So I splurged, and bought the mag......lots of Days stuff........Yep, Hope figured out that Hattie was pretending to be Marlena, questions her, & Hattie is arrested. Paul hears Andre is in Bayview, learns from Hope about Hattie's deception, and takes off with Roman, arriving just in time to stop the shock therapy. Later, Marlena confronts Hattie, who slips up, mentioning an accomplice, but then clams up, refusing to divulge any more.

In the Early Edition section.....it says both Chloe & Julie are after the same thing, Andre wants to make a deal with Chad, Eric is going to leave Salem, while........Abe wants Roman to return to the Salem P.D.

Interview with Bryan Dattilo (Lucas), who feels that Lucas's drinking is him crying out for attention from everyone, mentions Lucas getting mad at Sonny, because he feels Sonny if moving on too soon. He also says Lucas has yet to hit rock bottom, the worst for him is yet to come.

Nicole wants to continue working at the Horton Center, feeling that she enjoys helping people. Brady wants her to come work at Titan, she declines. He tells John, who replies that since Nicole has given him no reason to doubt her, leave her be.

Next week, Chad has a confrontation with Andre, Gabi brings a gift to Eli, who is out looking for a new job, Hope won't commit to a wedding date with Rafe, Tripp tells Theo he wants to date Claire, Sheila visits Adrienne in the slammer with shocking news, sending poor gal back to solitary!

Interview with Judi Evans (Adrienne/Bonnie) about her new shorter haircut, and how her family feels about it.

Editor's Choice went to Days story of Steve & Kayla's angst over Joey owning up to Ava's death and going to prison.

Carolyn Hinsey's column concerned the dumbing down of men on all the soaps, citing, for Days, the failure of the men who loved them to realize Marlena & Adrienne were not real, that others took their place. A sort of boo/hiss to Nicole being the killer of dumb Deimos, Must say, Hinsey give equal "dumb" credits to Kate, Hope, Julie, and even mentioning negatively the belly dancing by Abby & Gabi.

A thumbs up was given to the story of the sting operation using Abe, and how it affected many of the Salemites - Valerie chastising her son, Eli; Theo upset; Julie so upset she was going to take the Martin house from Eli, and in the end, the ruse concocted by Abe, Rafe, Hope & Eli worked, Raines was caught, and James Reynolds (Abe) finally got some air time of his own.

Long article/interview with Chad/Abby about the auditioning process for Abby, so many of them, & how Billy Flynn (Chad) felt that when Marci Miller (Abby) came in, he just felt the click, this is the one, vibe. Both were nervous, both do their preps differently, but it all works for them.

Small interview with Bryan about working with Morgan Fairchild (Anjelica), he was in awe, had watched her on Falcon Crest, could not believe he was going to be in bed with her, lol. He was impressed at how prepared she always was, knew her lines, did them perfectly (the scene before the bed scene).

An article about the trials and misery of 4 soap heroines, on Days it was Hope Brady, citing all her miseries and misadventures year by year, starting with her father having a heart attack upon finding her about to have sex with Bo on her 18th birthday in 1984, to being stabbed in prison by Coco & Sheila in 2017.

Awesome Poirot thanks for sharing. Some twists and turns, and even though the writers are going with Lucas' being a alcoholic storyline again. In real life, relapse does happen, so nice to show that and yes Lucas is actually in a plot for once, of his own and then some.

Thank you, Poirot. I enjoyed reading all of those tidbits. I'm not happy Eric is leaving. But I guess if Nicole is leaving, there wouldn't be much of a story for him anyway. I always wanted those two to end up together, just like I wanted Lucas and Sami--until she got involved with E.J., then I stopped caring about her and no longer wanted her with Lucas.

I'm also not excited about Gabi and Eli moving closer to each other. I agree with others who've said he and Lani are a much better match. Also that Gabi and JJ go together well.

the failure of the men who loved them to realize Marlena & Adrienne were not real
Ms Hinsey is really slipping. John was on to Hattie within a few hours Salem-time, knew something was up.
James Reynolds (Abe) finally got some air time of his own.
I'm not happy with the Raines fallout, but I like how stories aren't so isolated anymore. The next day we had characters talking about what happened. It's a nice move, though initially the Raines stuff was a bubble.

I read the whole synopsis on Hope. I didn't realize she had ever miscarried. I wasn't watching back then. I hope she has second thoughts about Rafe. Just not a fan of that couple.

The Marci Miller (Abby) and Billy Flynn (Chad) article was interesting. That he knew she was the one to play Abby and they had already tested a lot of actresses. I have to say with Abby being hit and almost dying I am now a Chad and Abby fan. Was not at all before because of their past. I remember 5 or so years ago and she was kind of obsessed with him but he wanted nothing to do with her because he was with Melanie. Same thing with Gabi. I never felt he and Abby were meant to be but now I am liking them which is nice.

