Abby really goes off the deep end today while John, Marlena, Bo & Hope deal with the “license”. (I honest wish I could see exactly what that stupid thing actually says. LOL)
In his office, Austin is sound asleep on the sofa, as we see bare legs walking past him, stopping, and then get the full view of Abby, in her skivvies, making herself comfortable in the crook of the arm of the sleeping Austin. He stirs a bit, she is kissing his neck, cuddling in, waking Austin up completely as she purrs how wonderful it was last night. Austin sits up, sort of pushing her away, not understanding what is going on, but there is Abby babbling away about how she was glad to be there for him, will never forget last night. Austin sees the ¾ empty vodka bottle, asks if he drank all that. Oh, yes, but Abby did not mind. He has already asked her to put her clothes on, he is very embarrassed. But she continues, not really saying what transpired, but Austin assumes the worst, tries to tell her that he was drunk, and he is so sorry that he slept with her. Abby pauses, as if this is a new idea (egads, when you see her in only a bra and skimpy panties, lol) and goes with it. She just goes on and on, telling him how she has cared for him a long time, but she was his student and there was Carrie, but now, there is nothing that can stand in their way. Austin is taken aback, he is protesting. Finally he tries to tell her how it is, but Abby heads him off at the pass..suddenly grabbing her things, she is late for class, they can go for dinner tonight and talk more, she’ll make reservations. Yes, she has got the Salem “babble and don’t let the person interrupt” gene down pat. Out she goes, Austin seems flabbergasted. (He could have just said, no, no, no).

Carrie opens her office door, to find Rafe sleeping in his chair. She tries to quietly close the door, but he awakens, calls her name. They both are a bit awkward, but Rafe tells of sleeping there with no where to go as Sami asked him to leave. Carrie figured she would, says Austin did not come home at all, she doesn’t know where he is. They talk a bit of their mistake, with Rafe finally saying that he made a decision, she needs to get a new investigator. She asks if he is sure. Yes, and she agrees. He wants to save his marriage, he departs. Carrie sits and flashes back to kissing Rafe. The door opens, she says..”I am so glad”….and there stands Austin…she lamely finishes off..you’re here!
And now Austin apologizes for not coming home, he should have come and talked this all out with her. She is taken aback, she is the one who did wrong, but Austin just does this over and over, assuring her he loves her so much. He does have something to tell her, but only mentions going to the liquor store. Again he is apologizing, again, and again. Carrie tells of calling Marlena, how she made Carrie see things more clearly, told her the strongest marriages need work every single day. She laments not trying to meet Austin even half way when he was trying so hard, both vow to do their best to get things back to where they were before they came to Salem. Hugs.
In the middle of this, Abby has returned to the Univ. office, her class was cancelled. She finds Austin gone, so calls him. Austin sees who the caller is, ignores it, Carrie is more important. And we hear Abby leaving this loving message, definitely overly gushing about how last night meant so much, she can’t wait til she sees him again, yada, yada.
Now Austin suggests a trip to Hawaii, or Fiji. Carrie reminds him he cannot up and leave his univ. job. O.K. then how about a long weekend, just the two of us.

Bo is bringing Hope coffee in bed, as she grabs that license, staring at it. More conversation about whether it is real or isn’t, Bo telling Hope she is his wife, no matter what anyone tries to say. He has loved her forever, always will. He has a contact looking into authenticity. Blah, blah, yada, yada, and he kisses her, she giggles, and we return to heavy breathing and exclamation of that was truly great. More chatter about Stefano, the license, the ifs, ands plus the buts, and the covers are pulled over their heads, more giggles, Round 2.

