Hard to watch when the show drags in places, but...Aiden is in his office, telling his asst. how Clyde knew about him picking up his son, and he does not want his personal life discussed with clients. She promises it won't happen again, he calls Clyde to come in to sign papers, & he wants to talk to him about something. Hope comes in, just a quick visit, she is sorry about Clyde, doesn't want him coming between them. Aiden says he is dropping him as a client, she tells him not to do so, she was just overreacting.

Kate runs into Clyde in the square, they sit and chat a bit, she gives him a copy of Sonix with his picture on the cover, but she gets an e-mail to go meet someone, and runs off.

Rafe is sitting with Justin, who very nicely gives him a hard time for checking on Clyde after Victor told him to lay off. He warns Rafe to toe the line. Rafe agrees, meets up later with Hope, they talk over these meetings, agreeing between them that Clyde had to be responsible for stabbing Sonny, but they have no proof. They both decide to lay low, let Clyde get overconfident, as he WILL slip up somewhere, and then they will have him.
Clyde, meanwhile, gets a report from Stan about Hope visiting Aiden just a short while, and has left. Keep me posted replies Clyde.

Clyde meets with Aiden, looks over, signs the papers. Aiden decides not to drop him, so instead mentions setting up a charity trust for his donations. Clyde knew he chose the best lawyer in town, he leaves.

Kate meets up with Justin, shows him the quarter sales figures, which show a marked improvement, but he only notes they could only go up after she lost their best designer and distributor. They go back & forth, Justin has an idea about appealing to men, has a good idea for the spokesperson, shows her a pic of Paul. She says no, he touts all the positive reasons Paul would be good, she starts in about Justin trying to do this because of Lucas & Adrienne, so wants to hurt Will & Sonny. Justin thinks Will is doing that quite well all by himself. They go back and forth, she refuses adamantly, gets up to leave, he asks if she is quitting...and after all the trouble she went through to boot out her own son, and take his job...but then, perhaps she just intends to rest a while and let her sugar daddy, Clyde take care of her. She begins to leave in a huff, but returns, grabbing the pic of Paul, and takes off.

Daniel & Maggie are talking at the Kmansion, she suddenly nearly keels over, he checks her, she claims had not eaten all day, tis nothing, Daniel insists on taking her to the hospital, run tests, yada, yada. She really turns out to be fine, & after hovering a bit, she is released, they go see Baby Tate, moon a bit about him, Maggie cannot wait to have him come home.

Eric is demanding answers from Serena about the elephant, she is reluctant, he is very angry, she finally agrees to tell him all, & proceeds to talk of being lonely after Eric decided to become a priest, meeting Xander, he was exciting, blah, blah. He talked her into the diamond deal, and somehow, when she was helping Eric pack up, her elephant got switched with his, they did not realize it til much later. She stayed with Xander for a month after Eric left, saw what he was really like, could not wait to leave. Two men were flirting with her in some club, both were beaten up badly, and she saw Xander's temper, and what he was capable of doing. When the time came at last for them to get the diamonds out to sell, she figured out what happened. And now Eric is really bitter, at how she came to Salem only for the elephant, pretending she loved him. She claims she did, but he is having none of it. She tries to warn him to keep away from Xander, but he is furious, and takes off.

In her office, Nicole is surprised to see Xander, who plays a cat and mouse game with Nicole. She tries to explain about having to meet fellow employees about a story they are running, but he is acting all nice and sweet. She is starting to get a bit nervous, and cautious, takes Daniel's call explaining about Maggie, taking her to hospital. She hangs up, tells Xander it was Sally, her asst. But, Xander saw the caller I.D., knows it was Daniel, starts getting hostile. She has already wondered how he got into the building, he claims the guard was back. But now he admits he was lying, there is no guard. He begins to get threatenings, she reaches behind her, her hand finds the stapler I think, but Xander knocks it out of her hand, they struggle, and now his fingers are around her neck, he is choking her. She is pleading "why are you doing this" as he squeezes even harder.

Oh good, more violence. Feels like I'm watching GH, sad-LOL.

Seriously though I'm hoping this elephant story is over by the end of the week!!

I like the scene of Rafe & Justin, nice mixing up of the characters. That is one thing these writers do somewhat well.

Kate...please, please, go help Carrie/Austin with toddler-no-name, PLEASE!!!

Now I get it...Eric was still around when Serena/Xander started their little fling, but he had given himself to the priesthood. That does make some sense. But this whole Xander story is soooooo ridiculous. And sadly, as much as I wanted to like Serena (because I've been a fan of the actress and had wanted her on Days since OLTL was cancelled), the writers really gave us no indication as to her true motives. She never had a genuine conversation with anyone, and spent most of her time trash-talking Nicole (a favourite of mine). Not the way to endear a character. Failing a convo with someone else, she could have had some thinks or self-talk, but only did so about Fred/the elephant/not hurting Eric.

Too much to hope the new writers bring her on as a different character? LOL

They really do seem to be stretching things out. I expected Eric to show up at Nicole's office to rescue her by the end of the episode but Eric and Serena just kept talking and Nicole and Xander kept talking. And then the filler with Daniel and Maggie nearly put me to sleep. I did like the Rafe/Justin scenes as well as Kate/Justin. Looks like Justin is really taking his new role seriously. LOL. Either that or Uncle Vic really lit a fire under his rear about it. Haha. I like the idea of hiring Paul for the men's line at Mad World if only for the fact that it ticks Kate off. I hope Justin keeps going at Kate as her boss. Maybe she'll get fed up and quit. Serve her right for what she did to Lucas. Finally, I hope there is a swift ending to Clyde soon because I'm losing patience in this character and the story. The actor is great and all but I'm done.

