Actor gone?

In his interview, the actor does seem to feel the character of Deimos was treated badly, that he was thinking it was going to be a different direction than what came to be.

I do agree that Griffith did no favors, began the nasty turn, and Higley just made it worse. He doesn't name writers, just refers to them as a whole. But, actually, from the get go, Deimos was bent on revenge of some kind. He was out of jail for a while, and responsible for Bo being taken prisoner, tortured, etc. Bo was Victor's son.

Deimos's "revenge" then got directed at Maggie, whose meds were exchanged for ones that eventually caused her fall & paralysis, even going so far as to have her die without an antidote, thus Victor signed away all he owned to save her.

Deimos was on an evil path from the get-go, however we all have no idea what the actor was told when hired.

And I do agree that network interference had it all just get worse.

Yes, it does not good to get good actors to come aboard, then saddle them with roles that are just awkward insertions.......

It might have been the actor's opinion that Dena Higley wrote his character horribly, but I don't think Josh Griffith did him any favors either. The character of Deimos just did not work from day one, and I am glad his character is going to be gone. Vincent Irizarry (Deimos) fits into the same pattern that Marie Wilson (ex Summer), Melissa Archer (ex Serena), Sarah Brown (ex Madison), and the actress that played Arianna the first.

Name actors or actresses that were successful on other shows but just did not fit into Days. More than likely, it was a case of the powers that be getting the actor or actress on the show to draw in their fans, but not having a long range vision for what they wanted for that character.

Completely agree. First of all, Deimos never should have been in Chloe or Nicole's orbits. Total mismatch in both cases. They should have brought him in for Hope and Jennifer and had a triangle between the 3. Then reveal over time that he was responsible for Bo and Daniel's deaths. But quite honestly, he also would have functioned just fine as a villain with no love interest at all. And he should have been Justin's brother, not Victor's. And also Xander's father. Just a bad setup and writing from Day 1, contrary to what the actor thinks.

I do agree Melissa Archer (Serena) should have been cast as Sarah Horton but not sure the writing would have done her any favors in that role either. If they decide to resurrect all of Ben's victims, maybe they can have it come out that Serena is really Sarah? And then we can see what Ron can do with her.

I would add Kassie Depaiva (Eve) to the list as a miscast as well. She never should have been cast as Eve. I like the actress but am honestly stunned that the show is bringing her back instead of more legacy characters.

OH yes, this!!!!!

:clap::clap::clap::clap:

Deimos had so much potential, but didn't happen.

Jennifer and Hope in a triangle. The potential there amazing. The "cuzs" fighting it out over a man. Better suited for their age group. Sorry, but Jenn and Eric, and Hope and Rafe, just seem like cougar time. They are much too old for either guy. But I know that's just me.

That being said, this version of Deimos is not one I'm sorry to see go. Sorry to see the actor go, but not the character, if that makes sense.

Oh I agree with you on all of this. Deimos as Xander's father would have been great, and it is not to late to recast Melissa Archer as Sarah without ever connecting her to Serena
