sit down or he will be removed from the courtroom. The defense continues, asking Hope if she ran a profile on the personality of the perpertrator, makes her read that the victims were not mugged for money but in anger. Dr. Baker is sitting, watching Hope read, shaking his head, his lips moving, saying no, no. Now the attorney really starts piling it onto Hope, asking about Baker, the innocent bystander. Of course, Hope does not remember him, but agrees that is what he was. Baker can stand no more, gets up, tells his attorney that is it, you are fired. The attorney ignores him, continues, but Baker says this trial is over, I am pleading guilty. He turns, looks at Bo ..and Carly, saying “and I am not the only one”. The attorney protests to the judge, who says it is the defendant’s right to be an idiot. Baker is led away. Her guard says Hope’s transport back to jail is not there yet, since this all ended so early. Roman wants to get back to Sami, Bo says he will stay. Carly has left, claiming to want to get back to the hospital. Bo talks a bit with Hope, she tells him not to worry about her, she is doing o.k. Her guard says her transport is there, Hope tells Bo that Baker knows the real Hope, but she doesn’t. Bo is indignant…no, he does NOT know the real you. Hope is led away.

Melanie bounces into the hospital, asking “Mom” if she knits, explaining about wanting to knit something for her little brother or sister, and is terrible at it (mind if I do a bit of eye rolling here?) and wonders if it is genetic. Carly admits she is not a domestic goddess, but claims to know how to tune up a car. Later, she is napping at the Brady home when Bo comes in, lays down, she wakes for a few seconds, he did not mean to disturb her, takes a nap himself. He is asleep, hears someone call his name, wakes up and Hope is bending over him saying “Bo, save me!”. Bo awakens with a jolt, looks over at the sleeping Carly. (Both are still fully clothed, in case you are wondering)

Stefano & Kate sit at the Pub, bemoaning spending the afternoon there, not knowing what is going on back at the mansion. Kate mentions having taken the kids for a walk, that now Johnny & Allie are enjoying the kitchen in back. Stefano looks worried, but won’t tell Kate why. Earlier, Nicole was on the pier, telling herself since she is still alive, EJ must not know what she did, and now she walks into the Pub, not too happy to see Stefano, but there is darling Sydney in the stroller, sucking on her lollypop. Nicole’s face changes as she remarks at how much Sydney as grown, Kate points her to the bar. Nicole wonders why they are there, since she heard EJ & Sami were getting married. Kate & Stefano stay mum, but he gets up, wants to know what she knows. She only says she was with Rafe, he got a call, seemed angry and took off. No, she doesn’t know anything, he doesn’t tell her what he is doing.

And now, over to the DiMera study, where EJ is doing his best to prevent Sami from listening to the CD. He keeps talking of Rafe having manufactured it, she should not listen to it, etc. Rafe smiles, like he could manufacture those two accents. EJ is insistent to Sami, begging her not to listen, she tells him she has to, she has to hear it. Rafe starts the CD, the beginning of the conversation between EJ and Stefano starts to play, with Stefano only mentioning “what EJ did”. Now Elvis says enough, slams his hand on the player, again entreating Sami to not listen, that it is all made up. Sami is now just as insistent that she needs to hear it, all of it, and EJ finally steps away in defeat, as Sami has Rafe play the rest. She listens, her face not changing much, and finally has heard enough. She turns to EJ, “you did this, you knew all the while, you did it”. Yes, he admits he did. She asks Rafe to leave, he wants her to come with him, they will give the disk to her father. EJ mutters it is not admissible in a court of law, Rafe gets in his face. That is all you have to say, all you are worried about, if it is admissible in a court of law? You made Sami suffer, your entire family, hers, your children, and you only can say it is not admissible. You should pay. EJ assures him he probably will.

Rafe leaves, runs into Roman down by the pier, tells him the wedding is off, gives him the CD, telling him it is the proof that EJ paid Anna to kidnap Sydney. And that Sami is dealing with him now.

