Hope sneaks around Aiden's house, flashing back to watching Meredith's video. Aiden comes downstairs, declaring that he slept well. Hope slept well, got up early to find out if the bridge was open. Aiden reports it'll be another day or two (he called Town Hall for info). Hope offers to help Aiden with his to-do list, where are his tools? Flashback of him hiding his shovel, etc. Aiden wants to check on the bridge, then they can go to the diner. Hope counteroffers that he should check on the bridge, and she'll have a delicious meal waiting for him. He accepts.

Melanie comes into the Kmansion calling for Brady, Brady comes in behind her, apparently he's trying to give her a gift (but we don't see it in the first scene); they kiss. Melanie opens the present, it's a "Do Not Disturb" sign, which he hopes will remind her of their first night together. He wants them to skip work and celebrate all day.

Daniel is leaving a message for Jen, thanks her for talking with him about Nicole, wants to donate some clothes to her church. There's a knock at the door, it's Eric, ostensibly thanking Daniel for his work saving Sonny...but he really wants to talk about Nicole. Daniel tells Eric they're through after that last stunt with Serena. Eric didn't know. Daniel rehashes his deal with Nicole, but says Sonny almost dying put things in perspective. How are things going with Serena? Eric says things are going smoothly. Eric's glad they're not on the outs, admires some of Daniel's artwork.

Serena is on the phone, apologises for failing in her task last night, but will be able to pull it off because no one knows what she's up to. Knock, knock, it's Nicole outside Serena's door, Serena is on the defence immediately, she destroyed the flashdrive and won't call the cops. But Nicole just wants to apologise and let her know she was all wrong about her. Serena assumes Nicole's just there to get back with Daniel. Nicole admits she does want him back, can you blame her? Serena admits things with Ted, Eric, etc., can be confusing...do we ever really know what we want? Serena slams the door in her face as Nicole wonders if they have something in common. When she's alone, Serena decides she's making things too complicated. Outside, Nicole calls Eric.

Kayla and Paige are at Club TBD, Kayla is raving about Paige's recent stint in the children's wing. Paige starts crying and Kayla tries to comfort her. She relays JJ's hookup with another girl, Kayla knew (through Eve), Kayla doesn't know her. Paige remains steadfast in her resolve to find her. Later, she's apparently filled Kayla in on JJ's continued relationship, which has strengthened her determination to find the other woman.

Jennifer has returned home early because of Sonny; Abby says he'll be fine. But where's JJ? Cut over to Eve's, where JJ wakes up. He looks around, then looks crestfallen. At the Horton House, Jen discusses not finding JJ in his room, and finding his phone on the front step. Back at Eve's, JJ is dressing and looking around for something. Eve wakes up and calls to him. At the Horton House, Jen wishes she could snoop in JJ's phone. Meanwhile JJ is looking for his phone in the couch, etc, at Eve's. He decides to leave without his phone, Eve hands him his wallet, they stop for a second, and he walks out.

Second Half
Aiden leaves; Hope decides to watch more of the video, in which Meredith details how fun Aiden was when they first started dating, and how he changed, now wanting her dead. She details how Aiden loved calling her a drunk, and she started getting tipsy after a few drinks, then two; she finally figured out he was putting anti-freeze in her drinks, which he kept in a paper bag in a cabinet under the stairs in the living room. Hope runs to a desk, pulls the bag with a bottle of antifreeze out of a drawer. This proves nothing, it could be planted. Hope goes back to the tablet, Meredith explains that when she figured out about the poisoning, she called a doctor, but Aiden stopped, and had to find another way. She lists some, including the axe in the closet. Meredith's video is interrupted by Aiden shouting through the door (on the video), just as he is knocking on the cabin in real life.

