Good morning everyone. Up early and ready for work so having a coffee before walking to the train. I'm tired and had broken sleep. I was awake from 2:30am to around 3:30 or so and slept til 4:30 and got up. Just wanting to wish you all, a safe day, a happy day, take pause to be thankful for the small problems, and embrace each day with open arms. You never know what the day may bring.

Have the best day everyone!!

Good morning Muzza, can understand your waking up, with all the unhappy news you have learned of late.

Last night and this a.m. the lake is like glass, so still, calm. The moon shone so bright last night, glistened off the water. And this a.m., as the sun is coming up, the reflections of the sun, the trees are perfect. Am sure the wind will pick up a bit soon, wish I had a camera, so to show you all.

Absolutely HAVE to get into town today, No ifs, ands or buts about it.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone. Off to another school in a few minutes. This one is a new public school building in a poor town. Geez the tax payers money would've been better spent on computers and books than on fancy-dancy looking ceilings and floors with inlaid mosaic tiger paws (school mascot) throughout the building.

The news of the fires in the northwest US and across the border in Canada is just frightening. There are trucks loaded up here with supplies ready to go to the northwest as well as to Florida. They can't go until the governors of those states give the ok. They all are saying no clothes donations because they sit, get moldy, and have to be destroyed taking too much resources away from taking care of other needs.

Happy Hump Day!

Hoping for a cooling trend, as predicted yesterday, but often times they disappear quickly. We should be 104F today after a scorcher yesterday and then under 100F for a few days. That would be great if the humidity is low! Still looking at the fires up north, the devastation in Texas, Louisiana and Florida, I will not complain.

The fire crews are exhausted. They use prison inmates to dig break lines, but only their best are on the front lines of the fire. They are out of money, out of supplies, too low on firefighters and exhausted. And the news agencies? Our local stations cover them a little, but national news is mostly silent. And still the west burns.

What a beautiful attitude that I wholeheartedly agree with. Thanks or being our morning inspiration.

Poirot: your description of the moon, lake and forested area sounds simply stunning. What a view! Hoping today you accomplish all your town goals so you can cross those off your list. Enjoy the autumnal beauty.

RS: Thank you for mentioning the fires also. Your town is so generous! They helped Houston, now Florida and the West. One reason the governors cannot let trucks through yet is the roadways are not safe either from flooding, debris or fire zones to the left and right. Interesting about the clothing restrictions but sounds wise.

Hope each of you start your day with a little hope in your heart and the joy of life.

Morning Everyone,

Sorry I wasn't around to comment much yesterday. My department at work had a team building event that lasted for the entire afternoon, complete with pizza & salad lunch, scavenger hunt, yard games, and afternoon snacks. I'll have to check in on all of yesterday's happenings.

RS - all those fancy things sure sound like wasted money that should have been put to better use.

Muzz - I sure hope your day is better than your sleepless night.

Poirot - Your view sounds lovely. I try to imagine it in my mind.

Noel - praying for cooler temps and a nice slow gentle rain for you and the rest of the west.

Good morning. The disastrous events happening in our countries (U.S. and Canada) seem to have had a sobering effect on all of us. It is all on my heart and in my mind these days too. I'm hoping for safety and peace for each of you.... all of us.

We have a doctor's appointment (not sick) at 3:00 this afternoon. My attention is directed toward getting both of us ready for that.

Hi everyone!

It's sunny and 80 degrees here.

Muzza, hope your coffee gave you the pep you needed after your interrupted sleep.

Poirot, good luck on your trip to town.

Rs, when is the government ever known for being practical with tax payer money?

Noel, I hope you get some days under 100 soon.

Manda, sounds like you had a fun afternoon yesterday.

OC, good luck with the adventure of getting ready and to the doctors appointment.

Today is my husband's 30th birthday so tonight his parents are taking us to The Cheesecake Factory. He's getting off at 3 so he doesn't have to rush home and get ready.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful day!

Finally, a nice day. Sun is out and it should be close to 80. I took a
fast trip to town to get mulch. Last day of sale at Lowe's. I bought
some last week, but I needed more. I put down two bags when I got
home around the plants the digger likes. I hope that helps.
Cat was outside last night so no damage.

Muzzaman, I hope you'll sleep better tonight. I hope you didn't fall
asleep on the train and miss your stop.

red, enjoy your dinner out with hubby and family.

manda, your job sounds like a fun one with special activities for employees.

Praying for areas in the west.

I hope everyone enjoys the rest of the day and evening.

There has been a shooting in our school district this morning. All schools are on lockdown. 6 victims so far and the shooter is in custody. My nerves are about shot waiting for news and for it all to be over. I can't imagine being a parent at the high school and waiting for the news if it was your child or not.

My granddaughter is sitting in a room in lockdown, not knowing what the hell is going on. She is 6. I can't fathom what she is thinking or what she has been told. We have been told 3 of the six victims are in stable condition. They have just announced there is 1 dead. It's SO sad.

Afternoon. I can't say good afternoon, so much is going on. The neighbors' son and his family, from Fort Myers, FL, are still here. I have seen many campers/motor homes on the highway today and a long convoy of big rigs carrying trailers of lumber, all headed east. It looks like people are on the move to the Hurricane Irma areas.

Shan, I feel your fear. I know you will be there for Ember and give her all the comfort and safety she needs. Maybe this is the answer to home school or not? I pray your loved ones are safe!

Thank You for your thoughts & prayers. They have lifted the lockdown on all the schools in our district and we have learned 1 is dead and 3 in stable condition. All parents have been reunited with their children. Thank you, God!

KT - you are right on with the home-schooling. My daughter said last night before she went to bed she prayed she would get a sign of what was best for Ember. I think she got it today!
