Default Books and movies?

Barb, Wayne, and others ~
What do you think of the idea of creating another forum for the discussion of books and/or movies? Several people have mentioned movies they've enjoyed, but these discussions are mixed in with chit chat on Donuts or other threads. If we had a Book/movies forum the title of any given thread could be the book or movie title and then we could easily check out what others had to say about it. I don't join local book discussion groups because I don't like to be assigned a specific book to read, but there are some times when I would love to discuss a book that I have just read. This little Spectator community is a fun group to discuss things with. Thoughts?

Thank you for this web site. It is great!
Lois

I like that suggestion, Lois.

Maybe there can be a rating feature with stars, just like the rating feature for the threads.

Thanks, kpatch.
Love the idea of adding the rating option.

I am all for the idea too. I have heard of some of the movies and books people mention and it makes me more curious to know more. There are some I haven't heard of before and would like to know more about them. Great idea Lilo, thanks for coming up with it.

I would definitely be all for it. I love to read and watch movies. Normally, I wait till the movie is out on DVD before I watch it. Unless it is something I cannot wait to see!! Love the idea of star ratings as well.

Sounds good to me! I love to read and am always looking for good books! I also wait for the movies to come out on DVD most of the time. We all watch the same soap so I'm sure we'll have other interest in common. I'm all for it.

Default ISN'T THIS A Thread For Books/Movies?

Sounds like you started it HERE in this post.

SOOOooooooooooo

What have you been reading lately?
What movies have you seen and liked?

Last movie I saw (at the theater) was "The Book Of Eli". I thought it was good.

As for books, I listen to Audiobooks at work frequently (I mop floors a LOT, gotta keep that nuclear plant CLEAN!) or doing other tasks. The one I am listening to now is Stephen King's newest "Under The Dome". Mr. King is back in Maine for this one, terrorizing the folk of a small town with human "monsters" and . . . . . "outside influences". I'm enjoying it.

I recently finished Anne Rice's "Angel Time" from her new "Angel Chronicles" series. Ms. Rice has rejoined her "lost" faith and is sharing it in her books.

MystFaerie ~
Barb has suggested that we use the Daze and Knights forum to test this idea. If there is a book or movie you would like to discuss, start a thread in the Daze forum using the title of the book/movie as the thread title. [Note the one lovogrif recently started.]
If this catches on, Barb will consider setting up a special forum for book/movie reviews.
I've noted that several of us like to discuss movies or books we've recently enjoyed, but when those discussions are mixed in with other conversations it is very difficult to go back and find them when [later] we have seen that movie or read that book and want to contribute to the conversation.

Thanks for your support for this idea. I'll look for your reviews!
Lois