After more smooching, Melanie decides that they should do something today instead of just snogging; more smooching, snogging, and babbling about how they should go do something. They run into Nicole as they're leaving, Brady gets a call from Hong Kong, steps out. Melanie immediately tells the somewhat surprised Nicole that Daniel knows about her & Brady, Nicole congratulates them. Brady returns, having put Hong Kong off, why did Nicole come over again? Brady is her only friend, explains the situation with Serena/Ted, wants to make sure Brady and Melanie won't hate her, and might forgive her. After Nicole has left, Melanie thinks Nicole's behaviour was odd, Brady says she's down on herself. More babbling about leaving and smooching.

At the hospital, Serena asks Eric if he got her text. His phone was off. She offers to make him lunch to apologise for blowing their weekend getaway. She owes him, and reminds him of making him mac 'n' cheese when he was homesick in the Congo. She wants to meet him at his place. Seriously, she will have lunch ready for him if he tells her when he'll be done. He gives her his apartment key.

Kayla asks Paige if there's someone better to help Paige, like Eve. Paige finds this idea laughable; Eve enters the Club. Eve wants to fix things, Paige wants space. (Kayla sits there, stonefaced.) Eve tries to ask about Paige's internship, Paige haughtily tells her to go. Later, Paige tells Kayla what a hypocrite Eve is, how she thinks all guys are terrible for Paige, but Eve's so easy. Paige relays meeting many guys at Breakfast, only for them never to return...except this last guy, who stayed out of sight. Paige remembers seeing the random guy's coat, pretending she didn't see it, but she'll never forget it.

At the Horton House, Jen and Abby are attempting to hack JJ's phone. JJ enters, surprised Jen's back early, sees his phone. Jen explains she found it, then asks him where he was last night. JJ claims he left for the library in a rush after making his bed, was in such a hurry he didn't notice his phone. Jen has to go to the hospital, hugs; after Jen leaves, Abby asks JJ for the truth, knows he's wearing the same clothes he was last night. JJ doesn't have to answer to her, claims he went to see Paige, Abby presses, finally gets him to admit he was with his previous hookup. He tells her he hopes last night was the last time, Abby doesn't understand; JJ doesn't know what he's going to do, and storms upstairs.

At Daniel's, the coat JJ borrowed is among the Doc's possessions to be donated. Later, he and Eve run into each other in the Square (after she leaves the Club). He's got a new toy for Parker, they talk about how Eve loves babysitting for him, etc. Eve hopes their "bumps" are in the past, explains that Paige is mad at her, and that Paige & Daniel have a strong relationship...could Daniel speak up on Eve's behalf with Paige? Eve must be desperate, Daniel notes, before telling her only she can fix things with Paige.

Eric is listening to Nicole's message, she is hoping to make amends, but knows she can't now, and hopes that he won't mind what she's about to do. Meanwhile at Eric's, Serena comes in with a bag of groceries, pulls her elephant out her purse, trips on the carpet...just as Nicole enters.

Brady can't keep his hands off of Melanie. Is this love, or just more heat? Meanwhile, they feel the need to celebrate their first sexual encounter, as if acting like two dogs in heat is worthy of such celebration. I hope Melanie gets fired and Brady gets replaced as CEO of Titan for this foolishness.

Eve's gross music has returned. I had hoped never to hear its like again. And...can someone remind me where Jen went?

Hopefully Serena's simplification involves murdering Eric and taking his dumb statue.

I'm assuming Hope's lying but won't her crummy cooking enrage the supposedly psychotic Aiden? Or should we forget that it's a long-running gag that Hope is not a great cook? LOL

DOES ANYBODY LIKE THESE Melanie/Brady scenes? More stumbling, babbling, let's-do-this talk that goes nowhere. I'm vomiting AND rolling my eyes, LOL.

Nicole looks fabulous. But do you think it ever occurred to the writers to have her genuinely move on? Of course, we'll never know what she was planning to do, and of course even though she's basically caught Serena red-handed, nobody will believe her. Let's pick this up already!!!

I really really hate Paige, and I really want her to die. Rather than causing empathy for her mother, Paige's recalling Eve's past of being used by men who never return seems to make her hate her more.