Sami is talking of them being on the plane leaving Cleveland, how Nicole has sworn she did not know where Sydney was, how EJ acted when all the while he knew….he knew. Put his arms around her, comforted her. Whenever she would break down, he did the same, and all the while he just wanted a front row seat to her misery as he sought his revenge. EJ is yelling, so is Sami. He blames her, keeping his daughter from him. She replies “at least I did not tell you she was dead”. Oh, but you did….and goes on about not finding out Grace was his daughter until she was dead. Sami replies she was filled with grief and out of her mind…..but reminds him why she kept her pregnancy from him. It was not “revenge”, it was because of this house, this family, the evil within it, and all she wanted was to protect her child.
Now EJ pulls out all the stops, going on how happy they all were, asking her to remember the fun they had the night they went swimming. (he continually talks of Johnny & Sydney…her other children are never mentioned), and then playing cards with Johnny. He talks of them singing to Sydney, of them reading to Johnny…..all the happy family life.Was that not all love? Sami screams that it was all an act. Those are the happiest memories of my life, insists EJ. Then savor them, replies Sami, cuz they won’t happen again. He admits he wanted to pay her back, make her suffer, even telling her how he intended to take Sydney & Johnny away from her forever, but then could not do it…because he loved her once, still loved her. And that is why he asked her to marry him, so he can spend the rest of their lives making it all up to her for what he put her through.

Episode #11,404 Taped 6/18 Director – Albert Alarr

Ooooh, delicious episode, especially the first half, and the dialogue is full of zingers, conversation that will have you laughing, cheering, even a bit of clapping. LOL. We begin with the last scene in yesterday’s show, Sami telling Rafe she is sick of this thing he has with EJ, and Rafe telling her that it is over, turning to EJ, and saying again it is over, talking how for months he & EJ both knew what EJ had done, but that he had to get proof, cuz otherwise Sami would never believe it. EJ does his usual bluffing, then grabs Samantha, telling her not to listen to Rafe any more. Rafe smacks EJ’s hands away, telling him to take his hands off of her. Sami gets between the men, but tells Rafe that there isn’t anything he could say that is going to make her change her mind. Ah, but he has something, and pulls out a tape recorder, pressing it so they can all hear the beginning of Nicole’s “confession. Sami is not impressed apparently, Nicole is a liar, a b****, would say anything, she brings up Rafe’s roll in the hay with Nicole, he denies it, wasn’t what it looks like. He is reminds Sami he has never lied to her, he loves her, EJ has had enough, snatches the recorder from Rafe’s hands. Sami doesn’t believe anything, slaps Rafe. EJ tells him to leave NOW, but Rafe is not going anywhere, he is not done.

Vivian sits with Victor in the Pub, showing him pictures of the sarcophagus, the memorial to honor his beautiful daughter. Victor asks Vivian if she thinks Isabella was a Pharoh. LOLOL. Then tells her that she, Vivian is what the Greeks call……what is the word for it....crazy! He asks what ever made her come up with an idea like this, as Maggie walks in, Vivian spots her, replies “divine inspiration”. Victor calls out to Maggie when he sees her, asking her to come look at pictures of coffins. LOL. Viv babbles about them, Maggie says they are the most beautiful sarcophagi she ever saw, Viv talks of the soft silk pink interiors, Maggie comments that she never knew sarcophaguses came with such soft interiors. Victor finally reminds Vivian that Maggie doesn’t need to see all this, Viv remembers Mickey died only a few months ago, apologizes, Victor says Maggie needs to be able to eat her lunch in peace.

Evidently Viv has left the Pub, as she is on the phone, calling Gus who comes in…am guessing this is the mauseleum. She is laying on the floor, hands crossed over her chest, asking Gus how she looks. Dead, he replies. LOL. She gets up, now talking of Maggie being in the sarcophagus for all eternity, with her ugly red hair clashing with the that beautiful pink pillow.

In the courthouse, Bo sits with Roman, talking of how lucky Dr. Baker is to have drawn easy going Judge Davis for his trial. Roman leaves for a bit, Bo sits a few feet behind Baker, they go back and forth about Hope. Bo is blaming Baker for Hope’s woes, while Baker reminds Bo that he is the one who drove her to what she did. Bo knows that, intends to help Hope and stand by her. Baker tells him of Hope showing him their home, and he saw their daughter, and berates Bo for what he put her through. Carly has come in, and has heard some of the exchange, tho Bo did not see her. The judge arrives, Baker’s trial begins, Roman testifies, has to admit the person who confessed to the muggings is in custody, and is his sister-in-law. Defense also gets him to admit that Hope Brady was the detective in charge of the case, who accumulated the box of files on the muggings that he has on the table.
Now Bo testifies, Baker asks his attorney if the entire Salem PD all has the same last name. LOL. Bo talks of how Hope was a wonderful mother and wife, a loving and caring person, and how he knows his actions are what drove her to do the things she did. He still blames this money grubbing defendant for all that happened. He returns to his seat, Carly sitting beside him. The prosecution needs to check her notes…decides the state rests. Defense calls it’s first witness….and all are shocked, as Hope is brought in by the baliff.