I do have to agree with Caroline Hinsey that the men in their lives and their kids would definitely know those are not their loved ones but this is TV. We have to suspend reality a little. John did figure something was up pretty quick though. But I would like if the doppelgangers would stay more in character with who they are supposed to be.

Bonnie and Hattie have been so unAdrienne and unMarlena like at times it's ridiculous. It's funny how it took Hope about 2 minutes to figure out it was Hattie. I guess because she was just very recently involved with Hattie. Still funny. Glad this is coming to an end. At least with Marlena not sure about poor Adrienne. And if there was ever going to be a doppelganger story I wish it would be that Chandler Massey is NOT going to really be Will!
Perhaps Chloe and Julie both want to bid for Dario's club?
That's what I was thinking too. Both want the club.

edited to write out characters' names; combo names are not used on this board - JS

As much as I liked Will (especially played by Chandler Massey), I am hoping that he is just a figment of Lucas's imagination and part of Sonny's dreams. The death of Will by Ben's hands was a sad loss and it is not how I wanted Will's character to end up. But I would rather him remain dead now because any backtracking or retelling of what happened that night in Ben's apartment will be something unbelievable and over the top.

And frankly I've had enough watching unbelievable and over the top stories on Days: the Hattie and Bonnie replacing Marlena and Adrienne, Nicole's own biological baby being kept from her by Chloe and by a judge's decision, and Abigail being wishy washy about Chad and being gullible so as far as it marry Dario. I will say I am happy that Chad and Abigail are back together and hope they will continue to be written as a strong couple.

I know, I know. Days is famous for over the top stories (Marlena's possession, the Salem stalker and Melaswen, Stefano's numerous returns from the dead). And I have enjoyed those stories. James Riley was a master at writing those kinds of over the top stories that made you want to stay tuned to each and every episode. However, in recent years, the writing is not at that same level.

@tennisdoc.....See, that is what is so great about the posters here, such diverse views, outlooks, opinions. Personally, I hated every one of Reilly's stories, in fact I nearly stopped watching in the Marlena Possession story, that is how upset I was when he desecrated the church.

Nope, did not stay glued, I am not a fan of Sci Fi of any kind. As to Melaswen, I just cannot imagine what was in Reilly's mind as he began to kill off major characters right and left. I wonder if he perhaps had the idea of bringing in new characters (those that eventually populated whatever that Passions town was called). Because he fully intended they all would be dead, Alice included!, But NBC came roaring in, ordering him to bring them ALL back, they did not care how. So, Melaswen came to be, and Reilly was fired but given Passions to use for his weird stories.

That all aside, Agree about the "unbelievable", which has just gone on tooooo long. And while it appears that Hattie has been outed, what about Bonnie? No word on her or how much longer she will be esconced in the Kmansion.

With Ron Carlivati saying in several interviews he had to "right the wrong of Will's death", it seems a given that Chandler Massey will be the real Will and he's alive and well.

Yeah, it looks like Chandler Massey is playing the real Will Horton. I'm glad about that. However, since Chandler reshot Will's 'death' scene, it looks like the period of time Guy Wilson was portraying the character is still canon and eliminates the possibility if he was a doppelganger.

From Chandler Massey's (Will) interview with NY Post.

Q: Will has been dead for two years. Is he coming back Walking Dead style?
CM: No. I guess I can say he's not a zombie. Soaps have their ways, you know? Will certainly wouldn't be the first person to come back from the dead. They have a medically plausible explanation.

Q: What can fans expect from Will's return?
CM: The most obvious thing will be Sonny, his longtime love, is involved with someone else now. It throws a pretty sizable wrench into that romance.

Q: Did you realize how big the Will and Sonny love story would be for gay fans?
CM: No, I really had no idea. It wasn't until after I started hearing from people who watched the show, and getting letters and reading tweets and talking to people at events that I realized how important the story was.

Q: Why did the show bring you back instead of Guy Wilson?
CM: Guy did a phenomenal job as Will. If I had to speculate, I would say playing Will originally when the coming-out story was happening and all that just worked in my favor.

Q: You did re-shoots of some of Wilson's scenes including one where Will was murdered. How'd that go?
CM: The scenes were very intense and required a lot of energy but I don't think it's weird. When I first started working on the show, I was a recast. There's a kid named Dylan Patton who played Will before me and there was a bunch of Wills before him. So that's just kind of how it goes, you know?

It'll be interesting to see what other scenes were shot with Chandler Massey playing Will. I wonder if they'll do some creative editing and insert Chandler Massey into the wedding scenes originally done with Guy Wilson?
