A frigid good morning to all! I hit the sheets very early last night (11:00pm ) and didn't wake till about 6:30! Had a killer sinus headache that is better today. No cold coming, I hope.

OC, I hope/pray that the situation will soon improve for you and yours. Please try to get some rest.

A very restful and safe day to all of you!

good morning.......cold here as well, brrrrr. will be off to church in a bit, have errands afterwards. Never ends, it seems. Stay comfy, get rested today, my friends. tis Sunday. Chores can wait, she says as she looks around at what await her. LOL

Well, my morning was upside down from yesterday morning, lol. Yesterday, I had snow on the bushes and other surfaces, but not much on the ground. This morning I had a heavy frost, so the whole yard was white and nothing on the bushes. Get it together Mother Nature so I can take a full picture, lol!

I'm preparing to vacate this house. I brought the garbage container inside and filled it with stuff I have to get rid of. I figure by the time I'm given notice to move, I can get rid of a lot of accumulated stuff without having to haul it away in my car or something. I hope I can just leave some large items here, since I was told the new owners want to tear the house down anyway. I don't know when my 30 days notice will begin, but I might as well get a jump on it, eh?

The sun is glaring down from a cloudless sky until we reach 75F today. They are predicting our Christmas Day temperature will be 79F: an all time record breaker! I start to get the blues when I think of that but am determined to let nothing steal my Christmas Joy!

My day is planned for absolutely nothing! After church, we are having sandwiches for lunch, watching Christmas movies or tv sports [depends on who has the remote control], sitting in leisurely outfits until dinner, and going to bed fairly early to start a new week. Oh! I was just reminded Frozen is on - again - tonight but we must watch it because there is a preview of "Olaf's" new adventure.

The kiddos are off school for Christmas break as of Friday. They are on a holiday high that could match any sugar rush in the USA. So the challenge is keep them neatly challenged so the entire house does look like a tornado hit it or decorations need replacing due to broken status. Sigh. This is when I wish work was optional and I could just take the month off too. But then I would miss those precious Christmas babies!

AGuy: sending wishes for the sinus headache to completely heal with no cold, virus or flu attached to its tendrils. Hope you have a restful healing day.

KT: what a time to prep for moving and still have to wait for 'notice'. I had expected that had given you notice already. How is the home search faring during holiday season? Sure hope you get a proper snow dusting and your home, yard, and bushes all glisten with icy snowy beauty!

Poirot: I took your pledge, after reading it, to ignore everything chore wise waiting until tomorrow, or the day afterwards, or whenever. Hope you stick to your pledge once home after church & chores. You deserve a quiet restful day too lady!

OC: in our hearts and prayers at church and afterwards today. Angels surround you!

Wishing everyone the Sunday they dream of on Friday!

A pretty day here. I'm not going to afternoon church today. I need to
get things done at home. I'll be getting grandson's package ready to
mail Monday, hopefully. I need to flip the mattress on my bed today,
but I'm going to wait until tomorrow. I've been having back pain. I
hope it's just the mattress.

kt, do you know where you're moving to yet? Good luck on getting ready
early for your notice.

Noel, your kids get a long holiday break. The kids in my area won't be
out until Dec 21. They had a week off for Thanksgiving. Is your sister
going to watch them when you and your hubby not home?

OC, I hope you'll having a restful day today.

Poirot. I hope you're having a quiet afternoon.

Wishing everyone a nice afternoon and evening.

Hi all, and yes, I am not doing any of the chores facing me, none at all, They are talking snow tonight, so I did a bit, just a bit, of grocery shopping, got the Sunday paper, which I have not read yet. I called a friend to let her know that a mutual friend of ours had passed away yesterday. Funeral to be next week Monday. Then we got caught up on stuff. LOL, she lives close by, now, but we have not seen each other, probably cause it is winter....so we are going to try to get some friends together for breakfast after church soon.

kt, you are very smart to start getting rid of whatever it is, I tried to do that, hubby keep insisting we "needed" this or that, and thus I have tons of stuff here to go to the trash. Ugh. (I did give a lot, as I said, to Salvation Army, and Goodwill.

Oh, my goodness, bless Kirk's heart. And he had that really bad stroke so many years ago. Happy, happy birthday. Wonderful.

Kat: hope turning your mattress supports your back strongly to end the pain. Your grandson will be delighted to receive a gift from Grandma but most likely Christmas is far away. Remember how we as children wanted to open gifts right away? A friend is watching over the kiddos this week, then the Hubs is off til Jan 2. He has better benefits and the kids love the food, outings and treats he gives them. I love our peaceful nights because they exhaustedly climb into bed without a whimper.

Poirot: nice you caught up with one close friend but sorry for the loss of your mutual friend. Glad you are taking it easy today. Enjoy a quiet restful holiday evening.

Thanks for the Angela Lansbury tweet honoring Kirk Douglas, Kat. Happy 101st, Sir!

By the way, am pretty sure Angela Lansbury will be on PBS tonight.......Driving Miss Daisy......

Watched Mary Poppins last night....Boy, wish we could see Muzza in it. LOL. I know he has to be very happy that he doesn't have to sing & dance/skip as his character did in the movie. LOL

Tonight it is Frozen on ABC for us, and last night Mary Poppins. I can still sing all the songs. To me Dick Van Dyke and Julie Andrews were perfect. I don't think I want see the new version in 2018. I would like to see Muzza's performance on stage too.

Good evening everyone. I need to go to work with my hectic schedule tomorrow to get some rest from the weekend. All of the Christmas candy is made, and I cut way down on it. Half of the cookies are done now, too. Just pizzelles and the little tiny Italian fruit tarts are left. I was going to make my own panettone (Italian sweet bread/cake with raisins and saltanas (golden raisins) this year, but I don't know if I have the patience for it to go through each stage.