At the K mansion, Brady enters the library, only to find Nicole waiting for him, all upset because EJ is going to kill her. He doesn’t want to talk to her, she is insistent, and proceeds finally to tell him about giving the CD to Rafe…then has to explain how she got it. When Brady hears that she knew what EJ had done, and told no one, instead blackmailed he he blows up, reminding her how Sami had taken her in, letting her live in the townhouse, and instead of telling the cops, she keeps the info to herself and gets money instead. She is whining about needing protection from EJ, he tells her to go to the cops, she is reluctant, as she would have to incriminate herself, he thinks she would be better off in prison….it is where she belongs. He takes off…..and there is Victor, coming in clapping his hands. Bravo. Here he was having just come from having to looks at coffin pictures, very depressing, to find Brady washing his hands of Nicole. He thinks he will havc a drink to celebrate. She doesn’t find it funny, EJ will be out to get her. Victor grins, asking if she will get cement shoes and be tossed in the river,,or a garotte….then says “how do I kill thee, let me count the ways”. LOL. Nicole is about to storm out the door, when Victor says something about Rafe Hernandez accomplishing his goal. This stops her in her tracks…as Victor grins, asking if she wasn’t curious as to who put Rafe onto her. “It was MOI, says Victor…told him all your vulnerabilities. Call Vivian, she will help you pick out your coffin.

Brady walks into the Pub, orders a scotch on the rocks as Maggie comes up. He doesn’t want to see her, didn’t know that sponsors hung out in bars. Maggie sits in front of him, she isn’t going away, he tells her this is not coke, just a drink, she wonders just what sent him to the bar needing one, reminding him the people like “you & me” are not the same as others, and suggesting that perhaps they both need to go to a meeting. Brady has changed his order to club soda & a twist of lime, and now, tho a bit reluctant, agrees with Maggie, they should go to a meeting. (and perhaps when he gets home, he could shave! )

And back to the DiMera study, where EJ’s frown and downturned mouth seems glued into place. He already tried to tell Sami that Rafe had manufactured stuff, which Rafe denied, he doesn’t have to manufacture anything. If that was the case, he would have done it long ago, would not have gone half way around the world, trying to prove what he knew. Sami is clearly conflicted, it shows in her face. Rafe reminds her how EJ said he’d do anything to keep his children from her, remember, Sami, At Grace’s funeral. EJ confesses that yes, he was angry back then, but he has changed, he loves her, asked her to marry him. Rafe just continues on, at how EJ is the one who brought Sydney back, but never explained about it, tho they asked. Rafe asks Sami to remember that night, she does, they were at the Pub. Rafe talks of how EJ called her, told her Sydney was dead, had to get one last bit of satisfaction, then an hour later, walks in with Sydney. Where did he find her, how did he know where to go…he never told, did he? EJ again is ready to toss Rafe out, but Rafe says,….oh, there is more. Pulls out the CD, going over to the player. EJ tells him to get away from there….but Sami says no…..and just like in the movie “Casablanca”……Play it, Rafe, play the CD.

Episode #11,403 Taped 6/23 Director – Albert Alarr

Pretty slow show today, with not much movement at all. Carly comes knocking on Chloe’s door, saw Daniel’s car was gone, wanted to give her the good news in person. Daniel is the father of Chloe’s baby. Chloe is so happy, hugs, thank yous, etc. Outside the door, Daniel stops, tells himself that it is done, and all that is important is for Chloe to be happy. He goes in, wonders why Carly is there, she talks of bringing a birthday gift for Chloe, he asks where it is, then. We get all these guilty looks, but she pulls a box from her purse with a silver teeth ring for the baby. Chloe is so happy, goes to call her parents, giving Daniel & Carly time to do a few hugs, she is happy he gets to raise his own child this time, he assuring her all is fine with him, Melanie & her. Water under the bridge.

