LOL, Good mornin' ~ Snowed a bit overnight, doesn't look like much but who knows til we try and get out there...Dentist this afternoon for me, and not lookin forward cuz this one is gonna be using the drill....truly hate going.
Still dark, but we are to get up into upper 30s, so have no idea where all this strange weather is coming from. I know we are short on snow for sure, but.....2 more months...who knows???Rew, your tarzan makes me laugh. Last night, a commercial for Survivor had one guy saying his name was Tarzan and another complaining cuz his name was Troyzan, So he will have to get rid of the first guy. LOL

Good morning! I've got decaf coffee to put on the virtual breakfast bar this morning. My glasses have gotten scratched somehow right in the center of my left lens, so got to go in this morning to bite the bullet & get another pair. I only need them at work, but I don't want my vision to get worse if I don't wear them :( Rew, I hope you navigate your jungle without problems today. Poirot, I don't envy you at the dentist. My blood pressure goes up just getting a cleaning! Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning all. We're off to the big, bad city. Will get to 72* with wind gusts to 35 mph. Spring is upon us! Hope you all have a good day!

Good morning everyone. I'm back at work, but don't know how long I'll last. Just doing paperwork, referrals, etc.

@ rew - have a good day with the kids
@ Poirot - Good luck at the dentist. I'm quaking in fear, and I'm not even the one going. My detist gives me 2 valium to take the morning before my standard 1:00 pm appointment. Someone else has to take me, but then I really don't care what she does to my teeth.
@ NCRPh - I feel for you. I broke my month old glasses last week. Luckily, my Rx hadn't changed from last year so wearing my old ones.
@ tropical breeze - Happy Birthday to your hubby. What did Alex make??
@ OC - Be careful in the awful wind. We want you back in one piece.

I had posted this last night after I got settled in, but wanted you all to see it.
A humorous incident that, surprisingly enough did not happen at Wal-Mart.

I was driving along the front of a grocery store (Fry's - they are related to Kroger) headed to Wal-mart across the street.
This guy was walking out of the store to his car - in one hand carried high and proud was a bouquet of flowers, cradled in the other arm ?

a big o' bag of DOG FOOD! I had a good laugh at that and I couldn't help wondering if both items were for the same . . . . . well, you know what word I can't use for female dog. There was too much traffic or I'd have grabbed my phone and snapped a pic. It truly was priceless. The way he was holding/clutching the flowers reminded me of a little boy with a fresh picked bunch of flowers for his mum.

Rew - you reminded me of the theme song for the show "Monk" Randy Newman's "It's a Jungle Out There"
Barb - enjoy your mild weather today. Good luck at the dentist.
NCRPh - Hope all goes smoothly getting your glasses replaced. Oh, and, Congrats on your recent announcement!
TB - Happy Birthday to your Hubby. Hope all is well with you.
OCG - Safe travels today! Remember, it's a jungle out there!

    Have a wonderful day, Everyone!
    BE SAFE!

LOL, well, at the dentist, good new and bad news. He was gonna work on a couple of teeth, but decided to tackle the one where the filling fell out a couple months ago. Yep, got my shot of novacaine. Interestingly, his asst. is shooting cold water on the drill as it drills so you don't HEAR it, and sucks out excess, too. However, there was a cavity on the other side of the tooth, and went under the gum line, and it began bleeding, so he had to "cauterize" it with a laser. Got to tell you it made me soooooo nervous. And then he says don't chew on it today, make sure I keep it clean (?)

Interestingly enough, did not make any arrangements for me to return, tho I have a couple other small ones, but also near the gum line. Tricky stuff, I am thinking. Tooth feels wierd, not sure if it got buffed or polished off enough. Well.....at least it is over. Probably will have to return for some "adjustment" or other.
It was not bad, but I truly hate going, was very nervous.

Myst, dog food and a flower bouquet in each hand would have made a funny picture! We can only hope the guy was taking care of both the loves of his life and not just one.

Squirrel, I hope you made it through your day of work okay.

Barb, that tooth must have been a mess. And anything that goes under the gum line sounds pretty awful to me, especially in the same sentence with "cauterize."

We made our trip okay and while the wind was blowing, it wasn't as bad as I expected. We got there 40 minutes early and they went ahead and saw my husband right away so we were glad to be able to get out of the city before rush hour started. We ate at a Chili's on the way down there--out in a less populated area. It is too nerve-wracking for us to try to look for places from the interstates and it seems we've always passed the exit by the time we see a restaurant of interest to us.

Oh Rew, I guess I made it sound like he had an emergency but it was just a checkup. Thanks for asking. He had both hips replaced a few years ago and had gotten past the need for regular checkups--until the Depuy replacement lawsuits became news. Now they want him to have periodic blood tests for heavy metals, and also x-rays on the hips. He got a good report today. We usually get out of those appointments right at rush hour, then have to face the low sun all the way home, so I was happy we got out early and avoided all that.

A late-night check-in for me. We had the electricity off to part of our house most of the day so Hubby could do some electrical fixes. And of course the breaker that had to be off ran our computer and our wireless router, among a few other things. So this is my first chance to get online all day. I've been getting a bit twitchy without it. Ha! Now to catch up on everyone's posts.
