This is a short and swift summary. I saw the show, but have an appt. Claire reads Jade the riot act about the tape, Jade admits what she did, tries making excuses, pity party, but Claire will have none of it. Jade leaves, Joey follows. Theo tries to apologize to Claire, she won't accept it, he did not trust her, but he would have believed Ciara in a heart beat. She indicates it is over with them.

Replay of Steve entering Sebastian's office, and Anjelica coming in. They go back and forth with a bit of past history. Anjelica has it in for Adrienne, but in actuality, she wants the newspaper because of Jack, his legacy. She feels Jen & Adrienne will ruin it, she wants it to be great again, because of stepson Jack. Steve warns her off, noting she married a serial killer, wasn't her first mistake.

On the island, JJ & Chad subdue Paul, while Gabi tends to Sonny. Paul goes unconscious, they get him back to camp, tie his legs, and arms. Paul is burning up, but fever breaks. Sonny is all lovey, talking of old times, Paul comes to a bit, flashes back to the terrible things he has done, is scared. Sonny goes to untie his legs, Paul says no, he doesn't want to hurt anyone else. (Sonny's head is bleeding, no one tends to it, but interestingly, the streak down the side never drips any further, lol)

Meanwhile, Lani is having a heart to heart with Eli, she feels that JJ is pushing her away emotionally, things not well. He advises her to talk to JJ who shows up. Eli leaves, she tells JJ how she is feeling, he agrees it is true.

Chad & Gabi have some short conversation, Sorry, I paid no attention to it. But it was brief.

Joey finds Jade sitting on the park bench, feeling sorry for herself, having another pity party. She still claims she thought she was helping, maybe she just did not think of sex being such a private affair. Joey figures maybe that he is partly to blame, as he considered Jade claiming to be in love with him to be annoying, did not help. He still wants to be friends, she mentions still being in love with him, so he says "friends from a distance", (whatever that means).

I liked the nod to history with Anjelica talking about Adrienne "stealing" Justin and Alexander from her. She says Adrienne poisoned Alexander against her (after Steve says Alex doesn't want anything to do with Anjelica).

Also liked the comments about Jack being her stepson and how she was married to a serial killer (Harper Deveraux).

Thanks for the summary. I think the show was just sort of...meh...Too much stuff with the teenagers, but I'm really glad that the Theo & Claire relationship looks to be over. Gosh that was just really bad. They really should've had him with Ciara from the beginning. As for the island stuff, I really do hope the island fever is done for Paul. Let's get this gang back home!

I'm not too familiar with Anjelica Deveraux, but I'm glad an older character is coming back onscreen. Have the new writers started already?

Here's Anjelica's history for those not familiar:

http://web.archive.org/web/20070407...dayspage.com:80/days/characters/Anjelica.html

In a nutshell:

She was married to Jack's adoptive father, Harper Deveraux (who was the Riverfront Knifer). At one point, she had a fling with Justin and got pregnant with Alexander (named after Justin's late father, Victor's younger brother). Neil Curtis married her to give the baby a name and his paternity was kept hush-hush. But in true soap style, the truth came out. At some point, she and Alexander were presumed dead in a plane crash, but then were found to be alive. She sent Alexander to live with his father and be raised by Justin and Adrienne.

Since Anjelica Devereaux is back, and the writers intend to revisit history (it's about time), why not also bring back Jack ? Now he would fit in perfectly. Let's see him take on his stepmother to keep The Spectator. Not that I mind Steve being involved. I just wish the two brothers could team up. But alas, I guess I'm dreaming... Everybody can come back now, except Jack.

Thank you, Poirot.

Geez, I wish I could fast forward through the show on my ROKU. I only care about the Patch and Anjelica scenes.

It is about time that Claire and Theo broke up. Their relationship seemed so forced from the get go.

The island stuff is just so original. :sarcasm: Geez, nothing like taking a few past stories and smashing them together.

For those who may not be familiar with that storyline, Justin and Adrienne were already in love (after a lot of angst), but Anjelica was cougar-hot for Justin. It didn't matter to her that Justin loved Adrienne. She bedded (a drunk??) Justin after he had had a quarrel with Adrienne, and Alexander was conceived. In true soap fashion, Justin and Adrienne reconciled, then found out Anjelica was pregnant.

I loved Morgan Fairchild in Love of Life and Dallas, but after seeing her in her recurring role in Friends, she will forever be Chandler Bing's mother to me.

I didn't watch in the days of Anjelica and I'm on vacation so I didn't see it. Is it the same actress playing her?
As Barb noted, Jane Elliot (who was Tracy Quartermaine on General Hospital) originally played Anjelica. Then she left and Shelley Taylor Morgan briefly stepped into the role. She had played Lorna Sharpe on GH in the mid 80's. Then Judith Chapman took over the role. She's currently on Y&R as Gloria Fisher.

Funny that all three of the ladies who played Anjelica had been on General Hospital.

If today's episode had a theme is was, "same old, same old."

1) The Island Follies. Every day on the island is an exercise in tired repetition: discuss relationships and cope with amok Paul. Why don't the crash survivors do everyone a favor, copy Tom Hanks in Cast Away, and build a raft? After all, they're in the well-trafficked Mediterranean or Aegean, not some isolated corner of the South Pacific. As for Paul, they should check the plane for a copy of the Love Doctor's other best seller, Home Cures for Deadly Tropical Diseases. Every plane leaving Salem for warm-weather locales probably has a copy on board.

2) Anjelica. OMG, another person from Steve's past bent on revenge. Somebody should tell her that this is the road to ruin. After all, how well did things turn out for Ava, Orpheus, and creepy Clyde?

3) Big Mouth Claire. The YouTube wannabe was really on a roll today, viciously browbeating the pathetic, hapless NuJade and then tossing poor Theo's abject apology back in his face. Theo should go somewhere, lick his wounds, and start dreaming about Ciara. Better yet, he should start hanging around on campus and find a nicer girlfriend.

don't think so either. Harper Deveraux (while married to Anjelica) was a serial killer, who adopted Jack from the orphanage. Steve never got adopted. Their mother had given them up for adoption, keeping Adrienne, because the father was so abusive. Same father who later on raped Adrienne, who shot him, with Steve taking the blame when she blacked it out, had amnesia about it.

As noted, Anjelica developed the hots for Justin, bedded him, getting pregnant with Alexander, who ended up being raised by Justin &Adrienne. Was funny at the time, she could not get pregnant, they adopted the twins the maid had, as she could not care for them, Anjelica turned Alex over, and Adrienne learned she was now pregnant. Which is why the boys are all very close in age.

Harper was dead long before JJ or Stephanie were born. However, it does seem Salemites have passed on family history at times, which makes one wonder why anyone even speaks to Andre, let alone marry him. LOL

While I don't care for Anjelica, want to know how I smiled big time at her mention of Jack! Yayyyy.

And again, I am shouting out Bravo to Christopher Sean (Paul) who is doing fantastic work as the jungle madness wreaks havoc with him.

Could not resist this.......still laughing.........

All the acting is great, its getting much better. Yes Christopher Sean (Paul) is doing an excellent job with his portrayal.

I speculate somewhere down the line we will definitely see Kate square off against Anjelica in Adrienne's defense business wise. Kate and Anjelica are exactly the same women just different names, I would love to see that cat fight! The Justin/Adrienne/Anjelica affair was somewhat similar to Daniel/Chloe/Kate.
