Chad walks down a hall and pretends to bump into Abby. They talk about Stefan and his management style and how to best get rid of him. He tells Abby to be her charming self to get the scoop. They kiss and she goes to Stefan's office. He asks if the company needs a policy on PDA's (public display of affection) because of her and Chad kissing. She throws in his face about his behavior at the DiMansion (answering the door naked). He asks if she told Chad about it and she brushes off the question.

He's glad she "unquit"; they have a lot of work to do. He asks her to go through a catalog for furniture for the reception area. She blows off the request and asks why he wanted to see her. (to me, she looks remarkably like actress Eve Plumb today; Eve played Jan Brady on the Brady Bunch) He says "here's a clue" as he holds a pen in front of her. She sarcastically asks if he wants her to take dictation. But he wants her to do a press release. She's not happy and tells Stefan how the investors are freaked over all of this. He tells her to have a seat and he hopes he does not have to crack the proverbial whip. She says he can shove the whip up his... and stops, then sits.

Stefan and Abby spar, with her telling him he's a blank slate (prior to becoming "Stefan O DiMera), but a chess champion. She talks of it being genetic since that was Stefano's game of choice. He asks if she knew Stefano and she bristles as she says she did. Stefan sings Stefano's praises, while Abby refutes his claims. He asks if her own father was perfect? That kind of shuts her mouth. She apologizes for trashing Stefano. He asks if Chad inherited any of Stefano's bad qualities, but she says no, she believes in environment over genetics. They continue back and forth in a tension filled conversation (his favorite color is taupe), and he throws in a dig about her knowing more about him than most, after their naked run-in at the DiMansion.

Abby keeps snarking about how she has nothing of substance to use for the press release, because she knows nothing of Stefan. He finally gives in and talks of how Ivan took him from Vivian and dropped him at an orphanage in England and was adopted. She says he has no accent, so he slips into a British accent and mentions "spotted dick" (a British dessert). They go back and forth and she asks what he really wants.

Chad walks into an office where Andre and Kate are kissing. He's grossed out. They talk about giving their marriage a chance. Chad has just come back from visiting Theo and tells them about Theo going away for the treatment and rehab. Kate once again apologizes and he talks about how ultimately it was Vivian's fault for starting everything (cue Andre's guilty look), but they all have to work together and move on from this.

Now Chad, Andre and Kate are sitting as he tells them he hired John to look into Stefan's business dealings and the takeover. Kate thinks it's a good idea, while Andre continues to squirm. Andre doesn't think it's a good idea to have John poking into their business. He's trying to explain why Black Patch isn't a good choice since Brady is John's son and Basic Black is their competitor. Chad made the decision and it's done, as he gets up and leaves.

Kate now asks Andre what he has against John. He chuckles and calls John the man with 1000 identities. But Andre plays it off about being worried about Chad not having proper info to confront Stefan with. Kate is looking forward to confronting whoever helped Vivian and Stefan (as Andre continues to squirm in his chair like his behind is on fire).

Brady and Eve are kissing. He asks where that came from, and she says she was turned on by him defending her. He suggests going upstairs, to which she agrees. The doorbell rings and she thinks it's an exterminator because she found a spider in her room (and you call an exterminator??). But it's Vivian.

Vivian, Brady and Eve all snark back and forth, as Brady tries to slam the door in her face. She tells them that Gabi signed with DiMera Enterprises, so Basic Black has lost her; it's the first handful of dirt on their coffin, prepare to be buried (over acquiring Gabi and her "company"??) Brady and Eve are a little surprised, as Gabi didn't tell them. Then Vivian talks about how she and her son will bring them to their knees, which will seem like old times to Eve (ouch!).

Vivian then barges through the door, while Brady asks if she wants to talk to Victor or Maggie, who are both upstairs. He mentions how Victor married Maggie after Viv left Salem, so once again, Vivian didn't get what she wanted. And if she even thinks of hurting Maggie, there will be hell to pay. Then he grabs Viv by the neck and starts choking her, as she struggles for breath. He stops and tells her to stop being dramatic, he didn't hurt her, then asks if she needs an escort off the property. She leaves and he tosses her purse out the door at her.

Gabi's in her office/workroom and Eli comes in with a bouquet for her. They admire the life-size poster of Gabi and she hopes she made a good decision going with DiMera Enterprises over Basic Black. He asks what made her decide to go with DiMera over Basic Black. Pretty much it was so she could report directly to Kate and she trusts her, and she hopes Brady and Eve understand.

