Yawwwwwnnn! Sorry, but, not too much going on in Salem today. Brady comes into the study, looking for Nicole, who is no where to be found. Over at the Center, Eric is at his desk when Nicole arrives, telling him how she has been lying to everyone, that she has Holly back, and with Brady & Tate she has the perfect family she always wanted, butthe truth is, she loves you, Eric. He loves her as well, passionate kissing.

Back to the Kmansion, where Brady is aggravated, pours himself a drink, but then hears Nicole's voice, hides the glass behind the decanter, as Nicole comes in with Holly, looking adorable. All sit on the sofa, and honestly, Holly is just so cute, constantly trying to grab Nicole's nose. LOL. They chat a bit, later Holly is with Maggie, Brady mentions being busier than ever since Sonny is getting married and will need time away. So Titan will be occupying his time. Nicole mentions she'd like to go back to work, Brady's jealousy surfaces, he thinks it is actually because she wants to be with Eric, despite her protests.

Doug & Julie open the door to the Center to find Eric asleep at his desk. Yep, all a dream. They wake him, talk of how well the center is doing, how much help Nicole was, maybe they can get her back. Julie goes off, leaving Doug with Eric, sealing letters. (Dang, that Doug is still one terrific good looking dude, lol)

Gabi is knocking on Eli's door, he opens, mandatory only towel clad, of course. She wants to thank him for saving her, he is apologizing for shooting at Raines, could of hit her, she shrugs it off, wants to take some self defense lessons, he used to be an instructor, and we get a series of "lessons" of someone attacking Gabi, and her fending them off. (Eli has dressed). At one point, he is outside the door, she opens, attack, etc. & Julie shows up. Awkwardness. Julie wants to apologize to Eli for all the terrible things she said to him after he arrested Abe, should have trusted him, etc. etc. She butts out of his affairs, he can keep the Martin house, be happy. She leaves.

Next, she shows up at the Kmansion, thanking Nicole for all she did at the Center, that they are probably going to get one of the grants she wrote, they could use her back there still. She is happy Nicole has her baby back, knows she will be busy, but sure could use her. Brady comments that the Kiriakis family has a few other charities or foundations they support, so she still could do good for Salem. Julie leaves, Brady says it is her decision. She says the Kiriakis foundations only mean writing a few checks. Back & forth about Eric again, she states over and over there is nothing there, she loves Brady. Well, now Brady has some business, she will take Holly for walk.

Rafe & Hope are in bed, wake up, have the morning off, jabber a bit, have a morning romp, then talk of their engagement. He wants to set a date, she is in no hurry, what's the rush? Chatter, chatter about that, but Hope thinks everything is going good between them, they love each other, sex is great, why not just leave things as they are, and have an endless honeymoon. They repeat that word a few times, and evidently agree to endless, kiss.

At DiMansion, Andre is upset, so he, Kate & Chad get into a 3 way stone throwing thing, sniping at each other, making accusations, yada, yada. (by the way, Kate managed to undo her braid, and her hair is down!). Abby is the mediator, and eventually, after some time, gets them all to agree that they have to work together to get DiMera Enterprises back on track. Later, Kate is making calls to assure people, as is Andre to rectify that news conference stuff. Chad thanks Abby, who figures she soon will be a DiMera again, they kiss, exchange I Love you...

Eric & Doug finish the last of the envelopes, Eric thinks Julie will be back soon, Doug doubts it, as she is making her rounds, some remarks about having the woman the heart wants, Eric gets up to go get the letters mailed, and leaves.

Brady goes into the Pub, sits at the bar, staring at the bottles of whiskey on the shelf in front of him.

Nicole sits on a bench, the buggy in front of her, talking to Holly about having the family she always wanted, but still wanting to help people. She looks up, Eric stands in front of her.

P.S. Eli gets a call from his friend at the Bureau, is surprised at the news, hangs up, telling Gabi he will have a lot of time for more lessons, he is being fired.

