Hattie is taken from her cell, to the interrogation room, where Marlena awaits. These scenes are done very well, since Deidre Hall is playing both parts. Marlena wants to know why Hattie did what she she to her & John. Hattie claims it wasn't them, it was to get back at Alfie/Andre. Marlena notes that if it had succeeded, the electro shock therapy could have been disastrous. Hattie is sorry, recites a whole big "I'm sorry" thing. Marlena asks who she was working with, Hattie clams up (flashback to her & Bonnie trying to deal with Anjelica dropping dead). Marlena presses, but Hattie is silent, insists on being taken back to her cell. But on the way there, insists on her right to call her attorney, Justin, and tells the guard to get her the number.

Theo & Claire are chatting about what advice her gramma gave her about Theo, with Claire talking of being hurt about Theo wanting to be just friends, admitting she was bratty back then, Gramma Marlena told her to try and be a friend. So she has. Tripp comes in with a box, is moving in now. He asks Theo if he thinks Claire would go out with him if he asked her to. Later, when alone, Claire is talking of how nice to be living with her best friend and boyfriend. Theo doesn't want Tripp to be her boyfriend, Theo wants Claire back as his girlfriend, kisses her.

Brady stares at the liquor bottles behind the bar in the Pub, John comes in, and they have a really nice chat. Brady is sorry he was not paying all that much attention, Hattie was avoiding him until the other day, then talked to him, and was a bit strange. John brushes aside Brady's lack of concern about his parents, finally gets Brady to tell him what Hattie said. Brady babbles about Nicole working at the Center, now has Holly, isn't there, but likes working with people. John is no dummy, says you love her, right? She loves you? Yep, says Brady. Well then, fastest way to ruin it all is with jealousy, when there is no reason. She & Eric were not fooling around behind your back, you & she love each other, therefore you have to trust her, and have faith in that trust.

Later, Marlena joins John, they talk about Hattie's lack of providing the name of the person she was working with, John talks of their troubles being behind them, Hattie in jail, all is well, no more problems, he just wants to be with her, hold her. They kiss.

Nicole on the bench with Holly in the stroller, small talks with Eric. He is glad she has Holly, wis a great mom, Nicole came for ice cream..chatter, chatter. Finally, Eric is leaving, she wonders why it sounds like a final goodbye, he only says she won't be working at the center any more. And along comes Brady, who acts all nice, Eric leaves, Brady tells Nicole that he loves her, and should not stand in the way of her doing something she enjoys, did she tell Julie her answer. No, not exactly. Then go do something you like, if you want to work there, then go ahead. She thanks him, he is wonderful, hugs, kiss.

Over at the Kmansion, Sheila is watching her stories, eating chips, feet up on the coffee table. Bonnie comes in, knocks her feet off, they argue nicely back and forth. Sheila may be in a maid's outfit, but she is not doing any cleaning. Bonnie talks of the money, but Sheila doesn't have it yet, and warns her that one word from her to anyone in the house, and out Bonnie goes. She actually gets Bonnie to do her cleaning for her. LOL (Fun exchanges of conversations). In comes Maggie, perplexed why Adrienne is cleaning. Bonnie claims she was showing Sheila the right way to clean Maggie's figurine collection.

Maggie talks to Bonnie privately, is not happy over Bonnie hiring household help without consulting her. They argue, Bonnie prevails. Maggie agrees to keep Sheila on, but she had better be perfect or out she goes. And NO decisions about anything to do with the household from now on, without consulting Maggie first. Agreed.

So, there goes Bonnie, dusting away, all the figuringes, the tables, under them (feather duster), muttering comments at Maggie. She decides to turn on the little TV, has a figurine in her hand, as the news comes on with the info that Hattie Adams was arrested for impersonating Dr. Marlena Evans, and is being held in the Salem jail. A shocked Bonnie drops the figurine.....a thousand pieces.

It's too bad that Victor wasn't on-screen today. He'd probably have made some pointed comments.

"Who ate my kettle-cooked potato chips? Whoever it was, they'll be sorry."

"When is Brady going to stop obsessing over trampy, trashy Nicole Walker and poor, foolish Eric Brady and get back to work at Titan?"

"OMG, somebody broke one of Maggie's ugly statues. What a shame that they didn't smash them all. Her home-baked cookies are great, but she has no taste when it comes to works of art."

"How dare that simpleton Adrienne hire household help without consulting Henderson. Now he'll be sulking all week."

"John, with your life history, how can you ever say that the worst is over?"

"That dim-witted Hattie Adams wants to hire Justin to defend her? Good grief, she'd be better off with some first-year students from Salem Law School."

Eric is being very inappropriate. He keeps invading Nicole's space. His actions do NOT match his words. He says he wants Nicole and "his brother" to have the happy family life they deserve and that he would never do anything to get in the way of that. But his body language belies that! I think he is being creepy.

Thanks, Poirot.

sportzgirl, I wondered about that too since Hope and Rafe mentioned Anjelica.

