James Scott (EJ) interview about his demise and what is ahead for his future career!!!

Interesting. It appears the role took it's toll on the actor. But I am guessing now, it does seem the pace did him in as well. Glad the actors recognize recycled plots, we certainly notice them right away, lol.

He admitted that the lock, stock, and barrel "golden couple" wasn't a love story, that put a smile on my face. The majority of DAYS viewers have been preaching this for 8 years, and have been called every name in the book, now the actor agrees! Icing on the cake! This was one of his better interviews!

Yup--some time ago, a few years, I remember reading James Scott (ex-EJ; wow, it's really starting to sink in that he's gone as I type that!) say something that hinted towards him liking evil EJ more, and that EJ with Nicole made more sense because she understood him. I think from this interview, it's quite clear that he truly believed that, and his pro-EJ & Sami comments from before were just company drivel.

Interesting read. I agree that the actor seemed to infer that he was not totally enamored with the writing at times and that he preferred when EJ was evil instead of romantic lead. I'm glad that he is happy with his choice and wish him the best with whatever he decides to do. From the sounds of it, he has no intention of returning to Days in the near future, if ever. I'm ok with that. I think the only way I would accept a return of the character would be something completely nothing to do with Sami, whether Mr. Scott returns to the role or not.

Does anyone know what scene the photo of EJ and Sami on the 2nd page was taken from?

wasn't that in the garden when Sami was running thru the wedding details?

Actually, I think that was the day when EJ told Sami about Chad hating him for having sex with Abigail, and Sami admitted that she sent him Will's article, and over time she thinks Chad would forgive him.

He didn't say EJ & Sami wasn't an actual love story or admitted that. He gave his opinion that it wasn't a love story in the true sense. I 100% agree with him that it wasn't in the true sense. But I do think it was a love story, just not the conventional love story. Those get boring after a while to me.

Not to the masses, though. Tom & Alice Horton had a long wonderfully written love story, that lasted for years, even after Tom died.Just one example. Nothing ever boring about them. But James Scott was the actor, the one who had to make sense out of what went on with his character, and that is exactly how he saw the story. A tragedy. Good for him to recognize it.
