At the Pub, replay of Steve's blurry view of the menu and deciding on his usual. Kayla laughs, no more French dip, he'll have to choose something. She chides him lovingly, and they are distracted by the lovey-dovey entrance of Roman with Anna (whom Kayla side-eyes). Roman and Anna have been ice-skating, "[their] grandson dared them," and now Roman wants to give Anna some seared tuna. That's what Steve will have. Anna goes to freshen up, Kayla and Roman lay into Steve, remembering how unhinged Anna was last year when she shot Steve. They joke about Roman checking Anna's bag, and Anna returns. She gets a chair for Tony's urn. Roman starts, didn't realize she was still carrying Tony around. Kayla suggests this is a less than healthy support mechanism, and Anna says Tony is like a support animal, and is a reminder of what Stefano did to them. Anna wants to hire Steve to find Stefano, and bring him to Justice. Steve shifts uncomfortably.

They wonder why she thinks Stefano is alive, since he "was dying of about four different ailments when he set Hope up for shooting him." Anna has a flashback to her confrontation with Stefano and deduces that Stefano was too mean to go out like that. She also notes he didn't seem sick when she saw him in the cell, and Steve flashes back to the reveal that it was Shane and Steve's plot. Anna has a recent picture from Turkey, and Steve flashes back to his talk with Shane about the "other guy" who looked like Stefano (who was feeding the pigeons). Roman is convinced of the picture's authenticity, but worries that Anna wants to throw her life away on Stefano. No, but she does want justice.

At the Kmansion, Victor wants to know if Brady has gotten rid of Eve yet. Brady reports progress since his staged fight with Victor. Victor deduces that Brady seduced Eve, whom Brady calls desperate and needy. Victor urges caution. Back and forth, then Victor makes a joke about killing Eve. Brady promises a bloodless coup, and that Eve will go quietly. Victor doubts this, but if Brady is successful, it will mean he could be back in the running for Titan. Brady flashes back to agreeing to work with Eve, and gets a text from Henderson that alerts them to Eve's arrival. They plan more theatrics.

Over at Doug's Place, Eve and Chloe talk about Chloe's discovery. Chloe wonders what Eve's up to, she states just protecting the company her dear departed (Deimos) left her. They talk about how Deimos stole the company, and how Victor is worse than Deimos was. Chloe is OK with Eve standing up to Victor unless she's using Brady to do it. Eve questions whether Chloe has feelings for Brady, but Chloe just says that she's worried for her friend Brady, who makes bad choices when he's feeling bad. Eve postulates that Brady could be using her, seducing her on Victor's orders. Sure she's a little lonely, but Brady's good looking, so she might have gone along with it. Her focus is Basic Black, she won't let Brady get to her. Unless you develop feelings for him? Chloe adds.

JJ takes his resignation in to Hope in her office. (Tomorrow was supposed to be his first day back.) He doesn't want to be in the position again where he kills someone. Hope offers more time off for counselling, JJ reports he is going to counselling, but wants to find a new direction in his life. She can't talk him out of it, but he thanks her for trying. He's going to make every day count. He thanks her for standing up for him, even when it nearly cost her her job.

In one of the police rooms, Eli asks Lani what's up. She flashes back to their boink and to Kayla telling her she's pregnant. He wants to help. She talks about their "Christmas Eve" mistake. They go back and forth a bit as they recount their mistakes leading up to their adventure, including his admission of having once had feelings for her. He gets angry that she's analyzing this too much, and she starts crying. He pulls back, apologizes, wants to stay friends and forget what happened. Back and forth as she insists they can't let it go, he insists she can, she insists she can't, and absolutely no progression whatsoever. (Makes one wonder why they rushed the pregnancy discovery if they were going to stall for weeks.)

At the Pub, Steve gets a call from Hope, who wants his help on a case. Anna pleads again for Steve's help. He leaves, Kayla follows. Roman explains that he understands Anna's desire for revenge, but that's not what he needs in his life right now. Roman reminds her she has a lot to live for, naming Carrie and Noah. Anna asks if he should be included, he accepts if she can move on, although he understands the importance of Tony in her life. He goes to get their food, and Anna tells Tony she won't let it go.

Back at the Kmansion, Eve walks in on the theatrics. Brady pretends to be standing up to Victor. They play games, she kisses him.

Back at the Commissioner's office, Hope gives Steve a file to read. (It says something about Suspect, Roman Brady, and 50% DNA MRCA, unless it's just a prop.) Not a word about the case, as Hope bolts out to meet with the DA.

In the halls of the cop shop, Lani calls Kayla, having made a decision about her pregnancy. JJ overhears.

Man, lots of flashbacks today, and why is Anna so gung ho on finding Stefano? And why after all this time? And carrying Tony's ashes in her purse, putting it on the table for lunch?? She needs counseling NOW!

The Eli-Lani discussion was long and tedius. If Lani came to tell him she was pregnant, then why not do so. If no, she changed her mind, then leave.

So....o.k. I really am tired of the eavedropping, of the private phone calls or conversations, made in a public place so anyone and everyone can overhear. It is as overdone as the open your door to a stranger, wearing only a towel.

