Seeing as some of our wonderful administrators and helpers here at the Salem Spectator have been working really hard, trying to post summaries, while juggling jobs, preparations for the Holidays or sick little kids (hope everything is fine now), I thought I would help with the summary today. I may forget a few things, so others, feel free to add or correct me.

Part one :

So, we begin with Rafe talking on the phone with Victor, wanting to know if Victor found out anything about Clyde. Victor says they'll talk later and opens the door of the living room to make way, precisely for Clyde. It appears Victor called him there. At first, Clyde is enchanted that a man like Victor wanted to meet with him, as Clyde has admired him and his business ways since long before he came to Salem. Victor tells Clyde to stop his sucking up, as if he asked him there, it's to order him to leave town. Victor know that he's a drug dealer looking to establish himself and his business in Salem, and won't have any of that. Victor than mentions the strange coincidence that EJ Dimera died, having been shot by a drug addict. Victor says that Clyde probably gave the drugs the guy right before he "overdosed", after having provided him with the gun that was used to shoot EJ. So Victor gives him two choices : One, leave town. Two : go to prison for 10 to 20 years. Clyde remarks that if neither of these choices are good. That if he goes to prison, he's young enough to still be alive after 10 years. Victor cannot say the same. Then, Clyde proceeds to tell him about having "employees" that used to work for Victor and he knows all about Victor. So basically, if one of them goes down, both of them go down. Clyde leaves, Victor calling him a *bleep*. Rafe calls back Vic, who tells him that he tried something that didn't work and he will have need more time to "get rid of Clyde". (Go, Victor !)

Meanwhile, Chad is on the phone with daddy Stefano, who's so happy that Chad and Jordan had sex. He knew since Chad didn't come home last night (guess Harold still keeps tabs on everyone). Chad does not want to talk about his sex life with his father (ya think ? :sick: ), to which Stefano replies that he did not have the same reservations when Chad first learned about Jordan's brother sleeping with Abigail. (So I guess... correct me if I'm wrong), Chad is only using Jordan to get back at Ben). Rafe comes to Dimansion then, with a search warrant (!!!!!). Stefano says something to the effect of Chad helping Sami with the fraud charges after EJ's death and that he knew, not really sure I got all that and maybe that's why Rafe is there, plus the fact that Jordan used to be with him. Chad hangs up. And Stefano makes another call and asks that documents be delivered to RRRRRRRafael Hernandez immediately. Later, while the forensics expert is typing away on a laptop, (at least the guy is wearing gloves), a lawyer hired by Stefano arrives with documents that prove that Chad Dimera had nothing to do with the tax evasion, as he was not CEO. Rafe is angry, leaves with the laptop and forensics expert, tells Chad he will be back. And Jordan will realize who Chad really is, maybe before New Year.

Oooh, snide, snark, and a few threats. Some Salemites just may get coal in their stockings next week. LOL Stefano calls Chad, already knows he slept with Jordan last night, Chad gets upset that Stefano followed him. Nope, Stefano just knows Chad did not come home last night and surmised. Chad is not going to discuss his sex life with his father. Harold has already announced that Rafe is there, Chad says for him to wait. But after a while, Rafe just comes in, has waited long enough. He has a search warrant. Stefano hears all this, Chad hangs up. Rafe calls in another guy, forensics expert to help, who is going to work on the laptop. Gee, Chad thought maybe he was there because he found out Chad had slept with Jordan last night. (This is definitely not the Chad of old!). Rafe doesn't take the bait. Meanwhile Stefano is giving orders to someone about bringing documents immediately.
And sure enough, some attorney walks in with documents pertaining to the search warrant. The upshot is, Chad was not involved at all in DiMera Enterprises when the info on Stefano & EJ occurred, so nothing before the day Chad became co-CEO is relevant. The forensic guy looks at the papers, all is in order, he packs up and leaves. Rafe is leaving as well, Chad says he will be sure and tell Jordan that Rafe said hello. Rafe tells him Jordan is one smart gal, and will realize what Chad is before New Year's.
Chad & Stefano are again on the phone, Chad thanks his father, Stefano would do anything for his loyal son. But then notes that he knows Chad is working with Victor to help him.