I kinda feel bad for Hattie. She did save Hope's life but she's going to arrest her anyway. I was waiting for her to say something like "it's my duty". That would've been a good laugh!

Take a hint Rafe. She's just not that into you. I hope this is the beginning of the end for this couple. I also hope they bring on someone new for Hope and don't turn him into a bad guy like Aidan. I still really liked them as a couple. She had moved on from Bo. Life was good

I'm glad Nicole said all that at the end because that's what I was thinking! She has been fighting to get her baby for almost a year and already she wants to go back to work when money is not an issue. I understand wanting to do something for yourself but not a week after you get baby back!!!

I really do like Gabi and Eli together. And yes, Gabi he just does look pretty nice in that towel. :rotfl:

Eli: It's no wonder he was fired. As Rafe demonstrated, Salem is a graveyard for FBI careers. Of course, this vent shouldn't be a surprise. For example, was Eli doing law-enforcement work when the news came? Of course not -- he was giving very hands-on self-defense lessons to an attractive young woman.

Mr. Shin: He actually put Kate on hold? This man clearly doesn't know his proper place. If he keeps this up, he'd better think about hiring a food taster.

Hope: Why is she giving poor Rafe the run-around about getting married, Does she expect Bo's ghost to appear at the foot of the bed on the wedding night?

Andre: Maybe he should show his managerial abilities by opening a vegetable stand in the Town Square. Imagine shoppers asking, "Mr. Andre, is this melon ripe?"

Brady: He really does have an obsession about Eric and Nicole. If he was privy to Eric's dreams he'd have been drinking the Brady Pub dry rather than glowering at the bottles behind the bar.

Hope: Why is she giving poor Rafe the run-around about getting married, Does she expect Bo's ghost to appear at the foot of the bed on the wedding night?

My sentiments exactly. What is this? Why all the hesitation now? Poor Rafe. It seemed Hope was playing with him.

Oh, and about the letters. I watched this part today. Funny how Eric was going to mail them : but there was no address on them, no writing whatsoever. Even the smallest details, Days cannot get them right. Oh, I wouldn't want them to waste paper, but one envelope at least should have had something written on it.

Thanks, Poirot.

You would think Rafe would understand getting married isn't an easy thing to do in Salem. People
from your past come from nowhere. Even dead people come back creating trouble.

I thought
a honeymoon happened after you're married. I guess in Salem it's before :)

Great seeing Doug. It's been awhile.

Interesting Eli opened the door in a towel since he was expecting a delivery. I wonder
if he likes the delivery person?

Did Julie go on a cruise we didn't know about? She was happy and was ok with Eli
seeing Gabi.

I hate to say this but I'm going to have to disagree with my good friend about about this episode to be a yawn. Oh I'll grant you that not a lot happened but we got character interaction I don't think I've seen before. I'm talking about Doug and Julie with Eric and then Julie with Brady and Nicole. Keep popping those bubbles Ron. Pop, pop, pop!! :)

The shenanigans at the D-Mansion: I kind of got a chuckle when it looked like Andre and Kate were actually going to come to blows. I actually enjoyed Abigail playing peacemaker.

But I'll still more likely to invest in ocean-front property in Arizona than I'll buy Andre's "conversion."

Okay I'll amend that a bit. I will accept that Andre has bonded as much as he's capable with Chad. I'll even accept that he's developed a genuine soft sot for Abigail.

But I do not believe for a half of a nanosecond that he would not hesitate to stab both of them in the back should be advantageous for him to do so. I think the only difference is that the "new" Andre may do it with a regretful tear in his eye but he would do it nevertheless.

Gabi and Eli: Okay I admit it, these were some of my favorite scenes today. I know that's a shocker.

