Chad and Abigail gleefully come out from under the covers. Chad says they have to go to sleep eventually. He is sorry that the wedding didn’t go as planned but it doesn’t matter to Abigail. They wish Sonny and Paul had gotten married too. Chad gooses his wife, and they laughingly retreat back under the covers.

Paul goes to the club and runs into Chloe who expresses her regrets about the non-wedding. He’s sorry he couldn’t marry the man he loves, but believes all Ben did was put doubts in Sonny’s head. Chloe says Clyde is not a trustworthy source, but Paul says that Will’s family is clinging to the hope that he is alive. “Even you?” Chloe asks.

Paul says he wants it to be true because so many people are starting to get their hopes up. At that moment, (a three-day-old-sounding) Holly starts to whimper. Chloe goes to tend to her. Paul wonders why Holly is there and asks if everything is alright with Brady and Nicole. Chloe says they are a great couple who are just having some issues. They both hope Nicole and Brady will work things out.

Sonny shows up at the DiMera house and implores Kate to speak with Clyde to find out what Ben knows. Kate adamantly refuses to speak with her lying, psychopathic former lover, because he wouldn’t come clean with her anyway. Sonny reminds Kate how she and Clyde once loved each other, and how he had to tell the man he loves that he can’t marry him because he has to know the truth. He tells a shocked Kate that he asked Lucas if they could exhume Will’s grave and Kate takes off to find Lucas.

Chad and Abigail come downstairs to find Sonny still there. He explains what happened with Kate, and starts to leave, but they offer him a sandwich and ask him to stay and talk. Sonny relates what Ben said to Hope about Will. As Sonny protests, Chad tells him that Ben doesn’t know anything. Sonny has to pursue it. Chad says it can’t be easy on Paul, as Sonny explains that, if Will is alive, the marriage wouldn’t be valid. He loves Paul but he has to see this through. As Sonny takes his leave, he asks Chad to speak with Kate about what he asked her to do. Hugs all around. Back upstairs, Abigail and Chad are eating grilled cheese sandwiches in bed.

A crying Lucas is cleaning leaves from Will’s tombstone as he promises his son that he won’t let Sonny or anyone else disturb his grave. To Lucas’ delight, “Will” appears and tells his Dad that, at the rate he’s going, he will end up in his own grave soon enough. Lucas exclaims, “You are alive!” Lucas is crying and jabbering as Will tells him he was too hard on Paul. Will implores his Dad to take care of himself and that he shouldn’t have walked away from the intervention.

Lucas says rehab won’t bring back his dream or his son. Will says it will bring Lucas back, and empties his Dad’s liquor bottle on the headstone as Kate shows up. Lucas looks around for Will, who has disappeared, as he tries to get Kate to believe him. Kate protests, but Lucas tries to prove it to his Mother by showing her that Will emptied the bottle. Lucas reaches down and picks up a full bottle. Kate begs her son to let her help him, that she is there for him, and he is throwing his life away. “I swear he was here!” cries Lucas. They are both crying as they kneel at the stone. Kate is sorry she hasn’t been three for him but has been using tough love on her son. He says he doesn’t have anything left. (Wonderfully written and acted.)

Kate promises Lucas that, if he will let her take him home, she will do everything she can to “get to the bottom of Ben’s lies.” He has to promise her he won’t take another drink tonight, as he pours out the liquor.

An exasperated Brady texts Nicole as he eyeballs the liquor on the tray. Before he can give in, John comes in and they talk about what Ben said. John believes that it’s possible, and that Marlena has her hopes up. He knows, however, what it would do to Paul. As John starts to leave, Brady tells him about the disagreement he and Nicole had about his taking over at Titan, and that Nicole and Holly aren’t there. Brady, now on the pity pot, explains how he felt Nicole wasn’t being supportive of him. He has left her several voice mails and texts, none of which she has returned. John asks if the disagreement was only about Titan, or did it also have to do with Eric. Brady admits that it did.

Still teetering on that pity pot, Brady says he didn’t have a choice but to confront Eric about his feelings for Nicole and pressure him to fire her. John just shakes his head and realizes that’s why Eric left town. Brady reasons that his brother knew what Nicole needed more than he did. Brady says he tried to take John’s advice and leave it alone, but Victor told him he would lose Nicole if he didn’t do anything. John says Victor probably advised Brady to manipulate the situation until he got what he wanted. Brady protests that he didn’t want to lose her. A now upset John says Brady has to be honest with Nicole and save his family before it’s too late. John leaves.

