My goodness, I don't think he has a single word of dialogue, but Christopher Sean as Paul can do more with expressions then any dialogue he would have been given. Kudos. John and Marlena are at the Pub, relaxing, having a drink, toasting Brady being on the recovery path. They missed each other, he hated being away so long, but when it came to his family, nothing would keep him away. He begins talking of perhaps getting back on the path to having their wedding....wondering if she is still game, despite him leaving her for long periods. Of course. He gets a call, ISA, begins arguing with "Pamela". He says his son was in a bad way, yes is better, but not out of the woods yet. He is yelling at her, their call evidently disconnects.

He sits with Marlena, the ISA is sending a private jet for him within an hour. He gets a call from Rafe to update him on the missing plane, but John knows nothing of it. He fills John in, who realizes Paul is aboard. When he hangs up, he tells Marlena that he is going to look for the plane and passengers, and is telling the ISA that no mission of theirs is more important than his family. She insists she is going with him, he says no, she says nothing will stop her, she is going. They grab their things and are out the door.

Abby arrives at the cop shop, greeting Hope, they both exchange worried comments about the plane's passengers. Hope expresses her concern for Chad, Abby tells her she has filed for divorce and is getting married to Dario (but not why). Hope is surprised, gently questions Abby, yes, her mother knows, Chad is with Gabi, yada, yada, yada. Abby doesn't want to talk of it any further, leaves.

Meanwhile, Rafe is with Dario, who is blaming Chad for the plane being missing, Gabi being on it, and everything under the sun. Rafe tries to talk sense, Dario in no mood to hear it.

Hope gets a call, is informed of something, evidently Myron has bought a classy, very expensive new car, she wonders how the employee of a new, struggling company could afford it. She visits Rafe, just to say she is going to interview a witness. (Dario is there). She takes off, goes to the club. sits at the bar, where Myron is sitting on his laptop. She jabbers casually, complimenting him on his suit, and commenting on the jazzy car out front parked in his spot. He is pleased, always wanted one, she figures he must be paid well, he brags on being the best IT guy, she wonders what that is. He explains a bit, she talks of GDR, he finally gets a bit nervous, tells her to talk to Dario, and leaves. She goes back to the P.D., doesn't explain to Rafe who she saw, but sees how worried he is, "think positive thoughts", gives him a hug.

Dario finds Abby in the park, she has had one or two flashbacks of her and Chad, he asks a few questions, she admits thinking about him, and her last conversation, telling him she was filing for divorce. She is upset that his last thoughts of her are those. Dario figures she is rethinking everything, perhaps not wanting to get divorced after all. Abby doesn't answer, a tear in her eye.

Over on the island of doom, Paul is staring at the knife, Sonny wonders what is wrong, tells him to stop looking at the knife, then takes it away, he will clean the fish instead. Chad & Gabi chatter about the situation, JJ & Lani join them, they talk of Eli not returning yet, Sonny & Paul join them. All are eating, jabbering, Paul staring at this one or that one. Paul sees the knife laying on a rock in front of him, furtively takes it, puts it in his belt knife holder. They all are getting worried about Eli, been gone way too long, decide to go look for him. Everyone takes off with their flashlights, except Gabi, as we hear wolf calls, other animal roars.... LOL (sorry, the scene was just funny to me, no one with any sort of weapon and they all just stand there)

Being alone, she decides to peek into Chad's bag, finds the amulet, gets mad, is about to throw it away, decides against it, Chad would never forgive her, the money so important.

Behind her, Paul has circled back, is staring at her from behind a huge boulder. Gabi puts the amulet back, zips up the case, Paul picks up a large rock, smacks her on the head from behind and takes off.

Chad returns, thinks she is sleeping, sits down beside her, talking, strokes her head, coming up with blood. He yells for JJ & Lani, they come rushing back, along with Sonny, all working a bit on Gabi, who comes to, doesn't know what happened, her head hurts. They figure she had to have been attacked, who could it be. Paul is there now, as well. As they talk, Eli appears, a cloth wrapped around his upper arm. He hollars at Paul, calls him names, goes to attack him, everyone is breaking it all up, Paul runs off.

Eli says Paul attacked him. He was working on the radio, suddenly Paul was choking him, he fought him off, Paul smashed the radio, then attacked him with the knife.

Lani says jungle madness, Sonny is puzzled as is Eli, JJ & Lani explain about finding the skull & diary, how Kyle became violent, killed the doctor who came to save him, and they think also killed his wife. And how did he get it...was bitten by a mosquito. Sonny says he thought he noticed a mosquito bite on Paul's neck.

Now they all are worried, they are going to have to contain Paul, or he might kill them all. Sonny is heartsick, but they will have to contain Paul securely. Eli emphatically notes that Paul might not stay contained, that he is like the Hulk, is very strong, and they are all at risk. Cue Sonny looking heartsick.