She talks of trusting Eli while he flashes back to him and Lani kissing and falling into the bed and tearing off their clothes, then Lani waking up, confused and disgusted over their actions. He comes back to the present to tell Gabi she's the only woman for him and they kiss.

Reply of Lani on the phone saying she made a decision about her pregnancy and JJ overhearing her. Lani tells Kayla she'll get back to her and hangs up, while JJ is over-the-moon excited about being a dad. They go into the interrogation room as he babbles on, then he stops, realizing she said something about a decision on the phone. He asks if she's considering an abortion, as she breaks down and cries.

Lani tells JJ it's been so hard and not an easy decision she took lightly, but she's not ready to have a baby. She apologizes to him for not saying anything. He's actually calm and understanding, thinking it was because she thought she couldn't depend on him. But she says her decision wasn't about him. He cuts her off and proclaims his love and asks if she feels the same way. She does still love him but this is not about that.

She steps away from JJ, as he asks her what's wrong. She doesn't want to do anything to hurt him. He's very calm and collected while he talks with her, telling her how Eric's been helping him so much. Tells her he knows she's probably scared, but this is a sign, for both of them. She once again cuts him off, saying he doesn't know what he's talking about.

Stefan now talks of family, brings up how close Abby is to her mom and JJ, and was to Tom and Alice, which sets her off. He says Salem is his family home and he wanted to know his family. She says he could've come to Salem quietly and gotten to know his family but instead crashed a party and took over. She asks about his life at boarding school.

His boarding school was in Scotland, taking up botany and spells, and was a Quidditch champion (all from Harry Potter). She's not amused. He does make her laugh with a cartoon voice, and tells her she has a beautiful smile, just as Chad walks in.

Lani tells JJ she wants a baby someday, but she's just not ready now. She's been studying for months for the sergeant's exam. The timing is all wrong. He asks when the time would be right, but it's ultimately her decision. Although, he can understand if she doesn't want to raise a baby with him. No, that's not it, she loves him. He doesn't understand, why doesn't she want the baby??

Kate walks in on Gabi and Eli kissing. Gabi apologizes and Kate tells them to carry on, happy employees are good employees. She wants to make sure Gabi has no regrets. Nope, life can't be any better, replies a smiling Gabi.

Vivian is now with Andre (who told her about Chad hiring John). Vivian says that John Black is a bumbling fool and an idiot. Andre says they can't risk John finding out they are in cahoots. He's pretty upset and tells her to leave. They have to act as though they hate one another. Viv calmly says she'll do her best, then leaves.

Chad tells Stefan he's not to speak to his wife like that (as Abby gets up and stands with Chad). Stefan thanks Chad for joining them. Stefan speaks rather reasonably to Chad and extends his hand, which Chad accepts, with a smile.

Brady apologizes to Eve about how he treated Vivian, that he normally doesn't put his hands on a woman like that. Eve tells him he can put his hands on her as they get all touchy-feely and head upstairs to the bedroom.

Eli brings a stack of boxes into Gabi's office, then they kiss, again.

JJ tells Lani this is happening sooner than they thought (they talked of having a family someday), and he'll do whatever she wants. But he asks her to think about it a little more and asks her not to end the pregnancy, as she continues to sniffle.

Kate is now back in Andre's office, as Abby and Chad enter. Abby tells them Stefan came to them from Hogwarts (Harry Potter's school) via Canada, but wonders what he's hiding. (as Andre continues to squirm)

Now Vivian is in Stefan's office, telling him that Chad hired John Black to investigate him. She says Andre is afraid people will find out he and Vivian are playing Stefan, but little does Andre know, that she and Stefan and playing Andre, as they both smirk.

Hey guys, did you know that Lani and Eli had sex on Christmas Eve? No, seriously they did. How do I know? Because either Lani or Eli or both flash back to it two or three times an episode, that's how I know.

If there are three types of scenes I would like to see a moratorium on for the rest of 2018, it's these three: 1) Scenes of people answering their doors clad only in towels or in their birthday suits; 2) People not resolving problems by just getting to the point and 3) Eli and Lani's Christmas Eve flashbacks.

I mean, it's gotten past the point of :beat:. By now, that poor horse isn't just hamburger, it's puree.

