Hey, John is back, is at the hospital to see Daniel, wanting some info about Sonnry to help Marlena. Daniel can't say anything other than he is stable, which Marlena already knows. But, Daniel first had assumed that John was there about Brady and Melanie dating, but John knew nothing, and Daniel advises to go talk to Brady.
He does, thinks it is all great, likes Mel. Brady talks about the fun person Melanie is, and also tells John about the adoption paper that arrived, how he thought he had eradicated all things about Kristen, then this arrives. He thanks heaven that it never materialized, that a child wasn't brought into all this mess. John notes, no, it wasn't, and now he has Melanie. Brady crumples the paper to toss it.

Earlier, in the square, Theresa had accosted Brady, reading him a riot act about what a terrible father he would have made, blah, blah. He tells her this is a public place, and if she doesn't tone it down, he could have proof enough to put a restraining order on her. The new boyfriend gets brought up, she mentions he went to get her a drink. However, Clint is on the phone with Mandrake, assuring him that Theresa remembers nothing, and mentioning how when something unpleasant occurs, she get very, very angry. Yes, he knows what he has to do now, is hoping Ms. DiMera will be happy with his work.
He returns to Theresa with a drink, she shows off how considerate Clint is, to Brady, who leaves. Theresa suggests she & Clint go somewhere private. She was reading his mind.
Over to her apartment, for a romp between the sheets, she thinks that was so much fun, but Clint is getting dressed, looking for his shoes, has to leave. Actually, he is leaving town. She panics, he cannot, she doesn't even know his last name......Eastwood. (he is joking) LOLOL. When is he coming back? He isn't. She protests that she is the hot one, and does the dumping. He retorts...."then consider me dumped:" before he walks out.

Theresa pours herself some wine, takes a sip, smashes the glass against the door, says the cheap wine glass was worth more than Clint, then begins drinking straight from the bottle, muttering how she hates Clint, hates JJ, Daniel, and most of all, she hates Brady.

Paul goes to see Marlena, telling her she was right, he did need to see her, to talk. He tells how the surgery was too little, too late, he won't play ball again. Then says the big news..he is gay. Marlena's expression doesn't change, Paul is surprised that she has no reaction. Marlena is countering his comments with questions, the kind shrinks ask, he notes this, doesn't like it, and eventually says coming here was a mistake, and leaves.

Derrick is picking up a tray outside a door at the hotel, sees a newspaper article about Sonny being attacked, flashes back to talking about Paul to Sonny, & ends up going to Paul and telling him about his conversation with Sonny, who bolted out of there. Paul says he & Sonny were a long time ago, it is over, but Derrick insists Sonny is still in love with Paul, the way he acted and dashed out.

Eric calls Serena, babbling about how she did not have to leave, they could have gone out to eat, or ordered in. zzzzzzzzzz. Daniel arrives, chit chat, all is well between them. Eric tells how Serena fell, Nicole arrived to pick her up, but all was well, she only was there to apologize to Eric, after have done so with Serena earlier. Daniel says Nicole must have been on a Grand Apology tour, as she visited him to do the same. He then admires various African items strewn around. Eric is deciding what to keep, and what to pack up again. Daniel admires the elephant, Eric noting he & Serena each bought one. Dan picks up an African mask, yada, yada, yada.

Nancy Drew is on her laptop, finding tons of Dr. Mandrakes images in her Ewe search, including one with a fellow who looks like Theresa's boyfriend. She dashes over to Serena's, needing her help, but is a secret. Melanie explains how she overheard Clint telling Dr. Mandrake he is keeping an eye on all, she thinks he means Theresa. And tho she doesn't really like Theresa, she feels sorry for her. Serena says to watch it, feeling sorry for someone causes you to get suckered in. They talk boyfriends, Mel & Brady are great, Serena & Eric "mostly great", but she says she & Eric were so close in Africa, and she now thinks it is her that has changed, not Eric. She gets to work on the laptop, finds Dr. Mandrake, who graduated med school with honors, is based in New York, where he is a fertility specialist.

Will comes to visit Sonny, bringing Ari, Sonny is delighted, tho not happy with being unable to remember what happened. Marlena comes in, says Sonny is looking stronger, his dad will be happy. She volunteers to take Ari for her nap, so Will can stay with Sonny. They leave to swap the car seats. later, Sonny is asleep, Will at the bedside. His phone goes off, Sonny wakes up, Will forgot to turn the ringer off, sorry. It is the magazine, the article is one line. Sonny wants to see it. Will gets his tablet, brings up the article. Big picture of Paul, with title "The Final Out". Sonny asks why Will just doesn't let him see it.

