EPISODE # 9528
Tape date – Various
Director – Michael Balin (another new director!)*****

Chalk one up for the Three Musketeers, as Jack is amazed at the plan cooked by Bo, Hope & Jen, while Tony rereads Stefano’s diary hoping to find some answers, and Brandon’s flashback clues us into the reasons for his recent behavior.

DIMANSION
Tony is sitting, sipping a cognac, and reading what appears to be Stefano’s diary. He shakes his head every once in a while, and as he reads, we see, on the right side of the screen, a jumbled montage of the various bequests given out at the reading of Stefano’s will. He nods as we see Grampa Shawn receiving the boat with the child on it, followed by John holding the chess set with the missing queen. We see Marlena with the Gemini pillow on her lap (remember when it pricked her finger…wonder if that accounts for her personality change?) coupled with Kate & the jar of kippers, & Celeste’s paper dolls. Tony closes his eyes and evidently falls asleep, (O.K. John, good time to sneak in again) as we see Tony dreaming (in black & white – the images swirl around) of Grampa Shawn standing with one arm around John, and both have arms outstretched to Tony, then Kate is sitting with a man (his back to camera, but phoenix ring on his finger) and ordering kippers from a veddy British waiter, while Celeste is singing Rock a Bye Baby to the paper dolls, and a blindfolded Hope tries to find her way out of a maze. As the replica of the mansion comes into view, Tony awakens, startled by the sound of a loud crash. He yells for Eliana, and goes to the door of the next room, where a horrified Eliana is looking down at the carpet, and Bart, seeing his boss, is babbling something about Stefano always having been rather slippery (rotfl). It seems Eliana was cleaning the top of the mantel, and helpful Bart lifted “THE URN” to help her, dropped it…..and ashes, ashes everywhere. (Sorry, folks, I am laughing so hard at Bart, just the ‘idea’ of the situation….rotfl) Well, as the Raven says in that poem……Nevermore.! Stefano…So long, it’s been good to know ya.

THE HOSPITAL
Lexie is chatting with Dr. Bader as they leave her office, and asks when she will be getting the results of her latest lab tests. Dr. Bader assures her that she will call her as soon as they come back from the East Side Lab. Brandon is chatting with Eugenia, but looks startled when he overhears their conversation. As they walk away, he stares at the door to the hospital lab and then flashes back (in black & white) to himself, alone in the hospital lab, looking thru the samples to be tested, taking one marked Abraham Carver, replacing it with another sample he brought in with him, also labeled Abraham Carver, then hurrying out (OMG! That explains his weird behavior of late). Back in the present, Brandon abruptly leaves Eugenia, follows Lexie, asking how her dr. visit went. Lexie is visibly angry, as she says she is fine, and warns Brandon that if he does not stop harassing her she will get a restraining order. He wonders why she is getting further lab tests, but Lexie says all is well, and she is just confirming it via an independent lab, being Salem’s lab hasn’t been exactly 100% reliable in the past. (Good one, Lexie!) but that it really is none of his business. She spots Sami talking to an intern, and tells Brandon he would be wise to keep his eyes on his roommate, or he may find himself living alone again. She walks away, as Brandon glances towards Sami, who takes her cue and joins him. Sami’s hug is rebuffed and Brandon claims to have a patient to see, as he takes off. You can practically see the smoke rising, as Sami smolders. Eugenia (who saw it all) tells Sami….and if you don’t like that, just wait til you see how he treats you after he learns how you changed those lab results.

TUSCANY
Jack arrives, ready to compare notes with Bo, Hope and Jen…only to be greeted by a smiling Maggie, who is joined by Bo, grinning from ear to ear. He grabs a puzzled Jack by the arm, taking him into the men’s room. Tuscany is all decked out, with pink roses everywhere, a white, arched trellis at one end of the room, with white roses entwined throughout. It looks beautiful. Ah, the plot unfolds. ( LOL, you are truly gonna love this) On the far side of the room are white linen covered tables, each with centerpieces of pink roses. Rows of chairs line the aisle to the archway and are decorated with more roses and bows. As soft music plays, the camera leads us to inside the doorway, where a picture of Jack & Jennifer sits on a stand, with beautifully scripted text saying “Welcome to the wedding of Jennifer Horton and Jack Deveraux”.

Maggie, Hope, Abby, Alice & Julie are bustling to and fro with last minute touches, as Jennifer thanks them for all their help. She is the happiest we have seen her in ages. Now that she realized she & Jack belong together, she didn’t want to wait another day to make it happen. She knew if anyone in the world could pull off such a beautiful wedding on such short notice, it would be these special women. (ain’t that the truth?) Maggie assures her that everything at Tuscany, including the flowers and food is ready, and it’s a wedding gift from her & Mickey. Julie pops up that she got a fantastic seamstress she works with to finish the alterations on the gowns, and they are waiting in the other room. Hope smiles as she says that Bo took care of the tuxes, and then Alice, bless her heart, hands Jen a jewelry box. Jen just stares as Alice urges her to open it. She does to find a beautiful pearl necklace, a family heirloom. Both have tears in their eyes as Hope helps her put it on, and Jen hugs her grandmother. Maggie shoos them back to get ready as we hear sounds of guests arriving.

Later we find the Hortons, Bradys, Blacks, Williams, Vern & Jo, Harold, Kate, Lucas, even Victor & Nicole have all arrived. Bo & Jack come out, looking so handsome in their tuxedos. (love the expression on Jack’s face as he looks around with no clue). For once, Jack is at a loss for words, as Bo hands him a note from Jen, saying she just could not wait another day to be his wife. Meet her at the altar in 10 minutes. Jack immediately begins the what, huh, how….(typical reporter, ha, ha). Bo chuckles as he leads Jack to the archway, the music begins, and Abby (oh, she looks soooooo adorable!) walks up the aisle strewing rose petals from the basket she is carrying. Jack is practically bursting his buttons here. Hope, looking so gorgeous in pink, follows Abby. Next comes the beautiful, radiant bride (love her gown!) on the arm of Uncle Mickey. (O.K. folks, get out the tissues ) As Jennifer takes Jack’s hand in hers, she whispers, “You told me to take care of it all…..I did”. With their family and friends all around them, Jack & Jen are married once more. They kiss, and Mr. & Mrs. Deveraux turn…..to a sea of smiling faces. But the happiest seems to be Abby, who cannot contain herself. The reception follows, and we have quick camera flashes of the cake cutting (yep, both wear cake on their faces), bouquet throwing (Abby catches it, lol) and Bo raising a toast to the newlyweds. Jack is still dumbstruck at his good fortune, but Hope tells him, it is not over yet. The music begins, as Jack & Jennifer dance (I swear it is Michael Buble singing – to the song “The Way You Look Tonight”). Everyone is laughing, and hugging, as Jack and Jen leave amidst a shower of rose petals (that is just toooo cool) to a waiting limo, ready to whisk them off on their honeymoon. Jack & Jen get in, and as they are kissing, the limo driver adjusts his cap, pulling it further down on his face. He looks into the rear view mirror, with a satisfied smile….and we see…he is wearing a patch! (oh, be still my heart!!!) Bo & Hope, on the sidewalk, congratulate each other on pulling off this surprise, as the limo pulls away, with the usual attached tin cans rattling and, naturally, the big white sign on the back, which says……APRIL FOOL from the Early Edition!
