Morning everyone. Thinking about those in California that have had to evacuate and hoping some rain or cooler weather will be on its way. Also, thinking about KT and the hurricanes, storms that have been devastating lives.

Our weekend was ours with no commitments and was great. Friday I left work early, came home and painted the kitchen and dining room, went for a drive downtown in the t-bird and grabbed a coffee.

Saturday was a lazy movie, nap, movie, nap day the dinner at Big Sky Smokehouse BBQ.

On Sunday we watched a movie in the morning then had a appointment to to take a look at a tent trailer we were interested in, as we sold our 1984 Star Craft trailer last weekend. I'm happy to report, we've moved out of the 80's and are in the late 90's with our "brand new, new to us" 1999 Coleman Santa Fe tent trailer. We love it and it was so well taken care of it actually looks brand new. Now we just have to wait for spring to use it.

Monday was a holiday and we both spent the day cooking together and getting meals ready for the work week.

Manda, I hope your husband can turn this around. Maybe doing some volunteer work until he can get steady work would help his overall mood. It is difficult to maintain your own composure and general happiness when we see that our loved ones are not ok. Stay strong.

Poirot , hope you are feeling a bit better. Packing sucks as it is let alone when your flat out.

Hope everyone has a good day or day gets better.

Good Morning!

Last night I decided to clean, then do some laundry, then rearrange some autumn decorations I found in an unpacked box and so I have not slept for one minute. Now it is time to prep for work, fix kiddo lunches, and make certain my watch alarm goes off. Sometimes I unintentionally make things very hard on myself! LOL!

A coworker has family in Napa & Sonoma and was frantically trying to reach them last night. They live in area the firefighters could not reach due to fire but also fallen power lines. She is on my heart this morning, as is Robin's family. So many disasters in our country in just 2 months time!!

Muzza: your long weekend sounded fabulous and great fun! Kudos on finishing painting the rooms on your to-do list and also prepping for a new week of work.

Poirot: thinking of you and hoping you slept at least 4 more hours during the night. Also hoping your son is making splendid progress on the sorting, packing, lifting, moving agenda you set out for him.

Thinking of you all this new day and wishing you a peaceful day.

Good morning. I woke up at five from a dream that I was part of the Kiriakis family and I was helping Victor cover up a murder. It seemed so real. I was wondering if I really wanted to take a chance on going to jail.

My kitchen drain has been plugged for a couple of days. Fix-it man is coming in a few minutes. I couldn't face twisting and scrunching around on the floor, trying to clean out that trap so was willing to wait for him. Glad I did because I just now took everything out from under the sink and discovered that it is all wet down there. I don't know what's going on.

Noel, I don't know how you keep going and even go to work, with practically no sleep. Be safe.

Muzz, what a nice weekend you had! Congratulations on the "new" tent camper.

We have our first cold front. Is 49* with hard north wind but at least is sunny and will reach 65* today.

Noel - Hope your friends are safe. You are right, it's been a devastating year for natural disasters everywhere. I think this is the new norm.

OC - Too funny. I've had a few Days dreams as well. One dream I had was I was speaking to Lexie and for some reason she was in my bedroom. I knew that I wasn't feeling safe and from what I was told I started mumbling in my sleep. My husband was asking me if everything was ok and all he could understand was the word Stefano. In my dream when I started to not feel safe, I saw Stefano appearing behind Lexie and knew something bad was about to happen. LOL! Dreams are so interesting.

Morning Everyone,

Muzz - congrats on the new trailer. I would have given you our beast of a trailer from the 60's. But alas, I don't think hubby will ever part with it since it was a gift from his mom. It hasn't left our driveway in probably 8 years since we have no way to tow it.

Noel - you must have caffeine in your veins girl. How do you just keep going? I know you must be related the the Energizer Bunny.

OC - that sounds like an interesting dream. I sure hope the fix-it man is able to repair the sink without problems.

JS - that would be confusing for Muzza's husband for sure.

We had a fairly quiet night at my house, although hubby refused to let me cook his cheeseburger. Instead that I "suck" at making cheeseburger and he'd do it himself. So I made dinner for Gena and me. I left his burgers sitting there pattied and ready for him to cook himself. I finally just said if you can't be nice, then don't talk to me. I'm sick of the uncalled for insults and put downs. He hasn't said 1 word to me since.

