Iconic “Days of Our Lives,” NBC’s longest running daytime drama, will be honored at this year’s 83rd annual Hollywood Christmas Parade on Sunday, Nov. 30. Cast members Deidre Hall (Marlena), Kristian Alfonso (Hope), Suzanne Rogers (Maggie), Galen Gering (Rafe), Lauren Koslow (Kate), Peggy McCay (Caroline), Joseph Mascolo (Stefano), Greg Vaughan (Eric), Bill Hayes (Doug), Susan Seaforth-Hayes (Julie), John Aniston (Victor), Shawn Christian (Daniel), Arianne Zucker (Nicole), Eric Martsolf (Brady), Kate Mansi (Abby), Guy Wilson (Will), True O’Brien (Paige), Drake Hogestyn (John), Jen Lilley (Theresa), Mary Beth Evans (Kayla), Bryan Dattilo (Lucas), Casey Moss (JJ), Billy Flynn (Chad), Molly Burnett (Melanie), Meredith Scott Lynn (Anne), Aloma Wright (Maxine) and Christopher Sean (Paul) will participate in the special presentation on behalf of the iconic soap opera, which began on NBC on Nov. 8, 1965.

The cast will make their way down the parade in a presentation featuring the show’s new 50th anniversary logo, where they will be greeted by parade hosts Laura McKenzie and Erik Estrada and presented with a special honor its long standing success.

What better way to start the countdown to Days of our Lives’ 50th anniversary on NBC than to be part of the iconic Hollywood Christmas Parade? We look forward to celebrating this holiday season with viewers across the country, said Days of our Lives Co-Executive Producer Greg Meng.

Added Jim Romanovich, President of Worldwide Media for Associated Television International: “Days of our Lives’ is an incredible success story and has been such an influential show to audiences over the years. It is, and continues to be, the cornerstone of NBC daytime programming. As fans of the show, we are thrilled to give them the tribute they deserve in this prestigious event.

Ah, how about better stories?? That would be a better way. How about some happy couples? Less evil in the town?

Thanks for posting this. Beyond doubtful I'll be spending my Sunday morning looking for the parade on the telly.

Oh, wow........they are honoring Days a whole year before the anniversary? I guess this entire year - 2015- is actually probably doing special things throughout the year???

Good for them, but I still find it strange that they keep talking about the 50th anniversary when it is still a year away. They should just celebrate the anniversary this year, even if 49 isn't really a milestone number/age. Also, if Days want to make it PAST its 50th anniversary, they need to invest some time and money into the future of the soap, and fire the writers and some of the suits. The show is getting even more boring--they need to write better storylines pronto.

I can kind of see it. They are filming six months in advance, so although its a year away for us, for them its only six months...wow did that make sense. I swear it sounded better in my head.
On another note, when i was little they used to air the Hollywood Christmas Parade every year and now not so much. I miss it. It really takes me back. I'm glad they are honoring Days this year. Awesome Idea!!

From their website: Hollywood Christmas Parade is November 30 at 5 pm Pacific Time...to air initially on Hallmark Channel & then on local stations during the Christmas season. I would really appreciate it if clips or videos are obtained that they could be made available here for those of us who can't get the Hallmark station. Thanks

Yesterday it rained in LA.

Oh, wow, it really RAINED! Good sports, all of them. Love that Greg Vaughan (Eric) is wearing that kind of hat!
(Just between us, I really dislike that "forgot to shave" look but...I guess others find it attractive. - Was watching a movie yesterday where a servant told the son who was at some remote cabin, that his mother was expecting him for lunch.....and there was an extra razor in the drawer, lolol)

Looks like Jim Romanovich, President of Worldwide Media for Associated Television International hasn't been watching the show lately
:)