And over to Puget Sound, where this whole thing is being dragged out entirely too long. Replay of Hope finding the ax in the closet, commenting there has to be some other reason, putting it back, closing the door, and Aiden coming in behind her. What was she doing, she was cold, looking for something warm. Closet was locked, told her there was nothing warm in there. She shrugs, in one ear, out the other. He takes off his jacket, she steps back, he says he only was going to give it to her, putting it on her shoulders. (Sorry, but he can see something is bothering her, and knows about the video on the tablet). He again suggests a drink, she wants coffee or tea. He makes great hot chocolate.Fine. He goes off, she goes to get the tablet behind the cushions..gone. She realizes he knows she has seen it.
He returns with the cup of hot chocolate, she takes it, remembers how Meredith mentioned Aiden attempting to poison her wine, so now Hope won't drink it, stomach still a bit queazy, would rather have hot tea. He figures something is really bothering her, but goes to make the tea. She grabs her purse, goes to run out the door, he comes up behind her, slamming the door, asking where she is going. She claims a walk, He isn't buying it, something is wrong here. She is calming down, agrees she is over-reacting here, then rushes to grab a letter opener, telling him to stay away, she WILL use it. He has been lying to her, lying all along. He manages to wrestle it away from her, then says she is ritght, and they need to talk.

John and Marlena were both on the show today, but didn't have any interaction? TYPICAL. Whatever.

And the whole Paul/Marlena thing seems like a set up to create conflict or tension between them when/if it's revealed that John is Paul's father. We already dealt with this in 2001, we do NOT need this again.

Can't wait for Sonny to read Will's article! I was wondering if that newspaper article about Sonny's stabbing mentioned his husband Will Horton. When Derrick was talking to Paul about what happened to Sonny and he had the newspaper in his hand I was hoping maybe Paul would see it and see Will's name. It will also be funny when Paul finds out that Marlena is Will's grandmother. LOL.

So I'm thinking Eric is going to get rid of or give away that elephant which will totally throw Serena into a tailspin. I had a hard time concentrating on the dialogue between Melanie and Serena today because I was worried we might catch a glimpse of Melanie's rear end or lady parts since she obviously forgot to wear pants. As much as I dislike Melanie being a part of this story with the Brady/Theresa baby I'm glad that the story is at least moving.

I agree about the Hope/Aiden story. It's far too isolated. While there has been some suspense to it, it still feels like it's dragging. I think it's been 2 weeks (real time) since they arrived at the beach house and they're just now getting to the reason they're actually there, so Hope can find out exactly what happened with Meredith. I don't know, maybe it's just because I read Corday's interview and he spoiled too much. Meh.

That sweater, with the belt clear up underneath her bustline, is just ridiculous.

The only thing that really seemed interesting was that Will brought Arianna to see her other daddy Sonny. Good to see John today as well even though he was not in a scene with Marlena.
Will Hope's police instincts set in to save her?

That sweater thing is the ultimate "wearing a burlap sack". I think it is one of the worst things I have seen in the last few years. If,or as alot of us are guessing, when, it comes out that Aiden is a good guy, I would think he would be upset with Hope, who claims to love him, but yet could believe he murdered someone.

It's a good to see that John is fitting in so well at the Salem P.D. -- wandering around socializing instead of actively investigating the Sonny stabbing and Salem's rampant drug trade. Instead of John, perhaps Roman should have signed up Melanie and "Bluebird." They acquired information about Dr. Ignatius Mandrake far more quickly than his hapless police force could have. Speaking of the doctor-thug, he makes Wilhelm Rolf and Jakub Chyka look like refined gentleman. And it's not surprising that Mandrake was at the top of his class. The professors were probably afraid not to give him A's. As for the Aiden-Hope follies, enough already. This plot hit rock bottom with the sight of Hope waving a letter opener under Aiden's nose. Either reveal that he's a wife-killer or put an end to the continual string of red herrings.

Kristen would not be wreckless enough to hire a doctor who could be easily traced by looking through images on Ewe search. Come on now! And did we not see Melanie following in her dad's footsteps? In one episode, she's found a link between Clint and Mandrake. How long before she connects the dots to Kristen? That calls for a double

Nancy Drew indeed Poirot!