:clap:Brady: He hasn't exactly pleased the viewers lately, but he deserved a big hand for the way he tossed Vivian out of the K-mansion. Too often, slimy Salemites go where they shouldn't be welcome and nobody bats an eye.

:sick: Stefan Zero: Vivian's boorish son continues to work toward being the sleaziest Salemite of 2018. The taupe-loving karate expert and exhibitionist continues to offend everyone's sensibilities. The sooner this creep gets his comeuppance the better. Would there be room in the magic sarcophagus for both him and Vivian?

 Lani & Eli: Yesterday, these two bored the viewers to death with their endless blather, and today they interacted with their significant others while withholding critical personal information. Abe should do everyone a big favor and have them keep Theo company while he's treated in Capetown.

in a tension filled conversation
Oh was that what that was? I was uncomfortable and bored. A remarkable feat.

I said most of what I had to say on twitter (I was even featured in an article about today's episode!), but I'll try to rehash it here:

1. StefanNo is gross.
2. I don't believe StefanNo's REAL parents were worse than Vivian and Stefano - that's practically impossible.
3. I wanted to like Lani, but she's pathetic and I can't get behind this boring, rushed, unoriginal "story".
4. I'd have been OK with Brady putting Vivian in a sarcophagus again. BUT DO NOT CHOKE OLD WOMEN and think you're a hero. That scene was gross.
5. Even worse, it turned Eve on. Disgusting.
6. StefanNo's lame attempts to flirt with Abby/make her laugh were not only inappropriate, they were actually painful. No joke - I was wincing while I watched.
7. I did laugh when Vivian said Eve's face was "ravaged with worry," but other than that, I hope she/StefanNo/André/Kate all end up betraying each other and going off my screen permanently.

I'm in total agreement with JasonD regarding Brady's strangling of Vivian and Eve's reaction. I totally get them hating Vivian, but there's no excuse for him attacking an elderly woman that way. I'm so sick of his manhandling, which seems to have become the regular for him. Brady & Eve as a "couple" is also beyond nasty. I'd almost rather see her with JJ! Speaking of which, JJ has been through enough lately, that it's cruel for Lani to (seemingly) get his hopes up by not telling him the truth of her affair. I really don't want this dragged on and wouldn't mind seeing him reunite with Gabi. I just want the truth out already! Same goes for Eli and Gabi.

Stefan is nasty and creepy. As someone mentioned the other day, he reminds me of Scooter (I think that was his name?), the married Canadian guy who was constantly hitting on Nicole. He's beyond inappropriate, and it would be nice if someone shut him down, quick. I am glad to see that Vivian seems to have fooled Andre and that he'll pay for his betrayal. Can't wait to see what Abigail, Chad, and Kate do once that truth is revealed.

I thought that yesterday Lani was in the conference room and JJ put his head in, but today she was in the middle of the squad room making her call and JJ walked up on her. Am I going batty?

Thanks, JS.

I've been wondering myself if Abby was going to tell Chad that Stefan saw her in a towel.
She told Chad she saw Stefan naked. Why hasn't she told him about the towel?

Should we be sorry for Andre? Nah. He's so upset John is going to find out he's
working with Vivian. Now we know Vivian lied to him, and Stefan knows everything.

I kept thinking Lani was going to tell JJ the truth about the baby. She had plenty
of opportunities today.

I would rather see the scenes that have been edited out as flashbacks instead of the
Eli/Lani one over and over again.

Seeing Eli carrying those boxes into Gabi's office (or is it a studio?) reminded of when Doug and Julie were moving into the Horton house and we a got a spoiler that said "JJ carries Julie's items into the Horton House." I'm sure we all remember that momentous event. How come Eli's actions didn't get any mention in the spoilers for this week? Could it be whoever is in charge of the spoilers feel asleep at the wheel? :)

Here's the scene of which you speak:

Reading the spoilers? :rotfl:

Omg Lani! Can you ever just spit something out?!! I feel bad for JJ. He is so hopeful now. I still wonder if it will end up being his. She hasn't had an ultrasound. We don't know how far along she is.

GabiChic is still a mystery to me. Viv says it's going to be a very profitable subsidiary. Really?

I'm unclear what age they are portraying Stefan as. The actor is 45 but they seem to be playing him younger. Maybe 30's? His flirtation with Abby is getting old. I am hoping they will make him more likable. I like the actor so I am hopeful.

I remember Lani asking how far along she was, but then the next scene she was all upset. I don't remember Kayla actually saying how far along she was, although I could've missed it.