Stephanie sit with Ian, wondering who the heck could have changed those DNA results she does a bit of guessing and discarding of names, finally saying it could be someone she doesn’t even know. And there sits Nathan with his laptop, a nurse comes by, ask him something about what he was doing (a baseball game???) he closes his laptop, telling her she can’t see his statistics. He comes home, not too happy to find Ian there again, Stephanie claiming Ian was installing a firewall, Ian having forgot to do so yesterday. Ian takes off, Nathan says he figures that the new software p;rogram at the hospital is difficult for everyone, and that was really why Stephanie had him over. She sighs with relief, pretending he is right. And next is a roll in the hay, or scrumping session…take your pick. Stephanie tho, worries that if the baby might need something in the future, that having the wrong father indicated…could be a problem for the baby. She starts to tell Nathan she hasn’t been honest, has kept some things from him, he doesn’t seem to care, says everything starts now for them, and they go for round 2. Later, she is asleep, his arm around her, he is stroking her hair, but looking mighty pensive.

And let’s not forget the wedding that has yet to be finalized over at DiMansion. Sami is yelling at Rafe, scolding him for barging in. He is insisting he has to talk to her, she runs off at the mouth about him saying all he had to say already, that he has moved on, so has she. Stefano does his best to get Rafe to leave, EJ tries to act big cheese, but stoic Rafe just stands there, he is not leaving until he talks to Sami, and all he wants is 5 minutes. Eventually Roman steps in, on Rafe’s side, convincing everyone to just be quiet, give Rafe his 5 minutes, the wedding can continue, all will be fine. O.K. Sami will give him 5 minutes, and goes out into the foyer with Rafe, shutting the door behind them, but definitely not shutting her mouth. Cannot tell you how I wanted someone to come alone and stuff a sock in it, lol. She goes on and on about Rafe & Nicole, how she saw them, how she had begged him to come back to her (when was that???). Rafe tries to tell her that whatever she saw with him & Nicole was all a lie, but Sami blathers on and on, he tells her this is not about him, is about Sydney. That stops Sami, but doesn’t deter her, even as Rafe says EJ is not a good father or he wouldn’t use his children the way he does, to lie to and manipulate their mother. Sami insists …yep…”EJ is a good father”, she has lived there for months, has seen for herself. She finally tells Rafe to leave, opening the door. Rafe, tho, tells her that she was to give him 5 minutes, and in the name of Grace, and all she meant, he needs her to hear him out.
Inside, the “guests” have been roaming around, wondering what is going on. Stefano asks EJ if Rafe could possibly have learned about the subject of which they cannot speak. Nope, could not happen. Will has taken the kids outside, then up to some room, watching a movie. Roman is outside with the judge, Kate & Lexie chatting a bit.. Lexie gets a call to the hospital, has to leave, tells Stefano to stay calm, and leaves.

Philip has come into the kitchen, joining Melanie who closes her laptop, telling him she was offered a job at St. Mary’s but after being there, she thinks she’d rather stay where she knows everyone, and feels more comfortable. So she turned it down. Philip gets a text from Chloe, tells Melanie Chloe wants them both there, and off they go. And now they arrive at Daniel’s, joining Carly & Daniel. Out comes Chloe in a lovely white dress, which plainly shows she is pregnant. They are all toasting with cider, Chloe happy as a clam, she & Daniel having this wonderful baby, being born into this fantastic family. Carly smiles, still looks a bit pained, tho. Chloe says her parents were on Cloud 9 when she told them, and Daniel tells her of the special thing he arranged, which is why he left while she was sleeping. Seems he has a friend with box seats at the Lyric Opera, arranged for them to see the last performance of the season…Carmen…, they have a suite on LakeShore Drive (hmm, someone has been to Chicago, knows their way around) and also has arranged for a special tour of the Art Institute. Chloe is ecstatic. Everyone toasts with sparkling cider.

