SAMI & EJ'S FIRST SCENE TOGETHER...7/21/97

The first time Sami and EJ appeared together on-screen was on 7/21/97. As Sami talks with Carrie at St. Luke's, Susan holds EJ in the background.

Ah, yes, thank you Jason, that just made my day a bit brighter. LOL

Thanks Jason Sami was yet to know this man would be her dream man and her soul mate in the end I am crying watching this so emotional speaking as a EJ and Sami fan. He was her protector her lover her best friend and a great father to their kids he never leave her heart she told him on his deathbed because he only man that ever put her first.

Just for the record, the BABY in the background is EJ, and I doubt he was able to protect anyone at that point in time. In fact, he needed a lot of protecting himself back then. Who would have thought back then that Sami would be of a mind to marry some kid 20 years younger than her. LOL

He was even younger than Will, then.

It would be fun to compare the ages of characters based on their birth dates to their current ages as portrayed on screen. It would be a lot of work, but it would be fun to see! It's interesting how some characters are SORASed for whatever reason and others, like Ciara, have been allowed to age more or less naturally. For now, anyway!

The funniest SORAS I ever saw was John & Marlena getting married, with little Belle, Brady, there, Shawn D.....the newlyweds go off on a 2 wk, honeymoon, returning to 16 yr. old Belle, 19 yr. old. Brady. Too funny. and then, of course was the silliness of the huge leap in time for Elvis, who went from a toddler to having not only graduated college, but law school as well, passed the bar, then raced cars for several years. Talk about a huge leap of faith. I keep thinking he was a fake, and real Elvis is a teen, back there in London. LOL

He was her rapist, abuser and torturer. He threw Nicole and Sydney out into the street, penniless. He put Rafe2 into the children's lives to torment them. He kept Sami away from her cancer-stricken child. Made Sami tell Johnny she no longer loved him. He kidnapped Sydney and made it look like she was dead. Yeah, he was a real upstanding guy.

Lucas and Rafe never put their lives on the line for Sami, huh???

EJ sure grew in the less-than-ten years he was in England.

SAMI SMILES AT BABY EJ, 8/21/97

In this episode from August 21, 1997, Sami sees baby EJ in his stroller and smiles at him, then thinks about the possibility that Will's real father, Lucas, will be revealed. Thanks to a big case of Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome, EJ returned in 2006 as an adult.

Well now that's interesting. Sami is old enough to be EJ's mother and Will his older brother. This means that Kristen is about 20-25 years Brady's senior, and the Eve/JJ thing is yet another cougar recycled story line. To all future Salem mommies, hide your infant sons and be afraid, be very afraid. In just a few short Salem years Ciara will be on the loose and ready to pounce.

Definitely puts things in perspective as to the ridiculous aging of the characters.

I know this isn't the best way to do it, but after a quick shot at those age comparisons, I saw that it wasn't easy coming up with current character ages. So I this shows the character ages based on their original birthdays, actor ages, and the difference between those ages. I figure we can assume that the character ages should be somewhere close to their actor ages, except sometimes in the older folks. Many of them look way younger than their numeric value of their age! This is just a sampling of the characters... and the ones I could actually find birth dates for. Thanks to Jason47's website and Wikipedia for the info!

Brady should be 22; Eric Martsolf is 43; the difference in age is 21 years

EJ should be 17; James Scott is 35; the age difference is 18 years

I thought it was interesting that the younger the character, the closer in age their corresponding actor seems to be. I included some contemporaries with no character birth dates just for comparison's sake. While it is funny to see that EJ is supposed to be younger than Will, it is also interesting that Sami is supposed to be just 11 years older than Will! And Lucas is 9 years older than Sami. And Brady... he definitely takes the SORAS cake! If there's anybody else you'd like to see included here, let me know, and I'll have excel calculate their ages as well! Hope you found this as interesting as I did.

(Sorry for the poor chart... I couldn't find a nice way to insert one, so I had to manually space between columns.)

Edited to add: Well, that chart didn't take either! Sorry... I'm just leaving it as it. I'm sorry it isn't very easy to look at. The bottom three ages are actor ages, as I could not find any character birth dates for Kristen, John, or Rafe.

I did some editing of that list of characters, actors and ages to make it easier to understand. It was too hard to follow with just the character name and a string of numbers.

Kind of hard to believe that Lucas is supposed to be 9 years older than Sami
