Notice how many mothers are on the show right now? My least favorite is the contrived mother of Daniel, Maggie and her "Oh, I was so worried". He was only gone for 2 minutes. I really want her other kids to show up and set her straight.

Who's your favorite or least favorite. My other least favorite is Mama Hernandez:clap:

I think Sami is a lousy mother, as is Kate. Sami professes constantly how much she loves her children, but we really don't see that. Daniel shows more love towards Parker than Sami ever did towards any of her children. Does she ever talk of taking her kids to the park, the beach, swimming, a movie, etc., even if we don't see it? Nope. Others have to come over to help the kids bake cupcakes, cookies, etc. Now she is talking of sending them to "sleepover camp" for a couple of weeks.

And Kate?? Her idea of loving her kids is to stick her nose into their business constantly, manipulate their lives, dictate who they should be with, where they should live, etc. It is no wonder they move far away, or when in town, try to have as little to do with her as possible.

I will also add Maggie's overbearing hovering of Daniel to the least favorite list of Mothers...inasmuch as she never raised him, did not meet him until he was in his 40s, and she ignores those children she did raise.
And Daniel himself is an ungrateful son, with his lack of even mentioning, or remembering the parents who bore him, raised him, etc.

From an interview Shawn Christian (Daniel) did fairly recently, it appears there may have been scenes taped (or planned) in which Maggie was shown being frantic and worried for days because she couldn't get in touch with Daniel. But as it turned out, the only time it was mentioned was the day Daniel brought Kristen into the police station. Maggie was talking to someone at the K-Mansion (I think it was Brady) and mentioned in passing that Daniel was at the medical conference and she hadn't spoken to him.

Then, yesterday, we had the scenes of her over-the-top gushing about how worried she was. Just seems as though they cut some scenes or maybe never taped them or something.

As for Mama Hernandez, while it does seem as though she's a dead-beat mom, missing the funeral of her daughter Arianna, the memorial service when Rafe was presumed dead in the safe house explosion, Gabi's graduation and weddings, Arianna's birth, Rafe's severe injuries and now Gabi's imprisonment, hard to fault her since the writers have never made her more than someone they talk to on the phone. Not like she's traipsing around Salem ignoring her kids, like other Salem mothers.

One of the best mothers on the show was Nicole, and she's not even a mother. She always had baby Sydney in tow during that storyline (yes, I realize she kidnapped her but she was very loving and devoted to that little girl) and when she was married to EJ and was stepmother to Johnny and Sydney she was really good then, looking out for their best interests, like when she went behind EJ's back to let Sami see the kids when he had taken them away from their mother. It's amazing to me that TPTB have this thing against Nicole being a mother. I'm actually hoping a few months from now Nicole ends up in the hospital and gives birth to a perfectly healthy baby (via her lovemaking with Eric a few months ago) in "I didn't know I was pregnant" fashion.

OMG, the list of bad Salem mothers just goes on and on. If all the mothers in Salem are as bad as Sami and company, the local child protection services would collapse under the weight of its caseload. Other candidates for bad mother are not in Sami's class, but they still leave something to be desired: 1) Adrienne for her constant meddling in Sonny's affairs; 2) Eve who not only meddles in Paige's life, but also tells her bald-faced lies; 3) Celeste who set Lexie a fine example by involvement in such plots as the bizarre scheme in which Sami would think she burned EJ to death; 4) Susan Banks Crumb who may have been sidelined as EJ's mother by Stefano, but who never seems to write, phone, or send a birthday card to her darling baby boy; and 5) Marlena who makes a good show of parental caring, but who "ruined" Sami's life with her infamous tabletop tryst with John Black. Another candidate might be Stefano's never-seen mother. She might have been a kind, caring woman who had no influence because of Santo, but she could have spent all her time shopping for luxury goods, eating out at four-star restaurants, socializing, and traveling, while leaving young Stefano in the care of governesses and tutors.