My 5 to 6 inches of snow turned out to be just a dusting on the car. GRRR Now the weather folks are calling for 6 inches Tuesday night. I won't "bet the farm" on it. The temps will be down in the teens and may hit single digits at night.

I just finished catching up with all of the posts that I've missed since Friday.

I'm so glad that Gena will be seeing the specialist tomorrow (Monday). Hopefully it won't take long for him to figure out what is going on.

Poirot - That dizzy/sick episode that you and your hubby had was very strange. Did you eat the same thing the night before?

OC - has your husband had any of the cognitive testing for dementia? His behavior seems to have many of the markers.

Noel - the docs are saying that the preemies may come home for Christmas (with in-home nursing care) if they both continue to improve. Is it normal to keep both twins until they can come home together?

My eyes are starting to close so I'm going to make my way to bed. I'm sorry that I haven't replied to everyone.

Sorry to get in here so late, but I won't have time to stop here in the morning. Going to try to make it to see the doctor and to be there when therapy comes around. They finally started giving my husband real pain medication instead of Tylenol, for the back pain. They also gave him an anti-depressant. He was like a completely different person today! It was such a relief to have him be calm and pleasant rather than agitated and hostile!

The meds made him groggy and he slept off and on most of the time but that's okay, since I was wishing all week that they'd just sedate him. Of course his memory didn't improve and he still didn't talk much but he recognized a man we know from the community, who stopped in for a few minutes, and he did respond to him positively. Also, our son came for a few hours in the afternoon, which was nice.

Therapists came around to evaluate and will be back tomorrow to do therapy. If the husband stays free of pain and in a better frame of mind, I'm hopeful he will try with the therapy.

Squirrel, we didn't do the cognitive tests for dementia but there's no question he has it. We saw a neurologist 3 1/2 years ago. There really was no question even before we saw him.

The weather has warmed up nicely here, though it was in the mid-upper 20s* last night. Wishing all of you a good night, and a good start to a new week.

Squirrel: congrats on your baking accomplishment this weekend. I do a little each day and freeze them tight for Christmas Eve gifts and at home. Yes studies separating twins is detrimental to both babies recovery. We place them in the same bassinet in NICU. They are bonded in the womb and strengthen each other's immune response. That is joyous news they may be home for Christmas!!

OC: finally a pain management plan for your husband before treatment regimes. That truly is great news. Glad you will be there early tomorrow to speak to your doctor too. Your son visiting is the best med on earth. Sleep and rest friend and know you are in our thoughts and prayers.

OC, I'm glad your son came by and your husband is getting the medicine he needs.

A.Guy - Hope you recovered from your migraine. Where I live in Southern Alberta, there is a high amount of people who suffer migraines and it has been speculated that due to the wing and the drastic increases and decreases of air pressure given where we live, that these cause migraines for many.

Poirot - Sorry to hear of the passing of your friend. It'll be nice to get together with old friends as well and get even more caught up. And I am SO glad that so far, I've had one song where I have choreography. The choreographer made the steps fairly simple and it's not that I have no rhythm and can't dance. I can two step, waltz and I do a mean Bunny Hop and Butterfly Dance but putting multiple steps together with a shuffle ball change thrown in for good measure will screw me up! LOL! LOL! In the stage production of Mary Poppins, Bert sings Let's Go Fly a Kite with the kids.

OC - So sorry to hear of the continuing health problems with your husband. It must have been nice to have your husband in a lighter mood after having taken the anti-depressants. Good luck with the therapy.

RS - I need to get on the baking wagon here toot sweet. I need to do some to help out my sister in law. I've mad ea few batches of cookies and my mom gave us a tin of poppycock that she made but I want to make a batch of nuts n bolts and another batch of gingerbread men because I forgot the key ingredient for Gingerbread men. Yup, forgot the ginger. LOL!

Noel - I have yet to make it through the movie Mary Poppins. I've tried twice and both times I fall asleep about 2/3 of the way through.

Katmouse - I cannot believe Kirk Douglas is 101 years old. Amazing. The oldest person I ever knew lived to be 104 years old. I remember seeing him in a convertible every year for our town's parade with a banner that said something like "In honour of our community's oldest living person". Even up until his last year of life I believe he still went in the parade.

The other thing I remember about him is he was the only person allowed to smoke in his room at the hospital (this was 30 years ago) and he smoked up until the day he died and the inside of his two fingers where he'd hold his cigarette were so stained and yuck!! But amazing he lived that long and smoked to boot!! LOL!

We had a lot fun on Friday celebrating all the birthdays in my family. My father was very surprised when my sister from Saskatchewan showed up then we arrived shortly after. My dad was telling a story to everyone in the living room and he didn't notice that we had walked in the room, so quietly waiting for him to notice but he didn't. When he finished his story,I stated to him," You are such a liar"!! and walked away. He looked up and started to laugh.

I guess when my sister arrived, he had some tears in this eyes so it was a successful party. I also managed to take $5 from each of my nieces and nephews and other members of the family by playing a horse racing game. The pot of $60 and I was not allowed to be the banker because I won last time. Well, there was no way they could accuse me of cheating this this time because 2 of the kids said they were going to be the banker. I still won. My youngest told me that next time we played maybe I could just and watch. LOL!

OH and my biggest news is that it's feels like spring here. The weather has been nicer than our May long weekends and we even joked that we could camp in this weather. Calgary broke the record that was held back to 1890. Our temperatures reached 15*C (59*F) and is expected to be like this for a least this week. Hopefully it'll continue so our drive through the mountains on the 22nd will be decent.

Have a good day and week everyone.