Amidst today's filler-filled dragathon, there were a few nuggets of conversation worth noting.

1) Eric: "Nothing justifies lying to people you love." Sorry, Eric, but lying to people you love is a way of life in Salem. If you don't like it, you're in the wrong town.

2) Eric: "You couldn't wait until I was gone." Again, sorry Eric, but that just didn't apply to Bluebird. Days viewers being unable to wait until you're off-screen is a very common phenomenon.

3) Kate: "My grandson is a brilliant writer." Please, Kate, let's not be delusional here. Pay attention. Will is a no-talent hack. That's hack, H-A-C-K, hack.

I'm so disappointed in this episode. Rarely is there an episode full of characters I like where I just cannot follow along.

Serena: Too little too late. Viewers should have gotten a glimpse into her motivations and her connection to Xander MONTHS ago. So, spending an entire episode alternating between crocodile tears and whispering to Eric does nothing for me. I could understand the affair piece but I still don't understand the criminal piece of it.

Eric: Really great acting by Greg Vaughan (Eric) so far this week.

Xander/Nicole: Now that I've read the summary here, I understand why Xander was so violent in the scenes. Per Serena, he was exhibiting his jealously streak. Just as sudden as Liam? Yes. But it makes more sense than him hurting Nicole for anything else at this point because he doesn't really know how much she knows and she doesn't know about the diamonds.

I too was surprised Eric didn't rescue her at the end. I suspect at least the first 15 minutes tomorrow will be them still fighting as Eric will need to look for Xander.

Daniel/Maggie: What?!? Fast forwarded everything! So annoying and unnecessary!

I'm tired of people having isolated conversations in booths.

Can we start a crowdfund to buy Kate a one way plane ticket out of Salem?

I suppose as we wind down or finish up a couple stories, we just are going to be subject to a lot of these "filler" scenes. Like Caroline bringing fresh baked cookies to Serena. Maggie having a bit of a spell, with Daniel doing the whole "hover" bit. She was home, with a cook. She could not get a quick sandwich, cheese & crackers, a fast bowl of cereal. Instead she has to exchange small talk, then claim she has been soooo very busy she did not eat all day.?? She skips, breakfast, lunch, and is home, not even a cup of tea? GIVE ME A BREAK.That is all, just filler. Plus the strettttttccccchhhhing out of conversations. Clyde & Aiden. Serena & Eric. I mean, Eric had already figured out most of it. It took forever for Serena to spit out how she hooked up with Xander after Eric decided to become a priest, eventually getting into something illegal, a mixup in the elephants, etc. Could have been done in less than 2 minutes.
Ahhh, well. We DO have to stretch it all out.
Wednesday will be the same day in Salem, the same hour or two, while we viewers will be in our 3rd day, 72nd hour. LOL

I'm still amazed that Eric was able to become a priest in a month or two. Geez, if my cousin had known how to do that, he could've skipped all those years at seminary. :rotfl:

Is this a foreshadowing of the writers revisiting Maggie having MS (multiple sclerosis) ? I still remember Mickey Horton meeting Maggie Simmons all of those years ago .

It seems that some time ago, when Eric first came to Salem as a priest, sister Sami reminded him that when she went to visit Gramma Evans, and found out he was in the seminary there, she never told anyone, and she indicated it was several years ago???? Oh, well.
Daniel DID say to Maggie that he wanted to especially check on her thoroughly, because of her history.

Today was mostly boring.

I enjoyed Justin and Kate bickering, that was kind of fun.

Xander played the Misty Circle card at Nicole, which is what, the third or 4th reference this year? Foreshadowing or lazy writing?

Maggie at the hospital was stupid. She must have awesome insurance, doesn't it cost like ten grand just to walk through the emergency room doors in the US? Here if you turned up at Emergency with low blood sugar it'd be free but they'd roll their eyes at you and it'd be a 5 hour wait. It'd be quicker to go buy some jelly beans from the vending machine. Shouldn't she have just gone to see her GP if it happened again? Just stupid.

I'm glad we know the whole story about Serena and the elephants. Too
bad no one cares now.

Kate had a funny line to Clyde about text she got. Clyde thought
from Victor. She said no it was his mini me.... Justin :)

Will Rafe and Hope leave Clyde alone now? I wonder how much Justin
knows about Clyde since he was Victor's messenger.

Xander called Nicole, Misty Circle.

Its not that bad here, I can usually get a GP appointment for the same week, especially for the kids.

Paediatrician though, forget it. 8 weeks is the minimum I've waited. Actually any specialist has a stupid wait time.

:OT: After suffering for several days, I had a CT scan on Thursday that showed three large pockets of fluid in my abdomen. My doctor called that afternoon and said I needed to get to the hospital immediately to have it drained and a pump/tube implanted. I've had this done several times after surgeries. It is Tuesday night and I'm still waiting to hear from Melissa at the hospital, so I will know when the procedure is. She doesn't return her calls and, obviously, doesn't do her job. Wellstar/Kennestone Hospital is a huge facility and I find it appalling that this woman has that much power. In the meantime, I have abdominal pain and the worry that the fluid is infected. :back:
