I believe it was 1991. She came in late 1986 or early 1987 and stayed about four years. Unfortunately, my memory of her is limited to once being home sick and puking while she was on screen. However, I've caught up on some of her episodes on Youtube, which were fantastic. Too bad they didn't allow the character to remain multi-dimensional upon her return.
I don't think anyone is saying she is a bad actress. She may not be the right fit as Eve but she's not a bad actress at all. And yes the writing is awful all around.
Just for the record, I think that Kassie DePaiva/Eve is a great actress (loved her as Blair Cramer on One Life to Live). Unfortunately, she has a huge strike against her - horrible, terrible, no good, very bad writing.
The writers can fix a lot of the problems with the writing for Eve just by taking her out of the teen storylines. The character is more interesting when she is interacting with Jennifer, Maggie, Kayla, and even in a big sister relationship with Theresa.
I would also like to see her and Clyde meet and interact with one another. Paige and Ben knew each other at one time, as demonstrated once at Will and Sonny's apartment when they ran into each other there. It would be interesting if the writers would tie that together between Clyde and Eve.
Of course Kassie DePaiva/Eve is not a bad actress. It is the character we are all taking about here. I think Eve is a VERY DIRTY GIRL/WOMAN. Eve deserves to be found out by her daughter, Paige and get what is due her. I want that sooooooooooooo bad. Eventually, Eve should leave town for good. ShaSha
I do too. I think TPTB made a huge mistake in not making Eve and Theresa's connection her main relationship. It would have been interesting to see a more reformed Eve trying to be a sister to Theresa, resenting Shane putting her in the middle and trying to help Jill turn her life around instead of taking her protectiveness of her daughter to ridiculous extremes.
I agree that Theresa and Eve's scenes are great. They have that sisterly dynamic, whenever they fight or whenever they have a nice conversation (which I much prefer).