Gosh, Paul looks so menacing, gives me shivers.

The actor is no stranger to playing a bad guy. He played Gabriel Waincroft on Hawaii Five-O. He was amazing, very menacing. Frankly, I'm glad that he has the chance to be seen more on Days. And the storyline doesn't bother me that much. I might be the only one though. I'll take the island stuff, and the suspense, over the teenage crowd and "pity poor me" Abigail anytime.

I was thinking the same thing about Paul as I watched - he was so convincing! I am glad he is getting more screen time and shame on me I giggled a little when Gabi got bonked.

I thought Hope looked good today and I am glad that she was questioning Abigail about the marriage.

Thanks for the summary. A good show! I'm relieved we've gotten another day of a break from the Deimos stuff. Glad to hear Paul is having more involvement. I really do enjoy the character. Hopefully this trend continues when everyone gets back to Salem. Also loved seeing Marlena & John.

The best part of the show was John and Marlena

I'm glad John finally figured out after all these years that family is more important
than the ISA. Will he and Marlena both save the day and find the castaways?

Myron knows how to steal money, but he's not very smart since he's showing
off his new car and clothes.

Anyone else wonder why the dishes weren't broken during the plane crash?

I wonder how many animals are on the island? We know about the goat. Today
we heard
a wolf and something else.

Over on the island of doom
I'm glad my name caught on, LOL.

The island sounds like a bore today, but way to go Marlena! You stand strong and look for that kid!

However...I can't keep track of when John is in, and out of the ISA. I thought he left to start Black Patch, and in bad accord as well?

I can just imagine Sami saying "oh sure, mom and John, it's always John's sons this and John's sons that. What about meeeeee???? Still hate you John Black doodoo head!"

The island scene seems more and more like a bad parody of Gilligan's Island, but does present a few possibilities.

1) Sonny and "Frowny Face" Paul have remained clean shaven. In a future TV ad, a cured Paul could say: "Hi, this is former baseball star Paul Narita. While stranded recently on a disease-infested island, I was able to remain clean shaven with my trusty Gillette Fusion 5 razor. Get one today."

2) The castaways eat off china. At the mansion after Sonny's rescue, Victor is ranting about how he wrecked the family jet. Sonny replies: "Yes, it's wrecked but at least the china is still in good shape."

Elsewhere, will Abigail please shut up about why she left Chad. Doesn't she get tired of listening to herself? Finally, kudos to John for finally realizing that family comes before his inane ISA missions. How much of his life has he wasted with this group of pseudo secret agents?

Evidently, the ISA contacted John at some point, begged him to take on this covert mission. I will say that "the ISA" is a convenient tool for writers to use to explain the absence of a character for extended periods of time. Was better than that really dumb thing about John going to New Orleans cuz his "mother" was sick. Guess they could not come up with enough Black Patch cases/reasons for John to not be around so a covert operation was the way to explain John being gone (while Drake Hogestyn/John. was recuperating, since they did not know how long that would be. One can see the show is being very careful and using John sparingly as he gets back into the swing of things)

Abby, you make me want to poke myself in the eye. Please just shut up.

Dario, GO AWAY. Your hovering and not being flipped out about Gabi is so contradictory.

These two needy people do not serve each other. They deserve to be alone till they get their heads on straight.

STOP THE INSANITY OF THIS STORYLINE. :tsk:

And secondly the ISA doesn't own John. Just walk away. Don't look back Life is precious and time is fleeting or something like that.

By taping Theo and Claire, the dim-witted NuJade has committed a crime. In New York, her effort could result in a charge of invasion of privacy in the second degree, which is a Class E felony. Since Nicole is probably going to get off lightly and Deimos appears to have escaped justice yet again, Raines and Melinda Trask could satisfy Salem law-and-order types by locking up NuJade. As for her tape, if was ever posted on the Internet, it would sink without a trace. The Web is awash in porn of all varieties and a poor-quality recording, shot from behind a potted plant, of the fumblings two unknown college students would probably get far fewer views than Claire's widely-ignored YouTube songs. Finally, just how does John propose to find Paul and friends? He can't possibly match the air-sea search abilities of local authorities. Is he going to paddle around the Aegean Sea asking fishermen if they've noticed any crashing planes or does he have ISA "contacts" in the Greek isles who live in beach shacks drinking wine and ouzo while waiting for suspicious events? Actually, John's best bet would be to locate Celeste and have her find clues by peering into a crystal ball.

Celeste: "I see an island, I see a
crashed plane, I see a man who
looks like the "Big Boy" hamburger
kid, I see Paul, and OMG, I sense
jungle madness!"

With so many out looking, seems odd that no one has zeroed in on the "black box" which is supposed to be sending signals????

However, I did read something, which I cannot mention since not a spoiler thread, that could have been cut.....or perhaps just has not been shown yet, so zipping my lip.
