Days of our Lives

The Grand Jury has convened to determine whether Kristen goes to trial, while all over Salem, little scenarios fill the minutes ticking by. Paige informs her mother she knows she sent Theresa over to babble, Eve claims she will call Theresa to set her straight, but Paige is on to her. She informs her Mom that Stanford Admissions called to make sure she really wants them to hold her spot, and let her know her mother had called to say she might change her mind. Paige told them firmly she is not coming this year, and tells her mom she wants to stay just to be there for her mom and this law suit. She wants to support her, she loves her. Eve seems disconcerted by this, but as soon as paige leaves, she is again on the phone to Stanford, trying to claim that Paige really isn't sure..but Stanford says they will only talk to Paige.
Now Eve's lawyer calls, evidently needs more money for discovery or something, that this is a difficult case to present.

Daniel is at the Kmansion, playing with Parker, Brady comes in, they talk a bit, Brady thanking Daniel for bringing Kristen in. Maggie & Victor return from their trip, hugs and glad handing all around. Maggie gets very emotional over seeing Daniel, doesn't want to let him go, carries on a bit. (Gee, and never gives her daughters a second thought!). Small talk, Daniel leaves to take Parker to the park for some fun time. Brady & Victor have talked, mostly about Kristen returning. Maggie comes back as Brady talks of how he almost went charging over to the cop shop, but Marlena talked him out of it, and he went to a meeting instead. And now he is late for another. He leaves. Maggie & Victor chat, she tells him Daniel asked her to support Jen with Eve, & Vic asks if she wants to go ahead with what they talked about last night. Yes.

Hope meets up with Aiden, chides him about the "dating Jennifer" thing which she knows he did on purpose. He admits it, says it was for her. Awkward conversation follows, as he says something about not wanting to be in a relationship, and that she is a married woman, and she doesn't either, warning him that one dance does not mean anything. She sits down, taking off her jacket as both are agreeing about not wanting any sort of thing (all this truly is stilted and awkward) then he says he has some calls and business, can't have lunch and leaves, as she also is babbling about meetings and work. He leaves, sees thru the window her putting back on the jacket she just took off as she sat down.

A cop puts a handcuffed Kristen into a room, saying her lawyer will be there, but instead Nicole arrives. They trade insults, Nicole just testified to how Kristen drugged and raped Eric, and rips Kristen as to how she used eric, and all he suffered afterwards. Kristen reminds her Eric could have been cleared long ago, but wasn't, and whose fault is that?

JJ & Rory are still in the square, talking of the party, but JJ is not that person anymore. Rory tells him he will always be that person he used to be, no matter what.

Daniel is in the park with Parker, having brought a bat, ball, blanket, etc. Paige comes upon them, small talk, as then JJ arrives. More small talk, Daniel gets a page to come to the hospital, Paige volunteers to babysit, JJ will help, be glad to. Dan leaves, the young people talk. JJ remembers how he had to babysit Parker once, did not pay much attention, Parker climbed up on something, could have fallen and really hurt himself. JJ thinks about this all the time. Paige asks why he did not tell her this before, he was afraid she'd not want to see him anymore if he did, adding to "the list". She is not going anywhere, don't worry.

Eric is going thru old pics, as the district attorney wants one with him in full priest attire. He finds one, then fantasizes about seeing pics of him and Nicole kissing, and in bed, and then her being there and them kissing. He returns to reality and goes downstairs, finding Daniel getting coffee before heading to the hospital. Daniel starts talking of Eric being cleared and going back to the priesthood, Eric tells him of going to Rome, the Cardinal clearing him, but he refused to return. Daniel asks why, Eric is silent, Dan asks if it is Nicole, is Eric in love with her.

Aiden arrives at Jennifer's, apologizing for the problem with them going to that play, says he will make new arrangements, but.....Jen says it closed now. So, they get down to business and the lawsuit, when Maggie arrives, wants to talk to them about that. Seems she & Victor talked, came up with a solution, they will give Eve some money, the lawsuit could be settled and the proceeds will go as Jack wanted. Jen is reluctant, but thanks Maggie, only she has another paper for Aiden to draw up, insurance policy of sorts.