We do have replays of closing scenes from yesterday. Nicole bumps into Serena, who apologizes, introduces herself as Serena, but Nicole manages to avoid giving her own name. When Serena is gone, Nicole asks Maxine for a piece of paper, so she can leave a note for Dr. Jonas. Maxine is very short with Nicole (why???) showing she would not deliver the message herself, gives Nicole the paper. Nicole acts all innocent, asking about Serena, that she was doing a piece on her. Maxine snorts, on medical research? Yep, then asks how you spell her last name again. Maxine gives a disgusted sigh, oh, it is really hard, M _ A_ S _ O _ N. (lol)
Daniel runs across Eric, who is taking pictures in the park, (Daniel is wearing the scarf Nicole gave him), they small talk, Dan mentions meeting Serena, Eric is taken aback, Dan explains her being a friend of his daughter, and invites Eric, along with Serena to an early dinner at his place. Dan will let him know about Serena. Later Dan runs into Serena in the hospital, gives her the invite, she agrees to come. He will order takeout.
Meanwhile, Nicole is researching info on Serena, gets impressive results, college, degrees in neuroscience, awards for articles, etc. etc. And a mention of her being in the Congo. Lightbulb for Nicole, who knows Daniel was there as well, and Serena was in some of the pictures he had shown her. And here comes Eric of course, apologizing for how he talked to her earlier, that they will be running into each other around town, and can just say hello. Nicole has her arm sort of bent over her laptop or tablet, but knocks over her coffee cup, Eric quickly grabbing the laptop, sees Serena's info there. Nicole explains about seeing her, realizing she had seen her somewhere, and that now she remembers seeing her on his pics. Eric gets angry, of course, tells Nik to stay out of his life, but she already has her things picked up, and is out of here, is done.

Paige is on the phone with JJ, bemoaning still being in CA. Her mom and Kim are getting word on her grampa right now. They hang up, and over to Dr. Green's office, where he imparts the good news that Shane will be fine, make a full recovery. Kim is thrilled, goes to tell Paige, but Eve doesn't look all that happy, stays behind with a few questions. Kim has gone to tell Paige the good news, they talk a bit about Eve trying to run her life. Kim says she knows Eve loves paige very much, but figures Paige probably feels like Theresa does about Kim...too much interference. (nice scenes)
Meanwhile Eve is telling Dr. Green, she needs him for something, and he has to be discreet. She really is flirting, and insinuating she wants to bed him. When he asks if she stays with Kim or a hotel, she suddenly is all......You have the wrong impression. Now she gives him a paper, on which she has listed all JJ's misdeeds, explaining how she wants to keep this guy away from her daughter, so wants Dr. Green to pretend there is really something serious with Shane.....to Paige. He is reluctant, so Eve blackmails him, claiming she will tell his wife how he propositioned her. He says she would not. but Eve assures him she would. So, next Paige is coming in, Eve is pretending to be wiping a tear, so Dr. Green can tell her how all is not good with Grampa Shane.

Rafe has called Victor to see if he has gotten anything on Clyde. Vic cannot talk now, hangs up. He opens the door, inviting Clyde to come in. Clyde is all his usual smarmy charm, but Victor tells him to cut the hayseed act. LOL (these are really good scenes). He knows what Clyde is doing in Salem, doesn't like it, wants him to pack his bags and leave. These guys go back and forth, Victor saying Clyde will be in jail for 10-20 years, & Clyde saying he is young enough to still be alive if he went to jail, but could Victor say the same. Victor talks of EJ's death, Clyde taking over that part of the drug selling business (and yes, he says drugs, not "product".) But now Clyde talks of the the men he hired, some worked for Victor at one time, one has a very good memory. Vic doesn't back off, but neither does Clyde, who intends to stick around.

Jordan runs into Kate.....or vice versa, and more snarky barbs are exchanged. Kate mentions Jordan sleeping with Chad, Jordan figures none of her business, mentions Jordan not liking Kate with Clyde. Jordan says to leave her alone, takes off, Kate follows. More verbal insults thrown back and forth. Kate talking of Rafe dumping Jordan, who counters that she broke up with Rafe. Kate figures Jordan was jealous because Rafe preferred bedding her instead of Jordan, who is right back with "make up your mind...am I the *bleep* who is sleeping with Chad, or so lousy in bed with Rafe? She then adds a bit about Kate spending all that time being Stefano's main hooker.

Jordan shows up at Chad's, they are kissing. Kate & Clyde meet up, more kissing.
Rafe calls Victor, who admits he had an idea that did not pan out. But he will continue working on it.
Jordan meets up with Eric, who is not in a good mood, but she tells of seeing Daniel, knows about dinner, insists they go change now, so she won't be late again for something. He doesn't look too thrilled, but agrees,...o.k. "whatever".

Daniel opens his door to Nicole, who comes in, looks all happy, tells him that she knows definitely that Daniel would not be any rebound guy after Eric. Daniel is a bit puzzled, wonders what that means. This.......she kisses him, he kisses her back.
 
