I don't want to sound like a "mean girl", BUT really, who are these writers? I have worked in the entertainment business and realize scripts are not easy to write, but storylines aren't this difficult. I think these writers are just being lazy at the least. They must really not like their jobs.

I'm thinking they must be unhappy folks! I hope they can find some other type of work where they may have some talent. In the meantime I'll "stay tuned" and hope the newest writers can at least tell a good story! Where can we go with these stories? Chloe/Eduardo? I feel lost!
 
I sometimes wonder if the breakdown and dialogue writers shake their heads and roll their eyes when they see the storyline. Or is it the story idea sounds good initially, but then when it has to get fleshed out, pumped full of filler and repetition, it proves it was doomed to fail at the start?
 
I could buy Chad's indecisiveness if more time had passed before Abby came back. If she'd been "dead" for a couple of years and he'd moved on with Gabi then I could believe he would be conflicted. But Abby was gone only a couple of months at best, most of which he was mourning her deeply. So his feelings for Gabi don't hold any depth for me.

If he'd had time to develop a strong attachment to Gabi we could have had a situation where Chad is the Marlena, torn between two great loves. But alas, he's not.

I'm here for Jennifer and Eric, I know, age issues, but I think letting him age a bit in looks for his prison stint (a little bit of grey in the hair/beard, not styling him so youthfully) is helping - and they can both angst so prettily.

Well, if the writing change doesn't throw Eli under the bus, it's possible Eli and Gabi will be a happy couple. Instead of another abusive male/scared to tell anyone female.

I'd worry about Joey keeping anything a secret too.

Oh goodie, Jade will get hospital time, beause this is the story I want to see. Not that boring Adrienne, with a real life issue.

Dario stung by Abby. Wow. Stung, a new word. The spoiler writers are getting creative. Sadly, the show isn't.
 
Eli and Gabi get to know one another better. [Right now, grim-faced, judgmental Eli, who's going out of his way to be nasty to his poor mother, is no bargain, but if this helps end the awful Chad-Gabi-Abby triangle, let's give three cheers.]

Jade is rushed to the hospital. [Poor NuJade, her character is now little more than a vehicle for contrived soap-opera medical crises.]

Eric decides to take a step forward with Jennifer. [Hopefully, this will go better than Claire's "next step" with the hapless Theo.]

Steve delivers stunning news to Tripp. [Hopefully, the Patch-Man doesn't dish out all the dirt on Ava in one sitting. E.g., "Hey man, did you know that your mother was totally crazy, a major-league liar, a kidnapper, a murderer, and a sex maniac."]

Dario is stung by Abigail’s decision. [What happened, did she decide not to cheat on Chad? If so, Dario ought to feel stung because infidelity is the rule rather than the exception in Salem. E.g., "What, you won't cheat on your spouse?? Everyone in town does it!"]

Steve and Kayla worry about Joey’s ability to keep the truth about Ava to himself. [They should worry. Salemites do have a very real problem with keeping their secrets to themselves.]

Absolutely on target! This Gabi thing came out of thin air after all the anguish Chad and Abby went through to be together. They certainly did not have time to develop a great love. Seems more like lust to me. Total nonsense and it really diminishes the character of Chad. End it already.
 
Now my memory is fuzzy, are Tripp and Joey about the same age?? Tripp older?

I sort of blocked out the entire Ava arc, I guess. Strange, because didn't Joe Penny play her dad?? Perhaps it was during the "you have young kids and a really busy time and a job supporting said kids" that not full attention was paid.

OR is Tripp another one of those magic children ala Paul and John?

And why would Ava take Steve on a fact finding mission if she in fact knew where he son was???

But finally on a Friday afternoon, why am I trying to figure out something that doesn't make sense to begin with? This is days. It's not supposed to make sense.
 
LOL, well.......Supposedly the conception occurred when Steve did not know who he was. Jack found him in Cleveland, brought him back to Salem where eventually, he regained his memory. Meanwhile, Ava had this baby, her father made her give it up. Steve never knew she was pregnant. The odd thing was, at the time, Ava knew him by another name, so is amazing that it is Steve Johnson listed as father on the birth certificate.

Soaps!

Anyway, when Ava finally decided to tell Steve that she indeed had a baby by him, and they went...it seems there were 5 babies that were being sold. They all got pneumonia and died. So......the baby was dead.

And now......ooops, a mistake. Not dead. So to answer your question, Tripp is older than Joey, by a few years. :)

Chloe told Eduardo that he could pretend he is falling for her to make Kate jealous. It was talked about Thursday or Friday.