I know katmouse also brought this up but it's a point worth repeating: If Eli was expecting a package to be delivered, why would he lounge around in a towel? That just seemed odd to me. LOL

Julie surprised me at just how not civil she was to Gabi, but she was actually nice. I I had to check my DVR just to make it was still recording the right show. LOL But I'm not sure I bought it. I think she just didn't want to get into it with Gabi in front of Eli. Maybe she's trying a new tack where she's going to try to kill Gabi with kindness.

As much as I enjoyed Eli teaching Gabi some self-defense move,. I'm not totally sure I buy she really needs them. I remember Gabi breaking up a *very stupid* catfight between two models at Theresa's fashion show when she and Paul were modeling for Basic Black and saying she had "some practice." Hinting that she did that regularly while in prison.

I also remember JJ giving Gabi some self-defense lessons and she used it as a way to pull him into a kiss. I think she may just like the idea of getting closer to Eli. That playful little minx.:love::love:

Hope: Why is she giving poor Rafe the run-around about getting married,
I don't blame Hope for being wary. It's been less than a year since the Aiden fiasco, and Bo's death, so I can understand why she's a little gun shy. Of course, she may just be waiting for Peter Reckell (ex-Bo) to need money and came back to reprise the role.

While I agree there was interaction among characters who ordinarily don't interact, and it WAS a good thing....story did not move for anyone, in my opinion. And some of the show was filler. The DiMera gang fight went on for too long, as did Brady's giving Nicole a hard time about going back to work.

Eli & Gabi were filler, he was towel clad for the same reason Rafe was naked in bed, eye candy for the viewers.

Hope has had 2 fiasco weddings...Aiden doppelganger, & Aiden himself, so yep, she is gun shy. Right now, all is well between her & Rafe, don't rock the boat.

However, nothing moved at all, storywise. Except perhaps the writer is trying to change Julie's harpy image for the viewers. Julie SHOULD have been the one to inherit Alice's crown...but instead was portrayed as a nasty, interfering, unforgiving witch.....for years.

(Dang, that Doug is still one terrific good looking dude, lol)
I said this on twitter, too. I was worried about his health a few months back, but he looks terrific today. He needs to be a Salem presence. I also enjoyed Julie a lot today - they should be the glue that's been missing from Salem for about 15 years.

Yesterday and today could have been combined in to one episode. I really liked that Brady was on the phone with John, though. I am pushing for an Eric/Nicole reunion, fast.

I can't dispute any of your excellent points especially about Brady and Nicole. In my opinion he is becoming more and more like the teacher in the Charlie Brown specials every time he opens his mouth I just hear "Wah, wah."

Maybe I'm just in a cheerful mood today but filler doesn't bother me if I still some level of enjoyment out of it and I guess today I did. :)

Brady is back to giving Nicole enough rope. I think he is playing the situation perfectly, given Nicole's intransigence.

Eli/Gabi's self defense practice reminds me of Inspector Clouseau (Peter Sellers) and his valet, Cato. :) I certainly hope the lessons do not foreshadow Gabi joining the SPD.

So, Abby is now DiMera Enterprise's voice of reason. It's a good thing she has been rehabilitated, lest the board consider Chad certifiable for wanting to rush into a re-marriage to recently-looney Abby.

Too much Hope/Rafe; and Eli/Gabi; we only have 40 minutes.

Thank you for providing a summary, Poirot.

given Nicole's intransigence.
You're right. Nicole has a lot of nerve wanting to continue working for the Horton Center. A job she enjoyed and did so well, Julie begged her to stay.

Brady's the one acting like a horse's behind for thinking Nicole and Eric are having a torrid affair behind his back.

Brady cannot even think straight, he is soooo jealous! "Oh, yes, Nicole, I know you love me, but I am sure Eric still has feelings for you. Therefore, you two have to be having an affair You only want to go work there so you can be near him, I get it." Brady is his own worst enemy.

And let's see.........he was SO in love with Theresa, SO in love with Madison, SO in love with Kristen, and back in time..SO in love with Chloe.
