SPOILER !! Mother of "Days" actor seems to confirm departure

Not a fan but I think his mother is naturally upset. That said, you know this is a tenuous career choice and there will be many ups and downs. Having your mother complain about your boss (whoever) just shows again how people do not seem to get the impact of social media. My children would be mortified if I took to Facebook and complained about them being fired. Glad I did not have the social media to deal with my kids when they were younger. I think it's worse when it's the adult misusing it.

Life has a lot of changes. Story ran its course, new writers, the saying a new broom sweeps clean has been around for ages. Coaches are let go all the time when a new head coach comes and wants his own team. Players are traded. It does not mean the player did not do a good job. Kind of tired of everyone getting offended. It's part of this business. Learn it and move on.

Whether or not they should have let him go, I don't know. Constantly changing writers and trying to fix the mess of a previous writing team seems to be the norm. This is part of the reason we have trouble following the stories and what they are conveying. Kind of like when your doctor admits you to a hospital and then is not allowed to care for you there, a hospitalist takes over who does not have a clue of your history. But I digress:back::beat:

I may be a bit off topic and I agree with you. A parent would naturally be upset for their child. HOWEVER, in my opinion, parents today become so involved in their children's lives that they just want to fix it instead of allowing their child to fall and learn how to pick themselves up again, and in this instance especially considering her son is an adult. I would be livid if my mother went to social media in this manner. Too often parents side with their children even if their child is so obviously in the wrong and there are no consequences for bad behaviour which leads to a unrealistic sense of entitlement in today's youth that carries over into their adulthood.

Kids are not taught to work through their problems and reach a solution or heaven's forbid, learn to deal with failure because even in school (not every school) kids are not given a failing grade because it might damage them. Kids do not learn how to accept and deal with failure because every child passes just on effort which also does not prepare them for the realities of life come adulthood.

Ok, I'm sorry, I'm off my soapbox for now, but as someone who is not a parent, I WAS parented and feel my generation and older were better prepared for adulthood because our parents made us be accountable and responsible for our behaviour and actions. If I got in trouble at school the teacher was in the right and I probably had it coming. Plus I would get it again when I got home. Plus my dad taught at the same school I went to so he would hear about from whichever teacher had to deal with me. Not today, it seems the child and the parents have more rights than the teacher.

Ok, I'm sorry, I'm off my soapbox for now BUT ANOTHER THING, truly, I'm done.

Muzz, I agree with you completely! I also agree with Moira's post. I feel embarrassed for the mother and the son, when the mother goes public with trying to shield the son from disappointments. Of course every mother hurts for her children of any age but once they are old enough to speak for themselves, let them!

LOL, LisaK, and then went, in person, with cookies.

O.K. I have to say, Joey really looks rather "unkempt" with that hair style of his. But, evidently, the actor will not have it cut. Same as Abby with her hair always behind her ear. I honestly don't see anything attractive about that. Hold it back with a comb, pull it all back in pony tail.......yes, I know, it is just me. Don't like the male actors' stubble, either. It's like they all forgot how to use a razor.

OT: it drives me nuts to see actresses on talk shows with their long bangs swept to the side. Then they keep fiddling with that long piece of hair the entire time they are talking. Either shellac it with a ton of hairspray or use a bobby pin, barrette or headband to hold it back.

I liked Joey's hair when he first started. But this current hairstyle is terrible. I think it takes away from his looks.

:OT: I know marci Miller (Abby) is into vintage, and retro.......I always feel she is channeling her inner Veronica Lake -

So they wrote one son out to bring in a new son?!

Not exactly. We're still seeing the work of the previous head writers. If character of Joey has been written out, it would be the work of the current head writers. Mind you, if the actor is leaving, that does not mean the character is leaving. And, as always, the studio execs have the final say.
