Carly's Storyline

Okay so I'm only a week behind now! Yay! And I have to make a comment...

So I was a big Carly fan way back in the day. So it's really hard for me to watch this current storyline. When she's with BO I absolutely loath her. I mean sure most of my loathing goes towards Bo who OMG I cannot believe how cold and dreadful he is!!! But when she's dealing with her Melanie storyline I like her and empathize with her story and really like her.

I just wish they'd go ahead and get the secret out! Just tell Melanie already, tell her all of it so she can be on gaurd with Vivian.

I agree Jade..when Carly isn't with Bo I can sympathize with her situation. I think when she is with Bo I just keep thinking she gave him up 16+ years ago and I just think of her as a homewreaker whenver I see her with Bo but with other characters I don't get that feeling

Had Bo not been a MAJOR reason why she returned to Salem I would have sympathy for that part of Carly's story. The people I feel sympathetic toward are Melanie and Ciara. Poor Melanie has to have that wench as a mother and poor Ciara has that wench doing her daddy.

Hmm I wonder if the writers have realized what a mistake they made about Bo and Carly shacking up beause it seems to me that they cooled that relationship a bit or is that just wishful thinking.

It's more like 20+ years ago even though people keep saying sixteen. Melanie was 19 in November and Carly didn't get pregnant with her right away. Just sayin'.

When I heard she was coming back I was thrilled she was so good - but to have Hope leave Bo and then Have Bo and Carly ---it was not what we all wanted out of these 2 --but they can only do what story is given to them..

I don't like that Bo had sex with Carly etc etc etc...and I certainly don't like that Bo has turned his back on Hope and treats her with such contempt....but is it a writers mistake...?? I don't know...I think we can see Hope move into a s/l of her own and work with other characters and be interesting.....Hope does not need Bo to exist and I'm excited that she is back on the police force....I want to see her go after Vivian and maybe she should join in the efforts (yeah, I had to laugh myself when I typed that...!!) to find Sydney....
Bo is no longer my favorite character... but I watch his s/l with the same interest as some of my other not so favorite characters, and if they keep him with Carly so be it.....Carly, I can't stand, the character and actress both grate on my nerves endlessly....but I will tolerate it because I will watch Melanie......she's a bright spot in Salem that outshines most.....
So, a mistake...?? Or just a different direction...???

I blame Bo for his realtionship with Carly for the most part, but Carly must shoulder some of the blame. She came blustering into town for Bo's help and has had no regard for how it is affecting his marriage. She likes to remind Hope how she left Bo and took Ciara, but she wasn't around for the kidnapping and problems that followed. She also wasn't around for all the Billie years, Zach's death, and any of their other problems. My point is she has NO idea what may have led to Hope's leaving so she is just instantly taking Bo's side without knowing, or caring to know, all the details. On top of all that she also is having Bo keep a secret for her that any wife, even under the best situations, would have a problem with.

And regardless of all Bo's troubles with Hope, Carly should know better then to get involved with a man who is in an uncertain situation with his wife. No divorce papers have been filed, there is no firm resolution to their seperation. Plus, Hope and Bo have a daughter who is the middle of this and WILL be hurt. You'd think Carly, Ms. "oh my daughter" would think about that. If she were smart she would not get involved with Bo romantically until everything is resolved. But smart doesn't make drama.

So yeah her relationship with Bo makes me sick. Bo may be shoulder most the blame but Carly obviously has a lot herself.

I think her story would be way more compelling if there really wasn't anything going on between her and Bo.

I read an interview with Peter Reckell in which he said he was surprised by the outpouring of love and support for Bo & Carly, that it shocked him.....and I was honestly wondering just where THAT was coming from. Yes, I know there are viewers are love them together, but I don't think the majority do. Perhaps the interview was given after Crly first appeared, and a lot of folks were initially rather ticked off at Hope, but I think the day Hope found Carly in her bed was where some started to get off the Yayyy Carly & Bo train....and the first time they ended up in the sack....lots more got off, leaving that train nearly empty now, tho.there are still some aboard.
