A new day in Salem. Nicole meets up with a waiting Brady in the square. He tries to convince her to move into the K mansion, safer for her. She tells him of Xander calling her, but assures him Deimos has body guards with her at all times. She wants to go visit Theresa, so Brady goes with her to the Kmansion.

Eve is with Theresa, trying to get her to come to New York where she will be safer than here. Nope, Theresa declines, talks about how she has been neglecting her business, losing investors, and wants to stay with Brady.

Kate is on the phone with Billie, who is urging her to leave, she won't of course, also has guards, hears a noise, gets scared for a second, tis Andre. She hangs up on Billie, scolds Andre for scaring her. They go back and forth about why she won't go stay where her sons are, she complains that Lucas is with Adrienne, who she can't stand, Philip with Chloe, can't abide her either. Andre chides her for not approving of the women her sons choose, perhaps should just tell them she loves them so much, wants the best for them (or some such baloney). They kibbitz a bit, and then Kate is on the phone with Charley, hangs up, tells Andre she just convinced the guy to pull all his investment money from DJ Wear, so one less competitor for DiMera Enterprises.

Deimos gets Justin to do something he doesn't want to do, but...since it is "family", he evidently agrees. chloe & Philp are at her doctor's appt. in another town, talking of the baby, remembering prom (Last Blast dance??) her red dress. Phil is happy to have Parker in his life again, and will be a father to Chloe's baby for the rest of his life.

At the Kmansion, Nicole has visited with Theresa, is once again urged by Eve to come to NY and stay with her. Brady & Theresa are together, he gets the word about Charley pulling out his money, so Theresa has lost them all. Brady will restructure, still has money in. No, Theresa decides to shut the company down, only cares about marrying him, being a family with Tate, and thinks he would be happier in Titan.

Deimos comes out, was looking for Chloe, Theresa mentions she & Philip left a while ago, no idea where they went. Deimos rushes out.

And at her doctor's office, in walks Deimos & Justin with a court order for a paternity test. Philip tries bluffing, Deimos stands firm, wants it now. Doctor Wright comes in. is not at all happy about this, orders Deimos & Justin into waiting room.

Later, Phil & Chloe show up at Kate's, wanting her help, telling her what Deimos did, that she raised a lot of money for Dr. Wright's clinic, she can persuade him to fix things. Nope, he is too ethical. Well, what about the lab. Kate thinks for a bit, but, as much as she hates Deimos, it would mean shackling Philip to Chloe's whelp, and she could not stand being a grandmother to the kid. They leave, go back to Chloe's room, debating what to do.

Deimos is at the Pub with Nicole, tells her of going to Chloe's dr. appt., everything went great, then he spots Kate picking up some takeout. He asks Nik to "go powder her nose" for a few minutes, he wants to talk to Kate. She leaves, Deimos goes to the bar, he and Kate cross swords, more or less. She warns him she has all the info on his Black Magic thing, and will use it. He reminds her that then everyone will learn she is the one who kidnapped Tate. She flounces out, Nicole returns, asking how the talk went. Great, he replies. Now she asks about Chloe & the appt. and he admits about getting the court order for the paternity test. Will have the results later today.

Justin bumps into the departing Eve, is sorry they did not have a chance to at least have a drink together. Eve figures she will be back again when Brady & Theresa do get married, maybe then. He appears to feel that they might have had something, but Eve thinks he is still in love with his ex-wife. Justin notes she is marrying Lucas Horton, but Eve doubts that will happen. She is leaving for the airport, Justin offers to drive her, safer, as a big guard will follow them all the way. LOL

In her room, Chloe & Philip argue, he wants to go break into the lab, change results or something. She says he can't do that in broad daylight, soon Deimos will know the truth. Philip gets a call, tis Mommy Dearest. "About that conversation we had earlier...I have changed my mind. I look forward to becoming a grandmother again.
 
I only was able to watch the first few minutes. I'll catch the rest on the DVR later tonight. But is the power still off?? And all these people have functioning cell phones?? I want their battery life. And if the power is still off, how does the courthouse print out a court order? Or a OB/GYN conduct an exam? Or is the power on in those parts of town??

Or am I just to forget these things and file it with the Salem Money tree.
 
The OB-GYN is in another town.........Phil told Deimos Chloe has a high risk pregnancy so went to a specialist in that town (no idea bout that).

However the court order.....well, maybe they have forms already made up, and just print the names/order in by hand. Then the judge signs, or uses a stamp.

But yes, they are all still without power. But......guess some have generators perhaps??
 
Around and around we go, yet AGAIN.

