Chad & Abby sit in the living room, rehashing everything to do with the murder of Andre DiMera. She even insists that restless Thomas was asking for Uncle Andre, she told him nothing, just sang for him. They go on endlessly, talking of Gabi, the cops, her insistence she did not do it. Chad believes her, so does Abby, both agree that Gabi needs to know they believe her, especially since Trask is out to get her, still upset Gabi got out of prison early. Later, they are in bed, this time Chad's turn to get Thomas to sleep, both exhausted, exchange I love you, and settle in to sleep. (as most of the viewers will during these scenes.)

Replay of Steve collapsing at the hospital, he stops breathing, Kayla does CPR, Marlena calls for help, and and orderly & nurse arrive, standing there, looking ridiculous as they just watch. (Any medical people are just gonna love this scene). Kayla gets Steve breathing again after mouth to mouth, she orders gurney, room, tests, etc. and the two people scatter. Later, Kayla comes out of Steve;s room, has a long conversation with Marlena about Steve, his symptoms, knowing it is auto-immune but doesn't fit any of the known ones, as she lists them. She cites the various tests, Marlena knows how upsetting this is for her, listens, which is what she is good at doing.

Kayla goes back into Steve's room, he has had some tests, but refused the last set of sedatives, hates drugs. She talks to him lovingly, embracing, kissing, and finally convincing him to have the next set. No other way for them to rule out what is NOT causing the problems. Steve knows he is getting worse, finally agrees.

Marlena has called John, left a message about Steve, is upset he has not called her back. She calls him again, leaves another urgent message. She knows he was supposed to meet Steve, and Steve is there, Where are YOU?

Sonny sits in the Kmansion, Ari comes in, woke up, where is mommy? Sonny says he had so much fun with Ari today, he asked mommy if he could have her another day, and mommy said yes. In comes Grampa Justin, gets a hug from Ari, who evidently goes off to bed now, while Justin lets Sonny know he checked over the divorce papers, all in order. They talk of Will, the amnesia, how Sonny hoped Will would get his memory back, remember their love, blah, blah. He knows that might never happen, so, will go forth. Justin says that the traumatic thing Sami tried did not work, but who knows if something else will trigger it, and Will will not only remember Sonny's love, but how much he loved Sonny.

Paul turns to find the “ISA man” pointing a gun at him, knowing he followed him. Paul tries to deny it, then admits it, and the man knows exactly who he is, his past baseball career, the whole shebang. Paul tries to get the guy to say who he is, what is going on...no dice. The man remarks that he has the Gun on Paul, who thinks they might have to do something about that. Oh, look, here is my dad now. The man turns to look, Paul takes advantage, big struggle, Paul ends up with the gun. However, the man knows Paul won't kill him, so just walks away. Paul tries to call Will, who is not answering.

And that is because Will confronts John, knows he is trying to poison Steve, which John attempts to deny. But Will saw him pour the vial the man gave him, noting he and Paul overheard their conversation. John finally says it is ISA business, but Will is going to call Marlena. John pulls a gun on Will, no he isn't. They have quite the conversation, but John is determined, sorry, but you have to come with me. Takes Will to the Andre mausoleum, inside, where no one can hear them. However, Will's phone goes off (vibrate??) he sneaks it out of his pocket, sees it is Paul, turns it on, so Paul can hear him asking John why did he bring him to the Andre DiMera mausoleum?

Inside, John is holding the gun, Will is trying to talk his way out of it all, Paul of course, is making fast tracks there.

Will tells John, he doesn't want to do this, John tells him it is too late now. Paul is outside the door, hears a gunshot, opens the door. Will is on the floor, Paul says what have you done, rushes over to kneel by Will. John is pointing the gun at Paul, wish you had not come here son. Paul is shocked, what are you doing? Scene shifts to outside the door....and Bang.....a gunshot.

It's like Bizarro World Salem.

I really hope this is all some long con on John's part, to make someone (maybe somebody dirty at the ISA) think he's following their orders.

I think John has a plan. Am sure Will & Paul are probably just knocked out, unconscious. Blanks in the gun, or knockout darts?? But that ISA guy was ready to do Paul in.

If Steve is in on this, as some think, I cannot believe he would his sweetness thru all this worry, nor put himself in a situation where his health would be impaired.

I am hoping the drug, which is untraceable, so John has said, is harmless. Back years ago, Steve was given a drug (which Rolf has used recently on Will) to make it appear he was dead, but he wasn't.

Also, with Justin babbling away about maybe some new traumatic thing happening to Will, cause his memory to return.......am guessing perhaps whatever John did...may turn out to be that "traumatic" trigger for Will.

But if so, hope Will retains his present personality, and not that one he had before.

I'm putting $10 right now that John shot the coffin/vase/whatever because he knows (as established yesterday) the ISA or whoever is following/watching him.

I was disappointed Paul didn't ice that creepy ISA guy.

I'm not sure which I want more: this trauma to make Will's memory return, or this trauma to lead to an "OMG we're going to die" end-of-the-world boink for Paul & Will. I don't think anyone believes for a second that Will was brought back (at great length/effort) to be killed so soon. Too much to hope that the latter happens, and then when John returns, the former happens? LOL

So John poured the poison into Steve’s coffee and then sets the coffee tray down outside the pub to pull the gun on Will, then walks off and leaves it?!?