Kristen is waiting outside the courtroom, but the Grand Jury still has one more witness. No she doesn't want to go in. ERic arrives, each staring at the other.

Nicole arrives at the hospital, spies Daniel and goes to say hello. He basically is ignoring her and not answering, going thru files. She tells of testifying, and is glad that Kristen is going to get what is coming to her. She finally asks if she is getting the silent treatment, and why. Daniel turns and asks what she has done to Eric now.

Eve opens the door to Aiden & Jennifer, who have an offer for her. They hand her a legal document of some kind, Eve glances at it, figures there has to be a hitch. Jen agrees, there is, she has to read it now, get with her lawyer now, and sign it now, today. Eve can't believe she doesn't have time to digest this all. Nope, replies Jen. You refused my previous offer, and then regretted it. I don't think you want to make the same mistake.

With the way Maggie was gushing over Humpty Dumpty (Daniel), I'm wondering if there were scenes that were cut over the last couple of weeks.

Remember when Shawn Christian (Daniel) did an interview recently and said everyone in Salem starts to worry about him, and Maggie is frantic because she hadn't heard from him in too long? The closest we got was the day he took Kristen to the police station, Maggie mentioned to someone (Brady?) that Daniel was out of town for a medical conference and she hadn't talked to him.

Yep, kept wondering about her being so "frantic".....but then we have seen these misleading spoilers before. And being that these shows were filmed 5-6 months ago, edited, etc. we should not be seeing late editing.
If Maggie was so very worried, why go on that trip?
Maybe this is what happens when Days films 2-4 shows, then puts bits and pieces of each one into several shows, so nothing seems to really make sense, and that includes TIME.
If Nicole had already testified, then Eric should have already been waiting at the courthouse to be called in, as would be anyone else who was summoned to testify.

I don't think Maggie knew anything until after Daniel was home. She's upset now thinking about what could have happened.

I enjoyed today's show although I hope that's the last we see of Marybeth. I was, however, beyond thrilled that Parker acted like a 4 year old and not a 2 year old today. The scenes with JJ, Parker and Paige were cute, and I thought it was funny that in Salem time Abby and Ben are babysitting Ari at the same time. However if Daniel was paged on his day off it must be a big emergency--there shouldn't be time to get coffee at Brady's Pub or Club TBD, whichever it was, before he goes in. However I am always happy with JJ/Daniel scenes.

I think it's silly that Paige always acts shocked that there's something in JJ's past she doesn't know about. NOBODY, and I mean NOBODY, tells a new partner everything they've done in their entire life prior to meeting on the first date. Part of being in a relationship involves learning new things about each other, including each other's pasts, over time. JJ isn't doing anything wrong by not making a list of everything he's ever done that he's ashamed of.

Eve is becoming more and more annoying with her meddling into Paige's academic career. Apparently she's drunk the Salem water and is now a card carrying member of the Meddling Mother Club. :(

I wish TPTB would stop writing Daniel all out of character when it comes to Nicole. When he said to Kristen, "Nicole did what she did out of love," that's what he really feels. He seems to have caught a fake anger bug from Eric.

But Shawn Christian (Daniel) did that interview and specifically talked about how frantic his friends/family were, particularly Maggie, not knowing where he was and why they couldn't get in touch with him for so long. It really seems like they taped scenes that were cut since Maggie is pretty over-the-top today with her gushing.

Ditto, Heroic Muse, I was thinking the same thing. Things come up as we get to know someone, but who has a running list of everything he/she has done, good or bad? Too funny, lol.

Good point. If Salemites decided to immediately tell their life stories to a new love interest, that person would either sit there thinking: "When will this end?" or decide on the spot that they're dealing with seriously damaged goods. And yes, the doting egg-mommy was in fine form today. It's a good thing that Dr. McScruffy works in an O.R. and not on the mean streets of Salem as one of Roman's cops. If he did, the red-haired cookie baker would have a nervous breakdown from the constant worrying. Finally, when will poor Nicole and the rest of Salem ever learn that it's a complete waste of time to confront Kristen? Any epithets just roll over her like water off a duck's back and she gives far better than she gets.

