I'm on a mission this morning everybody. :)

Got to meet with 40 other HOGS for breakfast and then off to bowl for money.

It's a fundraiser to help the family of our recently deceased member pay for all the medical bills. I don't know if I told you about us all going down to the hospital before Christmas to sing him carols...well he passed away two weeks ago. Thankfully the weather was cooperative enough that many of the members actually rode to the funeral. Now the family has this financial burden. I know that we won't even put a dent into the bill but we want to show that we supported them still. I am donating a rum cake per month for one year as a raffle price. Others are coming up with other prizes as well. It will be a lot of fun...some tears....hopefully a @#$#@ of money. :)

May you all have a beautiful Sunday. Keep it real.

Good morning folks. Rew, what a wonderful thing for the group to do. Medical bills these days are absolutely horrendus, and insurance never begins to cover it all. God Bless you all. We are still in the deep freeze here, only 5 above, dawn is breaking. Not sure if I will be able to attend church today or not, with this tummy problem. It did quiet down yesterday evening, so we will just have to see how the early morning goes.
Don't have any goodies for breakfast, except maybe some Cinnamon bread toast. I am having to eat very bland. LOL
Supposed to be sunshine today. Have a good one, folks. The sky looks so orangy/pink at the tops of the trees. Pretty.

Good morning ladies and everyone yet to check in. The snow is STILL coming down. I have no idea if I"ll even get my car out of the driveway tomorrow to go to work. I'm finally feeling like I want to eat a normal meal so I put a roast chicken in the oven. I'll be eating chicken in some way or another for the next several days. Then I'll use what's left to make a chicken pie to put in the freezer.

I definitely need to finish my federal, state, and local income taxes today. Everything is electronic except the local ones. At least that only involves a one page form.

@ rew - Your HOG group is wonderful to do the fundraiser for the family. (I just realized that there isn't a hug in the smilies) Your video made me laugh.......Geez, didn't those people learn that you never start to approach the line when someone on either side of you is doing so???

@ Poirot - I hope you start feeling better. That's gone on way too long.

Good almost afternoon here. Winter has decided to make a small comeback here. Highs in the 30s today, wind chills in the low 20s. We're supposed to get a backwards winter 'event' as snow this evening, then switching over to sleet then rain overnight and tomorrow morning. My parents stopped by to bring the girls' Valentine gifts and a table and some chairs we're going to borrow from the for Annabelle's birthday party. Hubby just left on a lunch run, I hope he brings back something good.

Jest update...we had collected $800 when we passed the hat at the HOG Chapter meeting last Saturday. Today we brought that total up to $2150 buckaroos! I donated a rum cake a month in the 50/50 and then ended up winning the cash prize of $180...which I donated half back to the fund. What I have now will take care of the cake making...what more do ya need? :)

LOL, I don't know how I Misses Rew's video this a.m. but I agree with Squirrelly. You NEVER take even one step if a bowler on either side of you is there, especially making his approach. But twas too funny. Made me laugh that the guy on the right did not step over the foul line on his own alley, but threw a gutter ball, and then fouled on the next alley. I wonder how they count that. giggggllling.

The tummy problem which is partially around the back, too. (am being so polite) is attributed to some sort of viral stomach flu which evidently takes a couple weeks to run it's course. Interestingly ....I did go to church, sat on the extreme right side closest to where I could get to the rest rooms if need be. Having taken an Immodium this a.m. (on advice of doc on Friday) I was o.k. But ran into two different friends with the same thing going on. There was a fund raising french toast breakfast after church put on by the youth group, and so I just had some juice and decaf coffee, just did not want to take a chance with anything heavier. And that is how the subject came up. So, my friends were happy for the doc's advice about immodium as they did not want to make a special visit to the doc's office themselves. Ahhh, saving money definitely.

Glad your event was so successful, Rew. And see what your good heart brought you in return...a monetary windfall, that not only added to the fund, but helps pay for supplies for your generous offer. There was a silent auction today for that youth group fundraiser, and both my bids were outbid, but another friend won a home backed pie a month for a year. Made me think of you.

Good afternoon. Rew, that's just super about how all of you are helping out the family. It's a wonderful way to remember and honor the one who has passed on.
Barb, that stomach thing must be wearing you down. My little grandson had something like that for over a week. I'm not sure whether he is completely over it yet or not. I don't know if it is the same bug spread across the country but I've heard of others having something like that recently also. A couple of days of it is bad enough. A week or more is just too much!
Squirrel, I'm glad you are recovering. Roast chicken sounds good. I just had some rotisserie chicken, cold. I hope you get to stay home tomorrow and don't have to get out in all that snow!
Rocky, I hope the birthday party goes well. Sure has been cold this weekend, hasn't it? We're supposed to get a wintry mix over the next 24 hours also. Son and family left a little before noon. We had a good time but they couldn't spend as much time outside as they would have liked. We did take them on a long ride in the truck, as we moved the cattle a couple of miles over to another pasture, then my son loaded the sacks of cubes and scattered them out for the cows. A nice break for my hubby! We also went on a couple of other little tours. The kids wanted to see the river, since it was almost dry the last time they were here. It is still very low but is at least running some now but it was so cold up on the bank, none of us could stay out in the biting wind for long. Granddaughter wanted to know why the weather is always so bad every time they come here. Last time it was over 100* and suffocatingly hot.
I'm relaxing now. May even have to doze for a few minutes. Hope everyone is having a good day.