I wonder if Hattie is getting the phone number to call Bonnie and not Justin.

I enjoyed Hattie and Marlena. I kept hoping Hattie would rat on Bonnie.

So, Claire's little plan worked at least for today. She and Theo kissed.

Bonnie and Shelia were fun too. Shelia told Bonnie she was watching her
stories. After being locked up for ten years she's hardly missed nothing
at all. Sounds familiar.

She & Eric were not fooling around behind your back, you & she love each other, therefore you have to trust her, and have faith in that trust.
I can't decide if I'm thrilled that someone in Salem gave good advice - or terrified because this is usually the precursor to exactly the "not happening" happening.

Even though I have been critical of Brady for his jealous attacks on Nicole, and I do still stand by that feeling, I have to say I think it is a bad idea for Nicole to go back to work with Eric, if she wants to maintain her relationship with Brady. She must know Eric has amorous feelings for her. He isn't hiding it very well, if he is even trying to at all. This is similar to Abby and Gabi trying to keep up a close friendship and hanging out together. As long as anyone in a mixup of "love" has unresolved feelings, the smart thing to do is to make distance a priority. But then I guess we wouldn't have a soap if the characters were smart.

OC, I don't think I have ever disagreed with you before, but I don't think Nicole should have to give up a job she loves because of Eric's (supposed) feelings for her, or Brady's jealousy. Those things are their problems, not Nicole's. She should not have to adapt to their emotions or feelings. As long as Nicole does not reciprocate Eric's feelings, I don't see a problem. Brady should see a counselor about his jealousy...and a few other things. Eric and Brady are the ones with the problems, not Nicole. She needs to get away from Brady, pronto!

I agree with everything O.C. and Kath are saying and here's my 2 cents. Eric is overstepping at times and Brady is really overstepping with his jealousy. He and Eric are brothers (step) and have said they've got each other's backs on more than one occasion but when push comes to shove, they don't and this is their hill of beans to get over.

Nicole, Nicole, Nicole. I love Nicole and if she wants to go back to work then that's her prerogative BUT for someone who has gone through hell to get her baby back, has lost children, pined for children, yearned for a child and the moment she gets Holly back she wants to go back to work/volunteering?? Don't get me wrong, I am not against mothers going back to work after having a child but in this case it doesn't make sense to me that Nicole would WANT to go back given her history with babies. If I were Nicole, I would want to stay home and be with Holly non-stop for fear of it being ripped away from again as it has happened so often in the past.

I'm going to break with tradition, and begin my remarks with a concession. Based strictly upon what Brady actually knows, for sure, about the Eric/Nicole issue, he is perhaps over-reacting.

That said, I feel that if Brady knew what we know about the situation, he would, after a final warning, quickly broom Nicole. Brady, like most of us, would act to protect his self interest.

I feel that a relationship (I have come to hate that euphemism) always includes some degree of control. Hopefully, fairly balanced.

If Brady becomes confident that Nicole's heart belongs to Eric, my advice to him would be, "If you really love her, let her go!"

He and Eric are brothers (step) and have said they've got each other's backs on more than one occasion but when push comes to shove, they don't and this is their hill of beans to get over.
:clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap:

...it doesn't make sense to me that Nicole would WANT to go back [to work]
It seems to be the only way our esteemed writers know to cause angst between Nicole and Brady.

Excellent posts, Muzzaman and A. Guy!!!!

If I were Nicole, I would want to stay home and be with Holly non-stop for fear of it being ripped away from again as it has happened so often in the past.
I somewhat agree (between the K-bucks and Nicole's stashed cash, Nicole never needs to work again); however it's a plot point that there's a child care centre at the Horton Center so Nicole would have essentially unfettered access to her child anyway. (And less time around evil Victor, LOL.)

I'm not sure how much we really disagree. I get tangled up trying to sort out my thoughts about this situation. I agree Eric and Brady are the ones with problems, not Nicole. I certainly agree she should get away from Brady. Don't delay the inevitable. He's messed up and it is not Nicole's fault that he's going off the deep end. It comes down to, how badly does she want to hang onto him? If she is determined to stay with him, she needs to be prepared for the fallout if she takes the job. But given Brady's instability, it's just a matter of time until he destroys what they have anyway, whether she takes the job or doesn't. I can't bear watching her grovel for his approval.

Concerning Eric's feelings for Nicole, I do think distance is the best remedy for someone who has such feelings for another, who is committed to someone else, so if Eric can't get over it, he probably needs to remove himself from the situation, and I'm thinking he might just do that. Still, from Nicole's position, if she is aware of Eric's feelings for her, I don't think I could work in close quarters with someone who felt that way about me, if I didn't have the same feelings to return. As Lil0 said, it's kinda creepy watching him staring at her with a longing expression. I don't know if Nicole has noticed it.

Muzz, a resounding, "Yes!" about Nicole staying with her baby. Why would Nicole want to go off and leave her at all, when she hasn't even had her long enough for Holly to get snuggled in her own crib at home?

Ah yes, the plot.