I don't particularly like this either, but on some level it's better than the alternative. Gena said I make the best cheeseburgers in the whole world and gave me a big hug. I feel the worse for her, to have to watch her daddy completely melt down and on his way to hitting rock bottom.

Tonight I'm looking forward to NCIS. :)

Have a good one everyone.

OC: what a dream! I would never believe you helped anyone be a murderer! And another plugged drain with leak is not what you need right now either. Glad your repairman is on the way to fix the problem. Sure hope your afternoon brightens up considerably more than your morning.

Manda: a big pink floppy-eared bunny with endless energy: mmmm, don't think he's one of my relatives. But you never know what long lost 100th cousin who might show up at my door! [wink]

So sorry both you & Gena are in this position right now. I doubt your husband can see his pain is now causing both of you pain. Of course that is only based on my experience in the same situation. We have to draw boundaries so I hope your comment alerts him to an attitude exam. In the meantime you have your friends at this forum who support you 100%.

Now I hope Poirot is sleeping since she hasn't checked in with us yet.

Morning all.

Received an update from my cousin. She spoke to her dad this morning. They are still without power. The neighborhood is blocked, no one in our out. Yet he received the morning paper. His son, my cousin, has power but can't get to them.

Cousin in Napa appears to now be in a "safe" zone, depending on, of course, wind changes and the like. The ash and other assorted wonderment in the air is not doing my aunt any good. So she is staying indoors. (She stopped smoking 20 years ago after a lifetime of smoking because it was cool) So don't start because she is suffering the consequences now.

Back at the office today. More of the same ol', same ol'.

Manda - you have a safe sounding board here.

Muzz - what did you eat to cause Stefano and Lexie to come haunt you?? Otherwise, congrats on the new camping trailer.

I'll try to get back in a bit. Work calls.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. He finally spoke to me about a half hour ago, so I could set up a 2nd (or maybe its the 3rd) interview with Nestle for him. Not sure if it's for the ice cream warehouse or the pizza plant, but either way, it's a dim light in the otherwise darkness at my house lately.

Robin - so sorry for the concern for your family being plagued by fire, although I'm glad you were able to hear from them. Prayers for their safety.

RS - glad to hear that you were able to get in and out quickly today. Just hoping to don't end up having to go back for all the kids who were sick.

Muzza - congrats on the new tent trailer! So many new gadgets to figure out. So sorry you have to wait until Spring to enjoy. Isn't it nice to be able to take the T-bird out for a little spin before the cold comes?

Noel - prayers being sent for all the people in California. So sad we have been hit hard here in the states. We could sure use a break. Not me personally, but the states that have had the storms and now fires again. Hope you catch a break for a little shut eye when you can.

OC - you just don't seem the type to belong in a murder plot. Sounds like a nightmare instead of a dream. LOL Good luck with your drain. I hope the guy does show up.

Manda - keeping you in my prayers. I feel for you and Gena. It's so sad when children are brought into it too. Gena is such a little sweetie. She loves her momma, that's for sure.

Robinsnest - so glad you have heard from your relatives in California. Praying the winds don't shift.

RS - it must frustrating to show up to school and the kids aren't there. Now do you have to come back again and again. I have never been as far east as you are but I picture a beautiful countryside this morning with all the colors changing. Drive safely.

Praying for all. Have a great day.

Good afternoon all,

Robins, praying for your family and everyone else in CA. What a tragedy. Too many natural disasters this year.

It's been summer weather here for the past week or so, but our drought (like a month without rain) ended yesterday, with downpours all day and high humidity. Our nights were also summer-like the past three nights or so, and will be again tonight. I had my last personal training session for a while on Friday--need to take a break to save money. But I'm still going to be working out on my own, and more often.

School has kept me very busy, but my mediation class is almost over, so that will give me more time. There's been some drama in my grad school cohort. We dedicated a two-and-a-half hour class last night to discussing it and hashing everything out, which was both a waste of time and very uncomfortable. Hopefully things are resolved before the Ireland trip in March! I hate drama on school trips, and already had to deal with a similar situation in Cyprus back in May.

