We found out last Thursday my husband needed heart bypass surgery. Events flew past from the time I was called into the room to talk to the cardiologists and view the video of the catherization until we came home.

He went for additional tests later Thursday afternoon and Friday morning then met the surgeon Friday afternoon. We were surprised when he was scheduled for surgery Monday morning. The weekend and Monday were difficult as I waited for it to be over, praying he would come back to me.

It was made more difficult by the rude hospital volunteer complaining she had to buy new uniforms and didn't have the report of surgeries and the family of the man whose surgery was pushed to later in the day due to the emergency case (my hubby) saying they were told they didn't expect the other guy to make it. It was the longest day of my life. Thankfully the surgery was successful and he came home Friday, almost one week after our lives turned upside down. He has a long way to go with recovery but doing better everyday.

I always tell my children they do not know what others are going through, and I kept that in mind Monday as I prayed for my husband and for patience to not react to those that were making a nightmarish day harder. I pray that others remember they do not know start others are going through as they complain over seemingly small things. Please pray for those in difficult times, continued recovery for my hubby and peace. Thanks

Prayers going up, JMJ. It'll be a long haul through cardiac rehab, but encourage your hubby no matter how down he gets.

I had emergency heart surgery 6 years ago, and went through cardiac rehab. At times I wanted to give up, but my family, friends, and Spectator family kept me going.

How I feel your pain! I went through it 7 years ago with my husband. But the good news is that at the age of 80, he is doing fine now. Our prayers go out to you and to those who were able to help you in a possible way. I know what a blessing that is. We will also pray for the volunteer who evidently "lost her way" that day which was a downer to you. May God bless you all with good health now AND patience!