Over at Chez Black, Marlena brings John his coffee, he is grateful, she can tell something is bothering him. He asks about Carrie, Marlena says she is having a difficult time right now, but again asks John what is wrong. Well, he did not want to tell her last night, but…..and John tells the tale. Marlena is not a happy camper, of course, is sick and tired of Stefano causing them troubles. She is going over there. John cautions her about going over, yelling and screaming. Oh, she won’t yell and scream. She is going to kill him. She is just tired of it. So many years spent coping with him. They have to put a stop to it. What can they do. John is pretty calm, just wait and see. Meanwhile, let’s go to breakfast.

Rafe is at home, writing a poignant letter to Sami, just came to pick up some of his things, not because he wanted to, but because she wanted him to…..once again apologizing, and letting her know he will never give up on them.

At the Pub, Marlena is calling Sami, leaving a message about wanting to have lunch with her. John gets a call, tis Bo, whose contact will be letting them know within the hour. John will have them wrap breakfast and be right over. Nope, Bo & Hope will come there, just stay put. Later, the Bradys arrive, sit down, (Hope nest to John, Bo with Marlena, lol). They chat a bit about the situation when Bo finally gets his phone call. He hangs up, tells the group the license is real. It can’t be. Oh, but it is. His contact found the exact same info in the records of the City clerk. Then he adds…..in Alamania. Marlena starts to say something, then..questions…Alamania? Oh, they all know Stefano. He has only just begun.

thank you, poirot. I better fast forward through the Abby & Austin scenes so I don't gag while eating my dinner when I watch the show.

Abby with Austin is starting to look like a Lifetime movie with the psycho student who stalks her hot professor. Those never end well. LOL

But I did enjoy the look of horror on Austin's face when he woke up and realized the half naked woman snuggled up to him wasn't Carrie.

Thanks Poirot. I could almost buy this Austin/Abby thing because it is a typical soap story IF Austin hadn't been fooled by Sami in much the same way. What's the saying? Fool me once..... :rotfl: Silly man.

@JS.....That is how she is acting, too.
Forgot that Abby flashes back to when Austin & her were kissing. He sits down on the sofa, leans back, and Abby begins unbuttoning her top. She slips it off, and then looks and Austin is sound asleep, passed out. I have no idea what she did all night, but she carried on (she was initially talking about the kiss, how close they became, etc.)

And now, Austin is all apologetic to Carrie, but has not told her what happened to him. Grrrr

LOL Barb! Wonder how that conversation would go?

Austin: Honey, remember when we were young and I was drugged/passed out and slept with Sami.... well, thought I slept with Sami, because I had no memory of it?

Carrie: Of course, then Sami showed up at our wedding, pregnant with Will and blamed it on you.

Austin: Funny how things come 'round again....... You know Abby.........

Austin has no Cojones, like Sami he's going to hide a secret from his partner and this the man who wants everything to be the same as before he and Carrie returned to Salem.

Rafe, where's your suitcase of wheels? I saw him put a small bag on his shoulder, his coat over his arm, but no suitcase when leaving the office. Now I wonder where he will stay since he's been kicked out of the loft and has no job. Maybe Will will offer him a room in his new Penthouse.

Carrie's hair was beautiful today, I like it so much better strait than in curls. Now that I have brought up grooming, Austin has spent two nights at his office and now Abby has been there one night. But both appear to get up and get dressed, in unwrinkled clothes by the way, and go about their day without a shower, brushing their teeth, her freshening make-up or him shaving.

Now that's probably the 2nd or 3rd time we've heard Marlena threaten to kill Stefano. Just reminds me of the gun Stefano has with John's finger prints...somewhere down the line someone is going to be shot with that gun.

Oooh! I wondered what happened to that gun - I usually only watch one-two scenes a day since they are so bloody repetitive - but I recall seeing John put it down, and leaving later. I think you've struck gold. Let's hope the writers are like-minded.

But on the other hand, that sounds a bit like the "Aremid" storyline to me...and I definitely don't want the writers going that way again.

Thanks for the summary, Poirot. I wouldn't mind if Abby and Austin left together and never came back. He seems like such a dullard to me and I haven't found anything appealing about Abby since she came back to Salem this time.
