Kudos today go to James Scott & Joe Mascolo (EJ & Stefano) get the awards today. Really great scenes. The Godfather for sure. But first, let's get some of the smaller stuff out of the way. Abby continues to gush & confide in Gabi about her "first time". Cameron eavesdrops for a while, then leaves. Abby talks of telling her mom, then decides against it since it was a DiMera.
Replay of Chad's flashback with his doctor, us learning he has no tumor, and his search for a plausible treatment on the computer. He finds one that he feels will work, and will leave no trace, no Cam or Kayla won't ever know he wasn't taking it. Cam arrives, not too happy for Chad's togetherness with Abby. Chad fakes a bit of a headache, in order to close his computer, Cam gets him some water, they chat, with Chad assuring Cam he would not want to hurt Abby, and is very happy, blah, blah, blah.
Kate runs into Jordan, who is abrupt, cold, businesslike. She says Rafe is progressing, has a long way to go, no idea for timeline. He has therapy in a bit.
Abe talks to Rafe about Sami's chances being practically nil, especially with Kate's testimony. Kate comes in as Abe is leaving, with Abe telling Kate she did not have to give the prosecutor more ammunition. Kate tries to explain to Rafe how she had no choice. In comes Jordan, out goes a reluctant Kate, but she will get some coffee. Jordan runs thru a couple of exercises with Rafe (he sure is lookin' good,) when Gabi arrives. Jordan gives them 5 minutes, so Gabi quickly runs thru pics of Arianna on her phone, Sonny busy with the club, Will worried about his mom, everyone is fine, tho. Time's up. She skedaddles, Jordan has Rafe do a few more exercises, he is doing well.
At the trial, Sami is worried because EJ is not there, Roman is called as witness. He gets sworn in, and Trask immediately pounces on her father to testify how often Sami has been caught lying. When Roman tries to give explanations, she cuts him off with "yes or no". She asks about lying in family court, and goes on and on how Sami lied about Lucas hitting their son, and in fact, lying about the paternity for years. She quickly withdraws the questions when Justin rises to object..but the jury is hearing it all anyway. Sami is looking sadder and sadder. Finally Roman steps down, she mouths to him, she loves him, he does the same back.
And now let's get to the juicy part (she says gleefully, rubbing her hands together). Replay of EJ realizing Stefano has the razor, has had it all along, telling Stefano he has to turn it in, have one of his flunkies phone in a tip, it was found in the hospital. You have to save her. Stefano doesn't HAVE to do anything. And now EJ asks what he wants, telling him to take it all, the house, the companies, all of it. He just wants Samantha back and free. Stefano wonders why EJ thinks that "things" are important. They are not. He picks up a chess piece, EJ angrily dumps the table on it's side, chess pieces to the floor. No games. Take all it back, all of it. I only want her.
Stefano smiles....you disappoint me, my son. I thought I taught you better. The light bulb turns on for EJ, who says "you have been 5 steps ahead, haven't you? You had this all in motion when you went out that door". Stefano chuckles, yes. Flashback to Stefano telling EJ he would be begging him. And EJ does. down on his knees he goes, begging Stefano to help free Sami, he will do anything, anything at all. What is it he wants?
And Stefano gives his orders. After all this is over, if Samantha is free by some miracle, you will remain in this house, you will be my son. You will work beside me, do whatever I ask. You and your family will remain in this house until I decide otherwise.
Yes, father, says EJ. Stefano holds out his hand (I believe the one with the ring on it) towards EJ, who knows what comes next. He moves on his knees over closer to Stefano, kisses his hand (reluctantly, it seems). Ah, so.
EJ tells him to do whatever it is he has to do. Oh, but first, EJ has calls to make, papers to sign. Later, EJ is signing papers, EJ is asking if he talked to the man in HongKong and in England, I think. EJ is solemn, replying that he did, they understand about discretion, don't want the price of shares to go down. He is saying "yes, Father" all the time now. He hands the folders with the signed papers to Stefano, who reminds him that Sami's trial is going on, he had better get there. Yes, father. He takes his jacket and leaves.
Stefano grins, takes his glass of brandy, raises it, "To MY family". he laughs, then says "Salud" as he downs his drink. He then makes a call, reminds someone of the matter they had discussed, says to "set it in motion". He smiles again.
Back at the trial, EJ has returned, Sami glad to see him. Roman is testifying. EJ says nothing, despite Sami's questioning looks. Roman is dismissed, Abe comes in, calls Melinda aside, telling her something has come up. She is extremely displeased, but has not choice. Justin, Sami have no idea what is going on. EJ is quiet, just looking down. Trask tells the judge that Abe was to be the next witness, but a very urgent matter has arisen, so asks for a recess until Abe is available. The judge grants it. Out in the hall, Roman asks Abe what is going on, is this going to help Sami. Abe just pats him on the shoulder. We see Abe on his phone to someone, no slipups, everything to the lab, and checked 3 times over.
Sami is back in her cell, Justin still has no idea what is going on, what happened. EJ is looking thru the bars at Sami, a confident look on his face.

And then Stefano acting all gleeful when he ran into Kate. If ever I was cheering Stefano on, today was the day!! How much you want to bet EJ won't inform Sami how this new evidence came about and then when she's freed and goes back to the mansion, she's going to be like "what the hell is HE doing here?!" LOL. This should be good!