Back to the wedding that has yet to be finalized….as a very serious Sami enters the study, is sorry, but she has to ask everyone to leave, everyone except EJ…he stays. Roman suggests they go to the Pub, drinks on the house, a bit of protest, EJ finally says to take the kids and get ice cream for everyone. The gang leaves, Sami stands by EJ’s side, telling Rafe that no matter what he says, she is still marrying EJ…who moves off to sit in a chair. Rafe is still beating around the bush, then asks Sami to look at EJ, who he thinks is trying to read the situation, planning what he will say. Sami doesn’t buy it, says something about Rafe no longer caring about her, but he has never stopped caring, and she will see that when she hears what he has to say. She tells him she is sick to death of this thing he has about EJ, sick of it. He turns to EJ, talking of how for months he has been working on this, knew what EJ did, but needing proof, ‘cause Sami would not believe him without proof. He followed a lot of dead leads, but tho it took him a long time, he has it now, he finally has it. It is over, EJ. It is all over.

And the wedding continues, with Judge Fitzpatrick eventually getting to the part where “if there is anyone here who objects, let them speak now……” Kate leans over to Stefano saying this is the part in Sami’s weddings where someone usually bursts in and stops it all. LOL, as there is very loud pounding on the door. Everyone tries to ignore it, but the pounding just gets worse. Since the servants are with “the children”…(let me stop here and just tell you all that Allie & Johnny seem to disappear and appear in the scenes sporadically, tis tooo funny) Kate goes to answer the door, and Roman is striding in. Stefano has a fit, tis his son’s wedding, Roman tells him to ease up, he is not there to arrest him. Sami goes to stand in front of EJ, like she is protecting him or something, lol, but it is not EJ either. Tis Sami herself, which flabbergasts everyone. Roman figures this is the only way to protect his daughter, bring her to her senses, he will think of a charge on the way down to the station. The judge goes out in the garden to give everyone “family time”, Sami makes this big speech to her dad, telling him how much EJ loves her, she loves him, she wants to make a life with her children, have everyone happy, yada, yada, yada. Roman asks about Rafe, Sami flashes back to seeing Rafe & Nicole thru that window along side her door (Maybe it is sort of a 2-way, one can see IN to the apt. but one cannot see out??? Probably installed improperly. LOL) Roman caves, apologizes, is about to leave. She follows him to the foyer, begging him to stay for her wedding, it would mean a lot. He agrees and goes back in. Lexie has apologized to EJ saying if she had not told Abe, Roman would not have known, and goes out to the garden to see what is keeping Kate & the judge. Stefano takes the opportunity to ask EJ if there is any way anyone could know about him kidnapping Sydney. EJ shushes him, glancing over at Will, assures him all is well. Soon, everyone is assembled back in the room. (Also, when you watch the show, keep an eye on Will, his reactions to all the commotion are a delight to watch)

Stephanie has gotten Ian to come over again, and hack into St. Mary’s. And tho he once again appeared at her door with hair hanging down, it is now tied back again. LOL. Yep, consistency is what shows. LOL. He hacks into the computer, Stephanie has a fit, her world is crashing, the results show “negative” match with the DNA. She rushes out, is in the park/pier crying, Ian finds her. She babbles about all she worried about, this time using names, explaining how Melanie will leave Philip, run to Nathan. They return to the apartment, she begs him to hack in again, change that negative to a positive.

Daniel, Chloe, Philip & Melanie are toasting Chloe’s birthday and their futures with cider, may everyone’s wishes come true. Philip suddenly decides they have to leave, he forgot a conference call he has scheduled. They leave, and next scene has Daniel & Chloe in bed, she is asleep, he is telling her how much he loves her, and wants her to be happy, that he would do anything for her, anything.
Carly is at the hospital with Sister Anne, who has the results up on the computer, but claims there is no HIPPA agreement signed by Chloe, so she can’t tell Carly, but Carly is sure Chloe signed one, gave it to nurse Josie. Ahh, the klutz, Sister Anne goes off to check. She returns, yep, the paper is there, she brings up the results page, turns the computer over to Carly, tells her to log off when she is done.
And now we have a series of scenes. Ian has hacked into St. Mary’s site, but finds the results now have been changed from Negative to Positive. Stephanie is taken aback. Daniel is down by the pier, serious expression, am guessing it is his phone in his hand. He presses buttons, saying aloud “do it”. Philip is outside the Pub, asking someone if it is done, thanking them, owes them one. Melanie is inside the Pub, with her laptop open to St. Mary’s web site. O.K. done. Chloe wakes up, Daniel is gone, she goes to her laptop, opens it to St. Mary’s site, clicks a few keys….it is done.

