    Good morning everyone!

The temperatures went from around 90 yesterday to barely hitting 80 today. Right now it's dark and raining out there. Strange weather.

While it is dark and rainy, have to admit that I like the sound of the gentle rain. It's very relaxing. Probably not a good idea to be that relaxed while working, though. :)

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning and same here, dark, overcast, rained off and on yesterday, we did not even reach 70, rain forecast today, temp in 70s. Don't mind gentle rains. Get amazed at determined fishermen who just do not "come in out of the rain". When I came home yesterday, I see this boat, in the middle of the bay next to our mailbox, just hunkered down in the boat, not about to move. Did not see any more out in front here, but boy, the minute it stopped, bingo, not worried about it coming again. Ha.

Have a couple appts and errands this a.m. so going to be rushing around today.

I wish I had an awning, so I could sit out in the rain. Or, barring that, a convertible. :drunk:

Company is gone. Going to try having a quiet day.

I think it's safe to say that the horrendous cold/flu is departing; it's been over 3 weeks. Thank you for your support, my friends!

Got a Father's Day gift card for a nice local restaurant, kind of a Coney Island. Will probably try it, next week.

Our temperatures are lower; here's hoping the cool-down will include Arizona, and Texas! :drunk:

    Be safe, everyone!

    Morning Everyone,

Cooler morning here. No idea of the actual temperature, and quite frankly I'm too tired to care. I'm still trying to recover from being up so late Friday for the concert, which was phenomenal. I think I got 6 hours of sleep that night, and then had to drive home (4 hours), only to find out hubby invited all the kids over for a BBQ. So I then had to shop and prep for that.

I was so tired I slept through church yesterday, then had to rush around to get the house ready to have everyone over. The boys built our new grill which I then got to cook on. I made 12 brats, 12 burgers and 10 hot dogs. We had 4 burgers, 6 brats, and 4 hot dogs left over. Guess what we're having for dinner tonight.
    :rotfl:

Tonight Gena and I will walk to the library for our weekly check-in and book exchange.

JS & Poirot - enjoy the cooler weather.

AGuy - glad to hear that you're finally feeling better.

Now to catch up on the board.

    Have a great day everyone!

    Good morning y'all,

Today is humid and supposed to hit the upper 80sF. It's kind of sunny now but I see dark clouds approaching--they say thunderstorms this afternoon. Today I'll be doing some more last-minute science stuff and then packing for my flight tomorrow to New Orleans, where I'll be tomorrow night and on Wednesday as well.

I'm glad some of you are getting that much needed cool-down in weather! Hope it extends soon to Arizona and Texas. Noel and Robins, my grandma (who lives in San Bernardino, CA), said they have been getting extreme heat as well. I wonder if its part of the same heatwave affecting the Phoenix area.

    A.Guy, glad you feel better!

    Have a good one!

Woohoo it will be 118 today. On our way to 120 or more!!!!!! :drunk:

As I have no control over the weather, and those numbers are insane, might as well celebrate them. Right? Complaining won't make it any better. Lots of water drinking planned for the day.

Manda - I am so glad the concert was good and you had fun.

A.Guy - congrats on surviving the crud, and guests.

Off to enjoy the warm morning.

Manda, BBQ leftovers aren't too shabby! Will give you a chance to rest, a little. Cut-up hot dogs/beans work for me. :)

JS: nice to have a more moderate temperature than 90F. I love the sound of rain, it is easy to doze off peacefully or read a book to its rhythm. Enjoy.

Poirot: you must live in the most unpredictable weather area of the midwest. Sure hope that determined fisherman yesterday at least caught his dinner.

AGuy: Kudos on finally reaching the healing phase of that cold/flu bug! And having a gift card is a nice way to celebrate after you rest today. I so admire you hosting company when feeling ill. My favorite leftover grilled food is veggies!

Manda: sometimes being tired, after a rockin fun time, is worth it and I hope it was for you. Coming home and learning you need to clean & cook is at the least surprising. Sounds like you were a great hostess under fatigue and pressure. And left over grilled foods - yum! Enjoy your walk with Gena tonight.

Days: you must be so excited to finally be packing up for your trip tomorrow. Sorry your grandma is living where this high pressure ridge is breaking records for this heat. It looks to be in Phoenix for at least 10 more days but hope Bakersfield gets a cool down soon.

Robin: my kitchen is filled with water bottles! Yesterday alone I drank 8 propel bottles. I should float soon. At least you have the pool tonight - yay! Hope your Monday is a smooth one. We need sunscreen just to check the mail each day here! [wink]

Everyone hope you have a relaxing and productive Monday.

Noel - the concert was so worth every minute of exhaustion. It was so fun to hang out with my sister and just be me instead of mom. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. My sister was super gracious too. Paid for dinner, parking at the concert, and for me to park in the parking ramp. That's $30 just for parking, which is insane, But she said it would cost twice that for a cab to and from the concert, so it was cheaper in the long run. I'm still in 7th heaven. The concert was soooooo good. Boyz II Men was super, New Kids were even better. I giggled and squealed like a star struck teenager.

Manda, that is wonderful. I always think of one of Shania Twain's songs about girls having a night out on the town to have fun, rejuvenate and relax. Your night was obviously a true sister memory keeper!:)

JS - glad to know I'm not alone. My sister thought it was funny, but she was proud of me for not crying. Mind you this is my little sister, but she's been to far more concerts that I have.

Hi everybody. Trying to dry out here before the next wave of rain hits.

We had over 4 inches of it yesterday and last night. My new super duper pump couldn't handle the constant onslaught, and the motor burned up. I was getting up every 45 minutes to run the other pump. All in all, my house and property are ok. Others here aren't so lucky.

Amanda - I'm glad you had a wonderful time with your sister at the concert.

Red: what a bummer your pump failed. Glad damage was prevented due to your diligence, despite a sleep-deprived state. Hope it dries out very soon.

I still love Robin's description of the difference between "dry heat" and "heat/humidity", with dry heat being like opening a hot oven, while heat/humidity is like opening the dishwasher after a cycle.

We had such a fast weekend. Graduation Saturday morning for my daughter. Then dance recital for my granddaughter. So much sitting! Then yesterday my daughter had a barbecue for our anniversary. I was exhausted and probably did way too much then I should've.

RS - so sorry about your motor burning up. Hopefully it's under warranty.

Noel and Robin - stay cool, lots of water.

Manda - so glad you had a great time at the concert!

We're supposed to have fairly good weather this week. Just lots of wind

    Shan
