I didn't get to physically see much of RoboJohn, but the times I did, I thought he was really funny.

Robo could be really entertaining: telling a paralyzed Stefano that he was living in his DiMansion, smoking his cigars, and drinking his booze; blackmailing Rolf into working as his butler; and suggesting that batty Colleen Brady was off her meds. Of course, he did have a few downer moments: locking Paul Hollingsworth in the DiMansion dungeon and having an affair with Ava Vitali. (How long will it be before somebody comes to town claiming to be the son/daughter of Ava and Robo?)

Oh, now wouldn't that be interesting?? This time it can be a girl with a chip on her shoulder about not growing up with her crazy mother. (kidding!)
