That is what I wish I was having for breakfast instead of my protein shake. But oh well, maybe tomorrow.

December 1st. This year has flown by.

My boss's mom is in her final hours on this earth, if she hasn't already moved on. Explains a lot.

Hunny Bunny surprised me and put up the outside lights yesterday while I was working. It was such a nice surprise.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Morning Everyone,

Robin - so sorry to hear about your boss's mom. Very stressful thing to have this time of year. Such a nice surprise that honey bunny put up the lights for you.

Chilly morning, but supposed to warm up to 42* degrees today. Gena got sent home from school again today. I don't quite understand why and neither does she. Her tummy was feeling off, but she didn't get sick at school, so I'm very confused. I emailed her teacher to get some clarification since this is now the 9th day of school she's missed this year. One more missed day and the school district can press charges against us for truancy, despite the fact that the school keeps sending her home.

Okay, I'm done venting. My company Christmas Party is tonight, so I'm excited about that. Hubby wanted to stay home, so I'm going with a friend. :)

Manda, I'm so sorry to hear about the problems with the school. I hope the teacher will clarify what this is about. And surely a statement from the doctor and the school staff would avert any truancy charge???? I, too, wonder about stress as the primary cause. Hugs to you and Gena.

JS - yes, I've discussed all that with the doctor. He's referred us over for counseling, I just need to make an appointment. But he's also certain that she really does have a physical problem, and I'm sure this is related to her colitis as well.

Lil0 - the teacher thought it would be better to call me than email me, so I discussed everything going on with Gena with the teacher. They are going to put a plan in place to try to let her lay down and rest in the nurses room or even have some quiet time at her desk when she's not feeling well, rather than send her home right away (unless she vomits). And she said if I get a note from the doctor about what's going on that the school won't prosecute for truancy. Unfortunately our doctor is off on Fridays, so the earliest I can get anything from him is Monday.

Unfortunately we don't have a youth counselor at church, and I'm her Sunday School teacher. She has talked to the counselor at school some about how she was feeling after my mother-in-law passed away, and I told her if she needs to she should talk to her again, about anything that she needs to talk about. Gena's a lot like me in that she tends to bottle up her feelings.

Happy December 1st!

Just home from my last eye exam, post summer surgeries, for 2017. My right is perfect, but my left eye is a bit blurry and peripheral vision declined a slight bit. My pressure is 15 - yay!! For a diabetic my age that is a very good number. My sister drove me and we had a nice chat on the way. She and her hubby are decorating the outside of her house today so she left right away. I am trying to type post eye dilation drops so if there is a typo I apologize now!

Manda: reading all your posts I am relieved to know the teacher took the time to call you and discuss the situation with Gena. The last thing that child needs is a truancy just for not feeling well. Hopefully the resting periods will be helpful until your doctor gets the colitis under better control. Enjoy your Christmas Party tonight. What a perfect way to ring in the month of Christmas! And you deserve a stress-free break yourself.

Robin: kudos to your Honey Bunny for lighting up your Christmas outdoor house. He deserves a fine dessert! Sorry to hear about your boss -- that is a difficult time and we often are not aware of our mood fluctuations as we enter grief. My sister & I are wearing shorts - again. Really I am so over 821F+ temperatures!!! Hope your weekend is refreshing, relaxing and enjoyable.

Lil0: wishing you a great weekend.

JS: glad to know you switched jobs to reduce stress due to workplace chaos. Good for you. Hoping your weekend is filled with some pre-Christmas cheer!

Now it is time to rest my blurry eyes. Make it a great day everyone.

Robin - How nice to come home to the lights being put up. Sorry about your boss's mother.

Manda - so sorry to hear about Gena being sent home again. She must be exhausted over all this. I have a nephew who has had colitis since he was 6 and he is now 11 and wears a bag. He said his life is much better this way and he doesn't remember ever feeling this great. He refuses to go back. Hopefully Gena can get hers under control. Stress does pay a big part of all this.

JS - wow you went through a lot at a young age with that creep. Thankfully you stood up to him. I don't know if I could have. I was quite weak in my younger years.

Noel - congrats on you eye exam. That has to be a big relief after the surgery and all! Wish I was wearing shorts. I'm really jealous now.

Little Ember has been going through major tests and her mom got all the results back this morning and other than a lack of Vitamin D, she was normal on all her tests. The only one that isn't back is the ultrasound. So we are really happy about that. She had told her mom it hurt when she went potty so she took her in and there was blood in her urine. Because she is so tiny, the doctor sent her to a urologist and the test began.

The specialist was concerned because of her size. Nobody believes her that her dad's family are all tiny people. Anyway, they are all ok and we can celebrate this weekend. Her mom and I took her to the fabric store last night and let her pick out material for a mermaid dress she wants. She is really into sewing and she was so excited.

Have a great day.

I had a busy morning baking. Then I went to town for an hour. I needed to return
a package so I could get my refund fast. After lunch, I cleaned up my
baking mess.

manda, sorry to hear Gena still having trouble. I hope she'll find someone she
can trust to talk to. I'm glad the school is going to help with her problem. I know
a young girl who has acid reflex like I do. Some days are really bad for her.
Enjoy the party tonight.

robin, I'm glad you got a surprise last night with the lights. I wish someone
would give me one

Shan, I'm glad there isn't anything seriously wrong with Ember.

Noel, I'm glad you got good results on your eye exam.

I hope everyone has a good evening.

JS: filing suit would have been a long process. At least you had the opportunity to confront him before HR and he experienced the embarrassment he so richly deserved. Bravo for being calm and collected. I think I would become emotional. I also am glad women are reporting incidents now but it needs to happen within the week it occurs (not years ago).

Shan: great news about Ember's medical exam reports. Enjoy your weekend celebration of your sweet granddaughter.

Kat: a peaceful morning baking is always fun. Plus getting out balances your day. Have a great evening.

Happy Weekend all.