Good Morning everyone we just got home from breakfast with our friends, We go every Sunday to a Restaurant in our town and have so much fun. It has such good food and is open for Breakfast and Lunch but not Dinner. They don't have the parking for Dinner.
It's nice today but supposed to have rain by tomorrow afternoon. Should be starting to cool of by then too. The Restaurant had 2 baby toys for $1.50 each. I bought 2 for my Chihuahua's. They love baby toys. :) Our oldest 15+ has developed a heart problem and I am so worried about him.I'm sure not ready to lose him yet. He looks so good and feels so good but has developed the heart cough. THe Vet said his heart murmur is now heart failure. He ison Heart meds now just like the two of us!

Rew, your Club is really active and you sould be proud to be a member. Sounds like you all have fun in it.
RS, maybe you can have a snow day off tomorroe.:)Too bad some of your work can't be done while your off !!
RF, I hope that Anabelle's party is a big success. Also hope you don't get too much Winter weather.
Poirot, I wish you could get better a little quicker than you are. Hate that you are still feeling puny..:(
OC, I didn't see you on here and wanted to be sure to wish you a happy Sunday too. How much land do you have? I know that you just talked about a couple of miles to a new pasture. I can't imagine that much grazing land. Their isn't much left here that hasn't been built on . At least on the West side where we are. The East side is dry and hot and still raise cattle and apple trees.

Hope you all have a nice Sunday evening..
    Hugs, Joanie

Squirrelly, I forgot to add that I, too, hope you get to stay home tomorrow, another day of recuperating will not hurt at all. And then maybe that kindly angel of a prince charming might help out in the snow dept.
There is a picture in the paper this morning in Minneapolis St. Paul, of the practically bare lot where they usually pile up all the snow the plows remove from some of the city streets over the winter. On the other side of the lot is this big church with a huge steeple. Along side was a picture of the same lot last year at this time...with barely the tip top of the steeple showing. The article said that at this point last year, there had been over 60 in. of snow, and none had melted because of warmer temps, and this year they have only had 14.5 and of course almost all has melted. They closed most of their lakes to any vehicular traffic (a lot of folks drive out on the ice to fish) Friday or Saturday, some guy went out on a ATV, and right into open water. It was 7 a.m. and he was sooo lucky someone heard him yelling, and he got rescued.
I guess we have had more snow than they did, cuz our fields and forests are still full of snow, the lakes frozen solid.
But I think Squirrelly now has more than we do. Just take it easy girl, and don't try and tackle anything by yourself. :)

Good afternoon everyone. Friend Jim came over to shovel the rest of the snow that I just couldn't finish. He yelled at me for even trying to shovel the stuff while sick. He was making the shoveling rounds today... his daughter's (she has the flu, too), friend Mike's (who just had bypass surgery), and mine.

The crockpot chicken is excellent, but I only had a few bites. Wanted to make sure I could handle it, and I don't want to jinx anything.

    Crockpot chicken:
    Downside: no crispy skin.
Upside: no crispy skin. Now I'm not tempted to eat what I'm not allowed.

@ OC - I'm glad you had a nice visit with your family.
@ Rocky - I hope he brings home something good for lunch.
@ Poirot - I always keep the liquid imodium on hand. It tastes disgusting (like black licorice), but it works a lot faster than the pills.
@ rew - You are one sweet lady!!!
@ hjnewt - I'm so sorry about your little furry one. A lot of people don't understand how much they mean to us.

{SIGH} I wish we all lived closer together.

LOL.....Poirot, we were typing at the same time. Yep, I already called (actually texted) off work for tomorrow. The boss asked if she could stop at the store for me, and have her hubby (the big boss) shovel my snow. Told her that Jim and his girlfriend Cindy already did it all.

There is no way that I can work a 10 hour day. Tomorrow is our low cost eyeglasses clinic, and I have 12 appointments. My assistant is going to have to do it instead. I told her to call me if she has any problems.

Just wanted to pop in and say that I hope everyone has had a great weekend! It's been very windy & very cold here, so we've tried to minimize our excursions out to just church. Hope you get to feeling better soon, Poirot & RedSquirrel! Congrats on a wildly successful fundraiser, Rew! That was so thoughtful & generous of your group!
