As for a nanny, where's the door-to-door cosmetics salesperson when you need one????
She's too busy having an affair with Shane Donovan!

For those not aware, Lonestar08mom is referring to the show The Nanny, whose main character was a door-to-door Avon-type lady. The widower she ended up being a nanny for was played by Charles Shaughnessy, the actor who played Shane Donovan.

I mean, Clyde would not know WHOSE DNA is being used. So how is Martin to "make sure". Of course, Clyde could give martin something from his son.....and tell Martin just to make sure THIS is the match. ????

Okay, so here's another thought, since Martin isn't supposed to know the two who's behind these samples, what if there is someone else in Salem having a paternity test and that child is now Ben Weston's child due to the "make sure they match"???? We could have a bunch of Ben Westons running around town.:rotfl::rotfl:

Okay, I apparently think more about this stupid storyline than the writers, so I'll slink back into my corner.

I don't know Jason, I personally think Clyde needs to become five percent more creepier. But absolutely no more then that.

Kudos to Will for refusing go along with Chad's plan to ambush Abigail. I mean the very idea that Will wouldparticipate in something so underhanded and manipulative. I was insulted on his behalf. The very nerve of some people.

On another note I just have to ask who the heck would listen to ANYTHING Will has to say when it comes to relationships?

It does seem that a lot of editing has been done, in order to begin to direct some things towards the new writers' intentions. This, of course, drags out stories we wish had ended last week.

I love Nicole's look.......but ......she has been in that same dress 4 or 5 viewing days now. Also, I note that Maggie's scenes seem forced.....as if she was put into various scenes but wasn't originally intended to be there.

And by the way......if Brady is claiming to be so swamped at work... can he BE there? And not at home. For heavens' sakes, Titan has to be full of assistants, people who look for files, put them back, etc. etc. If Brady is at home, what good is it?

Excellent points you all brought up about Clyde and the paternity test. I was trying to figure that out too. How does he know whose DNA they are testing? The only thing I can figure is maybe he's able to get out of the lab tech guy that the sample is from someone on file so therefore deduces it's Chad's. But I don't think even the tech knows that as Kayla made sure both the mother's sample and the test sample were anonymous. Otherwise, yes, you would think Clyde would assume Abigail got something of Ben's to use for the test. I like JS's idea that he gives the tech some of his own DNA to test against the sample and tells him to change it if necessary.

I really liked the scenes between Nicole and Eric today. He was so warm and genuine and seemed at peace with letting her go and be happy with Daniel. This is the Eric I have missed...the kind, considerate, decent man who follows his faith and allows it to guide his decisions. Wow, what a change from sour-puss-grumbles-a-lot. I can't believe Serena just told Daniel how she got the recording of Eric and he barely flinched. I would have grabbed the device out of her hands and then called Roman or John or Hope about it.

It was nice to see the caring Eric we love instead of the angry one who yells.

I'm glad Dopey.. oops Brady with Maggie's help decided to hire a nanny on
his own. It was interesting to learn Anne has other friends besides Theresa.

I wonder if it had made a difference if Nicole had told Daniel what happened
with her and Eric earlier. Instead, Daniel got the 'Reader's Digest' condensed
version of what happened that night.

I enjoyed Chad with Ari again.

I'm not sure how Clyde is going to figure out which sample is Abby's and Martin
can fix to show it's Ben's baby. Kayla did ask Martin if he would be alone
tomorrow, but Clyde's henchman didn't tell Clyde that. But it's Salem and we
all know how things work... or don't work there.

I assumed they were testing baby against Chad, if its not a match therefore then baby must be Ben's. I'm not sure how much Clyde knows - does he know Ben hasn't provided a blood sample? There's too many questions here. But Clyde's been pretty good at taking small amounts of information and using his Ewe-Search to come up with answers, so who knows.

I'm sorry but Nicole wanted Eric forever and I have never bought into the Daniel Nicole pairing. Why didn't Daniel question where Serina got a confessional recording :angry:Why would Daniel be surprised that two former lovers about to die wouldn't get close. Gosh the way people in this town fall in and out of love. Move it along please.

I'm going to throw this out there, just for kicks and giggles...what if the baby doesn't match Chad?

The assumption would be that it is Ben's child. But what then, if ultimately, the baby's DNA doesn't match Ben, either? Just an entertaining thought.

I think this episode had way too much Maggie in it. I usually can tolerate her but she was downright annoying me at a level of Daniel-like proportions. Why couldn't Marlena advise Brady? It's getting to be really easy to tell which scenes are from Tomlin/Whitesell and which ones are from Higley/Griffith.

Case in point the Eric/Nicole stuff, I think some parts are from the old regime and some are new. And this "confession" about the night is taking way too long to come out which means Daniel is on my screen for too many episodes and that makes me cranky. I LOVED the scenes with Eric and Caroline and it made me miss my grandma. I also like how Eric has people on his side (Caroline and Brady). Overall, I do think the show is doing a good job of a slow redemption of this character.

Maybe Jeannie T can escort her niece to Stanford and permanently relocate.
