Good Morning all.

I'd really like some cinnamon sugar toast. However, I'll stick with my protein shake. I'm getting closer to my goal that I'm not going to give in to something so senseless.

Our big show is this weekend. Alas, my trees are not ready. As y'all know, you can't force Mother Nature and my trees don't have leaves yet. So, no show for them. In a month they will be beautiful and I'll be the only one to notice. It works for me.

I hope everyone has a good Thursday.

Good Morning,

Robin, sometimes it a nice treat to have our secret haven of beauty. Enjoy your trees when the leaves open.

Had a mostly quiet evening last night. Choir practice was cancelled for the church theater troupe to have their final dress rehearsal. So Gena and I snuggled down to watch NCIS and read some Mo Willems books. Yes, my 7 year old loves NCIS. She thinks Gibbs is the best, and wants to be like Abby when she grows up. I told her I'd love for her to grow up to be a smart independent Forensic Scientist like Abby.

Today will be more of the same. Still crazy behind at work, so we're working our fingers to the bone to catch up.

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Good morning.......oh, wow, I absolutely L O V E:love: cinnamon sugar toast! Robin, they just had a Golden Girls rerun where Blanche was sticking to a diet, eating low cal & protein shakes, Rose ate her tuna pie, thought it rather fishy, then downed the protein shake to get the taste out. Blanche went bonkers. LOL (she wanted to fit into her very red wedding dress on her anniv. as she took a pic every year in it. LOL Sorry, but the "protein" shake just brought it all to mind. Stay strong, girl.

Mandy did you have NCIS on tape or something. I know it was on Tues. nite. Love that show, tho I miss DiNozo, and his references to movies. That was always a kick.

Back to Brrrrr weather here, tho the sun is trying to stay out. Note I said "trying". LOL

Poirot - I record NCIS, Bull, and NCIS New Orleans every week. Between activities, homework, grandkids, chatty husband and everything else going on, I rarely get to watch any TV live. I really like all 3, but I know I don't have 3 hours straight to watch TV on a weeknight. I can shorten the time a bit by fast-forwarding through commercials, and usually catch up on Saturday mornings when everyone else sleeps until 9 or 10 and I still wake up at 5 like clockwork. :)

Last night, I watched Designated Survivor, which has hooked me...new series

But it was later, I happened upon a documentary featuring all the intercom chatter between airports on 9/11. They lose contact with a plane, don't know what happened. They showed at the start, the casual news commentary on ABC, when suddenly they get word of an "explosion at the World Trade Center". You can see and hear the difficulty these airports and the government had in not knowing what was happening, what happened to the planes.

When the 2nd plane went into the tower, and it was realized it was deliberate, and a 3rd plane was not answering, but was located turning towards DC, the White House (that was the Pentagon). There were calls from flight attendants, reporting throat slashing, and then the terrorists aboard Flight 93. The decisions to order all planes in the air to land, and no more to take off. The panic in trying to get our fighter jets up in the air, not knowing where the hi-jacked planes were, and how many planes were hi-jacked.

Designated Survivor is about an attack on Congress, in which all government officials, President, Vice P., Speaker of House, Senators, House Reps, etc are all killed, leaving this very minor government fellow becoming President....and the conspirators who want to take over the country, so are still trying to make it fail.

Thus, I could not help when I saw the documentary, to want to tune in.

I have been really sick with the flu. It was a bad one! Now my IBS is really going strong. Trying everything to get it calmed down but nothing working so far!

Funny how all the specialists I have been to just say you have lots of built up gas, find something over the counter to help and leave me hanging. I have spent thousands on tests and that's what they come up with. About the only thing to calm it is some tea. Anyone know of anything I should try?

Oh Shan, sorry you're not feeling well. Sadly I can't help.

Poirot - that does sound like an interesting show, and I bet the documentary was very interesting.

Poirot, "Designated Survivor"sounds like a good series. I wonder if Tom Clancy has a piece of it; the plot so far sounds like his book "Executive Orders." Kiefer Sutherland is a plus!

It's a sunny day and it got to the 70s. I washed rags as soon as I got home.
I hope they dry before it gets dark. After lunch, I mowed.

Shan, sorry you were sick. I hope you feel better soon.

manda, I saw NCIS at lunch time. An interesting one. Was McGee lying or
just not admitting things?

robin, I'm sorry your trees aren't ready for the big show.

I hope everyone has a nice evening.

Kat - I felt like McGee was trying to protect her from the scary details. At least until he could tell her about it in person, I don't feel like that sort of information should be shared over the phone. But that's me, I'm sure others would feel different.

I thought it was interesting he never told her how Tony got the place cheap.
I know telling people things over the phone not a good idea. Neither by
email. He finally had to tell her something since it got on the news.

@AGuy......as far as I can tell, no, Clancy doesn't have a piece of the action. The show debuted last Sept., got an immediate 22 week, order for this year, and has been renewed for next year. It was off for 3 mos. and just returned yesterday. Should probably be talking about this in the "Other TV" forum, but honestly, it is so good. Those of you who get Netflix or Hulu, I hope it is available there already.

Initial premise is.....During the State of the Union address, there is an explosion, killing all those present. This is how everyone died, leaving the Cabinet member, Sec. of Housing & Urban Development as the only remaining gov't official, thus he gets the job of being President. Keifer is absolutely fabulous in the role. Gripping episodes. And now, am off my praising soapbox. LOL

Finally made it to Wal-Mart but didn't get anything done at home. I called ahead to the pharmacy and found out they didn't have either one of my husband's prescriptions but I needed some groceries so went anyway. I'm a little exasperated with them because both these prescriptions needed them to get renewal from the doctors (2 different doctors). I realize that takes extra time, but I had "called them in" (really it's the online thing) early enough. One I did on Feb.28 and the other one was the first of this week. This kind of thing has happened before. I don't know if Wal-Mart Pharmacy is dropping the ball or if the doctors' offices don't respond. Anyway, the WalMart lady said she would take care of it.

Squirrel, I hope your weather has calmed down from last night. Wow, those winds were terrible!

Hi everyone. 4 to 5 inches of snow coming between tonight and tomorrow morning. Geez, my basement pumps are still going from all of the rain we got.

No damage at my house from the wind storm yesterday and last night, but my "Little Sis" had 3 huge trees come down......one wiped out her deck, one came through the roof in the front of the house into the master bedroom, and the last one came through the roof in the back of the house into her youngest son's room. The son is at college, and Sis had made her hubby sleep in the family room so they're ok. The tree wiped out their bed.

I love Tom Clancy books. In fact I have read 2 many times that I have in hard back copies. Debt of Honor is the one with Jack Ryan becoming President after a plane crashed into the Capital building during a joint session of congress killing the President, cabinet, most of the supreme court, etc. The next book in the series is Executive Orders where he tries to put together a new government while some slimy people try to take over.
Hmmm....Sound familiar ?

OK, time for me to go to bed after a craptacular day. It was a day from H-E-Double-Hockey -Sticks. Then I came out to leave work to find that my car was hit. Over $1000 damage before being checked underneath.

Heya Everybody! :) I hope that everyone is having a fantastic day. Today has been an okay but really busy day. I went to work, came home and had dinner. Dinner tonight was broccoli with melted cheese, chicken and rice. After dinner I rushed around the house to get things I needed done. I ended up finishing everything pretty quickly but I just wanted to get everything done so I could kick up my feet and relax. I am doing that right now and am waiting for the weekend. I was ready for the weekend on Monday.

The weather has been very cold here today. Right now it is mostly cloudy and 39 F here. It is supposed to get really cold here this weekend, winter is back with a vengeance. I just want to put all my winter things away now and lock the closet for another winter season.

Wishing all of you a terrific Thursday evening. Sending each one of you so much love.

@Noel.....It is too sad to hear that today was a sad one for you at work. I only can say that I bless those who work there, having had both Julian & Colton saved by the great care received in the ICU when they were born.

rs. sorry to hear about your car and your "Lil Sis" house.

Noel, sorry to hear about your day. I hope you sleep well tonight.

@Poirot, redsquirrel, you guys have hooked me re "Designated Survivor!" Watched a few of last season's episodes on Comcast's "On Demand" Very addictive. Some weekend work was left undone.

One of the Jack Ryan books ("Patriot Games" ?,) used quite a bit of print upon the character development (?) of the family Labrador retriever. I had expected that the dog would play some part in the plot, to no avail. It was a minor puzzlement about which I thought about asking Tom Clancy. :)
