The mystery of Sydney’s kidnapping starts unraveling when Rafe figures out that Anna took her and he sets out to uncover whom she was working with.

Nicole summons Rafe to her jail cell. Galen says, “As much as Nicole is clever and conniving, sometimes Rafe can glean information from her. So he goes to see Nicole, thinking she might disclose something to him.”

Nicole thinks Anna is stringing her along and not trying to get the governor to pardon her, so she prepares to spill the beans about Anna taking Sydney. A guard interrupts and announces that she has a call from the governor. Nicole finds out she’s been pardoned! Rafe is suspicious.

Rafe’s suspicions intensify when Nicole starts pointing the finger at Kate and insisting that she took Sydney. “Rafe knows that’s not true. Kate’s already been cleared, “ explains GG. “He also realizes someone got to the governor. Rafe tells Nicole he’s going to get the bottom of this.”

Rafe then confronts Governor Ford. Rafe asks him what is going on and if he doesn’t that he will open up an investigation. But, the governor does him to go ahead and do that. Galen says, “Rafe is like, ‘Damn it!’ Clearly, something is going on and someone is behind it. The question is, who?”

Rafe’s sleuthing leads him to Victor, who recently had the governor at his mansion. Rafe ask if anyone at the party spoke to the governor and Victor tells him that Anna DiMera did. Rafe then realizes that she had to be the one to get Nicole the pardon.

His next step is to question EJ. “He tells EJ he thinks Anna took Sydney and that she was working with someone, but EJ claims not to know anything and denies any involvement,” sighs Galen.

Although he is still suspicious of his nemesis, there isn’t any proof that EJ was involved. Galen says, “Certainly, EJ’s behavior has been weird, but what sense would it make for a father to kidnap his own daughter?”

Rafe could very well find out when he receives a call from a fellow agent that Nicole has been spotted in Santo Domingo. Rafe quickly makes plans to fly there and grill Nicole about Anna. “He thinks Nicole may know who Anna was working with or at least give him a clue as to who it is. Then Rafe can finally solve this thing once and for all,” says Galen.

Little does Rafe know it might be easier than he thinks – Anna has just arrived in Santo Domingo, too.

Anna comes through for Nicole and she gets her pardon. At first it doesn’t look like Anna will be able to persuade the governor to let Nicole go. Nicole gets impatient and calls Anna on the phone and doesn’t like what she hears, so she then calls Rafe. Ari says, “Nicole feels she has a better chance if she tells him what’s going on so Anna can’t screw her.”

Rafe arrives at the prison and Nicole is about to spill the beans. She tells him she remembers who took Sydney, but the guard then hands her the phone and it’s the governor telling her she has a pardon. When she is off the phone Rafe wants to know what she was going to say and she tells him it was Kate. Rafe says to her, ‘We’ve already been down this road. It’s not Kate. It’s Anna, isn’t it?’ Nicole says no and she swears that it was Kate. Ari says, “So she totally wastes his time, but he knows she’s lying. She doesn’t care.”

The first thing Nicole does when she is released is call Brady’s office. But, he is in Santo Domingo, so Nicole buys a plane ticket and flies down there to surprise him. She gets her hair lightened there too.

When Nicole arrives at the hotel, she is stunned to discover Brady and Arianna are there to elope. “She is not down there to break up a marriage or anything else. She’s down there to say, ‘Honey, I’m home. Let’s do this,’” says Ari. “And it just bursts her bubble.” Then Fay arrives. She is there to try and reason with Nicole and tells her she can’t just run off and try to break up a marriage. Nicole swears she didn’t know and Fay tells her not to do anything stupid.

It turns out that Nicole doesn’t have to. The marriage doesn’t happen due to forces out of all of their control….

It looks like most of Salem will be in Santo Domingo at the same time.

I hate to see Rafe stalking Nicole again but this time it will be legal. **yawn**

AHA, Rafe definitely gets to use t he Salem brain.

I wonder what kind of set we'll see for Santo Domingo. It'll probably be the room from the Salem Inn with different curtains and bedspread.

LOL @ RS. That would be the worst set ever, wouldn't it? Someone on here said that there is an ad showing that someone is supposed to be shot (yes, another one). So, I'm thinking Stefano puts a hit on Anna once he finds out about her involvement in the kidnapping. The question is out of all those people there, who will actually take a bullet?

I hope Rafe does get to the bottom of things but I sort of dread the same ol', same ol' between Nicole and him.

Seriously??? Why is this a question?! He did it for revenge. Is everyone so stupid to think EJ just forgave and forgot that Sami lied and kept his daughter from him? That her keeping it quiet gave Nicole the opportunity to switch the babies? I'm not blaming Sami but EJ IS!! I don't get why anyone wouldn't suspect him for that reason alone. He has motive, and the resources to have be behind the kidnapping.

My guess is ..... in studio, a light blue wall for background sky/water, a couple of dump truck loads of sand spread around, and a few plastic palm trees!

I wonder if Santa Domingo is where we will see Dr Baker. Isn't this wher is was supposedly murdered.
