Good morning everyone. It was 50* when I came to work this morning, and the temp inside my house was down to 64*. No way was I turning the furnace on when it is supposed to be near 80* today.

I'm off to very rural parts of my southern county. I have 2 senior living centers today. I hate doing places back to back when they're hard to get to.

I hope you all have a nice day.

Good morning......Stormy weather here, gonna be nasty, so they say. thunderstorms, lightning, you know, all that good stuff. LOL I really have to run to town, as did not get to go yesterday, and I just know with MY luck, I am gonna run right into bad stuff. Radio says it already hit the twin cities up to Canada, and down past Iowa, and moving easterly. Yuk.

Morning Everyone,

It's not quite as cool today as it has been, but the storms that are scheduled to hit Poirot will make a stop here starting around 10 this morning and last most of the day.

Gena decided that we needed to keep 2 of last weeks books (one of which is Charlotte's Web, so I had planned to keep it so we can finish it). We returned the others and came home with another 7. But I suppose since we'll be going on a road trip to Iowa with my mom and step-dad starting Sunday and getting home late Monday or maybe Tuesday, we'll need stuff to do in the car.

I also have 2 books that I can work on in the car, to make the drive seem shorter. We'll be visiting the Circus World Museum in Baraboo and then on to see the Quilts of Valor exhibit and some motorcycle museum both in Iowa.

Have a wonderful day!

Good morning, everyone. Rain in the east usually means it will come our way soon but hopefully not until after Canada Day Long Weekend!! We are heading out camping right after work on Thursday for 4 nights. Can't think of a better way to celebrate Canada's 150th. Our spring in Calgary has been really good, which isn't normal for this area. Usually we have winter, ONE day of spring then BAM......summer hits. The last few days have been 26*C (78.8*F) and above.

Manda - LOVED Charlotte's Web as a kid!!

Have a good hump day and rest of the week.

Good morning everyone,

Clear skies today, and to be 80F. We also had a cool night in the 50sF. I hope it got rid of some of the mosquitoes. I will say it feels refreshing after the Southern heat. Just got back from my trip yesterday. It was amazing seeing old friends and making some new ones. The first two days (including arrival) were in New Orleans.

I just kind of went to my old favorite places, visited with a friend who wasn't able to come on the trip (for work reasons), and all that. Weather wasn't that bad those days because of that tropical depression. We went to Destin, but there were rip tides (and dark water) on the Gulf side, and it was really windy and drizzly on the drive there. Luckily the next few days, we were greeted by sun and heat. The second day there (after arrival) we did a snorkeling & dolphin viewing boat--all on the Intercoastal side, where the water was calm, safe, and emerald.

I couldn't believe how white the sand was! We saw quite a few fish and some hermit crabs, even though visibility wasn't as good. The next day we did Crab Island (and later, the Destin Commons), which was really fun! And back in New Orleans for the last two days, just kind of relaxed (and of course, there was bar hopping, lol). I forgot how much I miss the South.

Hope all of you had a good few days.

Good afternoon to all. If I had started this thread, it would have been entitled, "Donuts and Ahhh." We're getting the kind of weather that Salemites seem to get almost year-round. If Jenny were here, she'd be happily parading around in one of her sleeveless dresses and Eric might even smile because it's a perfect day -- temps in the high 70s with low humidity, which is a pleasant break from the heat and humidity that's so typical of New York area summer weather. (On such days, our weather hyenas love to bray about the heat index.)

So, yes, it is raining. lightly, heavily, so far no thunder, etc. So I dashed into town to take care of a couple things.....and could not find a parking place anywhere! When it rains, the area tourist all "go to town" , figuring it is a good day. I forgot about that, usually I don't go out when it was raining, but I had already put off going Mon., & tues. As it was, forgot to do a couple things. Grrrr. I just wanted to get out of there quick, and coming home, man, stream of cars still going to town. Wow.

rains seem to stop for 5 or 10 minutes, but it is deceiving, as it seems it still slightly drizzles or mists or something. We have flash flood warnings out, as well.

Home from ophthalmologist visit and can barely see post exam due to eye drops. I have cataracts beginning, but thankfully no diabetic retinopathy or glaucoma. So next I need a specialist appointment to determine if I need cataract surgery. Hope everyone's evening goes well.

A quick hello this evening. Sorry to be so late. I had to go to town today--drug store, bank, post office grocery store, then picked up Subway flatbread steak/cheese sandwiches to bring home for our lunch. I went to the closer (25 miles), smaller town so I could go alone and get off quickly and not be gone so long. We're having regular summer weather, only not as hot as usual, for now. Only in the low 90s*