Rafe & Nicole sit in her room, listening to the confessional CD, running into the glitch, but successfully hearing the entire thing. Tis all Rafe needs, but he is not going to use it until he dots all the i’s and crosses the t’s. He assures Nicole that her 24 hr. protections starts now, take it or leave it…..she says leave it, runs out the door (and folks, no window along side that I can see, lololol).
Later, Rafe has her down at his office, reprimanding her for running away, introducing her to Agent Cooper who will be “guarding” her. Agent Cooper tells Rafe his little sis called, says it was important, Rafe returns the call, Gabi lets him know that Sami is getting married NOW, Will texted her as he was watching the ceremony. Rafe hangs up, leaves. Nicole sits as Agent Cooper, his back to her, dives into a pizza, then gets a call. Nicole takes advantage of the distraction and sneaks out the door.

And back to the wedding, where everyone has resumed their places, Johnny & Allie now sitting on the laps of Kate & Stefano. Roman siits, looking stoic, rather unhappy, as EJ and Sami recite their personal vows. EJ talks of Allie, Johnny, even Sydney who is upstairs with a fever, and how their love helped him to love again, and that even Will cuts him a break every so often….blah, blah, blah. (I am sorry, honestly, but this is all hard to take). Sami now takes her turn, talking of always wanting to marry someone who accepts her for who she is, not trying to change her (gosh Sami, did you forget Lucas so quickly?) but adds how much EJ has changed, citing also how he brought Sydney back to her, how they will be a family together with all the children, more blah, blah, blah. The couple exchange rings, Judge Fitzpatrick now starts to move around to the other side of the couple, as she recites…..”And now, by the power vested in me….I now pronounce…but here comes Rafe striding in, holding the CD, calling out to stop, not to say another word.

A new day dawns in Salem, as it’s inhabitants get ready to celebrate….. a birthday, a wedding, and…..a confession. Philip comes into the kitchen to find Melanie about to make pancakes for breakfast. (the box looks like a Bisquick box, but is only labeled simply “Pancake Mix”. LOL. ) Phil says they can have breakfast in Chicago, take in a Cubs game, go for a boat ride. Melanie protests, as she wants to go to her dad’s for Chloe’s birthday. Philip doesn’t think it a good idea, Melanie insists as her dad wanted them there, he caves.

Stephanie is talking with Nathan as Melanie comes up, all upset cuz the paternity results are in, Philip is the father, her arms go round Nathan’s neck as she cries about needing him. Stephanie suddenly wakes up on the sofa, yep, just the bad dream, Nathan comes out, she complains about just laying down for a nap, did not intend to sleep there all night. Both exchange I missed you’s, she asks if he got the arm x-rayed, nope, much better today, barely hurts, she insists, he finally agrees to go get one, leaves. She has already called Ian to come break into the hospital records again. He arrives, Nathan returns, Stephanie claims Ian left his flash there yesterday, Nathan leaves again. She is urging Ian to get going, he is reluctant, wants to know what is going on, this is a felony. She begs, he gives in, starts typing away. Ooops, cannot get into the site, Nathan calls, Ian happily announces he got in, Nathan hears his voice, asking Stephanie why Ian is still there. She claims he is showing her some shortcuts for software programs. LOL.

Chloe is sound asleep, Daniel puts a rose under her nose, she wakes up, smiles. He wishes her a happy birthday, has all sorts of surprises for her today, as he took the day off. She is happy, think perhaps she’d like to open one present right now. He goes to get it (must have it hidden in Alaska, lol) Chloe can’t find her phone to call Carly. Next, she is dressed, and Daniel is gifting her with the diamond bracelet. She is thrilled, he leaves the room, Carly arrives, telling Chloe they have to get going, in walks Daniel, Carly learns he has the whole day off. Ooops. She claims they were gonna do the spa thing, but it is o.k. Daniel again leaves the room, Chloe tells Carly to get the results and call her, Carly leaves. Chloe sits with Daniel on the sofa, telling him how much she loves him, wants to be a family with him, be together forever and ever. And for him to always remember, never forget that this is what she wants.