That sweater Melanie is sporting could actually look sort of cute with a pair of leggings and some knee-high boots but by itself as a "dress" and whatever stilettos she's wearing is just wrong wrong wrong. Especially here in the midwest where we have barely broken above 0 for high temp the past couple days. Good grief.

Hope is supposed to be a trained cop, and yet was easily overcome, unable to keep the man at bay. I guess without her gun and 2 or 3 uniforms to back her up, she is unable to hold her own. Hope needs to watch Beckett on Castle, or Laura on Mysteries of Laura for a refresher course.

Daniel assumed John wanted to talk to him about Melanie and Brady's budding new romance. Really, how old are Melanie and Brady again that John and Daniel have seemingly given their approval for them to date.

To echo Poirot, Hope is a trained police officer with years of experience apprehending criminals. She wouldn't run around a cabin to get away from Aiden. She'd kick his butt!

Oh this was kinda tough.

Not buying Melanie and Brady as "great" and "wonderful" and "we laugh a lot." It should have been "tiring" "childish" and "boink."

Derrick must be auditioning for the Salem PD. He's jumping to a lot of ill-informed conclusions.

I can't say anything about Jeannie T and her hatred for Brady, other than WHAT SHALLOW and CRUMMY writing. All these writers seem to know is hatefulness masking "lerv".

I almost can tolerate Melanie when she's trying to help Jeannie T... although I agree, Mandrake's showing up on Ewe Search WITH A PICTURE OF THUG CLINT is improbable, almost as improbable as there being "a lot of Dr Mandrakes."...ONLY IN SALEM!!!

The Paul/Marlena scenes did nothing for me and added nothing to Paul's character. He's coming off as a bit unstable and I kinda wanted Marlena to sedate him.

Sonny's last memory is with Paul, who for some reason HE STILL HAS NEVER TOLD WILL ABOUT. I...just...can't...even...........

Thanks for the summary. This episode was...well...kind of ridiculous. Firstly, why haven't we seen a romantic Valentine's Day episode? I guess because there's no real couples in Salem, and if there are any, it's always just about climbing into bed.

John/Daniel/Marlena/Paul/Eric/Serena/Brady/Melanie---OK, this was all kind of filler. Yes, Melanie's wardrobe is ridiculous. Even more ridiculous is the fact that she's wasting all this time researching a supposed doctor that she barely overheard someone talking about that may involve a woman she can't stand...huh? Just too far fetched, even for this soap. And now Serena's involved? Gimme a break! And yup, Daniel and John talking about their grown children dating, rather than John doing his job, is absurd! As for the Paul stuff, the only reason I can think of as to why he's always acting weird around Marlena is the theory that he's John's son, so there must be conflict. Once again, a repeat storyline, as we've seen this with Brady YEARS ago!! And is Eric really such a tattletale baby that he must talk to Daniel about Serena falling down and Nicole being there? He's as gossipy as the nurses at Salem U Hospital!

The suspense for the Hope & Aiden storyline is good but the storyline itself just wasn't written very well. Too many red herrings, dragged out too long, too many dumb little things (Hope forgetting her charger, the bridge being out for so long, etc), and now this cop gets overpowered?

Will & Sonny---it's about to hit the fan!

Theresa--her and Clint weren't even a real couple, as all they did was drink and have sex. I don't get why she's so upset. And proclaiming her hatred for JJ when she's barely interacting with him nowadays? This one-note character stuff the writers have come up is with is stupid, especially for such a talented actress and a character with ties to a major family in town, and a lot of storyline potential.

I laughed a lot watching today's show.

Theresa wanted to know Clint's last name. He said Eastwood. I figured his name
was Clint Black because he wore a black jacket. And now he's leaving because he
thinks Theresa isn't remembering. I bet she starts remembering more.

We all need Ewe search since it's so great. How lucky can Mel be to have
a picture pop with Clint in it? Anyone else notice she left her lap top at home,
but it was with her in the bag at Serena's?

I thought it was interesting when Daniel brought cupcakes we
learned Eric can't make coffee.

Serena had the best line about Dr Mandrake going to the "Transylvania
School of Medicine". He is a mad scientist :)

Will we see Hope and Aiden tomorrow or will we have to wait a day
to learn truth about how Meredith died?