Well, the character likely has an extremely exaggerated sense of self-worth and his importance to the people of Salem which is why the actor spoke about the frantic friends and family. Oh wait - I'm wrong - the writers and the character and the staff, and the cast and the powers that be DO think he's this worthy and important. Never mind.

edited to fix quote....JS

I'm just not a fan of Nicole's hair. I don't know if it's just the way they style it or the actual cut.

I agree about the spoilers not really matching up to what has happened onscreen. Another thing that has me wondering about the whole Daniel/Kristen thing was in that one spoiler article it said something about Daniel being a doctor and therefore having to adhere to the hippocratic (sp?) oath or whatever. That made it seem like Kristen was injured and Daniel had to tend to her as a doctor. That never happened. He roughed her up pretty good. Apparently that "do no harm" thing went out the window when dealing with a crazy nutburger like Kristen. The only thing I can think is that article referenced Daniel using the first aid kit while they were in the truck to tend to her wrist wounds? Stupid.

Blah, blah, blah to everything JJ/Paige/Marybeth/Rory/Eve/Jennifer. BORING.

I see Hope and Aiden continue to dance the dance. Please move things forward already!

Overall, this episode was pretty lackluster.

Ah okay, I didn't see that interview. Do you or anyone else happen to have a link to it?

What a boring episode. This week is off to a slow start.
So sick to death of Mary Beth always sticking up her nose at JJ and Rory. It's no wonder Rory hates Paige and thinks she believes she is all that, since Paige keeps hanging around her. I think both Paige and JJ need to find new friends.

Nicole's confrontation with Kristen was lackluster. It looked like it was about to get good but the cops just had to come in and ruin it...

Boring scenes with Eric, until the end. Why isn't he really telling anybody he isn't being a priest anymore right away? Or giving reasons? His talk with Jennifer today was so short and pointless. And him telling Daniel he hates Nicole. I wish someone would tell him you can't just go from loving someone to hating someone in a few days--even in Salem. Marlena started to say it but then Nicole walked by and interrupted.

The rest of the show was so slow. I could just barely stay awake (I woke up early this morning). Daniel acting all self-righteous to Nicole and Maggie doting over her eggbaby annoyed me to no end.

...sigh... here we go again. Could you please give me a specific instance where Daniel bragged about himself or acted like he was super important to the people of Salem? I've heard him say that he's just doing his job, doesn't do anything special, etc lots of times. In the scenario with Kristen I've heard him say a couple of times that he felt he had no choice but to do what he did.

I do think the writers & the suits upstairs have a "thing" for the character of Daniel, or maybe the actor, I don't know. But this nice doctor, who loved to surf, became quite the ladies man, quite the heroic medical genius, savior of humanity, specialist in all areas of medicine, whether research, surgery, diseases, or finding formulas that will help or cure some disease or medical problem.......and then was turned into detective, macho man, adventurer, soldier of fortune. Most viewers have noticed, commented, etc.

I don't know about the actor himself, or how the rest of the cast view the character.

I don't have a problem with Daniel, I just do not understand why he is always written as the hero. He is a surgeon, his place is with all things medical. He should have been a consultant on Eric's case, nothing more. It isn't his place to chase Kristen and her goons down.

Nor was it Kristen's place to kidnap Daniel to try to get to Brady--Daniel reacted to that situation by doing something about it instead of sitting around hoping someone would eventually rescue him (which, among other things, would have been extremely boring.) He didn't go to St. Louis to chase Kristen and her goons. He went to St. Louis to present papers at a medical conference. While I could have done without this story altogether, it wasn't a story about someone chasing Kristen--it was about Kristen causing trouble with someone whose strength she underestimated.

I have to add....when is Paige going to fess up to anything bad she has ever done? Or, is she perfect? Duh
Interesting point. Abigail seemed like Ms. Perfect, but her resume included: stalking Austin, attempting to seduce the clueless wonder while he was sliding into an alcoholic stupor, an affair with Chad, and then a few clandestine hook-ups with EJ, so who knows what skeletons might be rattling around in Paige's closet. However, the way the writers are portraying this character, probably the worst things she's ever done were copying somebody's homework in the eighth grade, returning a library book two days late, or when she was feeling particularly naughty, taking a few sips of whatever was in Eve's liquor cabinet.