Part two :

Replay of Serena and Nicole bumping into each other. Serena apologizes, Nicole smiles, says it's O.K., Serena introduces herself, but Nicole fakes a phone call and leaves. Serena goes back to work. Nicole goes to see Maxine, asks her to tell Daniel she wants to see him, to which Maxine replies "I don't know why he'd be interested" (I hated that :angry:). So Nicole then asks for a piece of paper to leave a note, proceeding to ask Maxine about Serena, as she wants to do a piece about her. She asks Maxine to spell her last name (M-A-S-O-N), giving Nicole the chance to do a research on her laptop, later at club TBD. There, she runs into Eric, who is trying to apologize about being snarky with her the last time he saw her. Nicole tries to hide her laptop, says it's O.K., then a cup of coffee is pilled (of course !) and Eric grabs the laptop to save it, seeing Nicole's search. Nicole says she was only trying to know who this woman was, as she remembered her from the Africa pictures, but Eric won't have any of that. He tells her to stay out of his life, Nicole tells him that's what she's doing, and to get over himself. She leaves.

Previously, in the park (where else ?), Daniel has run into Eric, who's taking pictures (probably for the Guiness Book of Records, as all the leaves are still there, though Dan and Eric do say it's a nice winter day :rolleyes: ). Daniel talks about having met Serena (yesterday at club TBD with Melanie), tells Eric Melanie knew Serena in Europe. Daniel is teasing Eric about Serena being beautiful, wanting to know more. It ends in a dinner invitation for Serena and Eric to go to Daniel's place tonight. Later, at the hospital, Daniel asks Serena, she says yes, is nearly done here (shortest first day of work ever !!!!), so will bring the wine. Later, in HTC, Serena runs into gloom and doom Eric, who tells here about his encounter with Nicole. And then tells Serena she met Nicole, but that Nicole made sure Serena did not know who she was.

At Daniel's apartment, Nicole arrives to tell Daniel that she thought about the two of them and that if anything happens between them, it's not because she's trying to get over Eric Brady. Daniel asks her why she's feeling that way, Nicole says simply because, nothing more. And then proceeds to kiss Daniel (Oh, writers, what are you doing to Nicole now ?).

And lastly, Paige, JJ, Rory, Kimberly (yes, Kimberly, who was only there to receive the news that Shane was going to be alright after all... good thing). Kimberly leaves the doctor's office and goes to see Paige. (Unfortunately, I can't go into details, as I FF a lot of these scenes). Before that, there were scenes where Paige and JJ are on the phone missing each other and loving each other soooo much, (frankly, at that point, Paige does not know that Shane is out of the woods, so I find her to be quite selfish). Then Eve stays with the doctor, wants to talk to him about something very, very personal (stupid porno music is back), the flirting there is sickening. Finally, the idiot married doctor takes the bate, and caresses Eve's hand. She acts all appaled, threatens the doctor to call his wife if he does not tell Paige that Shane is really sick. There's another a scene I missed, where Paige, despite having talked to Kimberly, comes into the doctors office and sees her mother "crying" over daddy Shane.
 
@the Writer......Was really very kind of you to want to help us out. The thing is, we do have to know ahead of time, (and I did have some things to do this a.m. but since we already had a problem yesterday, figured I would just put it off. And yes, time is getting away from us all.
I did laugh when Daniel said it was a nice winter day......not a flake of snow anywhere, leaves on trees and shrubs.....someone needs to get new glasses for the set people. LOL
 
I wonder if it was a blooper by Joe Mascolo (Stefano) and with the "one take rule" they just went with it? Just like when Alison Sweeney (Sami) referred to Jennifer as "Cousin Jennifer" to Allie instead of "Aunt Jennifer". Alison Sweeney later said she flubbed the line.

And he had the same lack of good sense as many Salemites, allowing himself to be manipulated by Eve. As for other Salemites, here are a few messages.

Victor: Don't let yourself be pushed around by Clyde. Good grief, you once kidnapped the mighty Stefano and tried to extort control of DiMera Enterprises from EJ. The same Kiriakis operatives who once snatched the Phoenix for you could crush Clyde like a bug.

Arthur the Cat: Are you working for Stefano? Is he paying you with premium cat food and catnip-scented mice to report on the bedtime adventures of Jordan and Chad?

Eric: Get off Nicole's case. Why shouldn't she be a little curious about some woman who shows up and gets chummy with you right off the bat. Also, stay out of the park. The squirrels don't need your sour puss taking the edge off their day.

Maxine: You too should drop the attitude with Nicole, and realize that the really bad news women at the hospital are Prissy Jenny, Ms. Perfect, and Nurse Betty Boop.

Rory: Good to hear that you probably passed your finals. As for Eve, you couldn't begin to imagine why she hates JJ.
 
LOL, forgot all about Rory visiting JJ, who told him that he & Paige were still together, though no one knows or can know. JJ really needs to talk to someone about why Eve is so adamant about keeping him & Paige apart, and seems itching to tell Rory. (and good for Rory for getting a passing grade in his finals)
 
There were some funny things on today's show.

