Is it time to pull the plug??

With the death of Frances Reid and subsequently the death of Alice Horton even though her character has not been seen in a while. With the way the storylines are going and how it seems that the powers that be are destroying a fan favorite couple not just as a couple but as individual characters as well... Is it time to let the show sail into the sunset??

I don't know about the other fans but to me it seems that Days would end with the death of Alice Horton.

No.....it most certainly is not......one character, even a much loved one as Alice, does not make a show.....
Days of Our Lives is more than any one character, more than any one actor....I find it quite ludicrous to think a 40 plus year show should end because an actor once on the show, even for as long as Frances, is no longer with us...and I wouldn't think that Frances herself or her family would want that......

And let me say that I am saddened by the death of Frances Reid, she has a family that loves her and will miss her terribly and are deeply hurt by her passing.....

I find Days the slowest moving and most boring of the 6 soaps I watch.

I don't think Days should end because of Francis Reid's death or because they are breaking up a 'supercouple'. Considering the show has survived without the character of Alice Horton for awhile now, as loved as she was/is, speaks volumes to the fact that one character does not make a soap opera. I have been watching Days since childhood and think the show has survived way worse in terms of storylines. Actually, I am enjoying quite a few of the stories on Days right now.

No. It shouldn't end. I'm not being cruel, just honest. Days hasn't focused on the Horton family, just Dimeras and Bradys. There is too much to give the audience still. I miss and love Alice Horton, but no. The show must go on!!

I've watched the show through good times and bad and endured some hideously horrible storylines that we are forbidden to mention here. Oh okay (Garden of Eden, Marlena's Possession, most anything with Princess Gina and her daughter, and in my opinion most anything with Sami). I fast-forward whatever I am not interested in. But I hope Days outlives me, because I would sorely miss it if it were gone.

No way should Days end now. I agree with Kpatch, I've watched through way worse storylines than what we have now and wold miss the show greatly if it were gone. And worse I'd miss all my friends on this board, since without Days, there would be no Salem Spectator.

Then why do you continue to watch if you find it so slow and boring?

I've watched since the beginning of my time (Mom watched when pregnant for me and on).

With no disrespect to Frances Reid, she's not been on for many years and the show has survived. They've broken up supercouples before and the show has survived.

I see no reason to pull the plug.
