Days of Our Lives
Friday, January 30, 2015

For a Friday, at the beginning of sweeps month, not too much going on. Eve comes ov er to see JJ once again, claiming she has the solution to him and Paige constantly running into each other. She thinks JJ should leave town, go away to school, has a list of 5 possibilities, even suggests going back to England. JJ refuses, he is not leaving his family, this is his home. So she suggests he quit school, get a job some place (gad this is all so dumb). He refuses, wants to know why she keeps coming over there (yeah, those flashbacks again,) is adamant about never telling Paige. Eve angrily leaves, slamming the door.

Over to the bar, where Daniel strides in, berates Nicole big time, on and on and on. He insists she is still in love with Eric, she denies, saying she still cares about him, yes, as she cares about Brady, and Rafe. As he still cares about Jen. She begs him to go back to his place, but no, he adamantly refuses, they done, are over.

Replay of Melanie walking in on Clint, who is talking to Dr. Mandrake, he turns and spots her, but she gets on his case about smoking and it not being allowed. Theresa flounces in, he is with her. She tells Clint to meet her, Melanie starts to try and tell her about Clint talking about her to this Dr. Mandrake, but Theresa interupts, Melanie is jealous that Theresa has this tall cute guy, blah, blah. Melanie shrugs, leaves. Clint starts to question Melanie about coming in that lounge, but she again refers to the verboten smoking, pointing to a sign in case he can't read, gets in the elevator and leaves.

Maggie has come in and jabbers with Brady about the "date" with Melanie, he tells all, about falling in the water, being under the blanket, Victor walking in, yada, yada. Maggie just smiles, asks if those flowers were for Melanie, and then comments that their "date" is probably not over yet. He grabs the flowers, off to the hospital, just missing Melanie as she leaves via the elevator. But....there is Theresa, giving him a hard time for being at the hospital again, when he is supposed to stay away from her. He lets her know the flowers are for Mel, they are seeing each other now, he will be at the hospital quite often, either picking Mel up, dropping her off, Theresa better get used to it, he wants none of her drama. He leaves...A nurse carrying a baby, with the worried looking parents rush by, and Theresa gets all worked up a bit, cannot imagine what is wrong with her. Clint arrives, wondering why she hasn't come down. She smiles, let's go party.

Melanie comes home, Daniel is there pacing, she babbles about falling in those huge heels, tells him the tale, then how she went to work, but now is done for the day. She asks if he knows of a Dr. Mandrake at the hospital. Nope...what about St. Mary's? No, there neither, why? Nothing, never mind.

Serena is happy about finding that elephant, Eric returns, calling her name. She comes out of the bedroom, claiming she was getting feeling bad, wanted to just get control of herself. But she is fine. Yep, sad face and all. However, Eric has some questions, wondering why she was so worried and now upset, when she knew all along that the file Nicole was interested in was not all that important. Serena claims she had no idea what Nicole wanted, but that ALL her files are private, contain info and names, etc. that she has to protect. Eric has more questions, but Serena manages to have pat answers, Eric says he trusts her completely, goes to kiss her, but she puts him off, telling him he is still in love with Nicole, and that maybe they can be together again when he gets over Nicole. She leaves.

Eric runs into the sad Nicole in the square, and .yep, now it is his turn to trash her, yell at her, and warn her. She is to stay away from Serena, and him as well. He warns her that if she bothers Serena at all, he will have her arrested.

Paige is in the club, where Jen is having coffee and inviting her over for a minute. Paige is reluctant, but finally sits down. Jen asks about school, projects, and then mentions JJ and how unhappy he is. She knows what JJ did, and is sorry they both are so unhappy.Paige abruptly takes off, leaving her book behind.

Serena is in her room, I think she destroys the flash drive, then sits down at her computer, having to put in a password, evidently to access secret files. Next, she is on the phone, telling someone that yes, Eric has it, and yes, I want what I have to do next.

When Jennifer leaves, she sees Eve, stops her to return Paige's book. Eve wants to know how she got it, Jen is nicely explaining them talking, but Eve has a tantrum, figures they talked about JJ, that scum, she wants him to stay away from her daughter, he is bad news, and look what he did to Paige, how he hurt her. Eve is yelling, is on a roll, and says something to the effect she doesn't care how much JJ is hurting. Jen asks how does SHE know how or what JJ is feeling. That quiets Eve down a bit, but Jen goes on, asking why Eve herself is always at their house, is always around, and what does she know of JJ's feelings. Eve hurries off.

JJ is sitting on the sofa, the doorbell rings, he figures Eve has returned, but it is Paige. She is very solemn, tells JJ she has been thinking a lot, and figures that what JJ did was partly her fault, as she did tell him she was not returning. She has decided she really doesn't have to know who it was, and wants to forget it all. She knows she still loves him deeply, and that he still loves her. She wants to get back together. Tells him to think about it, they can talk tomorrow. She leaves.

Nicole/Daniel's Club TBD argument was far too loud, They should have been asked to take it outside.
Good to see Melanie stand up to Bully Boy Clint! Theresa would have been reprimanded for making out at the nurses' station.

I'm beginning to come to the conclusion that Serena is avoiding having sex with Eric... And you were right about that elephant, JS! Eric is finally coming out of his mental fog, as evidenced by his interrogation of Serena.

Hooray for Jen/Paige's Club TBD talk! Jen is getting a clue about Eve and JJ!