Over at St. Mary’s, Carly has arrives, tells a nurse she wants to see Sister Anne about some paternity results. She waits, the nurse returns, Sister Anne will be with her shortly, and yes, she has the results. Back in Stephanie’s apt. Ian has tapped into the results, Stephanie looks, puts her hand over her mouth, just saying “Oh, my God”.

Stefano & Kate walk in the study and see flowers, etc. everywhere, ask EJ what is going on, learn of the wedding today. Stefano is taken aback, EJ claims Samatha loves him, he loves her, they want to be together, and are getting married here. Stefano still is surprised at how sudden.
Upstairs, Sami is in her bedroom, dressed in a robe, looking in the mirror, and remembering seeing Rafe & Nicole kissing. Will comes in, wondering exactly when his mom was going to tell him. She claims they just decided last night, he wasn’t home, they just want the twins, Will, just their own family there. yada, yada. Will complains about Roman & Caroline not knowing, Sami intends to tell them after. She wants Will to give her away, he tells her that is her father’s job, but…she soft soaps him a bit. Will agrees to walk her down the aisle, hugs, as she tells him how much she loves him.

Philip & Melanie have arrived bearing a cake, a gift, to help celebrate the day. We see Chloe blow out a single candle on the cake, Melanie asking her what she wished, Philip reminding her the rules is not to tell. Chloe opens gifts, something sheer and a raspberry color from Phil & Mel, thanks them. Melanie talks about them being together as a family, she hopes they can do this always, Chloe breaks down in tears, gets rather emotional, Daniel holds her.

Nicole wakes up, (is under the covers, in a pink nightgown or PJ’s, sans robe now) and there sits Rafe, reading the paper. She makes a comment about their cuddle time being over, he is silent, she asks what is going on, no answer, she asks why he is not saying something, it is driving her crazy…he is still silent as he holds up the CD. Nicole spring from the bed, tries to grab the disk from him, to no avail. This is what he needs, she rants a bit at the whole “let’s be friends” bit, how nice and kind he was to her, and this is what he was after. He says he did what he had to do, especially after talking to her mother. Nicole wilts…you talked to my mother? Yes, and now he wants her to tell him everything. Nicole refuses, is upset, worried over what the DiMeras might do to her. Would he protect her, yes he will. Insure immunity…he would try. She is not convinced.
Her phone rings, it is EJ, asking if she is all right. No, she isn’t, mentioning everything being over with Brady as he undoubtably heard. Yes, he had, and he wanted to make sure she was not doing anything foolish. She asks how he is doing….just fine. He hangs up. She turns to Rafe…”let’s make a deal”.

At DiMera’s, Lexie has arrived, Stefano comes in with Judge Fitzpatrick, Will walks in with Johnny & Allie who run up to kneeling EJ for a hug. He pronounces them both looking beautiful, the Judge asks about the bride, Sami’s voice says “right here”. Sami stands in a beigey/champagne colored knee length dress, her hair is up, 3 single diamond (zircon???) head bands circle her head. She tells Johnny that Sydney cannot be there, is running a fever, is with Mary. She smiles at EJ, is ready. Will walks her in, she stands with EJ in front of the Judge, as the judge begins the familiar “we are gathered here “.

And in Nicole’s apt. she sits along side Rafe, who is taping her statement, acknowledging Nicole is doing this with the promise of immunity…and Nicole begins talking of how she figured EJ was trying to frame her for the muggings, went to the mansion looking for something that would prove it. She was looking around, when EJ and Stefano returned, she hid, had a tape recorder with her, and taped their conversation. You can listen to it. Rafe puts the CD into the laptop, and they listen. Near the end, Stefano is saying that Anna is the only one who knows and has been neutralized. The CD stops, Rafe can’t believe that is all there is, Nicole assures him there is more, perhaps the disk is cracked, no, it is not. Whatever the problem, it is rectified, cuz next Rafe is hearing Stefano talk about EJ being the one who paid Anna to kidnap Sydney, and EJ is talking of no one every knowing. Rafe shuts it down….that is all I need. Nicole comments he did this all for Sami, didn’t he? Yes, he replies, All for Sami.