Good suspense during the Hope/Aiden scenes. The Serena/Nicole ending was predictable, but still nicely done and mildly suspenseful.

Of all the plot holes to fill, the writers have chosen the jacket plot hole. I can't decide if it's brilliant or puke-worthy...yet, but I'm sure the result will be the latter even though the device itself was pleasantly unexpected.

I really really want Eve to move on and have some better story in the next few months, or be revealed as a DiMera operative and the real Eve is being held somewhere. Can't take much more of JJ's brooding, the hate boinks, nosy Jen, and dopey Paige!!!

Thanks, Jason. It seems to me that whenever Daniel is involved in clothing donations, something big happens. The baby onesie from Nicole in 2012, and now this jacket. Also, I found the entire Paige/Eve/JJ/Jennifer/Abby thing so dumb. It was nice to see Kayla, but she deserves better than being involved with this crap storyline.

Equally silly and dumb is the thing with Melanie/Brady/Nicole/Daniel/Serena/Eric. It's just SO boring! Melanie and Brady babbling the same idiotic things over and over again and nothing comes from it...who cares? Same thing with Eric and everyone else.

The Hope and Aiden storyline is a bit mysterious, but I like them together and want them to be a happy couple. The fact that red herrings about Aiden have been overdone the past few months, coupled with the fact that this most likely is also a red herring, turn me off even more from the storyline.

Too bad they write so far in the future. Paige could come down with measles since she was in LA in December and it could spread to a whole bunch of folks. They would have to be contained, not out and about, gone. Oh well.

Thanks for writing this up I so look forward to fast forwarding through Brady's current sexual addiction storyline.

Why are Jennifer and Abby so interested in JJ's sex life? For goodness sake, JJ is an adult and not some teenager sleeping around. I remember Abby not liking JJ questioning her about EJ. Although I do see Jennifer's concern to where JJ was, because I am 61 who lives with my mom and I can be sure she would worry where I was unless I had called.

:OT: When I was a kid, we had a neighbor woman who was almost 100. Her adult son lived with her to help look after her needs. He was in his 70's. The mother was upset because he was seeing "a young chick". His lady-friend was in her 50's. Sometimes he'd spend the night at her place and when he came home in the morning, we'd all hear the mother chewing him out for being out all night with that "young girl". He'd yell back: "For crying out loud.... I'm SEVENTY TWO YEARS OLD!!!" LOL

So, regardless of age, mama always worries when you're out all night.

Ah, Jason, you should get a medal for watching the show today, well......parts of it. Loved that Kayla got out of the hospital, hated that it was so Paige could dump on her, and then poor Kayla to witness the cringeworthy scene between mother and daughter.
Nosy Jennifer, who refuses to accept her son is an adult, was at a conference, Jason.
Why were most of the Salemites dressed like they forgot it was winter? Nicole shows up at apartment doors & houses with no coat. Melanie is wearing some ill fitting, off the shoulder, too short number. Does both Brady & Melanie know it is a work day? Even Hong Kong was working.
Can that moaning porn music for Eve, PLEASE!
Agree with all those whose patience is exhausted with JJ,Eve,Paige problems, with Nicole trying to make amends to all those jerks who don't deserve nor know how to accept apologies.
U*GH on saving the Do Not Disturb door sign as a "remembrance". Truly crass.

I forgot that I had a conference call at 1 today so luckily I watched on DVR. I fats forwarded ANYTHING Eve/JJ or Brady/Melanie. I was forced to suffer through Paige because I do not fast forward Kayla scenes.

First off, I think the wardrobe department on this show is as one note as the writers. Hope is always in print pants with a non-matching sweater. The colors may match but the prints do not. Serena and Anne are always in wrap dresses and Serena's are a size too small. Abby and/or Jenn usually have some hideous, unflattering print on. And we all know about Will's shirts.

Line of the day from Eve to Daniel: "I'm tired of this cold weather" meanwhile she is not even shivering and wearing a raincoat!