Wait, so Brightdays, you mean to say you don't purchase expensive coffee at the local coffee shop, poison it for a "friend" and then simply walk away leaving it out for anyone??? Really, you don't do that?? I'm shocked. :rotfl: I thought I was the only one who didn't do something like that. Apparently it is quite common.

Thank you for the write up, Poirot, and for the extra giggle today, Brightdays.

After today's episode, I agree with others, Will is getting his memory back soon! I do like him and Paul in this action instead of just going from room to room talking about who's crushing on who. (for now).

Will someone tell Tripp his dad is in the hospital?

Chad and Abby's talk has me suspicious.

I know I've complained of boredom lately, but I too enjoyed this episode. It was over quickly, which usually means it's a good one. However, Abby and Chad I tuned out completely - did they accomplish anything in their talk? (I did catch one bit - that I liked - where Abby said she believes Gabi is innocent.)

Speaking of Abby, I thought this was funny...

I don't think in this day and age of social media the show would be able to keep a spoiler like "John assassinates Paul and Will in cold blood!" under wraps, so obviously something else is going on here. But nevertheless, that was still one humdinger of a cliffhanger!

You don't see that much anymore, so I say kudos to them.

Now that the news of Gabi's arrest *sigh* is making news in the Salem media, I can just see Julie's reaction. I picture her sitting at a table at Doug's Place, with her arm crossed, a self-satisfied expression on her face saying: "See? I've been trying to tell you that girl's got the devil in her. Mmm mmm mmm." While shaking her head.

I remember Melinda Trask when she persecuted err, I mean prosecuted Hope for shooting Stefano, but I didn't really form much of an opinion of her. But hearing Sonny and Justin talking about her attitude towards Gabi, I don't think she and I are going to get along at all.

By the way, how cute was Arianna in her robe?

I must have misheard Chad, did he actually say that Andre was just like Abigail "always seeing the good in people?" I seriously thought he said that but I have to be mistaken. My hands instinctively went for my hair the instant Abigail started rhapsodizing about Andre. But then she realized she was "probably idealizing" him. I will give her credit because her gift for understatement is quite impressive. But now that she realizes that, I hope it means she will stop because I just don't have that much hair left.

As far as their Gabi discussion goes, I admit it wasn't exactly "Must See TV", but I didn't mind it. Because I've secretly always thought it be nice if she wasn't on an episode she would at least be discussed.

Okay, maybe that last part isn't really that much of a secret.:)

Agreed on all counts. And even the dimmest bulb would have to know that the show didn't jump through hoops to explain Will's return, just to waste him a few months later. I mean, there hasn't even been a headwriter change!! LOL

John does appear to have lost his mind, which as others have said is highly unlikely. If not, John could be in a world of hurt if he's harmed Paul and/or Will. In descending order, here are the threats he'd face.

:eek::eek::eek::eek: Sami: After screeching "I told you so" at poor Marlena, she'd do to John what she did to EJ when she thought her children were in danger -- promptly put a bullet in his head.

:eek::eek::eek: Sonny: A heartbroken, infuriated Sonny might be so angry at John that he'd ask Victor to bring the lethal Xander back to Salem to inflict some very serious payback.

:eek::eek: The DiMeras: It might make for a good scene if Zombie Andre, outraged by John's desecration of the DiMera mausoleum, breaks out of his crypt intent on making him pay for his lack of respect for the resting places of the dear, departed DiMeras. In the alternative, Stefan Zero might just call on DiMera stalwarts Sergio and Ricardo to make John pay for trespassing on sacred DiMera turf.

:eek: Grandfather Narita: If he learned that John had harmed Paul, he might just get his father's WWII officer's samurai sword out of the closet, come to Salem, and slice and dice the Coma King.

 The Salem P.D.: If Rafe and Hope can stop smooching for a minute, Lani can stop weeping, and Eli ceases frowning, the Salem P.D. might eventually get around to arresting John for assorted serious felonies.

I agree with all of you who have suggested that John is not doing what it appears he is doing. No way are they killing off Will and Paul and Steve, and for all practical purposes, John, since his character would be ruined forever even if no one ever figured out he was the murderer. But someone please tell me they are not going to make it appear Paul and Will are dead, and then subject everybody in Salem to their funerals and saying goodbye and grieving. If that happens, I will tune out until all of the mess is over.

I'm also holding out for a twist in the John story. John and Steve are very smart. The only thing I can think of is maybe Kayla is in on it too. By the way, after Steve collapsed, the directing was awful. What was up with those close ups of Kayla ordering people around? That should have been a wide shot. Also, when Kayla gave mouth to mouth, Steve was audibly breathing already. Horrible execution.

I had to fast forward Chad and Abby finally. I'm not here for them going on and on about Andre. They need to get out of this Dimera bubble once and for all. Move out of the DiMansion and get Abby a job at The Spectator and Chad back to running his own business.

Nice to see Justin. Too bad Adrienne wasn't with him.

Okay, they are not going to make it appear that Paul and Will are dead, and then subject everybody in Salem to their funerals and saying goodbye and grieving.

I live to serve. :)

Seriously, I don't think we'll have to worry about that. I think John is just going to stash our intrepid wanna-be Hardy Boys somewhere safe where they are out of danger and out of his hair. But I don't think it's going to go as far arranging fake funerals or anything that. At least I sincerely hope not.