Victor called Clyde hayseed. I haven't heard that before.
Jordan and Kate both said hillbilly.

I laughed when Clyde told Victor some of his employees put Victor
down on their resumes. And some told him what Victor used to do.
At least, Victor figured out right after EJ died, Clyde took over.

Do you think Eric and Serena will come by for dinner
when Nicole is still there :)

I think I saw a dusting of snow here and there when Daniel and Eric
were in the park. I wonder why they wear don't hats and gloves in
Salem when it's cold.

Nice to see Kim on today's show. It was funny when the doctor
mentioned to Eve Kim was her mother. I don't what is worse, what
Eve is doing to keep Paige in LA or that Paige will believe the story
Shane is sick and she has to stay?
 
Watched the whole episode without fast forwarding! Hopefully some suit somewhere notices that I watch when Melanie is not on!!

Abigail Horton. Victor Keriakis. OY Stefano's slipping. Really tired of these one-shots of him in limbo.

Eve, stay in California with your boring daughter. Nice to see Kim again.

I can't really care about Jordan or Kate's pointless intercessions in her life...but their verbal sparring was on point today. If only Dummy Jordan would mention that Clyde raped and beat her, so it could start soaking in to Kate's man-hungry pea-brain...!!

Eric: Please die, quickly. What Nicole does is none of your business.

Nicole: Don't get mad at Eric and even with Dr McSleaze.

Maxine: Lose the 'tude. I hope Nicole gets appointed to the board at the hospital just so Maxine can stop being such a b-word to her.

Meanwhile it's easy to get hired at Salem U Hospital, but you need a résumé to get a job as a drug pusher? ONLY IN SALEM...
 
Today was a new low in the storied history of Salem P.D. incompetence. Rafe charges into the DiMansion all set to drop the hammer on Chad, and is apparently foiled within minutes by Stefano. It also seemed clear that Rafe's main motivation was not upholding law and order, but nailing the guy who's sleeping with his ex-girl friend. Meanwhile, Rafe appears to be oblivious to the fact that Salem is being flooded with drugs because of Clyde, something Victor learned in no time at all, and in the process connected the Poplar Bluff pervert to the death of Elvis. Join the club, Rafe, like many others before you, your character is being assassinated in the interest of "da plot." P.S., hey Victor, if you really want to get rid of Clyde without getting blood on your hands, just tell the Phoenix about what you've learned about Clyde and EJ's death. Country Clyde will be gone in a New York minute, which is a lot shorter than a Salem minute.
 
Interesting point. I wonder if Victor and Stefano will team up at some point to take down Clyde?

I tuned out most of this one but I'm really sick of Stefano being in the limbo set. It doesn't work! Either recast the character or kill him off.

I loved seeing Kim too but what was the point? She was on a total of 30 seconds in the first half of the show and then had that 1 scene with Paige. And the whole Eve thing is beyond words. I hope Paige finds out the truth pretty quickly.

Is Shane the next absentee husband/dad in Salem? :(

I'm glad that Nicole stood her ground and walked out. But I still think she and Eric are the end game. I'm wondering if Serena may be working for someone other than the hospital as well.

DrBakerFan great idea to have Victor and Stefano team. I hope
Stefano knows what Clyde did to EJ, he's supposed to know
everything that happens in Salem.

Poirot, since next week is a holiday week maybe you can
find volunteers to help you out with summaries before
next week starts :)
 
I loved Nicole telling Eric she was done. I hope she means it! And he is the one who needs to stay away from her, not the other way around.

Oh Rory... :love: Why is Anne Milbauer being given more depth than Salem's most loveable goofball? Though that comment he made about Eve was sleazy besides being a plot point, I'm glad whenever he shows up trying to be a good friend to JJ.

Nice to see Kim and I enjoyed her scene with Paige. Too bad Eve and her nonsense had to ruin it.
 
I was happy to see Rory as well.

I had a thought - what if Serena was somehow responsible for developing/helping to develop/whatever the drug that Chyka gave Kristen to use on Eric? Obviously not for that intended purpose - I just don't know what she's hiding, or why she's pretending she doesn't know who Nicole is.
 
That would be interesting, though I suppose if so it would be a catalyst for Eric realizing that Nicole has been on his side all along, and I want him far far far away from her. I also want to know what Serena is hiding. The other day when Eric was so happy to run into her, I thought, G-d help her when he discovers she's imperfect.

Maybe Eric's arc is discovering he's attracted to bad girls and pseudo-bad girls? In the last few months, it's been Nicole, Eve and Serena.
 
I don't think Eric was attracted to Eve, as she is the one who clearly and forcefully came on to him, insisting he join her in whatever it was she wanted. Whether at her home, or in the middle of the Square, she keeps insisting Eric join her.
