Days of Our Lives - Wed., Sept. 17, 2014

I was pleasantly surprised that JJ was able to get Paige to listen to his side of the story and believe him right away. As I've said before I don't mind this pairing but I'm not particularly interested in them. I'm just glad that we're not going to be subjected to two or three weeks of JJ running after Paige, begging her to listen and just having the same conversation over and over again. Which apparently is going to be the opposite of what we're going to get with Rafe and Jordan.

I am as impatient as anyone with the continued lack of anything remotely resembling momentum with the Jordan/Clyde/Ben storyline but I do find Clyde intriguing for some reason. Maybe it's just because in a genre filled with polished, clean-cut Armani suit wearing types I like seeing someone a bit rough around the edges. Plus I liked how Clyde was every bit of dismissive of EJ as EJ was of him.

I rarely watch any of the show, but watched the Aiden/Hope scenes after I read today's summary. Yes, I wanted to see her take off her wedding ring, too. However, when she met Aiden, she was wearing a huge sapphire ring on her left ring finger. At the end of the show, she had an engagement ring and wedding band on that finger. (Oops!) I saw her take off the engagement ring but not the wedding band.

Sami looked top heavy in that outfit. That short skirt would have looked better with a short-sleeved or sleeveless blouse. She looked like an ice skater or cheerleader.

I fast forwarded the Sami and EJ scenes, absolutely no interest in watching them on screen but I did enjoy the rest of the show.

Loved the Aiden and Hope scenes, they seemed so nervous, glad Aiden asked her out on a real date.

Hope writing her letter to Bo had me teary eyed, you could see her pain and her anger. I am glad she took off her ring.

I like the sister feud between Theresa and Eve, just wish Eve was being used on something other than the Paige and JJ storyline.

The recast of Chad in my opinion as been a good one and I am definitely interested in watching him and Kate work together.

Really wish they would speed up the Jordan storyline, it's time we found out what happened between her, Clyde and Jerimiah

Hope's writing that letter and filing for divorce would have carried much more weight had she written that letter months ago and had being holding on to it, conflicted over whether a divorce was what she really wanted. Instead, it comes off as if she's ending things with Bo, not because he's left her and Ciara, but simply because she's lonely and has met someone who tickles her fancy. I like Hope with Aiden, but the way they've gone about destroying this marriage makes the entire thing stink. Bo and Hope's marriage should have been addressed when Hope and Aiden hated each other.

While I agree that this should have been dealt with long ago, I think Hope waiting, being patient, is what Hope would do. She already was frustrated & unhappy BEFORE things began happening between her and Aiden. Ciara was unhappy, was acting out, Hope was trying to make excuses for Bo, when she really had none, did not know what was going on. When John returned with that letter for her....she was really upset with Bo, but did nothing more so not to upset Ciara. So, now, she has met someone she enjoys being with. And she realizes she cannot hold onto what WAS, has to live with what IS.
Reality is, her husband left her and his family, has deserted them, his whereabouts are unknown, for over 2 years now.

I wondered how far Salem U was since Paige talked about a bus.

Did JJ actually tell Paige he was drugged? I know he told her the
side effects of roofies, but I don't think he told her he was.

I laughed when Theresa talked about John having amnesia. I bet he
won't have it if he wakes up :)

Chad and Kate. It is interesting they will be working together.
Stefano must have done something awful for Chad to hate him.

Hopefully, the post office will forward Hope's letter to Bo.

I wonder how fast Hope can get a divorce since Bo isn't there to
sign papers. Isn't Hope legally married until the divorce is final?
Is it ok for Hope to date if she's married to someone else?

Wait, it's Salem, I forget they usually do things the wrong way.

Thank you for the write up! The last two days our local station has cut in the last two minutes of the show for the "tracking of the storm" here in AZ which we never got so I missed the final part of Hope and her letter. It seems like it's the last of Bo and an era.

Paige told JJ she was going to be late for the bus. Salem has a bus system?? Seriously??

Sure, the bus goes right by the Horton Town Center to the College, the Medical Center and to the PUB and Sonny's place!!! It also takes most the little kidlets back and forth to school every day. AND, in the driver's spare time, it goes out looking for people to ferry to Smith Island!!

She can divorce Bo in absentia, the same as Jennifer did when she thought Jack was on his walk-about.

In re: the letter. The post office only forwards for 6 mos., then returns the letter to sender. I am guessing Bo may have had a P.O. Box rather than a street address, since he was moving around a lot. But who knows?
And yes, JS is correct about being divorced "in absentia". The only thing that would have to be done would be to publish a notice in the local paper, and/or the paper in the town/last known address of the other person.

Does the divorce take longer when it's done "in absentia"? I've heard
some have to wait years to get a divorce if a spouse leaves and doesn't come back.

Maybe in Salem, the divorce will be finalized quickly and Hope
will have papers by the end of the month :)

I'm sure it all depends on the laws of each individual state. But since Salem, USA has its own unique laws and rules, I'm sure she can be legally divorced shortly after licking the envelope and putting a stamp on it.

I do have a few jaw drops at times, and that bus comment was one for sure.

They always talk like Salem is a small town and at times it seems so, but in the past, we know they are river city, 2 hospitals, a lake, several nightclubs. etc. And one of the hospitals is a University hospital----oh yes, they have a university, too. So, a bus system doesn't really seem out of line.

A good episode, I watched it because I wanted to see the Hope-Aiden scenes, and the Hope divorce scenes Very beautiful done; I teared up. I was also pleased to see the Chad-Kate parts and Jordan-Jeremiah-Chad. Very intriguing, and well-done. I loved that Rafe was doing his job and Roman was on, but Rafe and Jordan at the hospital is boring...the writers need to get the hint that nobody cares about this dull couple. EJ-Sami...nasty. No words. The Theresa-Eve scenes were alright too. Eve looks good with her hair up; they need to have her do that more often.

I was pleasantly surprised that Paige came to believe JJ so quickly, and that Eve's plan probably will not drag out as long as we thought it would. But like someone else here posted, I think Heroic Muse, I hate that if Paige was the one drugged, it'd look like rape, but they can't make it the same for JJ. Instead, Paige AGAIN loses faith in this guy she loves and has known for months and thinks he was cheating. I know JJ wasn't raped and thank goodness for that--it is horrible and Days as done this too much lately--but they should've had someone worry about that happening to him, and JJ should've gotten some kind of exam to make sure that wasn't what happened.
