Cannot believe this is a Monday episode. First 5 minutes are a complete replay of the last 5 minutes of Friday’s show. I guess to refresh one’s memory. So, let’s start off with the prince & princess doing their waltz thing, Carrie stumbling, falling into Rafe’s arms, as Sami comes in, and stands watching. She is soon joined by Austin, who folds his arms as he watches, saying hi. Want to see two guilty faces? That is Carrie & Rafe, who immediately begin explaining about the actors being unable to come, Sami being out of town. Sami, surprisingly, doesn’t say much, her face says a lot. She takes off her things, claims to understand. Carrie is babbling, as is Rafe. Austin is clearly not pleased. Sami says never mind, wants to get the party going. She asks about the kids, mentions Sydney being with Gramma, noooo, she is with Will. Sami is puzzled, goes to call Will, who is smirking as he lets her know he has taken Sydney to the DiMera house, there is a party going on, family, friends, etc. He hangs up on her.She is livid, tells Rafe to get the punch. He comes out with the bowl of punch, asks Austin to help him find the ladle. Austin sarcastically tells him since he is a detective, go find it himself, and walks off. Sami is putting on her coat, Carrie is trying to get Sami to “be the Princess”, but she doesn’t have time. Both Carrie & Rafe are dressed, fine. She is going to get Sydney. Rafe insists on coming along, even in costume. They leave.

And now Austin lets Carrie have it. She is trying to make excuses about it being last minute, but Austin reminds her that she never has any time, but she found it for this. They had to look for an opening just so they could have a date and dinner. He is clearly upset, and now John & Marlena walk in, immediately realizing it is probably a bad time. Austin moans to John how Carrie spends all her time with Rafe, no time for him. Carrie is doing the same with Marlena, who at first is sympathetic as Carrie talks of getting her business off the ground. Then Carrie begins talking of how Austin doesn’t understand all the stress she feels with it all. Marlena asks about the long hours, and Carrie admits that she & Rafe really are just sitting around trying to think up what to do. And Marlena wisely says…in other words, you are avoiding spending time with your husband, to spend it with Rafe.

Earlier, John was going over budgets he & Marlena had both drawn up, when she comes out in a black teddy with a leopard patterned jacket over it. John is impressed, and then aroused, remembering the Valentine’s Day when she first wore that. They decide to take this all to the bedroom, lol, and later we see them coming out, about 95% dressed, laughing, enjoying each other, with Marlena saying something about how John continually has ways to surprise her. They are leaving for Sydney’s party.

And speaking of parties, over to DiMansion, where EJ seems to have caught Abe exchanging the debate questions, but no….Abe wiggles out of it, claiming to have been looking for a pen as he forgot to sign Sydney’s card. This is in the foyer. In the study, Sydney is busily opening her gifts, greatly assisted by Nicole. EJ comes in, tells Will perhaps it is time to take Sydney back. Nope, Will, grins, mom is not due back for a couple hours yet. Little chit chats go on all over the room, and Will gets his call from his mother, hangs up on her, and gets a self-satisfied look on his face. EJ & Nicole are playing tea party with Sydney, lexie is tending to Theo, Jennifer hearing from Abe about EJ catching him, but he managed to wiggle out. Knowing his mom, he gets Theo & Sydney to go to the kitchen where Cook has some special chocolate cake. And bingo, there is Sami at the door, come to get her daughter from you kidnappers. She is angry, EJ tries to explain about just having a little party. Sami tells him in no uncertain terms that he does not have custody of the kids, that he gave up all rights, that he doesn’t even have visitation. She continues that she has been very generous about letting him see the kids, but he gets no more breaks. Unless she gives her express permission, he cannot see the kids. Will is watching, a self-satisfied smile on his face. Rafe has not said much at all. Sydney comes running in, crying “Stop!”. Sami picks her up, apologizing to her, saying how worried she was not knowing where Sydney was. Now she begins talking of the other party at the Pub, everyone waiting for her. Sydney wants Daddy to come. Sami makes excuses about Daddy being busy and cannot come, but she grabs his leg. Sami relents, says fine, Daddy can come, but we have to leave now. She asks Nicole to help get Sydney’s jacket, hurridly putting it on. EJ promises to be by later when they clean up first. Sami, Rafe & Sydney leave, Abe tells Lexie they should go to. They all talk of maybe going to the Pub, but Jen says she has had enough drama for one day. Abe & Lexie agree, and Lexie takes Theo off to get his things, while Abe lets Jen know he got the fake questions back in the drawer, and Nicole tells EJ the questions are in a very safe place.
EJ next gets hold of Will, wanting to know what that was all about. Will claims his mom just returned earlier than expected. EJ wonders how she knew Sydney was there, then warns Will that he is treading on dangerous ground here. Will smiles, smirks and said, but wasn’t it great to see her reaction? He leaves, EJ shakes his head.

And over in Horton Square, I just cannot bore you with the coversation between Stefano, Bo & Hope, because you have already heard it all several times. Open the box, don’t open the box, ditto, ditto, ditto. Stefano tries his mind games, Bo & Hope don’t fall, he finally agrees on one condition…..that only he sees the contents of the envelope. Bo & Hope refuse, and we get more of the open it, don’t open it, we’ll do it without you, yada, yada, yada. Upshot…box stays unopened. Stefano leaves saying they know where to find him, should they change their minds.

Rafe, Sami & Sydney arrive at the Pub, with those inside making a big fuss over Sydney. She gets her tiara put on, Carrie makes a big fuss, then asks if Sydney knows who she is supposed to be. Princess Miranda, replies Sydney. EJ & Nicole come in, EJ sweeps his little princess up, complimenting her beautiful tiara. Will arrives, Sami, thru clenched teeth tells him she is not going to make a scene now, but when this party is over, they are going to have a serious conversation. Ah, yes.Rafe makes some remark about Sydney never forgetting this day. Sami looks at EJ & Nicole, back at Rafe, Carrie in their costumes, and pointedly replies yes, one Sydney will never forget……and neither will she ever forget one second of this day.

Maybe Lexie meant ......hmmm, Sydney?? LOL. What she should have said was "party is over". Ha.