Is it me, or did today feel like yet another filler episode? Other than the ending with JJ and the phone call, nothing really seemed to progress. Lani's argument with Eli was pointless if there wasn't gonna be a pregnancy reveal. Similarly, while I enjoyed Eve's chat with Chloe, it's just more of the same ol' same ol' with her and Brady. In fact, Brady's had pretty much the same storyline since he first romped with Kristen at the end of 2012--end up falling for a woman way out of his age range, and it's either a deception on his part or she is tricking him.

I'm also confused as to why Anna is even back if she's still going to be acting that silly way with Tony and her talk of Stefano. What does it really bring to the show? Please, if she's gonna be back, have her move on with Roman. I'd rather see more about Patch's apparent illness and delve into that.

If there's one thing I love about this show it's when "adult" characters have a problem that can be resolved by simply talking and they don't do it it. I just love . :sarcasm:

Yesterday, I half expected Kayla to offer to pass Eric a note in math class asking if he likes Jennifer or not.

The Lani and Eli scene had me rolling my eyes so much I thought they were going to fall out. Now in fairness, I think it could be argued with some justification that Eli should have been able to figure out what Lani was getting at with all the clues she was dropping if he would have just put his on Thinking Cap, especially when she started about "consequences." I think he's old enough to know what some of the possible "consequences" of his and Lani's actions. But alas, Lani was left feeling out and rejected because she simply would not say the words "I'm pregnant."

Now granted, simply saying that would not necessarily have led to an instant resolution, but at least they would have been on same conversational playing field instead of talking circles around each other.

This type of thing is just stupid to me and is another trope like the most recently heavily discussed opening of doors garbed in only a towel or in the all-together that I wish would go the way of the dodo.

Good Lord, Lani. If you aren't going to tell him you're pregnant, then just shut up about your boink with Eli. I am sad that JJ heard her now. This will be his bright light because of course he thinks it's his.

Was nice to see Joe Mascolo (Stefano) in flashbacks. I miss him. They better not even try to go the, oh Stefano is alive route. Only Joe can be Stefano and that is no longer possible.

They really are doing a lot of unnecessary flashbacks. The Stefano stuff was great but Lani and Eli and her finding out she's pregnant

@Troy, the thing that bugged me about Eli not getting a clue about "consequences" is that he is a former FBI agent, and now a Salem cop, which evidently causes one to lose their smarts (yes, am looking at you, Rafe).

But, perhaps, and I do mean perhaps, when he learns that Lani is pregnant......(JJ will be probably on the moon) he will finally realize the score.

The whole business between Lani and Eli was painful and tedious. My gosh, lady, go or get off the pot.

I was wondering if Anna was still carrying Tony's ashes around. And what's with Roman brushing off her shooting Steve as no big deal? I guess it's been so long since he's seen any action that any nut job will do.

And a side note, why is it that everytime something goes wrong, they have to jump into bed with whomever is nearby? Soap or not, it's a worn out and tired scenario, especially when it almost always results in a "who's the daddy?" story.

Rant over.

Thanks, Jason.

Enjoyed the stuff with Roman and Anna. It's nice to see him smile.

So, another sighting of Stefano. He's just like Elvis Presley, people seeing
him everywhere.

I was hoping Lani was going to tell Eli she's pregnant. Instead she kept
dancing around the issue.

So what will JJ's job be next? Will he be a reporter like his dad?

Line of the day goes to Roman when Kayla reminded him Anna shot Steve
He said "Nobody is perfect"

The Eli-Lani discussion was long and tedius. If Lani came to tell him she was pregnant,
I thought he called her over because she looked worried while she was passing by his office/the interrogation room/whatever that set is.
Is it me, or did today feel like yet another filler episode?
I almost lapsed into a John-Black-style coma during the show, so it's not just you.
This type of thing is just stupid to me and is another trope
Hear, hear. I'm even more furious now that Lani's pregnancy discovery was so illogically rushed. It would have had a better dramatic impact if the couples had been moving on, forgetting about the mistaken night, and THEN Lani learned she was pregnant.

Anna is bonkers, but I think this is going somewhere. Meanwhile, I am living for Kayla's reactions to Anna.

KEEP STEFANO DEAD. I need a resolution to this story: preferably that someone is scamming on the DiMeras or that it was just plum mistaken identity.

Thanks for the summary, Jason. I even got the show watched tonight. I have to admit that I skipped a good bit though. I can't watch Brady and Eve. I would have skipped Eve altogether but Chloe held my attention. She had a different hairdo, and I had a dress similar to hers back in 1975. I also didn't bother to watch Lani and Eli. It seems they said about everything they were going to say--yesterday.

Kat, I agree with you about Roman's line being the best of the day. About JJ's future career, I could be wrong, but somehow I can't see him being a reporter. He doesn't seem outgoing enough for it. I don't have any better guesses though.

Am I the only one who thinks that whatever is in the urn is causing Steve's dizziness? I know Anna had a solo scene with it later on but she's also a bit looney so stranger things have happened.

I was shocked to see Shane and Stefano flashbacks yet Sami gets cut out of hers.

The Lani flashback was a bit much.

Looks like my prediction of Lani lying to JJ about the baby may be coming true.
