Happy Birthday to our Lil0 ! Sending warm wishes for a wonderful day, Lois.

I'm leaving in a few minutes for a school in my northern county. Not much fun this early since we have to scrape car windows. Our first heavy frost hit during the night, and I had to wear a winter jacket this morning. I'd rather just have my snow instead of this junk. Yep, I said the "S" word that many of you hate.

Just read in Reader's Digest that South Whidbey, WA was named one of the "nicest" towns to live in the U.S. I think Lil0 lives there, or close by. When I saw the article, thought immediately of her. What a lovely thing to see for her birthday. :)

Have a wonderful day, Lois!

Good morning. Thank you for those delicious looking cakes! I think I gained 5 pounds just looking at them. :)

Cool and breezy here this morning. I'm meeting a friend later this morning for tea, but otherwise spending the day at home. My daughter hosted a birthday dinner for me on Saturday, so I have already celebrated.

Wishing you all a joyous day.

PS ~ YES South Whidbey is definitely one of the nicest places to live!!

Happy Birthday Lil0!!

Enjoy your day!!

RS - safe travels to your Northern area.

A.Guy - ah, one of the reasons squirrels creep me out a bit. They never bothered me until I had one get trapped in my basement.

Well, so much for a short Girl Scout Leader meeting. Last night's meeting got done about 8:15, almost a full 2 hour meeting.

I'm exhausted and hubby wants to go shopping for a new bed frame tonight. He decided the old waterbed frame had too many crevices and hiding places for the stupid vampire bugs (and sadly he's been getting a few bites here and there still) so the old frame is on the curb and the mattress is on the floor for now. The exterminator will be back on Friday. I pray that this is the last time he has to come, it's like a never ending nightmare.

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Happy Birthday Lil0! Enjoy your day!

We're supposed to be getting 50-60 mph winds starting around 1:00pm. We tied down everything we could before leaving for work, so hopefully everything is still there when we get home. I hope all my Halloween décor hangs in there. I guess winter is coming whether we like it or not. LOL

Have a great day.

I went to a doctor today because I'm still coughing. It's just a cold, but
I'm coughing more than sneezing. He said if I'm not better tp come back and
he'll take an x-ray. Hopefully, I feel better tomorrow and I can go to school.

manda, sorry to hear the bugs are back. I hope they kill them all this time.

I hope everyone has a good rest of the day.

Hope your birthday tea was fun, Lil0. Once again, our friends here have come up with beautiful cakes and other pictures!

Manda, I'd always heard how hard it is to get rid of bedbugs. Sadly, you have confirmed it abundantly.

Shan, whoa, you must be having the awful winds right now. Hang on tight!

A. Guy, crazy squirrel.

Squirrelly Shirley, scraping car windows already? Horrors! I can see why you prefer just plain snow. We seldom get it here, without ice. More often, just ice storms. Ugh!

Kat, I'm sorry the doctor couldn't do anything for you. Colds can be so miserable and it feels very helpless to not be able to treat them. My mother-in-law used to say, "Three days coming, three days here, and three days going." But mine seem to last a little longer than that, and coughs can linger for a long time. I hope you will be better by tomorrow.

My niece and I spent the morning in our county seat town. Oddly enough, we both had business in all of the same places: USDA, county tax appraisal office, bank, and post office. So glad to get these things attended to so I can get some papers cleared off my table. We went to the cafe and ate--hamburger for her, enchiladas for me. (Brought home a hamburger for the husband). It was okay, and nice to be out. If you've ever been in one small-town-Texas cafe, you've seen them all.

The Asian beetles have arrived, just what I need. The garage door was covered with them this afternoon as I was trying to put some stuff in the car. Needless to say, I gave that up. This afternoon, later on, it was the south side of my house, getting in thru door frame, all the walls and window in this room. Outside they are flying in your face, land on your clothes, you don't know it, so bring them in with you. Horrible.

@JS......I am taking things over and putting away, clothes, towels, linens, pictures, hats, lol. Yes, there will be one big furniture moving day, but there is so much stuff to toss, get rid of, etc. It is like there is no end. You never realize what you put up on the closet shelves and forget about. :)

I have taken glassware, some bathroom stuff, but it seems like I don't make a dent. Also, I have items I really don't need any more.

Kat.....from what I am hearing, there is a nasty cold virus going round, and it lasts quite some time. I also am still coughing a lot, but in "episodes", I know this was more than a cold, ....bronchitis....but this is now the 3rd week for me. One of our friends, who came down with a cold before I got sick, is still more or less recovering (in Illinois). I feel like perhaps the bronchitis is almost gone, and now I have the nasty cold. Nahhh, it is still bronchitis, and it lays low for a day, then returns, giving me a bad time.

I'm sorry you'll still feeling bad. I start feeling worse late afternoon. Of course, when you're at the
doctor you don't feel as bad as home. I'm trying try not to take too much cold medicine during the day.

The exterminator will be back on Friday. I pray that this is the last time he has to come, it's like a never ending nightmare.

Yes, I hear you on that front Manda. I awoke this morning to be covered in termite bites! Then called and sent pictures to exterminator, who replied the "soldier termites" do that to protect the ones working. Oh, joy. Sure hope these last empire bed bugs die when your exterminator treats the house.

Poirot & Kat: please take care of yourself first and heal up quickly!

Lil0: Sure hope your birthday was a wonderful one.:)

That nasty cold thing must be throughout the country. My son has had something like that for a couple of weeks. He was really sick all of last week, fever, head congestion. Now has setting into a cough. I spoke with him and the kids on Skype tonight and I could see/hear him getting uncomfortable while we talked, them the coughing began.

Noel, eek! I never heard of anyone getting termite bites!

OC: I had only heard of flying termite bites. They seldom happen in Indiana but do occur. I had never heard of subterranean termites biting but trust me they are little blood sucking creeps! So far no new tubes since yesterday after the exterminator left. I agreed to him drilling holes in the ceiling to use a powder then foam to kill the critters up there. Still, we got bitten head to toe. Creeps me out!
