Is it really sweeps month? Because there is nothing exciting, wonderful, heartfelt or romantic going on. And what IS going on is being dragged out and a lot of use of “filler” scenes. O.K. I know some enjoy all of this, so here goes. Madison is in her hotel room, gets a text message to open her door. She does, with a handy dandy vase in case it is some bad guy, but tis Brady, hiding against the wall, come to tell her again he loves her, and take her out for a fun night at the very empty Horton Town Square. Yep, empty as can be, as he has two electric scooters awaiting them, they have a blast riding around. He remembered how she said she had no time to be a kid growing up, with her mom sick and all, so he thought one night of “being a kid” might be fun. It was. Kiss, kiss, they leave under the arch, as a hand with a black leather glove parts the tree branches and watches.

John comes home early, wanting to spend time with his beautiful wife, soon Basic Black will be taking all his time, and he would rather be with her. He will cook her dinner, he says, as they cuddle on the sofa. She thinks they could just stay right there. But then she gets a call from Carrie, who is choking back tears, saying she made a huge mistake, is at the office, Marlena promises to be right over. When she gets there, Carrie tells all, including the kiss, and the spouses walking in. Marlena is asing a few questions, Carrie says she loves her husband, she does, but she has these feelings that sort of crept up on her, for Rafe. It started when she & Austin were on opposite sides of John in court, and Rafe was on John’s side like Carrie was. Marlena says Rafe was John’s first and staunchest supporter. Carrie knows she hurt Austin, certainly did not intend to do so. Marlena knows she & Austin were having problems, it was apparent at Sydney’s birthday party. She warns Carrie to think long and hard about what it is she wants. Reminds her both she & Austin, Rafe & Sami have very strong marriges. That they are married and raising children together. They talk further, with Marlena saying perhaps it is good for Carrie & Austin to spend some time apart, but again, to think long and hard, before she does something she might regret for the rest of her life.s

Abby is in Austin’s office, on the phone telling Gabi she has to work tonight. She hangs up, in comes a very drunk Austin (good job here) holding a half bottle of gin or vodka (it is clear liquid). Abby is surprised, concerned, wonders what happened. Austin talks about going out with his friend, the bottle, lol, but finally tells of his wife not being all she should be. Abby has talked him into giving her the bottle, is all concerned, listens, Austin talks of her being a good friend. Abby suddenly kisses him. He stops her, backs away, saying no, no, no. Abby keeps saying it is o.k. really, is is o.k, and then kisses him again.

Hope is flabbergasted at what she found inside the envelope that had been in the safety deposit box. Bo doesn’t believe it, thinks it is a trick. Evidently it is a wedding license showing Hope is married to John. Bo reminds Hope the date indicates this was when Stefano had her brainwashed into being Princess Gina, and John was brainwashed as well. Hope is very worried, Bo thinks it is a set up Stefano wanted to use for leverage at some point. He has taken the license, thrown it to the side, telling Hope she is his wife, always will be. They hug tightly. Now Hope feels they have to tell John & Marlena, Bo doesn’t want to do so, but agrees and off they go. They tell John the whole story, he is feeling Stefano has set it all up, too. Then Hope hands him the envelope, wishing Marlena was there, too. John opens and reads, is shocked, asks if they believe this. They don’t know. Hope doesn’t remember, they all figure they will have to investigate to see if it is authentic. John figures if it is true, they just get it annulled, each marries their spouse, and all is well.

Over at the loft, Sami & Rafe are still arguing. Rafe probably says how sorry he is a dozen times. Sami is tight lipped. She accuses, he defends, sort of. He says there was a void between them for some time, they were not connecting, and brings up her rush to do the vow renewal. Like she was trying to fix something. She denies this is her fault, he wanted to do the renewal too. He says it all started really when Johnny disappeared, and she blamed him. After he was found safe and sound, she just was different. Sami claims she thought her son was dead.It changed her. Rafe doesn’t mean that, that things changed between them. That tho she blamed him, and he apologized and she forgave him, he wonders if she really did. Sami’s face shows us the guilt she is keeping bottled up, and now she flashes back to Will exploding at her as he tells her he saw her having sex with EJ.
Rafe keeps talking of wanting to fix things between them, Sami doesn’t answer. Sami has erected a wall and won’t come out from behind it. Rafe says he will leave if she wants him to, but will stay if she wants to talk. Still silent. Now Rafe comes out with a small bag, he has packed what he thinks he will need. Sami stands at the window, arms folded, looking out. Rafe says he will return for the rest of his things later. He goes to the door, but first says he is sorry, he loves her, and always will. Rafe leaves. Sami cries.