I, for one, am already sick (and tired) of this Chloe paternity storyline. Give us all a break, writers. Move on, people, move on!

I did enjoy a good laugh yesterday with Chad stripped down to his undies, just in time for JJ to find them!

But wait!! Isn't it correct that Chloe and Philip didn't actually "hook up" recently enough for her to be this early in her pregnancy?
 
I agree---this was a bland episode. Actually, the scenes with Eve (particularly her scenes with Justin) were great! I'm gonna miss her--and if you'd told me I'd feel that way a year ago, I would've been cracking up! But seriously now, I love Eve and would trade Hope for her in a heartbeat!

Chloe & Philip is so bland. We've done this storyline a million times. It never ends well. I feel bad for Nicole being stuck in the middle.
 
I'm enjoying the relationship between Eve, Jeannie T and Nicole, too. It's a shame Eve's going back to New York.

It's really too bad Eve couldn't have been written this way from the beginning. It would've been nice to have seen her, Paige and Jeannie T. functioning as a loving family unit.
 
WHY is Eve going back to New York? I miss her. And I liked her & Justin.

Colour me confused...I actually like Kate and André's banter. Wow.

Lots of funny lines today, but not so much to keep the interest up. Kind of a slow Friday episode.

Not that I need an explosion or talking dinosaur every five minutes, but we've got 3 escaped killers on the loose and we're watching Nicole eat a BLT and Deimos/Philip/Justin/Chloe at an off-site OB clinic?

I also liked that Kate was speaking with Billie on the phone. Nice recap. They need more smart recaps like this.

And, on a scale of 1 to 10 (8 being the DA PLOT norm), just how implausible is this court order Deimos had, and how did he prove he and Chloe had sexual contact when the pregnancy was conceived? And when was this pregnancy conceived, anyway?

I like Philip's haircut. I have partially long hair and I wish mine looked like his. Do you think I could pay Days' stylist to do my hair once a month or so? LOL
 
I loved Philip and his jokes.

He said Salem was the Paternity Test Switching Capital of the world. He even told Chloe
they could have Caroline fix the computer results.

I was disappointed the villains weren't on today.

Will Maggie be upset DJ Wear is gone?

I hope we see Eve again. I like her and Justin together.
 
Forgot to mention...since when did Jeannie T have other investors? Did we miss this plot point, or was it made up for today's episode?

I liked how they talked both seriously and jokingly about their past. I really like Philip and Chloe.
 
Never heard of any other investors besides Brady, but if they went public with stock....perhaps that was it?

Personally, I don't see how anyone would spend a lot of $$$ buying stock in a startup company with no office, no ads, no income coming in from any sales, 2 of the 3 partners having left. Perhaps, back when she was involved, Kate talked some people she knew into buying stock, maybe Nicole did, too. (No, we never ever heard a word, so I think this is something they just invented in order to shut down DJ wear) And, in my opinion, was not a good idea in the first place.
 
It was a decent episode. Again mostly a lot of filler, even the last bit with Kate agreeing to help was yawn worthy to end a week off with. I'm on board with everyone I will miss Eve and hope her and Justin become reunited again.

I did like Philip and Chloe talking about the past. About all the shenanigans at Salem High with Chloe being called "ghoul girl" to Parker's paternity scandal. It's nice to see Philip's reaction about Parker since he has been on-screen.

Thought it was also interesting Philip remembered Chloe's red dress when she took off her ghoul girl cape to show off her new look in high school. That was probably my favorite Chloe moment ever!

The obtuse attitude of many Salemites to the fact that crazed killers who have a grudge against them are on the loose. Some just don't seem to have signed on to the concept of "better Deimos's and the K-mansion than dead." This especially applies to Nicole who cited loyalty to the memory of Dr. McScruffy as a reason for not going there. Really? Will the orange-tinted ghost of the lecherous super-surgeon magically appear to save her from the wrath of Xander?

If she's true to form the disappearance of this monument to the Love Doctor will be rated as a bigger tragedy than her paralysis or the unseemly revelations about her beloved long-lost daughter, Summer the psycho mermaid. And if DJ-Wear tanks, what about poor Anne who gave up her hospital job to join this shaky start-up? She surely won't be happy especially because if she'd stuck with the hospital by now she wouldn't have to tolerate the presence of no-show Jenny, Super Jonas, and Ms. Perfect.

This was yet another example of looking at the past with rose-tinted glasses. When Gabi was rhapsodizing about high school days with Chad, she never mentioned him getting the hapless Mia pregnant. And now when Choe was recalling glory days at good-old Salem High, she never mentioned that the Philip of yesteryear had a different face and didn't have a magically regrown leg.
