Gloom, misery, despair today. John meets with Sonny at the Pub. Did not want to go to the apt. with Will there, as he wanted to talk to Sonny alone. Sonny says he slept in his office and was not at home. John figures Sonny knows Paul the best, and wants Sonny to tell him about Paul. Sonny says that when he asked Paul to marry him and Paul said no, he left, moved on. But when Paul showed up in Salem, he realized he still cares about him a lot.
Marlena arrives at Will's apt., learns Sonny did not come home last night, and has a very serious talk with Will. She asks why he told Will all that untrue stuff about Paul to John. Will, of course, tries to say he did not do that, but marlena will have none of that. Will is trying to whitewash his statements, she tells him that he is turning into his mother. Will doesn't understand, but Marlena says Sami would create situations and shove the blame on others, all the time. She tells Will that she loves him, but he needs to concentrate now on saving his marriage.
Xander & Serena have met at the bench in the park off the square. She wants to know why he is staying in town, he says he has family here. She asks what family, and though he flashes back to encountering Brady, he doesn't tell Serena. She thinks it is because of Nicole Walker, then tells of her being a journalist, but really just digging into people's pasts, warning him he could be next.
Melanie & Brady wake up in bed, he is getting a text from his dad, who wants to see him to explain something. It is important. Small talk about Brady, his dad, etc. He thinks he is not cut out to be a father himself, but if he is, he hopes he does a good job. They both get dressed, he leaves, she calls Greg as she wants the test results. Evidently he sent them, because later they arrive via messenger, or ??, as she has to sign for the "Express" envelope.
Daniel & Maggie sit in the square chatting, Daniel spots Nicole, invites her over. Theresa arrives with Eric, who left his wallet in the car, leaves, will be back.Theresa spots the trio, saunters over, calling them the gleesome threesome. She immediately starts her digs, talking of Nicole's hot date, how she has moved on, blah, blah. Nicole states it was only a cup of coffee. Daniel (who is in scrubs) takes Theresa aside to talk privately, asking why she has to do this, she started it last night, and now again? Eric has returned, overhears some of the conversation, then comes out from behind a fake bush, and takes Theresa away for coffee somewhere else.LOL
They are at the Pub, he is asking her what was going on, she plays "poor me", just conversation, asking Nicole about her really hot date (describing the guy). Eric is not too happy about her remarks, but Theresa says she doesn't care what people think of her, or how she talks. He says "fine", gets up and leaves. Along comes Brady who has seen this, he sits down, and asks her why she is so hateful to everyone? That ever since she came to town she has been like that to everyone, even those who care about her. She claims no one care about her, name one. He names himself. That despite the drugs & drinking he cared, but while he has straightened up, following a better path now, she just is hateful, insulting to everyone, rather disgusting. She claims she doesn't care what he says, she only was with him for his money and body.....in that order. Brady leaves. Theresa gets up, goes to sit on a bench and begins to cry.
John runs into Marlena in the square, he is rather rude to her. She is trying to explain about how Will saw the pic of Tori by the lake, and assumed Stefano was the father of Paul. She told Will then it was Tori's decision to tell that, if true. John replies that evidently she thought the same way when she figured out that John himself was the father. Yes. He turns to leave, then turns back, plans to tell Belle & Brady himself, so please grant him the courtesy of keeping silent about this until he does. Off he goes.
Nicole comes to Daniel's office, he has to see a post-op patient. She pleads with him, says again it was just one cup of coffee, nothing else, she was mad, is tired of being mad, wants them to start anew. He still has to go see the patient, but stay here, he will be back. She sits in his chair, asking herself what she will say when he returns, then has a big daydream about confessing her moronic mistakes to him, listing a few, and Daniel forgiving her, when a voice calls her name. She snaps out of her reverie, it is Xander. She is having a fit, what is he doing there? In walks Daniel, Xander greets him, hello Daniel, long time. Cue Nicole looking puzzled.
Melanie opens the door to Serena, who is all set for their girl's fun day, she brought the video. Melanie's face falls, she forgot, but has to cancel. Now Maggie shows up, learns Daniel is not there, is about to leave, but Melanie wants her to stay. Sorry, Serena, will call you. Melanie sits with maggie, basically not saying much, except she loves Brady, and doesn't want to screw it all up.
Serena shows up at Eric's apt., blathering away about missing him, wanting her project to be over, is tired of it all, wants Eric to help her forget everything for a while. Kiss, kiss.
Sonny comes home, did not expect Will to be there, but guess the sitter could not come. Will wants to talk, Sonny doesn't. When Will asks why he did not come home, Sonny says he was alone, stayed in his office. Will says it probably wasn't comfortable. Sonny says he did not come home because he wanted to yell, to smash every single thing in that apartment, that is how angry he is, how mad he is. He is talking quietly, but is obviously still mad. Will insists they have to talk, NOT NOW replies Sonny. Well, when, persists Will. Sonny turns, NOT NOW, and goes into his room.
John shows up at Paul's room, about to knock. The cleaning lady asks if he is looking for Mr. Narita, is he in? She replies that both Mr. Narita and his mother checked out first thing this morning.
Melanie opens the envelope, takes out a sheet of paper, tells herself that Theresa WAS pregnant, wonders what Mandrake & Clint have to do with this. She answers the door to find Brady there. She says she has something to tell him about him and Theresa.
And all throughout the show there are various shots of a baby in a crib, of Mandrake coming to report that he will be getting results from his office soon, he will continue to make sure Kristen is the mother, & the baby happy & healthy, of a hand patting the baby blanket. And finally, at the very end, the baby is picked up, and is lovingly cradled by Kristen DiMera.