Paige was tolerable with Kayla but again there was no familial connection established. What should have happened was Kayla either mentioning or immediately calling Grandma Kimberly after the conversation.

As I said yesterday, I'm really more curious about what happens to Hope and Aiden after Puget Sound as I'm convinced that this is all a setup. He was surely instigated into screaming in the video.

Jennifer and Abigail are better detectives than Hope. Re: JJ, it's not Jenn's business however, he does live in her house so while it's not her business at the same time he needs to be respectful. A simple text or call to Abigail would have sufficed since Jenn was away. I realize he didn't have his phone in this case.

Jason--thank you. I do miss your added commentary as part of the write-up. And I have no clue where Jenn was. Seemed she was in Salem "yesterday".

I don't think he was being disrespectful by staying at someone else's house (even if I  that it was Eve's place). Plus, he didn't have his phone on him.

Brady's hero:

Another good line was Brady suggesting to Melanie that they follow up their night of passion by "blow[ing] off" work. He appears to be unaware that for these two no-showers, skipping work would be nothing out of the usual. And pity poor Nicole, forced by the writers into yet another magical, mystery apology tour. Hopefully, catching the elephant-switcher in the act will be significant, but given the way things are going, it probably won't. Finally, things went from bad to worse in the "hate boink" department. At least after the EJ-Sami hate-boink and JJ-Eve, Parts I and II, the participants fled each other's presence when they'd finished taking care of business. This time, however, JJ actually spent the night. If there's a Part IV, will Eve be serving him breakfast in bed?? :sarcasm:

Since Jennifer was out of town at a conference and not expected home til the next night, JJ was not concerned at all about calling home. His mother was not there. However, she arrived earlier than they thought, but it WAS the next morning.
And why didn't Jen let her children know she was able to catch an earlier flight??

Pretty soon, they'll be booking a romantic suite with a hot-tub and couple's massages at the Green Mountain Lodge.

Or better yet, they'll be shacking up in the Horton Cabin--JJ's own sister's favorite place to carry out her own illicit affair with EJ DiMera just a year ago.

Pretty soon, they'll be booking a romantic suite with a hot-tub and couple's massages at the Green Mountain Lodge.

And saving the door signs.:sick::sick::sick::sick::sick::sick:

...Nosy Jennifer, who refuses to accept her son is an adult, was at a conference, Jason....

Thanks!! Who knew she even worked? It must have been the Sleeveless Fashion Conference '15!!

...Paige was tolerable with Kayla but again there was no familial connection established. What should have happened was Kayla either mentioning or immediately calling Grandma Kimberly after the conversation.
I fully agree. I also liked that Kayla didn't trash Eve, but man, I really hate Paige!!

Excellent points. Too bad if JJ explained it that way, and said he didn't know his mom was home, it would end the snooping, and thus this farce of a storyline. Now I'm sure someone will get curious and eventually put 2+2 together.

Jason--thank you. I do miss your added commentary as part of the write-up. And I have no clue where Jenn was. Seemed she was in Salem "yesterday".
I'm all about balance. Sometimes it's appropriate, sometimes not...LOL. I had some comments in-line but they were getting too clunky, so I moved them to their own post. :)

I love doing the summaries...sometimes I'm not paying attention to how yucky things are because I'm so busy getting the facts. And today I remembered to eat lunch BEFORE the show started, LOL.

Good question, KathyLu... when did Hope learn to cook? Maybe gourmet
breakfast means toast. I know Bo used to joke a lot about her not cooking.
In fact, it was when they were in the safe house with the others wondering
who was going to cook since Marlena, Hope and Carrie were there. I
think they made sandwiches.

Hope needs to remember when she wants to be sneaky don't
wear shoes. And make sure the curtains are closed if she's going
to be snooping around.

I enjoyed Meredith's video. When she talked about the ax being
in the closet and he liked sharping it all the time. The end with
Aiden knocking on the video and the cabin reminded me of the
older movies.

I was surprised to hear Eve's music again. They really need
to stop playing it.

Thanks for the summary Jason.
