What *has* been John up to? (let's have some fun with this)

What crazy thoughts were *you* thinking while John was talking to Marlena today, and telling her that he can't say anything about his mission. What is his totally secret mission (this is totally tongue-in-cheek, and inspired by the thought that he's always let things slip to Marlena in the past)

My thoughts:

- he has been dealing with brain damage (all those brain washings from Stefano, after all)

- he's after the Vitali family (surprise! Ava is alive, right? Because we have to have a supercouple crossover, and Steve & Kayla can never be happy)

- he's busy handling the other family that he has had for years (but had forgotten about with the numerous brain washings until recently)

- he's busy with his other career as a world famous neurosurgeon (another forgotten thing due to Stefano)

- he's taking care of Caroline... wherever she is.
 
He was trying to track down "dancing woman" from Horton Town Square to try and convince her to come back for a repeat performance.

He's trying to find Eugene Bradford so he can use his time machine. John wants to go back in time and not sleep with Marlena so Sami can never screech "John Black ruined my life when he had sex with my mom on the Titan Conference Room Table!"
 
Nahhh, he has been helping the secret rehab place who patched Jack together after the elevator accident. Since he has gone thru brainwashings, amnesia, etc. & knows Jack and all his family, he is helping them to get Jack's memory correct.

Actually, he has been helping the ISA find and destroy all of Stefano's secret labs, but taking whatever records, files, letters, etc. they come across.

He has been tracking the citizens of Salem who just have "disappeared" with no word ever. Like Don Craig, who went to mail a letter, Bill Horton who showed up for Alice's funeral, then vanished.
 
He's in search of the elusive Salem brain.

He's trying to find one of Stefano's old Frankendoctors to deSORAS the current group of young people.

He's looking for the real Ciara and Chase:

He's been looking high and low for someone for Roman to kiss. It's taking
longer then he thought.

Maybe he's trying to find the original history of Salem since most of it has
changed over the years.

If he can pull this off, Mayor Abe ought to present him with a gold medal. That said, perhaps John has been dabbling in genealogy, attempting to sort out the family trees of leading Salem families. He's probably now given up because the frustration involved with trying to sort out these tortured, tangled messes would be sure to send him into yet another coma.
 
He found out Master Shifu and that lady were not his parents. He is actually a DiMera but his father was Santos' good and very rich brother, Massimo. And here is the other surprise, Vivian Alamain is actually his mother, but alas she has passed.

His father comes to Salem with him, he is presented with Vivian's fortune and his father tells him he's old and doesn't have much time left and John will inherit my billions. He lived in poverty so Stefano and Andre would never find out.