Chloe comes is with Holly as Brady asks where Nicole went. He accuses Chloe of lying when she says she doesn’t know. He says she has to tell him where she is. She explains that she ran into Nicole in the square, and agreed to watch Holly for a while because Nicole had to go somewhere. Brady’s phone rings, and it’s a tearful Nicole who says she is fine. Brady tells her that Chloe is there with Holly. Lying through her teeth, Nicole says there was an emergency with Brandon (her brother). She had to drive to Chicago, her Blue Tooth (??) wasn’t working and she didn’t get all his messages until she got there. It was a false alarm, and Brandon is Okay. She will be home in the morning. Nicole assures him she is not upset about their argument. They exchange “I love yous” as Eric caresses Nicole’s back and shoulders. Nicole feels terrible, but Eric is not sorry she is there with him.

Brady apologizes to Chloe for sounding so harsh with her, and hopes Nicole gets that *$&^&% Blue Tooth straightened out. He tries to get Chloe to stay awhile but she has to leave to close the club. He senses something is wrong and Chloe (who has inherited Maggie’s Tattle Wagon) actually keeps her mouth shut and she leaves.

Meanwhile, Nicole tells a hesitating Eric how much she wants him and that she can’t fight it anymore. She pulls away and talks about how she wants to love Brady because he fought so hard for her to get Holly back. She’s supposed to hate Eric for what he did, and is confused about her feelings. He says she needs to go, but she declares that she is in love with him. Eric has waited so long to hear that but hesitates because she has a family with Brady. Nicole says she has been confusing gratitude for love, and that Brady knew it before she did. Nicole is through with talking about anything but the two of them. “You’re the one I love, the one I want, the one I need.” (Cue the lightning and thunder as they hit the bed.)

Later, they talk about how right this feels and wonder where they go from here. Nicole doesn’t know what happens next; all she knows is how she feels. Eric wonders where Brady thinks she is. Nicole checks her phone and has to call Brady. “What are you going to tell him?” asks Eric.
(See above.)

John and Paul run into each other in the square. Paul assures him he is “hanging in” and asks how Marlena is taking the news. John admits she was pretty shaken by it. John tells his son that he thinks Weston is playing a mind game with them to get back at those he feels have wronged him. Paul agrees but is worried about how it is affecting Sonny who wants so badly to believe that Will is still alive. Paul says that part of him believes that Sonny is using this as an excuse to get out of marrying him. Sonny, who has quietly come up behind them, says, “That’s not true.” John takes his leave but tells them to call if they need him for anything. Sonny needs answers, but Paul thinks the answer is simple, and talks about Ben’s trying to get revenge on everyone who loved Will. “We don’t know that until we hear what Clyde has to say.” says Sonny.

Sonny spies Kate a little way from them, and Paul asks Sonny if he spoke with Kate about talking to Clyde. Sonny tells him that Kate got upset and took off before he got his answer. Kate explains what happened at Will’s grave and that, for Sonny’s and Lucas’ sake, she will meet with Clyde. She will let him know what happens, and hurries off. Paul hopes Kate can get the answers Sonny needs. “It’s the answers WE need,” replies Sonny. He still loves Paul, no matter what happens.

Oh, my gosh, thank you so much KL, Bless your heart.

Sounds like terrific acting all round. Going to still try and see the entire show, Those dip sticks at that NY station had better have gotten their act together. I could not find any way on their website to write and complain.

Well, well, there were actually autumn leaves falling in the cemetery, and on the bushes behind the sobbing Lucas! Congrats, Days, at last you are correctly in the season.

That said....I was rather shocked to see it was still the same day in Salem. So...were those weddings scheduled originally for early morning? Everyone dressed up, fancy party clothes for the reception, no wedding. We have been to the cop shop, the questioning of Ben, the visit he had with Marlena, and then with Hope. We have seen the dejected couples, Father Louis's return and marrying Chad & Abby......the despondency elsewhere, others running around town. And now Eric/Nicole having steamy sex, while newlywed Chad/Abby giggle under the covers, having a great time.

And it is still the same evening!!! Wow. Talk about time standing still!