Hope everyone has a nice night.

Robin: a relief to know your family members have survived the fires so far, but very concerning they are unable to evacuate or receive assistance as yet. Continuing to hold them, and you/family, up in prayers. Ahhh, the 'same ol', same ol'' seems alright when natural disasters occur, doesn't it? Have a great day.

Squirrel: sad to hear so many kids out with the flu plus that requires you to return at another date, correct? Sure hope the drive was a beautiful one. Right now my adrenaline rush hit a wall and my energy is crashing despite a diet Coke. However, less than 3 hours to go and these babies keep me focused on them at all times. Oh, those mini-Winnies are fabulous, as JS noted, and updated more than my house. Comfortable per family members who own one.

Manda: thanks for the update. Nestle would be a great company with good chance of promotion & benefits!

KT: Mental Health day is such an important focus on a growing issue in America. My family, on both sides has dealt with this issue very painfully. I am proud of you for keeping hope alive, but not holding your breath either! Hope your evening is a relaxing one with Remmy!

Shan: so thoughtful of you to wish me a nap. At this rate, once I sit down at home I may be sleeping through the night. Lol! Hope your day and evening are relaxing and enjoyable.

Days: dealing with group issues is time-consuming and often less productive than an outright confrontation. I hope the issue is resolved so your trip to Ireland is not marred. Kudos on nearing completion of your mediation course.

Drain fixed. Good thing I didn't try to tackle it myself. It was a mess, all the way out the line. (The kitchen sink drain is piped out separate from the rest of the house. It goes out onto the ground out behind the yard, where it runs off down the hill. We did that years ago so as to not overload our old septic tank. I have been so careful with the kitchen drain, since I had to clean out the trap a year or so ago. I even got a screen strainer to replace the regular strainer. I don't know why it gets gummed up this way.

Hi all, good to read all the news. Mandy, My thoughtful husband brought home two foot long subways this afternoon, so I would not have to cook dinner, plus a 6".I ate half that for lunch when NOT getting Days. Anyway, I asked if he had everything put on it. Nope, just lettuce tomato, the steak, & cheese. There was NO cheese on the 3" part I ate.) Why just that? Because he doesn't like all that other stuff. So what about the rest of us who do? So, I get hollared at for being ungrateful, LOL. Told him he could have had stuff put on just half, or taken it off his. I think it is just the way men think at times.

Your did make me laugh about the patties (also have heard the same as you, lol)

Cooled off some more here, only 50 today, and "wide spread frost" tonight. We will see. Am too far behind one the pre-moving stuff, my son took stuff over, I had some bar stools I had him take, but are wrong size for the counter, What do I know? they had to come back home. He also has been contacting the bundled Phone/TV/Internet companies, the one I want does not service the area in which I am moving. Grrrrr. But was able to weed out one.......but that is going to leave me with my present company. Hate the high prices. Had a well so many years, going to have to pay for water now.

Another busy day for me. I went to school library and had a good morning.
I went to my other friend's church for senior lunch. She insisted I go even though
she couldn't take time off. This was the church I went to in spring for Bible study
on Tues. I couldn't fit in my schedule to go after summer break. Anyway, I saw
several of the ladies there
at lunch today. It was nice not eating alone.

The high today was this morning when I walked Goldie. It might get in the 30s tonight.

OC, I'm glad you got your drain fixed.

manda, I hope your hubby does well on his next interview. Please remember
it's important to take care of yourself for Gena.

Muzzaman, I'm glad you had another good weekend.

kt, an interesting day to have the computer down. I wish there was another place
you could go since this one isn't the best.

Poirot, I'm glad your son is helping you and your husband tired.

Prayers for those in California.

I hope everyone has a good evening and sleep well.

A deal is a deal, a bet is a bet. Thank you@redsquirrel for the wonderful package of goodies that arrived today. Some have been displayed in my new avatar for all to see who, ahem, my favourite hockey team is. Also included were some nice postcards of Pennsylvania, chocolates and coffee that I will be putting in Pittsburgh Penguins travel mug.

New season starts.