I was thinking, since Nicole lost her sweet little Pookie:( she has not had a true friend in Salem. So she needs a bulldog to bite several people in the backside! I say bulldog cause they bite and hang on. I even have a name for him, BABS (Bite a backside) and the first one on the bite you list is Eric.

and you were right about that elephant, JS! Eric is finally coming out of his mental fog, as evidenced by his interrogation of Serena.
In that Australian interview, Corday made a comment about the "elephant in the room" and "keep your eye on the elephant". He wasn't very subtle.
Serena is hiding something and is right in front of everyone. He talks about elephant in the room. Keep your eye on the Elephant.
She was looking at pictures of Eric with the elephant in the background and then she zeroed in on the elephant statue in Eric's bedroom yesterday.

What a Snoozefest. Thanks Poirot.

I have a feeling Eric's comments to Nicole are going to come back to haunt him once the truth about Serena comes out.

I cannot even begin to describe how angry I was watching this show today. And Daniel Jonas and his sudden sanctimonious attitude can take his 2 toddlers and hop the first plane out of Salem permanently! I'm glad Nicole went back at him but it wasn't enough. Where is the strong Nicole we've seen in the past? This guy is not worth it!

I'm sick of Eve too. She is just as one note as her sister. We don't need 2 of them.

I tuned out most of the rest even though I was watching live.

I seriously could have skipped this entire episode and in fact FF'd nearly the entire thing. Thanks for the summary. I'd rather spend 5 minutes reading than wasting an hour of my life with this garbage. I think this is one of the first times I FF'd a Nicole scene. I wasn't about to listen to Daniel berate her or to her begging him.

Nicole is one of my favorite characters and I couldn't bear the way that both Eric and Daniel treated her in today's episode. Daniel following her and loudly berating her at the new club, Eric basically telling her she is trash. Just too much hypocrisy floating around those two pretty boys, it's like a stinking cloud of turn-off surrounding them both.

One wish going up to the writers. Please. Karma, let thy name be Nicole. And let her be merciless.

I don't know what's worse, the Nicole bashing show or the total rewriting of Daniel's character to accommodate the Nicole bashing show. If they would keep them in character they would be an amazing couple. But as it is, Daniel suddenly turns into Eric and Nicole is suddenly weak and clingy.

I was really hopeful when Dan was giving it to Nicole and she just walked out. I thought "yay! about time!" But no he chases her down just to berate her some more. I wish she would just finally stand up for herself. I cannot wait until Serena sticks it to Eric. So tired of his attitude. Was glad he was grilling her today though. "Why were you so nervous?" Good point. I'm glad he's suspicious but still hope Serena sticks it to him. I'm a couple days late on this but I did think Will's title for his article was pretty good. The Final Out. Clever. But I should have known, I mean Will is this amazingly talented writer, right? :rotfl:

FYI, Nicole and Daniel were at the Nightclub. I wonder what time
it was. It wasn't very busy.

Mel got lucky with Clint smoking. Before she spoke up, I wondered if
I saw smoke.

Today JJ was remembering doing it with Eve. Then he found Eve at the
door. That would freak me out if I was thinking of someone and they
showed up at my door.

I can't believe Mel told Daniel about her date with Brady.
She told him everything.

Eric had his chance to find out what Serena was up to by looking at
the flash drive. He blew it.

Painful all around. Eve & JJ serve no purpose. I'm no Daniel fan but I'll agree with HM that this is a sharp downturn in his characterisation. I really want Serena to bash Eric on the head with that elephant, take whatever's in it, or on it, or whatever, and leave town.

So...the main floor is the nursery/neonatal unit? Plausible. (Not.) Really tired of this Jeannie T/Brady/Melanie nonsense. I was shocked Melanie was actually working, especially at night, but of course it's only to serve DA PLOT.

Today Nicole named Rafe when listing her lovers. They had sex? I don't recall that.

I wish they did...in reality, Nicole developed feelings for Rafe back in 2012 when he was protecting her baby from EJ, and she'd been attracted to him for some time. But instead of going down the route of a potentially-fantastic storyline, the writers had her in the sack with Daniel instead, while Rafe pined over Carrie.

Anyways, thanks for the summary. Nope, didn't watch today's show, and I'm glad. I can do without the teens/Eve as well as Melanie/Brady/Theresa filler. Regarding everyone bashing Nicole, yup, can do without that as well. What happened to the no-nonsense, tough-cookie Nicole who was married to Victor and EJ and could hold her own against both of them? Why is she now letting Eric and Serena walk all over her while begging the sanctimonious Love Doctor to take her back? She needs to tell all of them to stop bullying her and walk away with her head held high! I'd still like to see her and Eve become drinking buddies, as everyone hates them (though in the case of Eve, for good reason) and they'd be hilarious drinking and making fun of all the Salem losers.

I was more shocked that Jeannie was working at night! I didn't realize HR was a 24 hour job.

Good grief -- just what viewers want -- another distasteful "dump on Nicole" day. :sarcasm: Kudos to those posters who said that Dr. McScruffy wasn't good enough for the long-suffering Ms. Walker. Hopefully, Nicole will get some redemption when the sketchy, elephant-obsessed Serena crashes and burns. Elsewhere, sleazy Clint showed himself to be rather naive about Salem life, expressing surprise and anger that Melanie was listening in on his conversation. This dirt-bag had better wise up -- eavesdropping is a way of life in Salem. Finally, why is Eve still running around loose? She's become totally unhinged and badly needs psychiatric help.