Words of wisdom: John Black was right on target today when he said about the possible return of Will: "Given everything I've seen in my life, I'd guess that anything's possible."

Ruined by the writers -- again: Pity poor Nicole, now the writers have had her jump into bed with sourpuss Eric despite the fact that only a short time ago she seemed to be in a committed relationship with Brady. It's a good thing that Sami isn't around. She'd be doing a lot of screeching about Nicole's faithlessness and Eric's bad taste in women.

Get a good lawyer: So Sonny thinks that if Will is still alive, he couldn't marry Paul? If he'd consult an attorney other than his hapless father, he'd learn that when Will was declared dead, the marriage ended.

Never say never: Instead of her usual meddling and manipulation, today Kate actually showed real maternal concern today about poor Lucas. Unbelievable. Recall what EJ once said about Kate as a mother: "If bad mothering made people gay, all of Kate's children would be waving rainbow flags."

Gee, John, you came back from the dead. Your wife came back from the dead. The man you were supposed to be came back from the dead. Your friend Hope returned from the dead. Half of the DiMera family have been resurrected at one time or another. Ma Brady, Cassie, Victor, Doug, Maggie, Jack, Abe and even dear old Alice all became members of the "Ooops, it didn't take" club. And you only guess it's possible??

Which is why it's hard to "get into" the characters so upset when someone "dies". We know they'll be back someday, usually when ratings are bad, which is the reason they are bringing Will back.

Thanks, KathyLu

Great stuff with Kate, Lucas and Will.

Nicole feels terrible she hurt Brady. I feel terrible too because she can't make up her
mind who she wants. Maybe next month it will be someone else.

John told Brady anything is possible, but he didn't say that to Paul about it. Does
Paul know how many times John came back from the dead?

At the end, Abby and Chad talked about their grilled cheese sandwiches. And Brady
apologized
to Chloe about grilling her.

Thanks KathyLu

Loved Chloe with the air quotes when she mentioned Doug's Place

Also liked John throwing shade at Victor when Brady mentioned he got advice from someone else. I only wish that conversation had happened in the Black townhouse instead of at the KMansion.

Loved Nicole quoting Abe. The Eric/Nicole dialogue has been impeccable the past couple days except I wish she would say that Eric has been the love of her life all along. Looks like they're just sweeping the Daniel stuff under the rug.

Abby was funny when she sat on the couch and told Sonny "I'm sittin'" I laughed out loud

Nice love scenes with Eric/Nicole and Chad/Abby though I do think the latter should have gone to a hotel with all the people moving through the DiMansion late at night.

Brady almost seems normal when he's around John and Chloe. Then he changes around Victor.

Good stuff with Kate, Lucas and Will

We can presume TIIC know this, and that's why they have been severely damaging some bodies so that we will be forced to think that the character is irretrievable. A lazy way to increase the emotional impact of a death. This strategy only serves to make the situation even more ridiculous if they then change their minds, and bring back a butchered character.

I wonder what kind of idiotic things the show will do if/when Daniel returns? :drunk:

If I were a betting man, I would bet that Brady (still in his non-wedding attire) shows up at Eric's door while Nicole is still there.

"Be still, my heart!" :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: I wish that I had fast-forwarded the entire Eric/Nicole "love" scene. I especially appreciated Eric's back-rubbing/pecking during Brady/Nicole's phone conversation. :sarcasm:

I wonder who made the love-birds' (Abby/Chad) grilled cheese sandwiches? That could have provided an interesting scene, with plenty of giggle opportunities.

Heather, I love air quotes, and use them when apropos, regardless of the fact that some consider them passé. :)

JS, perhaps, the DiMansion cook should get a name at long last. It might cause confusion if Chad said, "Cook made this really great meal last night," and the listener said something like, "OMG, Xander Cook is preparing meals at the mansion? I thought he was in jail. And who knew that Cook knew how to cook?" Also, if cook ever wants to do a cookbook with a title like Taste of the DiMansion, he'd need a better byline than "cook."

A great episode. I loved the romantic scenes with Nicole & Eric as well as Chad & Abby, who I am warming up to again.

I've been enjoying Chloe but she needs more of a storyline instead of just showing up randomly to talk to Brady or Eric.

I feel bad for Paul, but he needs to be more patient with his fiancé.
